Dear Reader,I may not know you and you may not know me. We most likely haven't met at all even, that or we're close friends. However, I will not shy away from introducing myself and explaining the purpose of this little, or should I say big, writing challenge. I have attempted this before, though it was mostly poetry, and it didn't go so well nor did I follow it through to completion. So I've decided to start with a clean slate; starting over and writing whatever comes to mind based on the different prompts. Be it poetry, fiction, editorial, essay, or even a letter like this; something will be written. Why am I doing this? Well, to exercise my writing abilities of course. Not only that, but to try and get my creative juices flowing again. It's been so long and I've been busy for the past few months, I haven't had time or energy to just sit down and write. College is hard, and it's even harder to be a creative type when you're surrounded by all this science and math. It is interesting, though it can be hard to grasp sometimes. So, nothing like a few, or in this case 100, exercises to get my writing self back into shape.

Sorry, I haven't exactly introduced myself, have I? sigh I tend to ramble at times and fail to get to the point. Apologies. My name's Richard Paszek (p-AH-sh-eh-k), but all my friends call me "Ricky." There is one friend who calls me "Hobbs" for some reason, yet I look nothing like your typical tiger. Oh, right, I'm an anthropomorphic tiger by the way, though I have light grey fur, almost white, with green stripes and my ventral fur is white. I know, it's weird, but that's how my real self created me. Yes, he's one of those "furries," but has only been part of that for about a year. Anyway, I should consider stopping that kind of talk before I have an out-of-body experience or existential crisis or something. I don't consider myself a specialized tiger, nor a cat-of-all-trades, if you will; I'm...average. Of course, I do like to write, but I do enjoy some of natural photography when I can. Right now, as I mentioned earlier, I'm in college right now, as a Biology major to be exact. I know I said I would stop with this talk, but my real self wants to do something involving animals; whether it's veterinary practice, zookeeper or shelter care, conservation, or even field study, so long as it involves interacting with wild animals, he's for it.

I wouldn't mind doing the same thing but...well most of us anthro types aren't exactly "wild" anymore, or even have feral appearances anymore. We've sort of domesticated ourselves. Don't get me wrong, our natural instincts can kick in if you push the right buttons, but I don't think you want to do that. Still, I have hear of some who want to go back to a feral life, a natural life. Sometimes, I don't blame them; this industrialized, commercial world can be terrible, but it can be nice too. That's why

there are fields in Biology that help those who want to "devolve," to put it scientifically, ranging from the drugs to be used, to reconfiguring DNA, medical attention before, during, and after devolution, and feral care for post-devolution before releasing them back into the wild or conservation centers, depending on the species/health of the individual. It's quite a lengthy and expensive process to say the least, and it's a fairly new field of Biology at that. Even if I don't get to work somewhere in this process, at least I'll soon know the ins and outs of it to consider going through it myself. But that will be for when I'm out of college and start making some real money.

Well, there I go rambling again. Biology and writing, two things I don't want to stop talking or learning about. Yeah I'm a nerd, but I don't care. They're both interests of mine and I understand them, for the most part; I'm still learning. Anyway, I think I should leave you now Reader. I think I've gone on long enough and I don't want to bore you by just talking about myself. Hopefully I'll get to know you, but I don't know what you look like, or where you live, or if you can read at all. But if we do get to know each other, if not already, I hope you enjoy whatever I write for this challenge. Giving yourself a fresh start can be liberating sometimes, but it's still hard if you have trouble coming up with ideas.TTFN,Ricky
