I remember my father's story well. His cousin, Jason, getting shoved and turning into a Pokemon during a class. The fight to stay alive and safe that followed the weeks and months after. He never really recovered from all of that. Who can blame him? Yet, there is much to the curse we do not know. The WPO has researched obsessively since the destruction of Team Styx's aura machine. They were attempting to find a way to reverse Uncle Jason's condition. To this day, no results have surfaced. These are the many things that run through my mind as I get ready to go visit Aunt Hannah and Jason. My cousin, Jacob, has subtle hints of the Lucario DNA, too. Suddenly, I hear a knock at my door.

"Lee," my mom says as she peaks in.

"Yea?" I answer.

"I'm ready, are you almost set to go," she responds.

"Yea, just need to get my shoes on," I shoot back.

I get my shoes on and we head out to the car to head to Uncle Jason's. It takes a few hours to reach their house, so I pass the time by watching the environment. I see a group of Lucario rush by heading back the way we came. I think nothing of it at the time since there were Lucario camps all over the area on the way to uncle's. We finally reach the house and pull in the driveway. I notice a Lucario doing yard work out front as I get out.

"Oh hello, Lucario. Is Hannah Simmons home," my mom asks.

There is a moment of silence as the lucario locks eyes with my mom. I can't help but get curious as a look of shock washes over her.

"What is it, mom"

"The Lucario....is...Hannah!"

"You're joking, right?"

"She is not, my dearest nephew," a voice in my head calmly says.

I jump in complete fright. It takes me a good 2 minutes to calm down and realise that it was the Lucario talking.

"Aunt Hannah, what happened?!"

"Jacob became a Lucario and transformed his girlfriend and me. Everything is okay, though. I'm afraid Uncle Jason has been missing for a while. The WPO suspect a kidnapping."

"Kidnapped?! I thought Team Styx was over."

"They think it's a copycat group, called Team Pheonix."

"Any clue if they might try what Styx did to Uncle?"

"I don't know."

The look on her face began to make me worry extremely. I couldn't even begin to fathom what Jason was going through. And what about Jacob? He has a strong amount of Lucario DNA, just like his father. Will he be a target as well? I'm so deep in thought, I don't notice that both my mom and Hannah have already gone inside. I head in and Hannah is in the kitchen, making lunch.

"Jacob, Andrea and Luna had to go, so I don't know what company you'll have right now, Lee."

"It's ok, Aunt Hannah. I'll just visit Narri's camp."

"Be careful."

"I will."

I finish my lunch and clean up. After I put my dishes in the dishwasher, I head out to the camp. Walking through the overgrowth on the way to the camp, I hear some heavy activity in the direction of Narri's camp. I duck behind some cover and look around for the source. There are a large group of hostile people and pokemon converging on the camp. I watch in horror as the Pokemon firebombing the camp. The moments after were absolute chaos. I make a split second decision and rush forward to see if I can try and find Jacob and the gang. As I reach the entrance of the camp, I look around in the hopes of spotting them. I notice one group of Lucario and riolu running in a different direction than the others. I make a move to catch up to them but everything goes black. I feel myself helplessly fall and hit something hard. It feels like an eternity. Absolute darkness. Deafening silence. Something warm flooding my chest. Pain. The unbearable pain! I jolt awake and look down at my chest. I see.....FUR?! BLOOD-SOAKED FUR!! I roll over screaming as I glow a brighter blue. My bones begin snapping and shifting. I feel my ears push up towards the top of my head. My nose and mouth morph and elongate. The pain of my fingers and toes bonding together into three stops me in place. My clothes begin ripping as my waist widens and my sternum grows outward. I collapse in agony and attempt to examine my changed body.

"I'm a.....a....A LUCARIO?!"

I take a moment to process this statement, until I realise, my mouth never moved. I was speaking telepathically. But to whom? I look around and see nothing. Then I remember my new species and tap into my aura vision. I see a wounded riolu. I can tell by the strong distressed aura vibrating from it.

"It's okay, young one. I'm here for you."

I make my way to the riolu and gently pick him up.

"You're wounded badly. I need to patch you up, immediately."

The riolu nods in agreement.

"You have a name?"

The poor thing has to draw his name in the dust and ashes. As I read, it says Fodiiz.

"That's a nice name."

Suddenly, I get an idea. I once knew a Lucario who learned how to mend wounds with aura. I remember exactly how he did. So I decide to try it. As I raise my ha-paws to his chest, he lets out a slight whimper. I close my eyes and can feel aura surging within me. I see a blue spark flow from me to him and can feel his distress lessen. But then, it fizzles out. I collapse from exhaustion.

"I'm sorry, I tried..."

The riolu slowly wags his tail and cracks a soft smile.
