#8 of The Amazing Race 2
On the last leg of the Amazing Race, teams traveled to Zimbabwe, Africa. They got to see Victoria Falls up close and then had to run in Hwange National Park to find the checkpoint. Thanks to the fraternity brothers, the directors won the leg. However, due to consuming bad airline peanuts, Shelly slowed her and Fran and they arrived last. 13 teams are still in race. "Welcome back to Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe." Toner says. "Yesterday's winners are today's first ones up." Amy steps up, presses the button on the clue box and reads the clue.
"Route Info: get 2 seats on the next flight to Madagascar." Madagascar, an island country just off the coast of Mozambique. This country is exactly what gave the movie its name. Teams will travel here and find their next clue at the airport.
"C'mon!" Hector says. Him and Amy run off as the rest of the teams collect the clue and catch cabs back to the airport.

Once the plane is in the air, the game talk immediately starts. "Should we start an alliance with Amy & Hector?" Mitch asks.
"Maybe." Jasper says. "They seemed kinda trustworthy. But maybe we should try to be subtle about it. Last thing we need is for them to be against us."
"Good point."
"Man, I can't believe how awesome this alliance is working out." Kitty says. Kit's asleep; she wanted to get some energy for today's leg of the race.
"I know." DeeDee says. "And if we somehow make it to the finale, that would be the awesomest thing ever."
"Yep. We just have one problem."
"Those Olympic chumps?" Kitty nods her head. "Relax. If it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna make sure those bastards go down to the ground. No one!! Pushes my partner into a lake!!!! Am I right Diesel?" She nudges him with her elbow and he jerks awake.
"Huh? Oh, yeah! What're we talking about?" Diesel asks.
"Victory." DeeDee says.
"I'm so sorry if I blew it for us again." Griffin says. "I'm just not that good of a runner."
"It's fine." Zander says. "If we win the million dollars though, I'm gonna make sure you never have to run again."
"That sounds confusing but ok." Zander rests his head on Griffin's belly and start to doze off.
"We came in 12th yesterday." Rachel says. "But I think Tammy's handling it well. Right, Tammy?"
"Am I handling it?" She says calmly. "OF COURSE NOT!!!!!! 12th place is a shame for people like us. We should be in the winner's circle! But instead, were in the bottom 3. It makes me sick!"
"I'm sure she'll get over it." Rachel puts on headphones and catches a nap.

The plane lands after about 2 hours. All teams head for the clue box outside the airport. "Route Info: head to Club du Rova." Vince reads. "Someone mind telling me where that is?" Club du Rova is in a town called Antananarivo. Teams will take cabs to that club and find their next clue box.
"Let's go!" Maxwell exclaims. Everyone starts racing to get into cabs and drive off.
"We're doing better each day, man." Milon says. "Would it be crazy if we end up winning the whole race?"
"Milon, that'd be awesome." Zax says. "But keep your head in the game. There are people who'd be willing to do anything for the money like a Hans & Claudia last year."
"I don't doubt that."
"Second place." Becky says. "That's awesome! It means we're definitely doing just fine."
"We should keep doing what we're doing: which is just lying low until it's time to play rough." KiKi says.
"Exactly."
"We better not come in 12th again or I'm gonna lose it!" Tammy says.
"Ok. But seriously, calm down. If we end up like Hans & Claudia I'm gonna end you when we get home." Rachel says. I don't get it, she thinks, I wanted to do this race with her to have fun. Now, she's turning all evil just for money.
"We haven't really spoken much since the checked in at Zimbabwe." Eddy says.
"I know." Barbara says. "And we're supposed to be a team."
"Yep. Barbara, what have we been doing this whole race? We bickered, we fought, for pete's sake we're just like Joy & Pain! If we don't stop fighting, we are going to go home!"
"I'm not ready to leave yet! I still have dreams for that money."
"We all do." After a while of driving and GPS reading, teams start to arrive at Club du Rova. Surprisingly, Milon & Zax make it there first.
"One-Way: time for players to do the Golfing Challenge." Zax reads. Club du Rova is known for its golf course. Teams will have to share a single golf ball and hit it 400 yards northeast until they find the hole. Once they sink their ball, they will receive their next clue by a local (black bear).
"Let's do this!" Zax and Milon get their clubs and run off to the starting point. More and more teams get their clue to begin the first challenge.
"Golfing? Never really done that before." Zoe says.
"Yes! I love golfing! Well, on my own times anyways." Griffin says.
"Sweet! This will be a snap! My dad taught me how to golf when I was a kid." Rachel says.
"Good." Tammy says. "Then maybe you can get a hole in one so we can get first place."
"Have you even held a golf club before?" Kitty asks her sister.
"Not really, you?" Kit asks.
"Of course." As the Policefurs, vegetarians, directors, and frat bros arrive at the course, teams start golfing to the hole.
"You can do this, man!" Zax says. Milon holds the club back and swing it, hitting the ball hard and sending it flying.
"Man! Did you see how far that went?" Milon asks.
"I know!" The Arcadia workers run off.
"I've got this." DeeDee says.
"So do I." Griffin says. They hit their golf balls at the same time and they fly off. "C'mon, Zander!" The four of them run off. Kit & Kitty step up, but Kitty points something out.
"Where are Vince & Sam?" She asks.
"Not sure. And although we should wait for them since they're our alliance, we have our own game to think about." Kit hands Kitty a golf club. She takes it, swings it back, and hits the ball hard, making it go far too.
"Run!" Kitty says as they chase after their ball.
"Go on! Make those golfing skill useful!" Tammy says. Rachel grumbles as she puts the ball down. She remembers everything her dad told her about this game. With her eyes facing the direction of the hole, she hits the ball fast and hard, making it go.
"Thanks dad!" Rachel says as the Olympians run off. As Miles & Joey and Amy & Hector prepare to take their first shot, Jasper approaches the directors as Mitch is taking a shot.
"Hey, Amy." Jasper says.
"Hi. What's up?" She asks.
"Nothing. So, me and Mitch were talking and... if you want, maybe the four of us could... work together." Amy looks at him a moment and thinks. Even though it could put her in danger, it might be a good idea.
"Sure." She shakes paws with Jasper.
"Dude! I got it! We've gotta go!" Mitch says.
"See you at the hole." Jasper says as him and Mitch and Miles & Joey run to find their golf balls.
"Let's go!" Hector says after he makes a shot.
"Here goes nothing." Patricia says. She makes her shot and her and Zoe run off.
Meanwhile, Milon & Zax find their golf ball, very close to the hole. "Man! We're almost done." Milon says. He takes a putter and goes to his ball. Carefully, he puts the ball into the hole.
"Sweet!" Zax says. He goes over to the hole and sees another ball in there. "What the heck? There are two in here."
"Huh? Who does the other belong to?" Zax looks carefully at the second ball. On his ball, there the initials MZ on it. The second has TR on it.
"Tammy & Rachel! We've gotta go!"
"What did I hear?! We got in one!!??" Tammy says when her and Rachel show up. The local gives both teams the next clue. "Route Info: get a cab and drive to Le Lac Hotel Ivato."
"Let's go man!" Milon & Zax and Tammy & Rachel run off as Becky & KiKi, Barbara & Eddy, Maxwell & Richard, and Vince & Sam finally arrive at the course.
"We're behind!" Vince says. "Where's the rest of our team?"
"Not sure." Sam says. He goes to take a shot.
"I thought us and Griffin & Zander had an alliance." Richard says.
"Well, let's face it, since Boomer & Joe are gone, we've been nothing but scrambling." Maxwell says.
"True."
"How'd we fall into last?" KiKi asks.
"I don't know!" Becky says. She takes a shot and starts running after it along with KiKi.
"I'm so glad we go on our weekly golf outings." Eddy says. "Really comes in handy here."
"Yep." Barbara says. "Told you it would pay off one day." Griffin & Zander, Diesel & DeeDee, and Kit & Kitty finish the golf course and start racing to the Hotel.
"You've got this Joey!" Miles says.
"I know." Joey says. "The hole is only two yards away." She takes a putter and in one stroke, she makes it in. The local gives the vegetarians the clue. "Thank you!" They run off.
"C'mon Patricia! Other teams are coming!" Zoe says.
"You think I don't know that?" She asks. Patricia carefully sinks her golf ball in two strokes and they're given the next clue.

At Le Lac Hotel Ivato, the Arcadia workers and Olympians continue to fight for the lead. Rachel gets to the clue box first. "Roadblock: whoever didn't swim for flags in Athens must now.. eat some rice?" Those who sat in the sidelines in Greece must eat an entire 16 ounces of cooked rice. Once they're finished, they must proceed to the checkpoint which is right inside the hotel.
"I'm up." Tammy says.
"Me too." Milon says. They're given a bowl of rice. As they start to eat, Griffin & Zander and Miles & Joey arrive.
"Yes! Eating challenges are my thing!" Griffin says. Zander hands him a bowl of rice since it's his turn.
"I guess it's my turn." Joey says. She's handed rice and they start chowing down.

"Wicked!" Jasper says as him and Mitch and Amy & Hector sink their golf balls and get the clue to the next task. Zoe & Patricia and Maxwell & Richard finish the hole next.
"You can do this baby!" Sam says. Vince steps up and putts the golf ball into the hole.
"That was almost too easy." Vince says.
"Then we should probably get going." Vince & Sam run off leaving three teams who have yet to finish the golf course.
"C'mon! We have to hurry!" KiKi says.
"I know!" Becky gets her putter and manages to putt the ball 10 feet into the hole. They get their clue and get in another cab.
"We're in last!" Barbara exclaims.
"What'd I say about arguing?" Eddy says. "If we drive fast we can make it!" Eddy quickly makes his shot and it falls in the hole.
"Great job! Hurry! We might be able to catch up!" Barbara & Eddy run to a cab and start driving off.

The Policefurs and sisters make it to te hotel next and they collect their clue. "Eating challenge, huh?" DeeDee asks. "That stinks. I would've rocked it."
"Whatever. I'll do fine." Diesel says.
"I've never had rice before." Kit says.
"Well, you've been tested for food allergies before and you're fine." Kit and Diesel are handed a bowl of rice and they start chomping down. Jasper & Mitch and Amy & Hector arrive next.
"Wow! This looks awesome." Mitch says. Him and Amy get their clues. "Looks like it's my turn to compete."
"Mine too." Hector says.
"No way! Awesome." Mitch holds out his fist and Hector fist bumps it. Griffin and Tammy continue to fight for the lead with Milon right behind them.
"You can do this!" Zander cheers. "You're an eating machine!" He's right, Griffin says, I am. Griffin tips the bowl vertically and manages to eat every grain of rice that enters his mouth.
"Woah!" Jasper says. "Now that's an eater." Griffin wipes his mouth and opens the door to the hotel. The rug is literally 3 paces inside. Griffin & Zander step on the rug.
"Great job guys." Toner says. "You're in first place."
"Yay!" Zander hugs Griffin tight and kisses him. "I love you, kitty."
"I love you too." The two walk off paw in paw. The race to not come in last has begun. Vince & Sam show up to the hotel next along with Maxwell & Richard and Zoe & Patricia.
"I have to eat rice?" Sam asks as he's given a bowl.
"Looks like it." Vince says.
"You think I can do this?" Richard asks.
"Of course." Maxwell says. "You've eaten worse before, right?"
"True. Have you tasted my dad's curly fries? Disgusting!"
"I guess I'm doing it." Zoe says when she's handed a bowl of rice. As teams continue to chow down (some slower than others), Tammy finishes her bowl and her and Rachel run inside.
"Olympians, you've come in second." Toner says.
"Yes! That is the kind of news I want to hear." Tammy says all calm. That's better, Rachel thinks. Not referring to their placing but to Tammy's attitude. Another team steps inside and steps on the rug.
"Surprisingly, Milon & Zax, you come in third."
"Awesome!" Milon says, hugging his partner.
"I can't believe it!" Zax says. "A couple days ago I thought we were being sent home."
"Me too."
Kit & Kitty- 4th place
Diesel & DeeDee- 5th place
Amy & Hector- 6th place
Miles & Joey- 7th place
Jasper & Mitch- 8th place
"Maxwell & Richard, you've come in 9th place." Toner says.
"Nice job, honey." Maxwell says, kissing Richard on the cheek
"Awwww, thanks." Richard says. Only four teams remain. Which one will come in last? Barbara & Eddy and Becky & KiKi finally arrive at the hotel and they take their clues.
"I got the flags." Eddy says. "So I guess it's your turn."
"I guess it is." Barbara says.
"I can do this." Becky says. They're handed bowls and they start eating.
"Hurry Sam! The other teams are here!" Vince says.
"Almost!" Sam says. He finishes his last few ounces and walks with Vince inside.
"Cruise directors, you've come in 10th." Toner announces.
"Awesome." Sam says. He puts both paws on his stomach. "Also, ow."
"Here." Vince carries Sam off.
"You almost done?" Patricia asks.
"Almost." Zoe says. She gets the last of her rice in and swallows. "Done." The publishers then walk inside the hotel. 11th place. That leaves Barbara & Eddy and Becky & KiKi.
"Hurry, Becky!" KiKi says.
"C'mon Barbara!" Eddy cheers. Both girls only have 4 ounces left to swallow.

"Done!" They say at the same time. Becky & KiKi quickly make it inside and they shut the door in Barbara & Eddy's faces. They step on the rug.
"Mountain climbers, you're in 12th place." Toner says.
"Whew! That was close." KiKi says. As they walk off, the door opens and another team steps on.
"Barbara & Eddy. You're the last team to arrive." Toner says. Eddy pins his ears down and hugs Barbara.
"I just want you to know that I've had fun."
He says. "I don't want us to fight anymore, ok?"
"Ok." Barbara says. As they're hugging, Toner walks up next to them.
"Awwww, ain't that sweet." Toner says. "Know what would make this even sweeter?" Neither Eddy nor Barbara respond. "By me saying that this whole leg was a non-elimination round! You two are still in the race!"
"Really?" Barbara's ears perk up. "Yay!"
"Nice!" Eddy says, letting go of his partner.
"Well," Toner starts out, "we had 13, and 13 still remain. But I guarantee you that someone will go home next time on... the Amazing Race."
