The One Where They Go To Zimbabwe
#7 of The Amazing Race 2
On the last leg of the Amazing Race, players traveled to Cairo, Egypt. They had a choice: search for keys in Al-Azhar park or sculpt a pyramid out of dough. Thanks to a Fast Forward, the fraternity brothers came in first. Thanks to a flat tire, Boomer & Joe came in last and they were cut. 14 teams remain. Who will go next? "Welcome back to the Egyptian Museum." Toner says. "Yesterday's winners are today's first ones up." Jasper steps up to the clue box and takes a clue.
"Route Info: take a flight to Zimbabwe." He reads. Teams will travel to Zimbabwe, which is about a 6 hour flight. It's gonna be a long day for them so, let's hope they can stay awake.
"Let's go!" Mitch says. The rest of the teams get their clues and get back into their cabs to head for the airport. Due to the fact that it's a long flight and it's gonna be an even longer day, we're gonna skip to when they land.

Toner's private jet lands at about 1:15pm. Everyone runs out of the plane and finds the clue box. "Route Info: get a cab and drive to Victoria Falls." DeeDee reads.
"Let's go!" Diesel says. The Poliefurs take the lead while the critiques falls behind. Once teams start driving to Victoria Falls, things intensify.
"We fell behind to 10th yesterday." Kit says. "We cannot make that mistake again."
"Calm down. We're still in this. Four teams have already went home." Kitty says.
"I know. But today, no distractions, we need to have our eye on the prize. Got it?"
"Of course."
"Fifth place is a shame to us Olympians." Tammy says. She grips the wheel hard as she continues to drive.
"If this was an actual Olympic tournament. But it's not." Rachel says. "This is the Amazing Race. There are two categories of team: those in last and those not in last. As long as we stay in the 'not in last' bunch, we should be fine."
"I know. But I want to hear something different other than 5th place for us today."
"That was another close call yesterday." Milon says.
"Yep." Zax says. "But now we're back in this thing and we're gonna start doing petit from here on out, right?"
"Absolutely."
"Now this is where people like us should be, first place." DeeDee says.
"True. But cockiness could get us knocked out of the race." Diesel says.
"Don't be so melodramatic. We're doing fine. Only 13 more to boot out of here and we're paws deep in a million bad bones." Team start to arrive at the top of falls. The clue box is sitting at the top. Policefurs maintain a lead and get there first.
"Detour: Drop or Pop." Diesel reads. "What the hell does that mean?" Team can either Drop, where one member of each team will drop 340 feet below into a safety net while the other member will pull them back up; or they can pop a balloon (10 feet in the air) that's tied to the ground, with stones. Do either and they can receive their next clue.
"Drop." DeeDee says. "That'll be so easy." As DeeDee gets tied to a long rope, more teams show up. Some choose to Drop (Zoe & Patricia, Jasper & Mitch, Tammy & Rachel, Miles & Joey, and Becky & KiKi) and others choose to Pop (Kit & Kitty, Vince & Sam, Griffin & Zander, Shelly & Fran, and Amy & Hector).
"Let's do this." DeeDee says. She jumps off the falls while Diesel holds onto the other end. "Wooooooohoooooooo!!!!" She reaches the net and bounces back up a few feet, before staying on the net entirely. DeeDee tugs on the rope to indicate she's down and Diesel starts pulling her back up.
"This is crazy!!!!!" Zoe yells as she falls.
"This is so cool!!!!" Joey says as she plummets.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!" KiKi screams.
"Yeaahhhh!!!!" Jasper exclaims. Tammy just let's herself fly with her eyes shut. She has a bit of a fear of heights but wanted to go to conquer it.
"Amateurs." DeeDee mutters as she keeps going up. Meanwhile, Kit has some trouble getting her balloon popped.
"C'mon! Why won't this thing burst already!" She yells.
"I know." Vince says. He girls two stones at them and completely misses.
"They're just jumping off and coming back up, so it can't be that hard." Sam says.
"Good point." Kit says. She takes a light stone and throws hard at the balloons. Kitty tries next and everyone hears the familiar sound of a balloon popping.
"Got it!" Kitty yells. Sam picks one up and throws it too.
"Yes!" Sam says. "We're in the lead!" Kit & Kitty and Vince & Sam run over to the clue box and get their next clue.
"Route Info: get back in the cabs and drive to Hwange National Park which an hour away." Vince reads. "Let's go!" The four of them start running back and getting into their respective cabs.
Barbara & Eddy, Maxwell & Richard, and Milon & Zax finally make it there as DeeDee is pulled back to the top of the falls. The three teams get their next clue. "No way am I going to fall!" Barbara exclaims.
"Fine! Well Pop." Eddy says.
"What do you want to do, bro?" Zax asks.
"Although it'd be fun to Drop, we're behind so we'd better Pop." Milon says.
"Pop." Richard says. "Who knows how long it would take to pull me back up?"
"Good point." Maxwell says.
"We can do this, Griffin!" Zander says. He hurls a stone at the balloons but gets nothing.
"I know." Griffin tries but misses as well. "Boy, this is so hard."
"You're telling me." Amy says. "Those things are so far away."
"How'd the twins so this?" Hector asks as he hurls stones at them. They hear a pop. "Oh. Never mind." Amy & Hector run off, get their clue, as drive off.
"You call that throwing?" Shelly asks.
"What?" Fran asks. "At least I'm trying."
"No you aren't. This is trying." Shelly takes a stone from Fran's paw and throws it very hard at an orange balloon and it pops. "See?" Fran rolls her eyes and they run off. Another pop is heard.
"Got it!" Maxwell says. Him and Richard then get their next clue. That's when the people from the Drop challenge begin to reunite. Zoe gets back to the top first. Her and Patricia hi5 and get their next clue.
"Dude! That looked awesome!" Mitch says.
"It was!" Jasper says. "Now let's get that next clue." The frat bros run off.
"How was it?" Rachel asks when she has Tammy back at the top.
"It wasn't that hard once I closed my eyes." Tammy says. "Now let's go!! We're behind!" The Olympians take off soon after that. A couple more balloons pop.
"Finally!" Eddy says. "About time, slow poke."
"Oh I'm gonna tell you something yet, Eddy!" Barbara says. She could continue, but they're in the middle of a million dollar race, so she doesn't and get their next clue.
"It was so awesome seeing nature up close like that." Joey says.
"Really?" Miles asks. "Lucky. Well, we probably should run."
"Crap!" Becky says. "From second place to close to last."
"We should go." KiKi says. Her and Becky run off with their next clue.
Griffin & Zander and Milon & Zax eventually complete the task. At the same time, Kit & Kitty and the Policefurs are the first ones to Hwange National Park. The clue box sits right right outside the border of the park. "One-Way: the Backpacking Challenge." Kit reads. Teams will carry a 20 pound bag on their shoulders into the park. It's a 10k run south until they hit Sinamatella Camp where the checkpoint rug is. Last team there could be cut from the race.
"Let's hustle!" DeeDee says as she grabs a backpack and runs off. Diesel and the twins eventually follow. Vince & Sam make it there next.
"You think 10 kilometers is really long?" Vince asks.
"Yep." Sam says. "We're talking 10,000 meters buddy."
"Oh man!"
"Quick! More teams are coming!" Sam runs off and Vince follows. And Sam's right. Jasper & Mitch and Amy & Hector arrive next.
"Huh. Over never really done hiking before." Jasper says.
"Neither have we." Amy says.
"Good point." The four of them strap on their bags and head off. More and more teams soon arrive to get their next challenge.
"You really need to learn this great thing they've invented called speed limits." Rachel says as her and Tammy get out.
"We're behind! And it's a race!" Tammy get the clue and gets the backpack.
"I'm just saying it won't kill you."
"Whatever." The Olympians run into the park.
"This will be so easy." Becky says.
"I know." KiKi says. "We've done this sort of thing before. This'll be a snap."
"Man. But I'm too tired from all that stone hurling." Barbara says.
"Quiet, woman!" Eddy says. "Can't you see we're in a race to not finish last?"
"This will be great." Joey says. "We get to see more of nature."
"I know." Miles says. "First the waterfall now this? We might as well have won."
"Hope you're a good runner." Zoe says.
"I'm not." Patricia says. "I'm more of a swimmer." Zoe throws a backpack at her and runs off anyways.
"Hurry up!"
"Promise me we'll never act like a married couple." Richard says.
"Of course." Maxwell says, kissing him on the cheek. The run into the park as the remaining teams arrive.
"Backpacking?" Shelly asks. "That won't be too hard."
"Don't jinx us." Fran says. Shelly picks her up and throws her over her shoulder.
"I'm not. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude."
"We've gotta run, kitty!" Zander says.
"I know." Griffin says. "There's no doubt the two of us are in last place."
"Are you talking about us, too?" Zax asks. "I'm sure we'll be fine. Maybe this whole thing will just be another non-elimination leg." Milon & Zax and Griffin & Zander in into the park. The Uptown Crew maintains a lead but the Olympians, frat brothers, and porn directors are close behind them.
"We can't let the Olympians beat us!" Kitty says.
"You think we don't know that!" Vince says.
"Are we there yet?" Diesel whines.
"Don't complain, Diesel! We're bound to be at least halfway there." DeeDee says. She doesn't sound too tired out like the rest of her allies. They definitely aren't going to be officers of the law anytime soon, she thinks.
"There are some other teams!" Tammy points out as her and Rachel slowly catch up to them. Something yanks Tammy back. Knowing more teams are coming, she pulls with all her might and unknowingly rips the backpack off of her and it turns out she was caught on a branch.
"Dude! There are the twins and Vince & Sam!" Jasper points in front of them. They slept catch up to them and unwittingly pass the Olympians.
"Hey guys!" Mitch says as they pass the Crew.
"C'mon! We need to pick up the pace!" Kitty says. The six of them start to run as fast as they can towards the checkpoint. Amy & Hector stay close to Jasper & Mitch and stay between them and the twins.
"There's the checkpoint!" Jasper says. Toner sits next to a campfire and the checkpoint rug. Jasper & Mitch reach Toner, but they see Amy & Hector behind them. "We already won, so..."
"You're right." Mitch says. The boys step aside and Amy & Hector stop running on the rug.
"Amy & Hector, thanks the fraternity brothers sacrificing a second win, you guys come in first." Toner says.
"Really?" Hector asks. He turns to Jasper & Mitch. "Why would you do that?"
"We already won yesterday." Jasper says. Him and Mitch step on the rug. Second place. "So, it's only fair you guys win today."
"Thanks guys." Amy says. The four of them step off the rug. The Crew and Olympians come into view of the checkpoint and continue to run for it.
"Diesel & DeeDee, third place." Toner says.
"Booya!" DeeDee says. Her and Diesel step off the rug.
"Tammy & Rachel, fourth."
"Well, that's a little better." Tammy says.
"Except you're getting a 20 minute penalty."
"WHY?!?!?!"
"Where's your backpack, Tammy?" Tammy looks behind her and sees her backpack missing. Rachel shakes her head and the girls step off the rug. More teams step on the rug.
"How'd we do?" Kit asks.
"You girls are in 4th place." Toner says.
"Yes!" Kit & Kitty say together.
"Vince & Sam, congrats, you're in 5th place."
"Yay!!" Sam hugs Vince and they kiss.
Becky & KiKi- 6th place
Miles & Joey- 7th place
Zoe & Patricia- 8th place
Barbara & Eddy- 9th place
Maxwell & Richard- 10th place
Another team bursts out of the forest and steps on the rug. "Huh. Never expected to see you here." Toner says. "You'd you catch up?"
"We had a lot of sugar before we left Egypt and we knew the energy would come in handy." Milon says.
"Yep." Zax says. "It helps motivate you especially knowing you could be cut from the race."
"Good point. 11th place. Well, that leaves Griffin & Zander, Shelly & Fran, and Tammy & Rachel who have 60 seconds left in their penalty." Tammy grows nervous and angry at the same time.
"C'mon Griffin!" Zander says. "The bus drivers could be there by now!"
"I'm trying." Griffin says. Due to Griffin's size, it's a bit hard to run for him. They hear a noise in the distance. Disturbing and horrific at the same time. It motivates the boys to go faster.
"Oh man." Shelly says, falling on her knees.
"Told you you shouldn't have eaten all that airline food." Fran says. Shelly hurled a bit earlier and it forced them to top. Suddenly, Griffin & Zander run past them, causing Fran to get into panic mode. "We have to go!"
"I'm trying." Shelly slowly gets up and slowly jogs towards the checkpoint.
"Here they come!" Toner points out. Griffin & Zander come out first with Shelly & Fran out soon after. Toner looks at his watch. "Time's up! Tammy & Rachel come in 12th place."
"Whew!" Rachel says. Another pair of feet make it to the rug next.
"Griffin & Zander, another close call. 13th place." Toner says.
"Oh my goodness! That was close!" Griffin says. Shelly & Fran slowly walk onto the rug.
"Sorry ladies, you're in last place. So, you're out." Toner says, straight to the point.
"There's now way out of this, is there?" Shelly asks.
"Trust me, you're done." Toner walks away.
"Awwww, man! This bites!" Shelly says.
"Let's just go." Fran says, turning around. "Who knew that a bunch of expired peanuts caused us to be eliminated from the race?"
"I thought I felt something going wrong with my stomach as we were driving to this park." Shelly says.
"Whatever. Let's just get you home so we can get that problem taken care of."
"Ugh. Fine."
