Shard tossed and turned in his bed suffering from reoccurring nightmares. While he suffers from them others are watching him closely. It had been about 17 years they gained this special person. For almost that much time using him to eliminate their enemies and bring more into the fold. They have never met others like him with this power. On the screen Shard woke from the nightmare holding his hand up light formed illuminating the room. They cut the feed from his room and turned to a map discussing a single location where someone else like Shard is reported albeit they may be stronger but it mattered little this was a holy war and ones like Shard will gladly die for it.
Later in the day after cleaning up Shard was summoned arriving he met with the holy order leaders they explained his assignment praising him on flawless work each time. Shard was happy for the praise almost lost in his own mind were thoughts back to being a kid seeing the work to eliminate monsters and the unholy who turned their back on the order. The same ones who let his parents die till the order saved him taught him to fight back and purge these non believers from the world. Snapping out of the past he understood what he needed to do bowing at the waist " I will not fail in this holy order." Turning on his heel Shard walked out when the chamber doors closed one of the order leaders spoke up "Can we trust him to eliminate Dak....she seems to be the one person who cannot be converted nor can she seem to be killed."
Another chimed in with a raspy voice " Even if he fails it will only show to others how far we are willing to sacrifice to protect others...." Shard packed a few things into a buggy like vehicle and climbed in starting up the engine. Shard checked the map again deciding his route before stomping his foot on the accelerator speeding out of the sanctuary city. Shard drove though their hell world history states at one time it was a happy prosperous world then darkness came people turned on each other monsters born of the darkness. The order rose to power fighting back saving people who were of the faith. Miles dragged on Shard having to stop at a few of the outlying camps along the way to get information refuel his buggy.
It was late into the evening when Shard stopped his buggy looking his map over before climbing out the snow leopard climbed up onto what remained of a old building ruin using binoculars he looked over this small town they centered it around a old church like building. Putting the binos away he sat in reflection letting the wind tug at his dark Grey outfit. Shard climbed down and decided to give these heathens a chance driving his buggy into the town he climbed out passerby's pointed the armored plate on his shoulder emblazoned with the orders logo others sneered or fled. Climbing out he strode with full intent he entered what could be considered the town hall walking in on the leader of these people.
" In the name of the holy order...I have come to lead any faithful away...others will be purged from this world. " The older man laughed much to shards disapproval " boy...you had best go back home you do not wish to contend with Lady Dak. " hearing the name Shards golden eyes glowed " I seek her out if shes not too cowardly to hide form me and the order." The old man laughed again and pointed towards the old church building. " She runs a orphanage and lives in the old church. Shard spun on his heel and walked out a few of the townsmen gathered around shard one of them a border collie mix huffed at the feline " You best go home boy before Da..." he looked down in a shock as a knife made of light was sticking out of his heart shard's hand on the 'grip' as his eyes glowed. " I will purge...all of you from this world" As the others backed up the knife flickered and vanished replaced in his hands were what could be described a hand held crossbows of pure light waving his arms across each one who had gathered around him he subsequently shot them with a bolt of light letting their lifeless bodies fall. Walking forward as if killing didn't matter he yelled towards the church building but didn't matter who herd him " come out and repent your sins join the faithful in sanctuary or be wiped clean from this world. "
People came out pointing others yelling shard give them no choice forming a large bow aiming and shooting people at random it didn't matter if it was men or women he even shot children as they ran screaming to or from their friends and parents being shot by this attacker. A wave of dark clouds radiated over the town as a booming voice cried out for him to cease . Looking to the old church the bow flickered out of existence and out strode a dark furred female with a single gold eye and the other red. " I take it your Dak? " The woman nodded softly and without warning Shard had a bow up and a large arrow of light screaming towards her head barely a moment later a shadow raised up off the ground and swallowed the arrow. " Boy...go home. Leave these people in peace we care not of your holy order or anything else for that matter. " She didn't get to say anything more as shard rained more and more arrows down at her and around her kicking up dirt and debris charging in the bow vanished in its place were 2 curved daggers swinging them in a rage at this woman her form melted away like she was made of shadows.
As shard looked around he entered the church lashing out of a shadow was a blade made of shadow it connected across the shoulder plate tearing though it like paper into his flesh under it making him yelp out in pain the two of them continued this futile dance Dak never using any true extent of her power wearing down the snow leopard. Sadly he just kept coming never staying down like a fanatic.
Dak could see she had no choice she had to put this whelp down and make him stay down. Sighing hard she motioned her hand and tendrils of shadow lashed out in all directions stabbing into shard's shoulders in front and back though his legs in several spots leaving him on the ground bleeding yet he still tried to form a weapon and stand but kept falling back to the dirt. " Stay down...I wish to not harm you any further...." Shard though his pain had glowing eyes " Ill kill you and everyone here daemon whore! " Shaking her head Dak was given no choice but to subdue him binding him and knocking him unconscious she loaded him into his buggy and made her way back to sanctuary.
Shard woke seeing sanctuary burning hearing screams and calls to battle his body ached but wounds were bandaged slowly standing up he forced himself to venture inside everyone inside were slaughtered stabbing wounds or just torn limb from limb in a bloody mess no one lived. Shard came to the end of the journey with the great hall for the leaders of the holy order coming inside he found them or what was left of them in a heap with Dak dusting off herself. " you damn monster!" Shard raised his arm despite being injured and formed a crossbow firing bolts wildly at her each one impacting and exploding tearing into everything Dak raised her hand firing her own bolt at him one ow shadow hitting his arm rendering it dead hanging limp at his side before he could raise the other she vanished appearing to his side a blade of shadow in her hand stabbing into his temple. Shard shook like a marionette on strings then fell in a heap still very much alive but locked inside a dream replaying his life over and over like a broken record.
Outside his dream Dak moved his body forming a gateway she carried the limp being though stepping out on the other side with him into a world more lively than the previous one. Carrying the snow leopard into the distance she entered a castle speaking to guards they showed her to another woman while the guards took the snow leopard to a guest room rebinding wounds and laying him in a bed to rest. Dak spoke to the queen of ice about Shard what he had done and what she was going to do to him. Both of them coming to a agreement Dak wandered away fading into a shadow and coming out of another in the room with Shard. Sitting beside the bed she formed needles of shadow on her claws touching Shard's head she delved into his memories learning the truth. The so called holy order killed his family when they learned of his power then used him for years. She looked though the memories seeing for years and years they used him killing all manner of people in the name of faith.
She could tell he was all alone he felt so empty inside never loved or cared for it made her decision easy she took all that hate all the evil he did in the name of faith and slowly locked it away. The Effort took its toll on them both Dak having to take turns even with her power to do all this in order to not kill him.
Once memories were locked away she worked on the rest of his mind changing his personality to something better fitting a person to repent of their sins. She could do little more without possibly killing him. Shard on the other hand was nearly a vegetable in his body as it adjusted a parting gift from Dak was to give him some good dreams while he recovered. She or other servants fed and bathed him his body would move mostly under a form of autopilot but personality and everything else was gone for the time being. Dak had to leave once she knew he would be alright it took a few weeks for everything in his mind to settle into place. Shard finally and truly woke up he was surprised where he was everything felt weird and his own body felt so heavy. A Servant boy saw him wake and ran out before shard could say anything alerting Emira who came down to see him. " easy...stay calm..." I am Emira and you are a guest in my home." Seeing the crown something in his mind said to respect and obey.
Shard bowed his head slowly. " I am Shard...How did I get here?" Emira nodded her head slowly " My sister Dak brought you to my home so that it may be your new home for how shall I saw a new lease on life. " Reaching aside she picked up a silver collar with a snowflake motif on it. "If you wish Shard you can leave here anytime to go anywhere you wish. I will do all I can to support and prepare you for any place you wish to go." Shard nodded his head softly thinking "May I stay here with you? " Emira cocked a eyebrow figuring this was some of Dak's doing as Shards eyes seemed fixated on the collar she held. " you want this collar Shard?" he nodded his head gently " Do you understand what it means to wear this collar and what you will be asked of?" Shaking his head Shard got more comfy sitting in the bed. Emira came closer and sat beside the bed. " wearing this collar will make you the 5th member of my Harem of ice...you will be expected to help out to obey. I will treat you well with obedience and you will never be without." Without another work Shard picked up the collar and locked it about his neck looking to her for approval his eyes taking on a faint glow Emira had been warned of that power. "when your feeling like it we will take you to the harem chambers to get you settled in. Haku he needs your fine lesson plans to learn of this land and history can you spare some time in the evenings to assist him?" Haku nodded his head " If I can teach Ahri here to have excellent penmanship and reading skills I'm sure Shard here will be no problem."
The one called Ahri helped him settle in for his new room and eager to help him get chores complete Time passed well he worked hard for Emira in everything she wished of him. Lessons with haku went well he was eager to learn all he could of his new home taking to lessons like a fish to water.

Getting a plate of food sitting down to eat he noticed the others the whole party was very festive and happy making Shard happy.
