Chapter Twelve: E = MC2, Part Two

Noon jumped into Chaos, his body morphing and changing as Twilight was hopeless to do anything. Noon's shadow grew as he became taller with body turning into liquid mass and building on itself. As the shadow stretched into the forest grove, the trees slowly started to lose their color, turning yellow and leafs falling off as Noon reached his final height.

He looked like a massive pig beast standing over the forest grove, he had to be twice as tall as the grove and his shadow reached the interstate. As cars passed through it, they crashed into the wall and stopped. Twilight walked away from the shadow, looking as everything caught in it died.

The beast looked out roaring, with a defining blast. It looked over to Las Vegas and stepped forward, draining more life with its shadow as it walked towards the town. Twilight realized that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the beast, he needed a ride to catch up with the beast before night and its shadow became the world.

Twilight gasped as Chaos!Noon walked away, the massive pig like beast draining the energy from the wildlife as he walked away. Twilight watched, looking at the beast as it continued down the Interstate towards Las Vegas, its shadow draining the lives of so many people as he did.

"That person is a complete monster." Twilight said angrily, walking forward trying to figure out what he was going to do and how he could ever possibly catch up with the beast. He walked away from the rock cliff, looking around and making sure that no black book pieces were left behind.

He walked forward looking at the first thing that was damaged and drained of its life forces; the forest grove looked like a fire had a grudge against trees and burnt only those down. Twilight looked as the "fire" continued its way all towards Noon.

He walked forward, his mouth wide open as he walked looking at the massive beast charging towards Las Vegas. Based on the time that Noon said that they had traveled, it would probably be at least four hours till he reached Las Vegas again, just in time for nightfall.

Walking forward he walked up the interstate ramp, taking a look at all the death and destruction that had just been caused. He looked into the windows of the stopped cars and it was like a horrible jump scare. There were dead skeletons sitting in the seat of the cars, acting like nothing had ever happened. Twilight knocked against the window and the bones collapsed.

"This is worse than I thought, I need something, plan B, come on plan B." Twilight looked around, walking forward he found the interchange exit sign and read it. Based on what he knew of the area, he wasn't in Nevada anymore. He turned around and walked forward, hoping that he could maybe catch up with the beast and stop it.

"Beaver City, where is that?" Twilight asked as he continued down the road. Little did he know it but he was in Utah, on I-15, a hundred or so miles from boarder, if he wanted to get back to Las Vegas, he would definitely need a vehicle. Suddenly behind him a car stopped right next to Twilight, the Kagen shark looked over to the car and was amazed at his luck.

"Well, well, well look who decided to leave Las Vegas." Out of the car walked Nikolai, looking at Twilight and confused about both the massive pig beast going towards the largest population point and the multiple stopped cars.

"Nikolai, good I need you to drive me to Las Vegas, you might think I'm crazy but that thing is going to kill everyone in the city if we don't get going now!" Twilight said as he walked around Nikolai's car, the astronaut draconic looking at him as he opened the door and sat down.

"Ok, first thing what is with all the stopped cars?" Nikolai said as he looked over to the car that Twilight just investigated and thus saw no bones. He walked in the car and started up again, driving forward.

"That massive thing, if you're in its shadow you will die, and all these cars were. Now when we need to get around this thing, so do you think you can get us to Las Vegas first, but without taking this route?" Twilight asked as the reign of stopped cars continued and it would probably continue all the way to Las Vegas.

"Also might be good to get away from this car congested road." Nikolai asked as he searched around he found the signage for the next exit. He continued forward avoiding cars on the road as they made their way towards Las Vegas.

...

"Ok, this is going to hurt a bit don't worry, you'll be fine." Eric said to Jackson as he inserted a little grabbed into Jackson's wound and grabbed the bullet. Jackson squeezed his hand as he pulled out the metal bullet and threw it off to the side, not being important. "One down."

"Really glad we have you on the team." Jackson said as he groaned a bit. His arm muscles felt sore and there was a bit of a hole in them as well. He groaned in pain as Eric pulled out the next bullet. Luckily, Eric had a medical kit with him and managed to patch Jackson up nice.

Suddenly Jackson heard something, he stood up and walked over to the entrance of the cave. Eric saw as he was blasted back, multiple bullets flying into his leg knocking him back into the cave and safety.

"Oh come on, I just got this leg fixed up." Eric ran over to Jackson side and pulled him back deeper into the cave. He looked out and heard the blades of a helicopter spinning. Suddenly two ropes fell from its side and two men descended from the helicopter. Eric pulled Jackson further and got ready for more combat.

"Don't worry Jackson, I'll protect you, here's the kit don't bleed for me." Eric said as he rubbed the pain-stricken Jackson, hoping to calm him down. "Don't die, I love you and don't want to lose you again." Eric walked and decided to transform into a werecrocodile for the last time today. He walked out, turning into a werecrocodile, his muscles forming and his body mass increasing.

He walked out, the helicopter fired and Eric hoped that his scales would resist machine gun fire. He screamed as the bullets knocked off his scales, pushing him back as he tried to confront Ruby's men. He waited knowing that he could wait for the machine gun to run out of bullets and then he jump off the edge of the cave and land on the helicopter.

He continued forward, bracing his body for impact as he took the machine gun. The two agents fell out of the helicopter sliding down to the ground as they joined the firefight. Eric found an opportunity and slid to the left; running forward hoping to be faster than the helicopter's turning. He jumped into the first agent, knocking him out with his heavy weight. He jumped up, grabbing a tree and knocking down with him.

The helicopter erratically flew up to avoid the falling tree. Eric looked up his eyes filled with anger as he wanted to make the helicopter pilot want to regret there decisions to come out into the forest. Eric ran over to the edge of the cave, and jumped off the rock face pushing himself in air and towards the helicopter.

Eric grabbed the helicopter's leg as he barely got airborne. The helicopter pilots screamed as suddenly the center of mass was very, very to the left of the helicopter. The helicopter spun out of control and very nearly crashed into some trees as Eric, decided to help them not crash and grabbed onto the other side, balancing the helicopter and only pulling it down as Eric tried to get it to land, without killing himself.

Eric pulled himself up and then gave up, his temporally falling body adding enough mass and pulling the helicopter down. Eric let go and threw himself at the rock wall, but instead of flying up, the helicopter promptly put itself landed on the ground.

Eric sighed as he flew over the helicopter blades, barely crashing into them. When he landed he heard yelling and a commotion on the ground. The agent that wasn't knocked out, put Jackson into the helicopter and suddenly it took off, Eric running towards it as it flew into the sky with his love.

Eric yelled out in angry, causing the helicopter pilot to fly up quick, Eric once again jumped up hoping to bring the helicopter down but it was too far gone, as he arced in the sky his body fell right under the helicopter and he wasn't able to grab it out of the sky.

Eric screamed in pain as he landed sloppily on the ground, barreling as he hit a tree and stopping him.

"Damn you Ruby, If you weren't dead, I'd kill you all twice!" Eric said threatening the pilots of the helicopter. It flew away at the full speed and before Eric could get out of the forest, and to the highway it disappeared beyond the horizon. Eric looked around he needed to get back to Las Vegas, hopefully he could track Jackson with his tracking device.

He looked around, and walked back hopefully towards where he thought was Las Vegas. Eventually, the forest ended and when it did, he looked around and found that he was in the San Bernardino Forest, in California, all the Outsiders were currently out of their own state and they needed to get back.

Eric started to make his way back towards Las Vegas, running at full speed across California as he did Twilight woke up; and as he made his way back towards Las Vegas, the final Outsider woke up.

Koji woke up with a jolt shaking around as he realized where he was, and he was currently afraid and alone, waking up as he stood in alone in a box; he looked around standing trying to figure out where he was. He looked around and heard a truck engine in front of him.

Standing up the shark felt the metal for weaknesses but found nothing of use. It seemed to be covered in a magnetic surface and as he scanned through it the Outsider couldn't even find one single electric current in it.

He slowly turned around as the tranquillizer dart wore off from his body. He drowsily turned around and looked around. He could see some sort of bronze like metal on the edge of the box; he figured that was what was keeping him from absorbing electricity.

The dart's medicine wore off and Koji nearly feel, shaking around the trailer as he felt around it. He realized that he was trapped in the metal box, like a goat getting ready to be eaten by dinosaurs. Koji laughed, he liked that part in the movie, the goat getting dropped and suspense building.

He walked around as more and more of the dart wore off, Koji becoming fully aware of the situation as he realized how screwed he really was. His eyes opened wide and he put his arm on the wall, slowly sliding down to the floor and feeling it.

He shivered feeling the cold edge of the metal bog as he lied down on the side of the box. He curled up and realized like six years ago, once again he was all alone, no one was coming to save them, and they were all dead. Koji felt a tear come out of his eye and realized that due to the crime he committed against Afternoon, he was going to be personally killed for what he did.

He shivered around as thoughts entered his head; he falsely realized that he was the bad guy. He took away the god from Ruby's people twice. He committed blasphemy in their eyes and he needed to be punished. He figured he would be burned at the stake or hung by rope; something terrible to repent for his crimes.

He was wrong, he should have trusted Ruby and went against Twilight; he was the monster, trying to upset the status quo and manipulate people. He saw a white light before his body, he touched it and it shook at his touch.

"Don't give us Koji, you are the good guy. Ruby, Afternoon; they are evil remember what they did to Molly, what they did to you and how horrible it is." The light or Koji's subconscious mind said reminding him of his morals and why he was fighting today.

"Still what's the point, I'm going to die in a few hours and isn't that just great. I going to die, I am going to die today, I am going to die!" Koji moaned as he realized what was going to happen. He had never felt mortally in danger and yet now he did, blood rushed through his body and his brain reactivated.

"And isn't that great, blood rushing through your body, everything tell you what to do to live and the pure courage and will to carry on and fight another day, is it not amazing even you an Energywalker can have the ability to fight on another day. " The light said disappearing from the box. Koji looked around; the box looked to be just large enough for him to move around.

There was a bit of light coming out of the top, so that air could circulate in the box and he wouldn't die of lack of air. Which was general important to have. He reached up and his fingers wouldn't exit the box, he couldn't feel any energy or absorb that much defocused light, he was still trapped, but he had a will to live and that was important.

He needed ideas, stuff that worked stuff that would get him out of the cage alive. He needed to get out or he was dead meat. He tried punching the wall but it didn't dent. He didn't have any energy to release on the wall, he had what he had in the box and that was his clothes.

"I want to live; I want to continue my race!" Koji said loudly as he banged against the wall of the metal wall. He continued to slam it, hoping to weaken or dent it, make a mark so that someone would investigate, but he found his efforts fruitless, and He sighed and thought about him and life.

He was an Energywalker, but without energy he was useless. He looked around him, seeing nothing to absorb or to useful to his escape. General Graham Cracker and Chaos had gotten him trapped. He wondered what Molly would think of him now, how his legacy and destiny would continue on now.

He laughed as he realized that she probably just told him that to help him through the transition to Twilight, that it was nothing important, just a white lie she had told. He laughed and lay back against the walls of the box, he figured if it was his last few hours he would remember the good times and the bad times.

If I may say last words then Koji, I am sorry that I can't train you any further, but you will still inspire generations on ends of generations." Twilight's last words said to him as he was about to die on a space station, the most true and pure way to get the truth out of someone.

...

"So we're back on Earth, you have four people on your Outsider team where are they?" Nikolai asked as he drove down an interchange and on a rural-ish looking road. They passed through the dead stop that Noon made and Nikolai looked in amazement as he saw the damage that could be caused.

...

"As it appears the shark known as Riptide, is an e..." Koji remembered the file, he realized that Ruby knew what he really was, and that is why he wanted to capture him.

...

"They spilt us up and need to get us back together, Koji he could destroy the world accidentally if he discovers his power and they go out of control. Also don't tell anyone of our identities." Twilight said explaining to Nikolai.

...

"It's strange you know trying to get to your world, and finding one of you here. I never thought that one of your own would survive. However, there are more dangerous things to worry about." Koji remembered Twilight's first words to him, at least ten years ago, he was trying to really figure out his memory when he found out that he was older than he thought.

...

"What can he do, how can that destroy the world?" Nikolai asked wondering what Twilight meant. Twilight shouldn't of told Nikolai, but in the heat of moment he did.

...

"My people the Kagens fought a race known as the Energywalkers for the sake of the Earth's creation. We were the bad guys and I have done my atonement for what I did. The Kagens, the Kagens, they were trapped in alternate dimension." Koji remembered Twilight saying that and why the Kagen wanted to save him was explained.

...

"He is the last member of a race known as the Energywalkers, he can absorb and release energy he finds but that not the extent they go to. I've been vague about his full powers." Twilight said explaining.

...

"You are an Energywalker, beings of energy given the form of another race, and my race, our race was involved in a terrible war with the Kagens. One day you might meet the nicest Kagen, Twilight. Stay with him and reunite the races and end the million year long war. Koji I believe in you, and I love you." He remembered his mother saying that and his hand glowed as he stood up.

...

"And that means?" Nikolai asked as he moved in front of a car, he was driving about ninety miles per hour but everything around them was still dead, his shadow was still increasing.

...

"Outsider files reports state that on that date, Koji was found in an empty diner with a massive hole in the freezer door, care to explain?" He remembered Jackson saying that, Koji was still confused about what happened.

...

"He can take and manipulate energy, absorb it release it but that not the full extent of what he can fully do." Twilight said still being vague.

...

"I'm guessing that I knocked the door closed which melted due to the radiation from the opening tear." Twilight said making the same smug face as Jackson when he realized that he outwitted the orca. "So than any more questions?" Twilight explained that but it didn't make sense with in his own memories.

...

"Ok, what can he do just tell me, so I can know what we're getting into" Nikolai said forcing Twilight into a corner, and forcing him to spill the beans.

....

"I can see it Koji, your destiny, your legacy and it's amazing, Twilight's memories opened up a look into the future, I can see it and how we all play into it. Somethings are fuzzy and I can't figure it out but there will be sacrifices, but Twilight will help you even if he doesn't know what I know, even if there will be sacrifices." Molly said through his memories, Koji remembering how she looked up at Eric but she was really hiding her face.

...

"Well he's an Energywalker, but they should be called Matterwalkers. Did you know that according to this guy, Einstein, he might be important in your world, but he stated that energy is equal to mass of an object times the speed of light squared and that is his power." Twilight said skipping around the bush a bit.

...

He stood up and his hand continued glowing, he put his hand on the door and suddenly the glow spread to the door and he pulled away. Koji braced and the glowing sections disappeared turning to blobs of energy, flowing into Koji's hand and strengthening him.

Koji opened his eyes and the hole disappeared and he could see the moving road before him.

"E = MC2, mass can be converted into energy." Koji and Nikolai said in the same reference point of time, Koji looked down at his hands realizing that he absorbed the wall and he could feel it in him, the energy moving around his body. He felt powerful and like he could do anything.

...

"Koji when he is trained or figures it out, he can take massed objects and absorb them like energy, be can also take energy and convert it back into mass or make it have mass. Now we need to get to Las Vegas, if I trained Koji right he'll be there, give me some full power." Twilight said as Nikolai nodded, the car speed up finally entering the deserts of Nevada as he did.

...

Koji looked around; he needed to get out of the cage and escape. He held the edge of box and looked out. The world looked great, he seemed to be on Route 93, somewhere around the once ghost town of crystal springs. He jumped off the cage and landed on the ground.

He looked around, the town was empty, but instead as the times went buy people built attractions to help revitalize the town. There were robots standing in front of saloons, drinking fresh water; there were robots riding horses, and drinking fresh water; an amusement park built around a fresh spring didn't sound like a very good idea.

Koji walked forward, avoiding the robots and he walked out through the hot desert sun and reached the top of a hill at the end of town. Looking forward he could see the border into Utah, a fresh line of trees forming a clear boarder, however looking towards Las Vegas, there was something more disturbing in the sky.

Just above the tree line was some sort of beast, walking towards Las Vegas, a line of dead trees just behind it. That didn't look good, Koji thought as he continued on; if he ran to Las Vegas he could make it back in day, and there was no way that he could even run that fast for that long.

He looked around and he remembered something. He turned around and looked at the robots on the horses. He pushed on off and jacked the horse from the attraction. The horse neighed as he pushed himself up onto the horse and he whipped it, the horse ran off going at least faster than Koji could.

Cresting over the hill the horse got speed as he continued down highway 93, going out from the town of Crystal Springs, by the look of it the beast seemed to be somewhere on I-15 between the border of Utah and Arizona, it would soon enter Nevada and soon Las Vegas.

He continued down the road, tracking the beast as he hopped to get ahead of it and somehow stop it. He hoped that Twilight would be their first and they could reunite there. He figured that the massive beast was close to being created by Noon and or Chaos.

...

"Ok, stay on this road until we get to some sort of horrible amusement, then continue on this road down south that should get us to Las Vegas we'll recombine with I-15 and we can decide where we want to fight the beast." Twilight said as Nikolai drove through some town called Caliente. They were almost their and the beast seemed to be passing through Arizona, they wouldn't have much time to confront it.

Nikolai continued forward twisting and weaving through the twisted highway. Twilight held on as the draconic drove down the highway, knocking dust off the unused highway as they tracked the beast closer and closer to Las Vegas.

"Ok, question we might have or not have Koji when we get their but what exactly are we going to do when we confront the beast, we don't have much in fire power here and we aren't going to have enough time to collect weapons." Nikolai asked as he continued down the road through the barren desert. It was about five o'clock and they had about four hours until the sun set.

...

Eric was amazed at what his Werecrocodile body, as he climbed up the mountains of the Sierra Nevada right before the board, as he reached the tallest point of I-15. Looking down he could see the board of Nevada and California; he would just need to get to a border town called Primm and he could rent a town to complete the last of the distance to Las Vegas.

"What is that?" Eric asked himself as he looked behind the bright and flashy lights. On what seemed to be following I-15 to the north of Las Vegas, their appeared to be a massive pig-like beast approaching Las Vegas. He had no idea what it was but he needed to stop that before it destroyed something important.

He continued on going at full speed down the mountain towards Primm.

...

The car continued on, driving down Route 93 at full speed, Eric driving down Interstate 15 northwards and Koji keeping ahead with the lead he secured. All three groups got to the intersection of US. Route 93, with Interstate 15 they grouped up.

...

As expected the car was as multiple time proven, faster than the horse and both Twilight, Koji and Nikolai met up in a car stop, right before the intersection. Koji stopped his horse as the car pulled over right behind him. He barely made the horse stop and barely, fell off as he dismounted the horse.

"Twilight?" Koji asked as he stepped away from the horse, looking inside the interior of the car. Twilight stepped out of the car and looked in amazement as he saw Koji. He ran over to the shark and they hugged as they reunited.

"How did you get out of the cage?" Twilight asked as he was practically jumping for joy.

"I don't know, my hand glowed and suddenly the metal plate disappeared like it was nothing." Koji said as he put his hand out, and suddenly it glowed. The metal plate appeared again flying away from Koji as he threw it out of his body. Koji looked confused as the metal plate landed in the desert, taking out a cactus as it stopped. "Like that but opposite."

"Well, you know that matter is energy, but don't do that again but we can start training, for now we have to deal with that massive beast, so any ideas." Twilight said, eyes widening as he realized that Koji discovered his powers. He would need training but the beast needed dealing with first, training would have to be held on another day.

Suddenly another car pulled up as they looked at the slowly approaching beast. Eric stepped out looking around hoping that Jackson would join.

"Ok, massive beast what is happening?" Eric asked the big question first and Twilight decided to do the smart thing.

"Everyone in the car, we're doing the final battle and by you, I mean only I can defeat this thing." Twilight said shoving everyone in to the car, Nikolai driving off but instead of going down I-15, he crossed under the underpass and took a road going adjacent to it.

"Ok, the beast wants life energy, also which is Noon's true from right their but don't worry, well it should get ready because I have plenty to give." Twilight said as he commanded Nikolai to stop the car right in front of a warehouse. "Now then stay away."

The beast noticed Twilight in the border between civilization and desert, laughing at this as he changed his focus to the tiny Kagen god standing a mile before him. The shadow passed through the desert, cacti and not much else getting drained of life energy as he the shadow slowly approached the warehouse.

"Stay back, I can take this you guys can't!" Twilight yelled as the shadow was a mere meter away from him.

"Ok, good luck Twilight, don't die, I need training!" Koji yelled as he ducked back into the car hoping that Twilight was telling the truth. The shadow expanded over the desert approaching Twilight, the shark instead of waiting walked forward into the shadow.

Twilight feel on his knees in the shadow, his body even for more than a second lasting longer than most people had in the dark area. His body started to glow as Noon drained Twilight's body of energy. Regeneration energy flowed between Twilight and Noon attacking the large beast as Twilight gave his life force.

He braced and continued on, throwing everything he had into the attack. Noon stood back as the regeneration energy engulfed his body. The beast suddenly exploded and the shadow disappeared as Twilight feel to the ground. Twilight wasn't moving and in what seemed to be a last revenge tactic, all the pieces of Noon's massive pig body were flying to the ground.

Nikolai saw this and knew he could help he ran out to the shark, wings bursting out of his shirt and icy particles forming on his body. Koji gasped as Nikolai spun around Twilight, an ice shield forming on his back as the pieces crashed into his body.

Nikolai flicked the ice off his back and Twilight stood as he started at the draconic's wing, which would be fine except draconics did not have wings, the only people in the universe dimensions to have reptilian wings were...

"Kagen Dragons." Twilight said as he backed up and looked at the massive wing span of Nikolai. He backed up into the arms of Koji as he tried to realize what was happening.

"Don't worry guys, this will all make sense soon." Nikolai said as he laughed folding his wings back in.

...

"Are you sure you're ok. You just have what seemed to be all of your regeneration energy in bout?" Koji asked Twilight as he shined a flashlight in Twilight's eyes. Sure they now had a Kagen Dragon and Jackson was missing but in the end so long as they were together not even an iceberg could really pull them apart.

Benji feeling a tingling on his head turned around and then nearly blinding him a portal appeared before him and Twilight. Looking at it the sharks wondered what was going on in there. Putting his hand out suddenly another shark's hand appeared.

"I am Benji, reincarnation of Bright and for what you have done you will pay!" The shark said as it jumped out of the portal and punched Koji in the face.
