#5 of City of Colors

Alright, while I am still working on Fatal Radiance Chapter 10, I was able to write a bit more

on Cities of Color for the fun of it. I guess it gets a bit violent by the half of it, so I am warning,

this entry is not for the weak of nerve and faint of heart. Although I tried to not overdo it.

Also, here is a link to an uncut version in terms of sex, because.... I lived to long in America perhaps, so violence is kept in, sex is optional: https://www.sofurry.com/view/947247

Point of View: Ragnar

** ** Fuck, I should have thought about the eventual trial this Lukas would get for assault when I made my week's planning. Now I am sitting on the bench for the witnesses and wait for the judge to do his job.

"Thank you for being here with me," Dejen said next to me, seemingly nervous as he glanced over to the witnesses, which were supporting Lukas with their statements. All of them were not hiding their opinions about me and him either. "It is rather depressing to listen to claims that I have been insulting him first, tried to rob him, and even that he was only defending himself. Thankfully they were contradicting themselves."

Ah yes, the contradictions. I had to chuckle a little bit as I remembered their pathetic attempts to make Dejen next to me look like a dumb brute that would take on a dumb brute like Lukas. "Justice will prevail, or so. The judges spend six or seven years on studying about all this, so don't worry."

Just as I said this, the judge, a rather well-proportioned brown stallion with a black mane, entered and adjusted his glasses as he was about to proclaim the sentence, "The defendant Lukas Arnesen is found guilty of assault and the infliction of minor injury. He is therefore sentenced for two years of prison on parole," and then a bunch of other formalities.

So it would be on parole? Oh well, that is the justice system in this country. I personally preferred it, because it allowed for an easier resocialization of criminals than in the UL, but right now I had to calm down the anger in me, else I would stand up, jump over to his seat, and kick him right in the balls. I already assumed they were little, considering how angry he was even during this trial.

Dejen meanwhile was now looking down at his feet, and shivered. I could smell the fear on him. And I couldn't blame him for that, Lukas would easily have made this a slaughter, if I didn't intervene. "He is going to kill me; he is going to kill me." He was saying this line over and over again, quietly into himself, and probably trying to not show it much. Failed on me.

In order to calm him down I put my arm around his shoulder and pulled him in a close hug. "If he tries to hurt you, I am going to break more than just his nose next time."

He eased up a little bit and as the court emptied, he was still sitting there with me. Even Oskari was gone, probably as he was going to that Ren Fair. Goddess, this was awkward. At least he finally managed to get up and walked out with me, after I nudged him gently in the shoulder that is. "Is it okay, if I could live with you for a while? I just, feel very unsafe right now," he asked me after we got out of the building.

"I have one bedroom, where I keep all of my personal belongings. This is going to be a mess, if I have to actually organize anything," I replied as I mentally laid out how many ways there were in which that could go wrong. "Let me see your apartment first, then we talk about the plans."

Point of View: Dejen

Oh shit, my apartment was nothing that I was proud of showing Ragnar, especially not after I saw his fancy place, which only had his strong smell to it, but nothing else. My place however, it smelled like old cheese mixed with very questionable four-year-old liquids I couldn't get out of the carpet. And as I opened my door, I was reminded of that yet again.

"Well, I guess that we can ditch the furniture anyway and take your personal stuff right away." That was a rather blunt statement, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was judging me for the state of my apartment.

Since I really had not much despite the box of documents with my health insurance data, banking stuff, and so on, it really only took him one go to carry it all down to the rented car, while I was only standing there in my own four walls, and staring at it all. Back when I had money, I used to live in this huge building's penthouse in the middle of the city, had three bed rooms, a pool, and a huge living room, but now I had barely anything. If I just had some temperance, maybe I would be living in a nice apartment like Ragnar had, maybe I would have not to deal with that Lukas, and maybe I would not have messed up my life. Just, why was I such an idiot?

"Hey Dejen, you okay?" Oh god! He startled me. Was I crying? Yes, I was. Oh god, he must be thinking I am oversentimental, which is certainly true right now. But, he was at least there for me, helped me as a friend. I am probably just annoying him overall. "Dejen? You there, bro?"

"Uh, yeah, sorry. I just didn't sleep well last night," I replied before he could be thinking more about anything that was going on my mind. "I hope this is not too bothersome for you."

Ragnar was certainly very calm and unexpressive, and as he just shrugged this time, I got the feeling he really was that blunt. "It will fit in the storage room, so don't worry. And hey, how about I make us some burgers? I thought about chopping peanuts into the ground meat, and use pretzel buns to give it a really lovely taste." Okay, he really fits that wolverine stereotype. Not to mention the stereotype of a Lombocen.

"You are the best glutton in the world, Ragnar," I joked as we both went down to the rental car and drove back to his apartment. Just, how lucky was I that close to my working place and the bar I frequently visited after work, there was this guy, who would be helping me out, defending me, and now even become sort of a roommate? "How do I deserve a friend like you?" Oh, my, goodness, I did not just, oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! "Um, I mean, thank you, bro."

"Uh, you are odding out a little." Okay, he was right. I am only overreacting to this entire situation like I did back at my first exam about how performance enhancing drugs work. "Okay, I am sure you are just a bit nervous about what happened last week and today."

Now I do wonder how the heck he perceived my sudden panic attack. Not easy to guess, if the most his face does is looking blank or looking a tad bit annoyed. Chances are he may not even have noticed at all, which is at least what I hoped for. "Yeah, it was just a lot of stuff. Also, burger on pretzel buns with peanuts sounds delicious. And to a degree like a cardiac arrest waiting to happen."

"I am using poultry then," he replied as he drove out of the street to the main road leading out of the suburb into the downtown area he was living at. Only took him ten minutes, and soon we already got my pathetic amount of belongings in his apartment and just sat down together on his couch. "You know; I am actually feeling very tired lately. Maybe I should get some fruits to make fresh smoothies out of them."

Hmm, sounded good to me, though I am a carnivore and thus had little issue with neglecting fruits and veggies altogether. "Sure, I meanwhile just try to figure out how to make myself at home in this place till the issue with Lukas is solved."

"Do that. I will be back in twenty minutes," he told me as he got up and stepped out of the apartment, with a bag for carrying the groceries.

Okay, so now I had all the time for myself. Certainly a good opportunity for snooping around and get to know his place. I started with his most private section and went right for his bedroom. And it certainly required some fresh air, so I opened the window right away. With that done, I immediately took a look around his room, since I already was here, and I looked at his king-sized bed. Gosh, that one is even larger than the one I got at work, and while I am only a striped hyena, I did have a lot of larger species as clients. Larger than him anyway. Hmm, but I may should try to clean up everything for him, while I am at it. A vacuum cleaner was already in the storage room, so I just got it and went into every single corner of the room, till I hit something peculiar under the bed. A box, which had me curious about its contents. Ah well, most likely just some sex toys, according to me own experiences, so I left it there and just continued till I saw Ragnar stepping back into the apartment with a bag.

Surprisingly, he had a very big amount of fruits with him, including a bunch of strawberries, grapes, oranges, lemons, and raspberries. "Alright, I hope you like smoothie with bio-sweetener. Because I got a lot of that now."

"Sure, I just get the vacuum cleaner back in the storage room!" I called to him and did just that before I sat down on the couch again and waited till he came with two glasses full of freshly blended fruits, with crushed ice. "Ah, thank you very much, Ragnar."

He gave me a smile, which was always a good sign, at least this type of smile. "Well, if you already went on cleaning my room, I guess I may as well thank you. Speaking of, may I show you something?"

Wait, did he want to show me his hidden box? "Um, this is kind of an awkward thing to show other people, don't you think?"

Ragnar looked a bit baffled at my response and then leaned his head to the left. "I enjoy it a lot, so I don't see why you would be so weirded out about it."

Was he serious?! "Listen, I do even dress up in strange outfits at times, but I am not sure, if I do want to see it from a friend."

"How do you even know about my stuff and the costume I got myself?" Oh goodness, this was only getting worse by the second. Ragnar was much kinkier then I would have ever thought.

"Um, I saw your box down your bed, so I assumed you had that stuff in there," I told him truthfully.

He blinked twice and then looked at the open door to his room. "Bummer, I wanted to share all that with you, if you were interested."

I spit out my smoothie as I heard him saying that. Was he coming on to me already? "Ragnar, I may be working at a brothel, but I am not your bitch!"

"Huh? Why would you be a female canine belonging to me? You are not even a canine anyway," he was looking a little bit at me, and then his eyes lightened up and he began to laugh. "Oh, you thought I kept erotica in there? No wonder this was getting awkward."

My body eased up, and so did my jaw as I dropped it to the ground, figuratively. "So, you were talking about something else entirely? Oh shit, this has to be the funniest misunderstanding ever."

"Nah, I am sure they pulled that one off in a few movies. Not that I watch those, since I got something better," he told me as he went to his room and got the small box from under his bed.

As it was opened, I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was seeing right. He had an entire collection of DVDs of Spaceship Chronos in that little thing. Five seasons of, gods if I knew. "Ah, so you are a Chronic."

"Yep, I sure am," he bluntly stated and got the first season out of the box. "I started watching these after I got my first own apartment. And had a discount on it online."

Well, still less awkward that sex toys. Unless there is something else as well. "So, you wanted to watch some DVDs with me? That is nice of you, but I am just not interested in science fiction."

"Oh well, then I watch it later on my computer," he said casually about my decline and put the DVD back into the box. "What are your interests anyway? I mean, you probably guess that I am a geek considering the gaming PC in my room and this little box."

He did poke me with a good question. "Boobs? I really never got down with a fandom or anything. And I couldn't go to a party and get myself drunk in the last few years."

"Boy, you need something, even if it has to be sports." Well, maybe I should have gotten myself a TV for watching soccer. Not that Ragnar appears to be very into that, though.

"Okay, how about we watch one episode, and then we watch some sports?" I suggested casually to see, if I can get this away from being two guys just sitting there till they realize they are completely unlike each other.

He got up to his TV and inserted the first DVD, which he soon started at the first episode. "Alright, I am also making the before mentioned burgers, so lie down on the couch a little, if you want."

Sounded good to me, so I stretched out myself on the couch and just looked at the flat screen. Nice intro music, a very neat set up for the age, and actually the more I watched the screen, the more I started to see why Ragnar was into all this. The acting was not superb, but still enjoyable, the plot worked out very well with a new space commander taking charge and Ragnar was done with the burgers when it was already at a point where an agreement could be found with the more arachnoid aliens that lived on whatever that planet was called again.

My roommate was already biting into his burger viciously as the next episode started and he spilled a bit of sauce on his shirt. He didn't even curse as he got up and walked into his room to just come out with a green shirt, resembling the shirt of the captain of the spaceship in the show. "So, Dejen. Do you like the show so far?"

"A little. Not necessarily my interest, but it is nothing cringe worthy," I replied as I took a bite from the burger he made for me. Something that felt heavenly on my tongue, as the pretzel bun and patty really combined to something awesome. "You already told me you are autodidact, but you are good at a few things to many."

"Just because you so far have seen my good sides more often. For example, I am wearing contacts, can't run for shit, and I need to shower thrice a day," he said casually as he walked over to a drawer and pulled out a set of glasses from it and put it right on. "See, the nerd factor probably is close to a five-digit number already."

I had to blink twice as I saw him with his glasses on and with the fan t-shirt in addition. Certainly a different vibe than when he was wearing a regular t-shirt and only used his contacts. "You are still looking good."

He took off his glasses and put them away again. "Thanks, but I know you are just being polite. Say, what was your school time like?"

Remembering back, I was not sure how to really put it into words that were not giving away what sort of person I was. "Okay, I guess."

"Well, for me it consisted of being bullied because of my interests, body mass, and also the glasses. Not to mention that I was not yet the confident man I am today," he told me as he sat down next to me and took another sip from his smoothie. "My parents were however very supportive of me, despite the struggles we had financially."

"Hum, I thought you were talking about your father when I asked you about your sca," Oh shit, I could have said this much less idiotic than it came out. I just admitted that I thought his father was a drunkard, who threw him through a window, because of the way he put it back then. "Sorry, I know it is dumb of me."

Ragnar thankfully shook his head and smiled weakly. "My parents died when I was thirteen. My uncle 'raised' me, as in trying to push his religious beliefs into me, while he was loading himself with beer all day," he now pulled off his shirt to show face his scars again. "The church of the Great Father. They proclaim love and peace, yet I have only witnessed hatred."

The church of the Great Father. I have heard that they were almost able to become extremely powerful during the time of the Empire, but then was severely weakened by the influence of a later emperor. But, I am not too fluid on the details, as there is a lot more to it. I was not even worshipping any gods myself, even though I believed in them. "So, your uncle. I assume he died under the influence of alcohol?"

A hint of satisfaction mixed with sadism came up his muzzle. His hatred must have been intense. "You could say that. I sat in the car with him, as it crashed against the tree. Somehow I survived without any permanent damage, while his body, well," he now stopped and took a deep breath. "It was liberating."

"Oh gods, this is just awful," I replied and put my arms around the burly wolverine to make him feel better.

Which was completely unnecessary as he was already laughing again and pulling me closer to himself. "I am fine. Those things lie in the past."

Seriously, I was feeling a bit embarrassed now as I was realizing that I hugged a shirtless guy because of my empathic reaction. And had his arms around me as well. "So, how did you drop out of school?"

"Let's say that I got independent by some methods and just smacked everyone in wrestling class so hard in the balls, I am sure that it is good I am out of the UL before they got the idea to sue me for being impotent," he said and now his face was grinning in satisfaction, as if he just won a trophy of some sorts. "Nah, I just snapped when the star athlete of our ice hockey team insulted me. His ass certainly was sore after I used his stick to spank it over and over again."

It would have been less awkward, if he was less enthusiastic about how he spanked someone's ass. Sadistic tendencies like that are way outside my part of the business. Or my general comfort zone. "Well, I guess I was more of a prep. Money, prestige, and cricket. Gosh, you have no idea how boring cricket is."

He just laughed at me and lifted me right up. "All sports are boring to me. Except martial arts, which is an exception. Of course it is still about hitting balls and such."

"Your humor really goes down the line, Ragnar," I told him and chuckled anyway, because I was starting to enjoy his more carefree and somewhat odd nature. Perhaps since he was so confident in himself, unlike me. "We probably should watch further."

"We may as well rewind it all back to the beginning, as we missed the part, where they were escaping the bad guys through an asteroid field," he said and took the remote to get the episode back to the start. Oh boy, we probably talked for quite a while.

Point of View: Ragnar

Dejen was now sleeping soundly on the couch after we had watched several episodes together. It was really nice to have him stay over, as he is a nice guy and open enough to endure me. Oh well, he was also somewhat cute I have to say. But now that I think back at his apartment, I was wondering. I did make some research and he should make enough money with his job and the addition of annual support every citizen gets. Yet his apartment looked like lower class from my country, despite him having had a lot of money before. This just hardly add up. But I was not telling him everything either, so I just let it be and got myself a more regular shirt from my room to get some walk. Outside was rather nice to be honest, especially with the trees here being present enough to freshen up the air, which I breathed in as I walked down the street. It was a short moment of joy, as I was suddenly feeling a stinging pain in the back of my head, and then passed out. It was only the prologue to something worse.

"Get this fat ass on this thing already," I heard someone saying as I was slowly regaining consciousness. Trying to make out any details, I saw that a wolf was close by and holding some sort of, oh shit.

As I was finally back at my senses, I looked down at myself and saw that they bound me to a chair, and stripped me bare safe for my boxers. This was not just bad; this was messed up.

"Ah, that little buttloader is finally awake," the wolf said as he put the instrument on the table and looked right at me. It was now that I remembered seeing him at the court earlier this day. "Sorry guy, but you got our friend a lot of trouble. And now you have to pay for that."

Lukas was the one behind it? Parole really didn't fit someone with his mindset. I just hope they left Dejen alone, because for me. For me it would be a dead end.

As the elk finally came in, he had only one other guy accompanying him, a fox as it seemed. Hmm, they really do look a bit different in this region. But still not that much.

I was trying to get myself out of this, but they really gave those knots a lot of effort. "Okay Lukas, I may have beaten you with a flashlight and grabbed you out at your antlers, but I," Lukas didn't even let me finish as his fist connected with my jaw.

"You little motherfucker should shut up already," the elk said with an anger in his voice that I heard before when he entered Oskari's bar and started insulting Dejen. "But they should not say I don't repay my depts."

I gave him a chuckle, knowing fully well that this is not going to change anything in the end. "Why do you even hate Dejen so much? Are you a child of the Great Father or some other shit that condemns him?"

He raised his eyebrow at my question. "Oh, you want to know what the reason is? Well then, that whore fucked my girlfriend and told her to leave me!" The last words were significantly more emphasized than the rest, and now at least it made more sense why he put so much effort and time into making Dejen's life painful. Though, this was not better than my initial suspicion of him being a nationalistic prick.

"It is, not much of a pleasure to us," the wolf said now as he got the instrument he was handling before from his table. "And by that I mean, it is not a pleasure for Benjamin."

The fox now rolled his eyes. "I am getting into jail because of you now, idiot. We may as well just cancel this and," he was immediately interrupted by Lukas, whose expression now turned frighteningly happy. "You are not going to kill him, are you?"

"If I can punch him into amnesia, maybe not," the elk told his companion and took the instrument of the wolf in his hands. "But first he is going to get what he gave me."

Point of View: Dejen

Whaah! My cellphone was ringing all of the sudden as I was lying on the couch in the apartment of Ragnar. I didn't even see that it was well past evening hours as I took the call. "Dejen Orji, what can I do for you?"

"Good evening Dejen. Just wanted to point out that Ragnar is not in his apartment right now," a strange voice from the other side said.

Much to my discomfort, he was correct. The apartment was dark and the wolverine nowhere to be seen. "Who is there and what do you want?"

"An interesting question, very justified. Let's just say that I am working very close with your friend. He has been abducted according to my intel, so I was wondering, if you wanted to come along," the man on the other side of the line said to me. "Outside your apartment, a bobcat is waiting in case you want to be there. If not, well, I am most likely at his location soon enough."

He then hung up on me, leaving me to decide what I was going to do. Naturally, I was worried about Ragnar, if such a call would come in, yet it seemed fishy to me as well.

Point of View: Kayetan

** "** Dum, dum, de, de." I was humming while I drove to the house where we could locate the position of Qannuk. It was a really boring drive, so don't judge my humming, random person standing there at the street. Anyway, I was at the warehouse building, which we could make out as the spot which this Ar... something brought our hacker friend. Being a slender red squirrel, I had little issue to sneak around to the air vents, which really are not a good idea, so scrap that. Sewers? Yeah, no. Instead I just took my crowbar and used it to get the backdoor open. Much easier, so, now I was standing inside a warehouse, and I already heard those ugly screams from the basement. I really didn't want to see what was going on there, but at least it was an easy job this time considering they were not even smart enough to muffle Qannuk. So, alright, I was at the door, and quickly used my large ears to make out what was going on.

"Well then, this thing is for scooping out the eyes? Excellent," someone said and I heard Qannuk scream again, and this time it was ear-shattering. I guess that means we both will have an issue with one of our senses. Ugh, I should just end this before they make him blind.

My right hand already wandered on the gun of mine, and with a bit of care I opened the door and snuck down while there were still screams covering me up. The view was clear, an elk, a wolf, and a fox standing around a wolverine.

Qannuk was bleeding from his right eye socket, most likely due to the treatment he received. "I hope they send you to a prison where they will use your ass till a tank canon fits in," he spat out with his breathing telling me how bad it was for him. Ugh, poor guy.

The elk, seriously what was his name again, now looked over the body of the wolverine and grinning in that way that you would not consider as filled with nice intentions. As I heard a zipper I just screwed the stealth approach and shot him right where his hands were right now. I should note, those projectiles are not piercing through a body, but glue on to it and shock it with an electric impulse.

Seeing the elk twitching around, the fox and wolf turned around to face me, or at least the box I was cowering behind. I guess this was a good moment for using the smoke bombs and memorizing their positions. So I dropped one of those little balls and then shot where the wolf and fox stood, hearing them crying out as a non-lethal electric shock knocked them out.

Now that I had this done, I walked over to Qannuk. Oh boy, he was bleeding from his nose and right eye socket, his breathing was fast and uncontrolled, and I fear he was also hit against his head several times. "Qannuk, can you hear me? I am here to help you out," I said before I turned to his backside and chewed through the ropes they used to bind him to the chair.

His breathing was normalizing as I helped him to get up again, but he was not looking too great after all this. "Thanks. Let, let me get, get my stuff." Since I wanted him to have some decency, I let him put on his pants and shirt, which was unfortunately in need for a good wash with all the blood on it. "Argh, I hope the ambulance is already here."

"Sort of, we will be driving you to a private emergency room, where we can patch you up in a few hours. Not necessarily the eye, I fear we need a new one for you," I told him as we walked up the stairs and out of the building, where Elizabeth was already waiting with the striped hyena.

"Ragnar!" the hyena called out as he ran over to Qannuk and put his arms around the wounded wolverine. "What did they do to you? Are you alright?"

Qannuk chuckled a little bit as he put his own arms around his friend. It was rather heartwarming to me, but it lasted only for seconds as Qannuk lost consciousness and dropped down to the ground.

Point of View: Ragnar

I would have said 'Ouch, my head' if it only had been my head that was feeling like crap right now. Looking through only one eye certainly requires me to get used to it, but I was able to make out that I was lying on a bed in a strange room. Huh? I really should be in a hospital right now.

But before I was able to ponder more about it, Dejen already entered the room and his surprised expression was telling me that he did expect me to be still out. "Oh Ragnar, I am so glad you are awake. They were fixing you up, but unfortunately your eye is," he stopped as he threw himself at me. "I am so sorry, you were dragged into all this because of me."

"Damage is done, isn't it? I have learned that he was angry at you, because you told his ex to leave him," I told him bluntly as my body and mind were still not fully recovered from this ordeal before. "Care to explain?"

His ears dropped to the side and if he wasn't crying before, now he certainly was. "She was a customer that I got two years ago. It was because Lukas treated her poorly, and she went to our establishment to have someone give her a better feeling. I just so happen to talk with her and I recommended her to break up by letter and leave to someone who could protect her."

"Very noble of you," I told him as I put my arms around him and let him know that I was not angry at him. "It is just so dumb. I was expecting a normal walk and now I may as well order an eye-patch and a macaw."

Now Dejen was looking a bit between anger and guilt, as he slapped me carefully at the part of my face that was largely okay. Still hurt, though. "Please, I am just feeling awful about all this."

"And slapping me makes you feel better? Just don't think too much about it. I will live, and Lukas is going to prison for good this time," I reassured him and tightened my hug. And then I eased it up as I realized that I had no idea about our location. "So, what is this place?"

Just as I was asking that, the red squirrel that rescued me entered the room with a perfect sense of timing. "I would call it the secret hideout of our little nameless organization. Well, not nameless, we are the Global Union Investigation Office."

"Explains why you guys wanted me to check on UL stuff," I said and then my eyes widened as I realized Dejen was not even involved in that business.

He was not looking shocked at this however and just continued lying on my chest with his head. "They already had the courtesy to inform me about their interests in the cases of people suddenly losing their mind and turning rampage."

"We did of course say that we will kill him, if he was telling a single soul," the squirrel told me with a mischievous grin. "Just kidding, we were established to control secret services across the globe, and did not do anything bothersome."

"Yeah, except maybe shocking three guys with painful electro shocks," I commented on that last remark as I tried to stand up again. Still hurt in my legs, but it was still not that bad. I looked over to a door and went through it, entering a bathroom where I looked right into the mirror. Argh, the swells are even visible through the fur. "Some ice would be good right now."

The squirrel now chuckled as he got into the bathroom and patted my back in a rather playful manner. "My name is Kayetan by the way. I am from Juwiel, but no, I am not drinking beer or wearing what people are too lazy to translate to leather pants."

"Very funny, can I please have some ice please?" Seriously, my head was throbbing and the pain killing me.

"Alright, I am getting you some," Kayetan said as he walked out of the bathroom with his hands stretched out in a flamboyant manner.

Now Dejen stepped in and still held his head low as he approached me. "When that woman came in, she was almost crying. We talked and I told her to go to that friend of hers in Angbrith. I am still in contact with them by mail."

"How about I build you a computer, so you can chat with them?" I suggested as I glanced over to him with a smile on my face. Which still hurt, though. "Also, I guess since Lukas is taken care off, I may as well help you make your apartment a bit livelier."

"You would do that? Thanks, but for now you should get to recover first," he replied and made a cackle, which I knew spotted hyenas would be making when they are nervous.

"Alright, then we get to that, once the ice helped against the swelling," I told him and went to the bed to lie down on it for now. And when I was lying there the events of that evening went through my head again. "He would have done it, wouldn't he?"

Dejen now got closer to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "I have heard all I needed from Kayetan and Elizabeth. I am still calling you Ragnar though."

"Would be better, if we hang out with each other," I replied with a distant voice as I was still processing my experiences. "I hope Lukas gets what he deserves."

No word followed my statement immediately. Instead Dejen's hand mowed over my shoulder and then over my chest, while he nudged my head with his muzzle.

I am not sure, if he was doing this to distract me, but it definitely had the effect as I turned around and put him into my arms again. "Say, how would you like to,"

"Hey guys, I got the ice and a nice eye patch for," Kayetan entered the room in an overly cheerful manner that froze as he saw us two being so close together. "Oh, how naughty. You asked for my bringing you ice and then start to get into some hot action."

Oh man, I forgot that I asked for ice just a few minutes ago. "Thanks for giving the ice and then breaking it with a sledgehammer, Kayetan," I told him as he threw me a pack of ice and an eye patch, which I put on right away. "Now I can make a pirate-themed roleplay. Arr, I want yer booty, lad!"

"Well, I see you are busy, so have fun," Kayetan said as he left the room, so we would have some private time.

Now Dejen looked at me again and smiled a little. "It is kind of weird. At first I was weirded out when I thought you were coming on to me, and now I am actually coming on to you."

"Don't mind it that much," I told him and shifted to a sitting position right next to him. "I would probably have died, if I didn't have the lucky connection with the GUIO."

Jerking at that statement, Dejen was putting his arms around me again and started crying. Again, I wish I was good with people's emotions, because I think that pushed him a bit to the wrong side.

"Hey, everything is fine Dejen. I am getting an eye implant once technology has developed well enough," I told him in order to make him feel better. Did I mention how much I suck at that?

He was still crying and I was getting a bit uncomfortable as he held on to the fur around the back of my neck. "Ragnar, if I just had known. I would just have dealt with this myself."

Okay, this is enough mopping already. With a bit of force, I pushed him off me and held him by his shoulders. "Come on Dejen, how could you have known what kind of crazy guy that Lukas is? Plus, I was getting into that fight by my own free will, so I am bearing the consequences. Got that?"

Still sniffing he was putting his head on my chest again and tried to stop his crying. "Yeah, sorry Ragnar. It is just a lot of stuff that is going through my head right now."

"Same here," I told him and pulled him closer to my head, so he could rest his own on my shoulders. "But after we get out of here, I think we both may could do some stuff together. I am getting you interested into something by the weekend, I am sure."

He now chuckled a little bit as he gave me a quick lick on my muzzle. "Sounds wonderful, since I think it really could make things more fun between us, if we had something we could share. Like bowling for example, or, do you like swimming."

"I already got the fur for it, so kind of," I told him and gave him a soft lick on his face. "But bowling sounds like something we could be doing next time you have a day off."

"Well, about that," he now looked away from me. "I will have my loans repaid by the end of this month, and after that I am going to work in a supermarket. You know, I would feel better about that."

I chuckled a little bit as I tousled his head fur. "You just should have told me. If it is loans, I could repay them for you right now for you."

"No, I mean, you already did so much for me," he weakly protested, but I couldn't help put recognizing his smile when I offered him my help.

But I am not going to let him deny it, after all, I am his friend and it would be better for my karma, if I used some of my unlawfully acquired money to help him out. "Nope, I am going to pay for it all. And, actually you could continue your studies since you also get support from the state."

Apparently he did not think about that and his face was so filled with joy, I was sure he would soon turn into a cartoon character. "If, if you would do that for me, I may be able to do so. But, I may want to ask you something as well. If, if you would be okay with that. Can I, move in to you?"

"Well," I pondered a little bit about the place management in my apartment and made a sour face. "You would be sleeping on the couch, still."

"Or we could, you know, use your bed," he said with a seductive tone, which I was sure he must have been using in his job quite a bit. Heck, he even positioned himself close enough to my crotch. "If you, would like that idea that is." Clever boy.

I snickered a little as I let my hand glide over his cheek and closer to him, already planning for...

"Mr. Baardson, if you have a minute, I," Elizabeth had now entered the room, aaaannd I guess she stopped as she saw me and Dejen close to making out. "Um, I was about to ask, if you would like to work with us more regularly. Just fill out the form, if you want, it is that easy," she said as she left a paper on a drawer and rushed out.

I and Dejen had to laugh, which didn't distract me however from continuing what I was going to do. With a bit of slow pace I gave his muzzle a soft bite, as in I didn't really bite but put my muzzle around his. "Alright, I am letting you into my bed. And, maybe into something else." Okay, I broke out in a maniac laughter as that was probably the most cliché innuendo I could have picked for him. "Yeah, I think it will be very nice with the two of us."
