Lykos Chapter 18 (Uncertain Companions) Written by Leo_Todrius and Trickster_D

Silver clouds rolled across the skies of Texas, darkening Houston in ways it was hardly used to. The weather services were dumbfounded, but at least the south hadn't had the flooding that other parts of the country were facing. Every so often a tiny hole would break in the clouds, allowing pillar of light to descend like search lights, combing across the city. Whenever one of them would strike the new Futurza tower, the glass and steel spire would shine like a beacon of hope... or at least that was how the marketing department had wanted to brand the phenomenon. The public had different ideas.

While the upper levels of the building offered fantastic vistas and panoramic views of the city, the lower levels had been inundated with a different view. Protesters had come from across the nation, screaming and chanting and shaking their signs in disgust that a company would work with the newly revealed 'monsters and terrorists' that had attacked so many on the day of the eclipse.

Cement barriers had been set up from the building entrance to the street and a mix of police and private security patrolled the 'gauntlet', ensuring the protesters remained on either side. This was easy enough as the status quo, but it was something else entirely when someone tried to enter the building. For Logan Adair, it was the hardest thing he had ever done. The blond Texan boy had been holding up in his parents attic for almost a month. His normally well toned skin had paled a bit, but his hair swept forward in waves before rising up into a fashionable crest above his dark brown eyebrows.

He moved forward, eyes downcast at the cement as people shouted slurs, calling him a monster, a beast, a demon and a killer. Logan knew he had never killed anyone, but he couldn't rule anything else out. His foster family had been shocked during the eclipse as he transformed for the first time into something else, at least the first time they had seen. He shuffled forward, a backpack slung over one shoulder holding every meager possession he had left.

Soda cans and small stones pelted him, though the letterman's jacket helped soften the impacts. The police and security swarmed to try and stop the assault, but Logan didn't care. His only hope was in Houston. His only hope was Futurza. He pushed on even as a shard of glass sliced his cheek. He pressed on even as the slurs got worse, and finally he reached those glass doors. They slid open in silence and with fluid grace. Cool air rushed out, perfectly balanced with humidity and scent.

Logan still pressed forward, his dusty boots tracking in some of the street much onto the white stone floor... but when the doors slid shut and the chaos of the crowd disappeared behind him, Logan closed his eyes and a tear of relief ran down his cut cheek. It had been grueling to drag himself out, but he had seen the commercials. he had followed the hashtag. Hope was here. The answers would be here. His future would be here. Logan slowly opened his eyes and was a little taken aback.

With so much strife and turmoil outside, he had anticipated more going on in the building. What he saw instead was one receptionist sitting in the center of a perfectly circular desk, a half dozen flat screens playing the Futurza adds on mute, and a woman dressed superbly in fashionable business attire moving toward him. He almost backed away as the woman strode toward him, as if she was going to eject him back out of the building into the angry mob waiting outside.

"Welcome to Futurza," the woman said in a pleasurable contralto voice, extending a perfectly manicured hand. She was probably in her early 40s, and the body under her business suit practically screamed: "Yes, I can afford a personal trainer" to everyone around her. Her ethnicity was difficult to pinpoint: her skin has the tones of caramel, her hair was dark and silky and there was something oriental in the shape of her eyes. "My name is Sunshine," she added, and then beamed Logan a smile that was as blinding as her namesake. "I'm sure you are confused and scared right now, but do not worry: we are here to help. There is hope here."

"Miss... Sunshine?" Logan asked, a faint quirk on the corner of his lips. Perhaps he had died. Perhaps he'd passed beyond the gates of hell and reached the ground floor of heaven. Could corporations buy heaven? Logan spun around as something hit the glass sliding door, but the odd diminished thunk sound that resulted from the impact of the brick revealed that Futurza did not invest in simple materials in the construction of their building. There hadn't even been a scratch left behind.

"Oh, don't mind that!" Sunshine said in a dismissive tone, waving a hand in a casual gesture. "There are people out there that aren't... well, in tune with our philosophy. Though I'm sure they will change their mind, eventually." Another perfect smile. "Can I ask you your name, my dear?"

"It's Logan, ma'am." the young man said, the hint of the Texan accent tingeing his otherwise mercurial appearance. Sunshine nodded and gestured the young man to follow her down a long and anonymous, aseptic-looking corridor that branched off from the main loop around the exterior of the building.

"And what brings you here, Logan?" the woman asked in a friendly tone. "Of course, Futurza would welcome you with open arms anyway," she added as an afterthought.

"I... I don't know what to do or where to go. Ever since the eclipse, I can't... I can't..." he murmured softly, wincing as his fingernails pushed out into dark black claws. Sunshine, with no hesitation whatsoever, took the mutating hand into her own, caressing the back with surprisingly kind gestures.

"No need to be worried, Logan. Futurza's mission is to be a beacon of hope and salvation for every therianthrope in the world. I'm sure we'll be able to help you harness your mutation and ease your mind," the woman said, looking straight in Logan's eyes.

"Really?" Logan whispered, "Why is Futurza different?"

"Because we are not fueled by hatred and rage, like the savages out there," was Sunshine's answer. "We believe that a peaceful and fruitful cooperation between humans and therianthropes is possible. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to live together in peace, am I right?" the woman murmured in a business-like tone, as if she was talking about a new and exciting product that was ready to hit the shelves.

"What should I do? How do I... help?" Logan asked uncertainly. Sunshine, however, shook her head, her raven hair bouncing elegantly against her shoulders.

"No need to fret, Logan. For now, you should just relax and get acquainted to the building. Our experts will be more than happy to guide you during your stay... Well, after the obligatory medical examination, of course."

"Obligatory..." Logan murmured, "There gonna be a lot of needles?" he asked softly, rubbing his palms.

"They will only take a blood sample, don't worry," Sunshine replied in a motherly way. "It will be over before you even realize it. Our experts know very well what they are doing."

"Alright then, anything's gotta be better than bein' out there." Logan said with a soft smile, following after Sunshine wherever she led.

The steady ticking of the classic clock sounded on the wall, all too apparent to the werewolves in the room of the Washington home. Artyom had always hated that clock, but it had been passed down through the generations so it remained, punctuating the moments.

"So..." August was sitting on his new bed, cross legged on the mattress. He had taken yet another bath on Marya's insistence, and now he was in the boys' room, everyone's eyes on him. All of the attention was making him feel really uncomfortable, but he had to swallow his pride. "Um... well, as I was telling Yom, I think you at least deserve an explanation about why I raided your snacks and why I behaved like an assho... I mean, why I behaved the way I did." He looked around, carefully avoiding the looks of the others; the room was messy and crowded, but... it was also full of life and energy, and made August felt a bit warmer inside, a sensation he wasn't quite familiar with. The boy scratched his head, as if he was battling against fleas. "Um, okay, well... I dunno where to begin, so... maybe you guys should ask stuff or whatever."

"Well, how long have you been a wolf?" Yuri asked, for once not on his phone. He had always been very inquisitive and the gab fest seemed like the perfect opportunity to satiate his curiosity. August frowned, even though he was expecting that kind of question to be the very first.

"It was the middle of March... Basically some weeks before that horrible eclipse," he explained. "So, well... only a few months ago. Guess you guys have been werewolves for a lot longer, huh?" His dark green eyes stared at the five guys around him, one after the other; they all seemed much more well-adjusted and comfortable with who they were. Well, except the hipster, of course: he totally didn't smell like a werewolf. Of the five, he was probably the biggest mystery.

"Me and my brother were born wolves... Udo and Marco were turned, but they've been them for a while now." Yom explained.

"Yeah... Still trying to figure it all out myself." Marco admitted, leaning back against the wall. August nodded, very slowly, a million of different questions floating in his brain. Better not open that can of worms for now, he told himself.

"And, well... Um..." the young lone wolf looked embarrassed all of a sudden. "I got... Well... I didn't get bit. If you know what I mean." An awkward moment of silence followed. "I was at this party, it was still when I kinda had a home, and... you know, everyone was drunk and stoned out of their minds, and there was this tall fit guy with flowing blond hair and the most charming smile, and..." August fell silent again as his eyes narrowed. "Yeah, I like guys, okay? You got any problems with that?" he murmured in a seriously defensive tone. It was pretty clear he had been shunned and bullied for his sexual preferences before. Yuri had to suppress a giggle, pulling out his phone as a defense mechanism. Udo smiled softly.

"Yeah, our whole pack is gay..." Udo said gently. August's eyes bulged a bit.

"I'm sorry, what?" he exclaimed, barely suppressing a small grin. That was frankly too good to be true. "Like, all five of you?"

"A large percentage of the werewolf community is gay, or at least bisexual. It's an evolutionary thing. No problems with supernatural pregnancies or a heightened risk of autoimmune rejection." Yuri said without looking up from his phone. "Of course, there are some exceptions like mom and dad, but since we usually live in packs and we don't need heterosexual sex to create more of our kind, we don't really need traditional families."

"I... I see," August mumbled. Now that he knew that the bond between the guys was much tighter that just friends, he could actually notice some small hints: how closely they sat to each other and especially the very faint traces of their own personal scents left on each other's bodies. Just thinking about the pack having hot and passionate sex was enough to make his dick harden a bit in the tracksuit pants he was wearing. "I... I mean... Wow... Who knew that?" he said, trying to calm himself down and hoping nobody had noticed that his breathing had gotten a little heavier.

"So you became a wolf... Didn't fall into a pack with the blond boy. Is that when you started running, or was it the eclipse?" Marco asked. Fletcher's eyes fell downcast at the prospect, fearing he might be at fault.

"Well... that guy fucked me, as you can imagine. Next morning he wasn't there anymore, he probably didn't even remember what he had done. At first I thought I had gotten some kind of weird STD, especially the first time my dick changed," August gulped, his eyes getting cloudy. "It was the fucking scariest thing. I was sure I had become a monster or something... so yeah, I ran. Ran away from my home and my father and my old life. Never looked back. Until, well, now."

"Yeah, I guess... I sort of did the same thing. I mean, I went to the farthest college I got accepted at to get away from all the shit back at home, but when I became a wolf? It was like that old life just sort of died." Udo admitted. Yom looked almost stunned at that revelation. August looked at the blond emo wolf and nodded, his lips pursed.

"Pretty much. Which in retrospect is probably a good thing since my old life sucked," August laughed, but the sound was metallic and bitter and hollow. "My name is August Blue, and that's pretty much the only thing my mother left me. I've never known her... I don't have a single memory about her. My father tried his best to raise me, of course... But he has never been father material. At some point he just... Gave up, I guess. We were basically strangers living under the same roof. I wonder if he has ever realized I'm gone."

"Even the worst people can recognize when someone is gone, but... that doesn't mean you have to worry about it. If it wasn't a supportive place, you aren't beholden to it." Marco murmured, "If it's something you want to look back to once you've gotten your feet under you, that's always an option."

"We're getting off track guys, he may not even want our advice, just a chance to come clean..." Fletcher said, elbowing Marco in the ribs. Marco closed one eye, giving Fletch a face. The room, however, was suddenly filled with an unexpected sound: August had burst into a small fit of what sounded like a genuinely amused chuckle. When the street urchin realized what he had just done, his eyes went wide and he pressed a hand over his mouth, as if to silence himself.

"I... I'm sorry," he murmured. "I'm not really used to be around other people like this. I mean, like... People actually being that friendly towards each other."

"I know it can be hard to adjust to a whole new world, but if you can put up with us, we don't mind having you around. We'll share everything we know about being wolves, and whenever you want to move on, you can." Marco offered.

"Share... everything?" August murmured, spelling every syllable as if it was some kind of mystical mantra. "Well, I... I don't know anything about werewolves, except from what I have experienced first-hand during the past few months. I mean, since then I've never even had sex with anyone else, because I didn't want to end up turning them into, well... Monsters..." he said the very last word in the tiniest voice possible, his eyes lowered.

"We're only monsters if we let ourselves become that... Otherwise, we're pretty cool." Yom said from where he sat, knowing that August knew what he had once turned into.

"I guess... But I had no one, you know. Nobody to tell me what had I become and what to do." Until now, his mind completed the sentence automatically, but August shook his head. No, he firmly thought. They had their lives, he had his own. "Although... Yeah, seeing you guys here, and all of this... It's a bit more comforting than before, at least." The young man cleared his throat with an awkward sound. "I think the worst moment was my first actual full moon, in May... I didn't know it was going to happen, since I guess the eclipse majorly fucked shit up, right? I was sleeping under a bridge in a park in the middle of this small town in Arizona, and..."

"Yeah, it did really... mess it all up." Marco muttered.

"So what happened for your first full moon?" Yuri asked.

"Well, the physical changes were pretty traumatic... when I realized I was turning into a real werewolf I managed to take shelter in a small patch of trees nearby. It felt as if my whole body was being dismantled and rebuilt... There was no pain, but it was such a weird and alien experience my mind went blank for a while." August shivered. "But that wasn't the worst part. When the transformation was over and I was standing over the remains of my clothes, a real powerful beast, the moonlight shining all over me... the instincts of the wolf converged into my brain. I wanted to run, to howl, to experience the joy of hunting a prey, to mate... and yet I didn't. I didn't want to be discovered, to be hunted down and killed because of what I was. So I stood there for the whole night until sunrise, and when I became human once again I was exhausted, naked and cold. And alone." August wrapped his arms around his legs. "It was one of the worst experiences of my life."

Yuri moved over and leaned in, hugging August. The other boys tensed a bit, knowing that the young man might not react well to being touched. The sentiment was shared though. It was hard to imagine having to face all of that alone or the amount of will power it must have taken not to give into one's instincts without a keeper there. Indeed, August growled at Yuri, his canine teeth becoming pointier and more menacing.

"The hell are you doing?" he hissed. Despite the rage in his voice, though, he looked incredibly fragile, as if his body was made out of colored glass. Yuri blushed a bit and pulled back, crossing his arms in front of his waist.

"I'm sorry, I just... That sounds so scary and brave and lonely and you really had to be strong not to give in, it's..." Yuri muttered, feeling embarrassed at what he had just done. Yom put his hand on Yuri's shoulder and guided him back to the corner he had been standing in before.

"I'm not used at being hugged," August admitted. "Or touched, or kissed, or... whatever." The boy sighed. "I'm sorry I'm such a mess, okay? I... Didn't want to scare you," he added, looking at Yuri and patting his hand on the mattress next to him. "Do you... Want to come back here? I promise I won't growl at you again." Yuri looked a bit uncertain at that but he moved back over and sat down on the corner of the bed.

"I feel like we need to run down what we know about the basics." Marco said softly, "Though after that eclipse the rules have changed so it might not be all that accurate anymore." Marco amended. August scratched the beard on his chin with an index finger.

"Um... I dunno much, as I said. I know we change once every month during the full moon nights, that we can change other people into werewolves via a bite or sex or I guess blood, and... well, of course I know about the average werewolf abilities: you know, enhanced hearing, enhanced smell, strength, resilience, fast healing... That kind of stuff." He looked around. "Did I forget something?"

"That pretty much covers the biology of it, but there's more to it." Yom said. Udo smiled a bit at that.

"Werewolves have been around since Ancient Greece, it started out as a curse but some of them made it their own." Udo began.

"And pretty much from the start, there have been humans trying to protect the werewolves from being discovered. Some are gifted with magic, others are just really smart. We call them Keepers because they kept the secret, they keep us safe." Yuri added. August's eyes bulged.

"Magical powers? Seriously?" he muttered. "Though I probably shouldn't be that surprised..." His eyes wandered to Fletcher. "So I guess you are the keeper of the pack? I mean, you are not a werewolf, right? 'cause you totally smell different from the rest of us." Maybe that could explain why the hipster guy's aura - for lack of a better term - looked different from that of the average human: maybe it was because he had keeper magic in him or something like that.

"I wish, I mean, that would be really cool and all... I don't know if I've shown much promise yet though." Fletch admitted softly. August nodded.

"Anything else I need to know?" he asked, looking at Marco in particular: he still couldn't get rid of the weird sensation that there was something peculiar about him. He felt some kind of magnetic attraction towards him, as if he was the center, the core of something.

"Well, uh, I'm sure there's a lot but... There are hunters out there, and there are direwolves... Ones that can't keep a grip on themselves and really do become monsters... But there are things like moonstones to bring the wolf out when we need it too." Marco said, wishing he had a better grasp on the new world order.

"And how about the pack? I mean, how does it work?" August asked. "Like, does it work like with actual wolves? With an alpha and everything? Do you guys do everything together? Is it, like, some kind of telepathic bond or something?" From his viewpoint as a literal lone wolf, the topic unnerved and fascinated him at the same time.

"Yeah, I guess it fits that pretty well with the lore... I mean Marco is our alpha." Udo said with a smile.

"Udo and I were in another pack, but when Marco became a werewolf we liked the way he did things better, so everything sort of clicked into place." Yom added.

"Makes sense," August observed. "He seems like a cool guy." A small but definitely cocky grin appeared on his lips as he stared at the Hawaiian youth. "Not to mention extremely pleasing to the eye."

"And you haven't even seen him in a loin cloth." Fletcher winked mischievously. Marco rolled his eyes. August licked his lips.

"I mean, you all look good, to be honest..." he went on, a glint in his dark green eyes. "If all werewolf packs look like yours, I'd definitely try to get myself one," he joked, a bit awkwardly.

"I'm sure there are a lot of options ahead of you that you'll like a lot. You just have to open yourself to the possibilities and find a group you feel safe with, comfortable with. Otherwise there isn't a point to the pack." Marco said sagely. August grinned.

"Well, I can definitely see an option I like a lot right in front of me, to be honest..." His flirting skills were a bit rusty, but he felt determined... Even though "desperate" was probably a better definition.

"Well, if you're going to be sticking around we better let you met our Keeper." Yom said with a smile. August grumbled in frustration: he apparently couldn't get through them, at least not in a roundabout way. Yuri was giving him a rather bemused expression.

"Yeah, sure..." he murmured in a half-hearted tone. "So, what does your Keeper do? Do they, like... throw fireballs or some nifty stuff like that?"

"Well, the most common trick is energy projection. Barriers mostly... Keep wolves in a certain space when they are wild, and keep those that need protected in when there are threats outside." Udo replied.

"Um... makes sense," August kept massaging his chin. "Sounds like a very useful power to have." The young man stretched his arms, making noises not unlike a cat. Fletcher closed his eyes a bit at that, though Yuri seemed to be eyeing August like a piece of meat, somehow more pleased than ever that the young man was staying in his room. "And what do you guys do? Or, well, should I say we guys, I guess? I mean, what's our purpose? Do we fight the bad guys? Save the world?"

"That's... what we've been trying to figure out since the eclipse." Marco said, reaching up to scratch his beard absent mindedly, "When we were in college before, we were trying to figure out our own lives... How should I be a good alpha? How do we work together as a team? How do we make the lives of the wolves around us better? Can we do all that and still keep the secret? But now the world knows wolves exist. The hunters are out in force... I'm not sure what we do next."

"So... you mean like we are the Jedis and the hunters are the Empire?" August asked, cocking his head a bit towards his left shoulder. Fletcher grinned a bit at that.

"Trying to avoid order sixty six." Fletcher nodded, "But do you go into hiding to survive, or keep trying to be a Jedi?" August growled a bit at that: not menacingly, but with slight annoyance.

"I dunno... Never been a team player," he grumbled. "But, you know... I may be a jerk but I'm not an asshole. We got some cool powers, I think we should use them, somehow."

"Damn right." Yom grinned from where he was standing.

"Well... That's probably true. The question then is where do we start? I think the keepers will try to handle things at the political level, get us legal rights or something... So do we go after the hunters? Try to make a safe place and an underground railroad to get wolves there?" Marco considered.

"Um... can't we use the Internet or something?" August asked. "Like, setting up a website that can act as a front? Something that isn't easily traceable. Almost everyone uses computers and cell phones nowadays, right? Though it shouldn't be too obvious or it would be suspicious..." The young man growled again, this time in frustration. "Damn, why is it so hard?"

"No, that's a good idea... I don't know if any of us have the skills, but..." Marco trailed off, looking at Artyom. Artyom tilted his head like a curious puppy before his eyes widened a bit in consideration.

"We'd have to find out if he's still alive." Yom replied gently, "Unless you mean..."

"They are our best two bets." Marco said.

"Who in the hell are you talking about?" Udo asked.

"A keeper who dissected a hunter's laptop, and a hunter that used the internet to track down wolves until his change of heart." Marco replied.

"So you guys are pals with a former hunter?" August asked, his eyes bulging a bit. "I mean, he should be the very first person to ask for help, right?"

"Probably, I mean... he did help us survive..." Udo said, rubbing his arm, "I guess some wolves might have trust issues, but no one's going to know the hunter tricks." August let out a low and broken chuckle.

"Yeah, I know a thing or two about trust issues..." he murmured.

"Well, I want to thank you August for giving us some ideas on what to look into for our future... But in the meantime, do you have any other questions?" Marco asked. August lowered his eyes and started fidgeting with his fingers.

"U-um, well..." he murmured. "Do you... guys mind if I stay here a bit? I mean, I want to help, and not because just I want to repay you. I've been searching for my own path my whole life, and... you know, maybe this will help me find it. I think."

"That's all we were hoping for in the first place, to help you find your path. I think it'll help us find ours too." Marco replied.

"That'd be a first for me, honestly," August chuckled again. The idea of actually being able to help someone else was quite foreign to him. His eyes wondered to Yuri, who was still sitting in the corner of the bed. "And seriously, dude, wanna come closer? I promise I won't bite."

"Really?" Yuri asked with a soft grin, scooting closer until he was hip to hip with August, giving him an almost dopey smile. August grinned back and moved some inches closer to him.

"I could practically smell that, man," he replied. "And honestly I don't mind. I mean, you're, well, cute and all." And he definitely was: each and every boy in the bedroom was really nice to look at, and Yuri was no exception with his boyish looks and almost naive charm.

"You really think so?" Yuri asked. Yom murmured a bit and excused himself from the room, disappearing down the hallway. Marco smirked at that, patted August on the shoulder and followed after Yom. Udo and Fletch, however, seemed less likely to leave.

"Definitely," August replied with an impish grin. His dark green eyes flickered towards the other two boys in the room; he felt a bit disappointed that Marco had left, but he was glad someone had actually stuck around. "How about you two? Lots of space here..." he said, patting on the mattress with an opened hand.

"Marco's still getting used to wolf life, and Yom... Well, I mean it's his brother... But me? I'm a bit more well versed." Udo said, moving over, putting a hand on August's rust colored stubble before he leaned in and kissed him with surprising passion. August let out a startled moan, but then his eyes glinted as he pushed Udo's body against the mattress and returned the kiss, his tongue hungrily sneaking into the emo wolf's mouth, savoring his sweet, thick drool.

"Mmmh... tasty..." he murmured as he broke the kiss. He started licking the boy's neck possessively, tasting his skin. He hadn't had sex in months, and the heightened werewolf libido was making him extremely horny; he could already feel his dick tenting against the fabric of his pajama pants. Udo reached up, tangling his fingers in August's hair, holding him to his neck, but August felt another set of hands coming around him as Yuri's hands slipped up his abs, finding his nipples before pinching and tugging on them before he leaned in and licked the back of August's neck.

"Oh, yes..." August murred. He found very difficult to maintain his human form; he felt his ears growing, becoming pointier and fuzzier, and his eyes blazed yellow and they stared into Udo's irises. "M-man, this is so hot..." The idea of being able to have sex after such a long time was almost surreal. August took off his t-shirt, revealing a slender but toned torso with a decent amount of reddish body hair. "Keep playing with those nipples, dude," he whispered to Yuri before going back at kissing and licking Udo. Yuri leaned in and gently bit August's ear.

"Let it out, let your animal out..." Yuri whispered, his fingers playing with his chest hair before tugging almost painfully on the nipples. Udo was massaging August's groin, and from the edge of their perception was another sound... the sound of flesh on flesh, of rapid masturbation as Fletch blushed and panted in his chair.

"F-fuck..." August could feel his nails developing into curved claws as they sank into the mattress. A copper-furred tail slithered out from his pants, wagging gently in the hair. A wet spot appeared near the elastic, right where his human dick was slowly and pleasurably being reshaped into a pointy, veiny and juice-dribbling canine cock, the Prince Albert dangling from the very top.

Claws sliced open August's pants with no regard to the material before Udo plunged his mouth around the hot canine phallus, sucking and slurping, batting at the piercing with his tongue. He dropped his head lower, taking in more as Yuri came around and kissed August fiercely. It was a flurry of touches and scents, of sex and lust... and of the saber toothed tiger.

August froze, the familiar and yet alien smell hitting his nose. He looked around the room, horniness clouding his brain and making his vision a bit fuzzy... Was that a trick of his mind? He had completely buried the accident with the prehistoric animal, telling himself it was just a product of his exhausted mind... So why was that smell there again?

No clues presented themselves. Yuri's cheeks had grown fuzzy blond and his ears were pointed, his claws extending from his fingertips as he nibbled and bit on August's lower lip with an urgency and desperation, practically sitting on Udo's head in an attempt to get at their sexual target.

August snarled in frustration, but then decided that the saber tooth tiger, wherever it might be, could wait: he had two cute werewolves at his disposal, it would've been really stupid for him to waste such an occasion! His mouth opened, and his tongue wrapped around Yuri's with a predatory intensity, right as more precum dribbled from his dick and right into Udo's mouth. Man, that boy sucked cocks like a pro! He was probably going to make him cum pretty quick, he realized, and not caring. August's clawed hand wrapped around Yuri's penis and started jerking it up and down as he kept kissing the boy and sucking on his thirsty tongue.

Yuri grunted and moaned as his cock stretched... and stretched... and stretched. It shifted into a point, gaining veins and plumping up, taking on a decidedly canine knot at the base, but he was quite loaded for bare. He whimpered and panted, stirring something in August, the feeling of having someone subservient to him, needing him for satisfaction. Yuri's fangs came in and his eyes shifted golden as he made out with August, humping against his chest. As Udo sucked, a clawed hand snaked around August's hip before a finger began teasing at his entrance. August let out a small, broken moan at that intrusion attempt, and looked down at Udo with a huge, fanged grin.

"What? Wanna fuck my hole? Gotta deserve that first, you know?" he said in a low, husky tone. "And speaking of holes... bet your butt is so fucking juicy, pup," he added, looking straight at Yuri before going back at frenching him with unquenchable passion, his mind still pumping the Russian boy's phallus. Claws scraped and scratched and prodded at August, but for the first time it was a good pain. The stinging was something coming from a source of pleasure, of release, of joy. Yuri was practically oozing with precum, wetting down August's stomach while Udo slurped relentlessly at the cock filling his jaw. August groaned in pleasure, feeling the wolf juices soaking into every pore of his skin, their unique smells mixing together into an exciting and delicious new aroma.

"M-man... you guys are too good..." he grunted as his hips started moving up and down, basically face-fucking Udo. "G-gonna cum any moment now..." He tried to resist the captivating allure of the upcoming orgasm, but with every passing second that call was becoming more and more irresistible. So August did the only sensible thing he could, plunging his tongue deeper and deeper into Yuri's mouth, grabbing the boy possessively and pumping on his plump and slippery bestial cock for what it was worth.

Yuri let out a howl and unleashed spurt after spurt of hot, incredibly thick yellowed werewolf cum all over August's chest and stomach, coating his hairy abdomen in webs of spooge as the young man writhed and whimpered and panted. Udo's head bobbed even more furiously, intent on milking August of his seed. August looked down at his chest, a curious look in his eyes: with a clawed hand he scooped some of Yuri's cum and plunged the fingers into his mouth sensuously, the wolf fluid dissolving on his tongue. The taste was incredible, much saltier and more intense than human cum. As if that very taste had triggered some kind of reaction in his body, August felt his balls churning and his own dick unleashing a small torrent of pure wolf juice down Udo's throat as a small roar of satisfaction emerged from his lips.

"Careful... you might get addicted." Yuri whispered, leaning against August, looking at him with doe eyes, "I know I did." he murmured. Udo meanwhile gulped at the seed greedily, taking it down from August's cock, practically humming with satisfaction. August pulled Yuri close for another passionate kiss.

"Well, you can suit yourself anytime, pup," he said in a joking tone. "My dick's yours to suck. Hope the same goes for you." Yuri rolled his eyes at that but snuggled against August more, clinging to the provider of such a hot sexual escapade.

August stepped out of the bathroom, after yet another shower. After the short but intense threesome, he was feeling great... much better than he had felt in months: it was as if his body was traversed by a pleasurable electric current. As he ruffled his hair to get them dry, August even started humming a random tune. As much as that sensation was weird and almost alien to him, he was feeling... happy.

It seemed his mood had rubbed off on Yuri who, for the first time in months, was happily taking part in chores and doing things around the house without being glued to his cell phone. Yom and Marco had returned to the living room when the others had played. The news was still on, but both of the wolves were taking down notes, writing out ideas, and trying to get in contact with their lost comrade. They had apparently been galvanized in their new direction.

Following the trail of smells and sounds, August took a peek inside the living room. When he realized Yom was there, he lowered his eyes and felt some blood blossom over his cheeks, but still he cleared his throat to attract the attention of the two.

"Um... can I help you guys with something?" he inquired, tentatively.

"Yeah, we can have an idea cramming session." Marco said, "We need your perspective on some things." he said. Yom looked up at the television as the coverage of the press conference continued. The speaker was keeping his cool as best he could.

"Once again, as Congress receives depositions from countless numbers of individuals that have stepped forward, we don't yet have a clear picture of what happened yet. What is becoming clear is that this... culture, has existed within our own for some time, effectively in secret. The president, along with branches of Homeland Security and the FBI are working to come up with a real action strategy to prevent the attacks of the blood eclipse from happening again, but we have to be careful not to repeat the mistakes of the past and recriminate an entire portion of our population for the activities of a few that may or may not be part of it." The press secretary responded, clearly annoyed with trying to remain calm in a room full of sensationalized reporters.

"There are stories about Russian President Vladimir Putin rounding up wolves to eliminate threats to the public populace. Why is President Obama hesitating?" Another reporter asked. Once more the press secretary's eyes narrowed.

"The rhetoric involved is a bit steep here, Phil... We cannot roundup citizens without just cause. We live in a democracy. Once again, until our justice department has enough facts to act on, this administration cannot take steps that jeopardizes our citizens right of remaining innocent until proven guilty. The exception, of course, are those our law officials have positively identified as being involved in the attacks. Most of these accounts have been provided via private and public recording devices." The secretary replied.

"How do you positively identify a direwolf unless you have them in custody?" Yom muttered with dismay. August sat on the floor, cross-legged, and glanced at him.

"S-so... you can't? I mean..." the young man shook his head in frustration. "Damn, I don't know shit on the matter. Like, do you think police actually has captured some of the direwolves that caused all that shitty stuff during the eclipse?"

"They did. They caught several with tranquilizers or injuring them enough that when they reverted they couldn't get away. They have a few on video reverting back with a clear enough picture that they can identify who they were."

"Before the eclipse, direwolves only came out once a month during the full moon. Unlike us, they'd tear their way out through their human self like those nasty horror movies with the popping and the ripping, and then the human would have to do the same thing the next morning." Marco said.

"But since the eclipse, they're able to do it... whenever." Yom added softly, "I think we are too, but we're not sure yet." August's eyes bulged.

"What?!" he exclaimed, suddenly a lot more lively. "You mean we can, like, change into wolves whenever we want? I mean, that... would definitely help being like Jedi. Although, if direwolves can now change whenever they want too..." August's brow furrowed. "That makes them a lot more dangerous."

"With the storm raging we haven't really tried to experiment, but I don't know when it's going to calm down... It's been going worldwide more or less since the eclipse." Marco said softly, not wanting Fletcher to over-hear them.

"Well, man, that's like... a pretty major thing, you know?" August went on, his eyes sparking. "You definitely need to try harder, 'cause... well, something like that would totally blow my mind. I mean, as I told you at first I was scared by my full moon form, but... if we could achieve that and be completely in control? That would kick major asses."

"So far all we managed was to not transform during the last full moon." Marco smirked softly. August pursed his lips.

"Um. That's kind of a bummer," he grumbled. "I guess that's at least something." The young vagabond stared at Marco's face intently while massaging his own chin in quiet contemplation. "Does that have something to do with those blue eyes of yours?" Marco looked at Yom and Yom nodded softly. Marco took a deep breath.

"There's something we didn't tell you, and if you want to leave after we tell you, we'll understand." Marco said gently, "We were at the epicenter of the eclipse, the heart of everything that happened. There were bigger factors at work... Mainly an evil ancient werewolf spirit trying to get back into this world by possessing a friend of ours... The spirit managed to reset the curse, but then he died because of our interference. " Marco said, taking another breath, "The turquoise eyes are a sign of reaching a focus and a spiritual clarity strong enough to override the werewolf's baser instincts, to get control over it." August stood still for some long seconds, breathing slowly and regularly.

"Wow. That's... A lot of information to digest," he murmured. "But, I mean... You guys basically saved the world already! That's fucking awesome!" Without him even realizing it, his copper-furred tail had appeared from his pants and was wagging behind him. "Oh, man, I have maybe two hundred million different questions!"

"You don't have to hold back. We don't keep secrets in this pack." Yom replied. August looked back at him, scowling.

"Yeah, except I'm not part of your pack, as far as I know," he growled in a bitter voice. Was Yom messing with him?

"Oh, well in that case..." Yom murmured. Marco elbowed him before looking back at August.

"There's no reason not to ask some of your questions." Marco said. August nodded slowly.

"Well... okay, question number one: the thing that happened during the eclipse... Did it also involve a sabertooth tiger, by any chance?"

"What?" Marco asked, looking surprised, "Uh, no... Just werewolves, direwolves, a hunter and a keeper." Marco said. August stared at the alpha wolf intently, trying to catch him off guard... but he didn't appear to be lying: his face was relaxed - albeit a bit puzzled - and his heartbeat was regular.

"Um... well, who cares. Question number two: are you the only one who got the blue eyes?"

"Udo and Yom can show them too at times... It sounds like there were a few other wolves around the world that got them around the time of the eclipse too." Marco replied.

"That's a pity," August muttered. "'cause, you know, they look very cool. Not to mention really hot." An awkward chuckle followed. "And I'm pretty sure they are tied to what you said about getting more in control of the werewolf power, so... maybe we should focus on that?" The young man looked from Marco to Yom. "Um, question number three. Okay, not really a question. Dude, I'm sorry me and your younger brother did stuff together... Well, I'm not really sorry, it was great. Do you think it's a problem if we keep, you know..."

"If you can keep me and mom from seeing it, everything will be fine." Yom replied sagely, his deep voice resonating in August's diaphragm. Just hearing Marya getting referred to made August's back straighten and a tiny amount of fear glint in his eyes.

"S-sure..." he grumbled, lowering his eyes. "So, um... question number four. And don't worry, this one I totally get if you don't want to answer. The "friend" who got possessed by the ancient evil direwolf... was he Fletcher? 'cause you just said "a friend" and that sounded like you wanted to protect him." Once more Marco hesitated before he nodded. He was about to speak when Yom jumped in.

"Before we figured out how to make our pack work, I was... jealous. Marco became a werewolf saving my life, giving me CPR and I bit his tongue. He became an amazing wolf, but he didn't want anything to do with the campus pack or me really. Instead he was falling in love with Fletch. After being rejected, I felt crushed. I lost myself into becoming a direwolf, and I killed Fletcher." Yom said softly, "We thought at first it was Keeper magic that brought him back, but he made a deal with the spirit of the first direwolf, not knowing the terms."

"We didn't find out he was leading a double life until right before the eclipse, and then it was almost too late." Marco amended.

"Despite that, he still isn't a werewolf, though, right?" August asked. "Although... He seems a little different than the average human. Like, his smell... Or, well, not really his smell, but more like something that radiates from him. Like some sort of energy... That's a bit different." He fell silent. "Or maybe I'm just full of shit, who knows."

"Does he smell different?" Marco asked Yom. Yom considered.

"I mean maybe we got used to it over time? We don't hang out with a lot of humans anymore." Yom replied.

"You don't think that's where... he goes all the time? Oh god, Yom, what if... Demeas is dead, isn't he?" Marco asked. Yom put his hand on Marco's shoulder.

"He is dead and gone, I'm sure of it. More importantly, Ren was sure." Yom said.

"So why you guys just didn't, well... turn him into a werewolf?" August said as if that was the most natural thing to do. "I mean, I'm sure the guy will love that. Being in a pack with three werewolves and staying human sounds like a weird thing to do."

"There's an old adage for werewolves; one of us, one of them or not at all. Werewolf, direwolf, or dead. You can't tell what the outcome will be when you turn someone." Yom said softly.

"He wanted us to turn him into a werewolf, I just... don't want to risk losing him again." Marco replied shamefully. August, however, let out a low whimper.

"Wa-wait... Wait a second... You mean when that guy fucked me in the ass, I could've turned out dead or a fucking direwolf?! Oh, man..." August grabbed his head with his hands, his breathing a bit heavier. "That's so fucked up..."

"It is... I'm sorry." Marco said, reaching out to rest his hand on August's arm. The boy turned his head a bit to look at Marco, and did his best to muster a tiny smile.

"Um, thanks. And sorry for what I just said. I... I really didn't know." He sighed. "Man, this must suck for him..." The touch of Marco's hand was extremely comforting, even though it was such a simple gesture. For a moment, August realized he didn't want Marco to leave him alone anymore. He longed for someone like him to guide him and teach him... but then the boy shook his head, sending the stray thought back where it had come from. "And it must suck for you guys too."

"Well, we found a system that works mostly." Marco said, though it was clear he was concerned now about Fletcher again. Something wasn't adding up, and once more it had taken an outsider to illuminate that fact to them. August, his body shuddering a little, placed his fingers on the back of Marco's hand and looked at him with the same eyes of a stray puppy.

"You... are worried now. Is it my fault?" he asked in a feeble voice. "Is it because of something I said?" He hadn't much cared about what the other people around him might have thought during basically his entire life, but August somehow felt that making Marco upset wasn't the right thing. He wanted him to be happy and strong and wise as he could be.

"It isn't your fault, don't worry August... There's just so much going on these days to keep track of. You helped remind me where my priorities need to be." Marco said with smooth reassurance. August gave him a tiny but genuine grin.

"Glad I could help!" As soon as those words left his mouth, the young man's brow furrowed. "Man, I can't believe I actually said that..."

"Don't worry, no matter how sappy you sound, we won't judge." Marco smirked. August nodded, a bit relieved by those words.

"So... about what we could do..." he said. The three of them went on discussing possible steps they could take, and for the whole conversation August didn't feel out of place or scared or angry... Not once.
