"Of all places, why do we need to go here?" Alex asked before Janch smirked, "What's the matter? Scared?" Alex shake his head, "No, it is just that I wonder why here." Janch looked forward, "Vana said that the perfect wyvern for you could be found in here. Just beware, the ores here are naturally toxic." Alex gave a nod before noticing a small strange humanoid creature running out from the mining shaft, followed by a wyvern that seemed to really want it, Janch gave a small laugh while Alex looked confused, "Oh, that is an Ivyblade Whistler. They are mostly food for the wyverns here. However, they are curious when it comes to us, so they might attempt to use the ivy around them to sting you so they can get close and figure out more about you. This is however dangerous as the ivy around them is highly toxic and the death ratio is about 8 out of 25 reported cases being untreated." Alex shivered, "But it looked so harmless." Janch began to move towards the entrance to the mining shaft, "Come on now, String-bean. We got to get you some air now." Alex rushed after her inside.

The insides of the mining shaft was amazing, there were ores covering the walls even up in the ceiling, at a few places there were even gems sticking out of the walls. Alex's curiosity got the better of him as he walked over to touch one of the gems, "I have not seen anything like this before. I wish I knew what these are. Maybe Earth has something similar." Janch looked back, "Mom used to tell me that those were called amethysts. She said they represented luck. Rubies represents strength and sapphires represents vitality." Alex was a little taken by the fact that the dragoness most connected with blood and massacres, was actually really deep into mineralogy. Following her, she soon grabbed a pickaxe and effortlessly swung it against a wall, a dense sound being heard as she nodded, "Hear it? This means that the wall has been here for over a century." Alex nodded before Janch took a swing at another wall, same sound being heard. The third time was the charm as a light screeching sound was heard, "There. This is a newly made wall."

Janch swung another time, this time harder to bring down the wall before they could see a big egg chamber, guarded by what seemed to be a rather angry adolescent wyvern that growled at them. Janch looked at it, "Oops, sorry girl. We were just trying to find some minerals." The wyvern growled louder as Alex quickly began to create a shield to block stone shards from hitting them, "Damn, and I thought Sasha having premenstrual syndrome was a hard time." Janch looked confused at Alex before he focused the shield as the wyvern rushed closer to them, hearing the growl as it struck the shield, pushing him back as he was trying to find solid ground.

"Janch, I need some help here!" Alex was feeling the shield slowly breaking before Janch placed her hands onto and both began to push the wyvern back, Alex attempting to fix the shield while they did. A sudden swipe from the wyvern cut through the shield and Alex looked into the eyes of the wyvern before offering his throat to it. The wyvern could seem to understand now as it slowly lowered his muzzle and offered its own throat. Alex lowered its muzzle and gently rubbed along its cheek before Janch did the same and Alex smiled, "Come on, can we see your eggs, girl? We just wanna see how proud of a mother you are." The wyvern seemed to accept it as they walked back into the egg chamber and Alex leaned down to look at an egg, "Wow, these are not small. You are really going to have many wonderful little ones to tend to, won't you?" The wyvern growled softly before gently biting onto his arm, Janch giving a smile, "Seems like she wanna show you something."

Alex followed the wyvern, who was actually pulling him along until they got into a deeper chamber where two very old wyverns laid and watched as the wyvern pulled Alex inside. One of them growled out before the younger wyvern replied, but Alex was not understanding until he felt how one of the adults lifted him up carefully and put him in front of an altar. Janch had followed and walked over to look at the altar, her eyes widening, "The shrine to Cora, the Jun'Java of the sky and the guardian of the wyverns! No one ever found this." Alex looked over it and brushed away some dust to reveal an old text, which Janch began to read, "At the dawn of day, a warrior should descend into this chamber and be judged by the two chosen spirits of old. Should they find them worthy, this shrine should cease to exist and they shall either get out alive, or become split into two guardians at a new location." Janch looked over it before one of the adults growled out and the second growled as well, both of Janch and Alex looking at them before the shrine gave off a light glow upon opening to reveal a very carefully mummified dragoness laying there. Janch was quick to get down and pray, "String-bean! Kneel quickly! We are the presence of the remains of Cora. It is dishonorable to not pay respect!" Alex was kneeling down and even if not praying, he did at least honor the decision.

Once they were done, Alex reached in to gently grab the egg that the dragoness was holding, "I am sorry, miss Cora, for tarnishing your grave like this." The egg began to glow and Alex eeped before he was thinking calm thoughts and the egg stopped glowing, "I guess it knows that it is not the time." Alex took his time to get the egg loose before he finally held it in his hands, the altar soon closing itself before the adult wyverns disappeared and Alex felt the cave beginning to fall in, his eyes quickly going to Janch, "We got to get out!" Janch nodded before they began to run up the way to the egg chamber, Janch running past it, but Alex stopped and grabbed the eggs, much to Janch's annoyance, "You cannot save them! We got to get out!" Alex growled back at her, "I will not let anyone die." The adolescent wyvern noticed what Alex was doing and quickly ran down to the altar to get a big bag they had missed, her speed quickly allowing her to get back before Alex put the eggs into the bag.

The stones falling around them as Janch growled out, "Come on! We got them all, lets go!" Alex nodded before the wyvern ran before him, both him and Janch following her as they tried to reach the exit, just as a boulder suddenly began to fall from the ceiling and both of Janch and the wyvern looked up to see it just as two stones ricochet off the walls and sent them both to their sides, the screams of fear echoing out loudly. Alex's world slowed down to almost a halt when he saw what was about to happen, color draining from his face, "No... Janch... no... NO..." In a flash Alex ran under the boulder and lifted his arms before his body bulked up, catching the boulder on a shield, but he felt the weight being too much for him to hold up. His eyes closed as a single tear fell from his cheek, "In the end... I could not save anyone... I broke my unspoken promise to Chaldoa... I was going to protect her sister... and now... now..."

Janch began to cry before screaming out at the top of her lungs, "I do not wanna die here!" Her scream and tears awoke Alex before the power within him grew, "No... NO! I will not allow her to die like this!" Alex's body began to glow before two more hands came to support the shield, then another pair and another. It was not until nine pair of arms pushed up the boulder that Janch and the wyvern looked up and noticed that Alex was now using the strength of the gods themselves to push up the boulder with ten pairs of arms. He looked at them and growled, "Get out, quickly! I will deal with this!" Janch and the wyvern were quickly getting up and ran towards the entrance until they were out in the fresh air, as Alex's voice rang out, "Saihojodo no Niju-te! (Paradise of Twenty Hands!)" The sound of rocks breaking filled the air as Alex relentlessly pummeled the boulder into gravel, only to have a boulder block the way out, making Janch scream out, "String-bean!"

Janch felt her knees weakening before she covered her face in her hands, "String-bean... Y-You sacrificed yourself to let me live... but why did you have to go and die?" Her voice soon went loud as she yelled, "You fool! You dumb, selfless, bad-mouthed fool!" It was then she could have sworn she heard his voice, until his voice shouted out clearly, "Ten no Yari! (Spear of Heaven!)" and the boulder broke apart from a beam of light piercing through it before Alex stepped out and cracked his neck to the sides, "Wow, what a pain." Janch looked at Alex and growled as she got up and tried to punch him, but found herself being caught by him as he returned to normal again, "Calm down, Janch. Relax and lets head home. We got one heck of a story to tell." Janch was surprised, but nodded before she and Alex walked back with the wyvern tagging along.

After getting back home, Tenchi looked at Alex and Janch as they came back, "See that you are back home. How did it go?" Alex smiled and grabbed the egg from the bag, "We found it and I think Janch got something to tell about it. If I tell you, you might think I am lying." Vana walked over with Izae and Jigo to look at the wyvern, "Awww, and seems you brought a little friend too." The wyvern growled, but Alex reached down to gently pet her, "No worry, they are friends and family." Janch smiled before the egg began to glow and this time hatched in Alex's hands, a little wyvern soon peeking out and happily squeaking before Alex helped it out of the egg and held it closely as Jigo whistled, "First Tenchi gets a Thunder Skyroyal and now you come home with a Gemmed Stonescaled. You really are lucky." Alex smiled before Tenchi moved closer to pet the little hatchling on the head before Jigo gasped out from seeing all of the eggs, "Wow, you did not come back empty-handed there. But we got to respect the will of this one. She seems rather protective about them." Alex smiled before getting down to pet her head, "Yes, because it is your eggs, am I right?" The wyvern growled proudly before Alex nodded, "So what you say? Wanna live here with us and be treated well?" The only reply was a lick on his cheek, making Alex blush, "Awww, you little." Everyone laughed happily as the sun slowly went down across the horizon.

The End.
