#15 of So Furry Presents: The Amazing Race

On the last leg of the Amazing Race, the remaining teams had to travel to Orlando using any means necessary. And boy was that taken literally; Angie & Jennifer got a flat tire after confronting the bakers but got a police escort. However, it wasn't fast enough, and they were eliminated from the race. 3 teams left. 1 millions dollars. One of these teams is walking home with the money. Welcome to Part 2 of the finale of... The Amazing Race.

***

"Hello." Toner says. "I'm currently on a plane with the three remaining teams who are still in the race. Here with me in first class is Tommy & Regina, the restaurant workers."

"Can't believe it! First place!" Tommy says.

"Calm down!" Regina says. "We're in the lead now; but that can change any moment."

Toner walks towards the back and enters coach. "Here in coach is Brent & Syd, the humans."

"I hope you brought your running shoes, Syd. This game is about to go into overdrive." Brent says to his partner.

"I'm aware." Syd says. "Just watch out for you know who."

"Also here in coach," Toner continues, "is Hans & Claudia, the malevolent Cake Bakers."

"Ohhhh, I can almost taste the money." Claudia says.

"You might to get your claws fixed." Hans says.

"Yep. One of these teams is going to win the money by sundown." Toner keeps on. "Once the plane lands, teams will continue racing until they reach the finish line."

***

The plane lands at around 1:15 pm. The teams get off the plane and race outside where the next clue box is. Tommy gets the next clue first. "Route Info: get an Amazing Race can and drive to the Supreme Court." Teams will be traveling all over Washington DC. They'll be able to see all the branches of the government: judicial, legislative, and executive, in that order. The Supreme Court is where major court cases are held. So, once teams get there, they'll find something that'll be helpful later on.

"Let's do this!" Brent hops into the driver's seat and drives off. Supreme Court is about a 15 minute drive from the airport. "Alright, Syd, we need to really step up our game."

"I know." Syd says. "We haven't won a single leg of the race."

"But that doesn't mean we can't win the money."

"True. However, the bakers are gonna be at their worst today at trying to eliminate people now. They're gonna go claws deep in blood if they have to."

"Listen, Hans, I didn't come to the final 3 for nothing." Claudia says. "I'm leaving with that money no matter what! I don't care if I have to slit these people's throats."

"For once, I agree." Hans says. "What do you think we'll have to do once we get to Supreme Court?"

"I don't care! Just focus on driving!" Hans pushes down on the accelerator. Meanwhile, Tommy & Regina somehow are still in the lead.

"My heart is literally pounding out of its chest." Tommy says.

"It makes sense." Regina says. "We have a real shot of winning a million dollars here."

"I know. I'm just so excited! I wonder what Richie & Vlad are thinking."

"Probably something like: 'Keep it up you two. Don't you dare get distracted for nothing!'"

"Ok. I can stay focused." The workers make it to Supreme Court first. Outside of it is a table with three silver briefcases on it. Tied to each briefcase is the teams' next clue. Tommy leaves the cab stalling and they run up to get their next clue.

"Route Info: Take this briefcase and this clue to the midpoint checkpoint at the Capitol Building." Tommy reads. You read correctly, teams will head to the Capitol, where the House of Representatives and the Senate have their regularly scheduled meetings. They will hand their clue to Toner, who will exchange it for another clue. If their the last team to make it there, they will be... Cut. From. The. Race.

"Alright! Let's do this!" Tommy says as he turns around and heads back to his cab.

The bakers make it to the Supreme Court and then the humans. Brent jumps out alone and so does Hans.

"Oh no you don't!" Hans says. He jumps and knocks Brent to the ground. He scratches him in the face and leaves bloody marks. Hans quickly grabs the briefcase and runs back down to his can. Brent grabs his and hurls it towards Hans. It knocks him to the ground and Brent runs to pick it up.

"Bitch, you should've seen it coming." Brent mutters as he gets back into his cab.

"What happened?" Syd asks.

"No time. Gotta make it to the Capitol or else were out." Brent ushers down on the accelerator; but nothing happens. "Shit! We're out of gas!"

"We've gotta run for it!" Syd says. The humans get out of the cab and run. Claudia gets out too and shakes Hans.

"Get up!!!" She shouts.

"Huh? Oh crap!" He stands up and they follow the humans to the Capitol, which is only about 200 feet away.

"I can't believe I'm saying this," Toner says, "but Tommy & Regina, you're still in first."

"Sweet!" Tommy hands Toner the clue and he gives him another one. "Route Info: keep this briefcase and go 2 miles down the road to the Washington Monument where your next clue awaits."

"Good luck you guys." Toner says. Tommy & Regina then run off. "That leaves the humans and the bakers left. One of them is about to eliminated." The humans come into view first. The bakers are a bit behind. The wind blows into their faces as they make is to the front of the Capitol and they reach Toner.

"Humans, welcome to the midpoint checkpoint." Toner says.

"We did it! We're still in the race!" Syd says.

"After you hand me your clue." Brent unties the clue from the case and holds it up. The winds blows a bit stronger and knocks it out of his hand.

"No!" Brent says as him as Syd chase after it.

"The humans! Their clue got away! We still have a shot!" Hans says. The clue keeps going. 5 feet away from the midpoint. 10 feet. 15 feet.

"We can still win this!" Claudia says. "Hurry! Third place is not an option!"

"I've almost got it." Brent says. He jumps out and face plants on the sidewalk; but he has the ticket in hand. "Got it."

"Goodbye, suckers!" Claudia says as the bakers pass them.

"I don't thinks so, sis!" Brent stands up and they start running. They close in on the bakers. Hans & Claudia had played good so far; but one thing they forgot is that Brent & Syd are faster when it comes to running.

A pair of feet land on the midpoint rug (a plain brown one with a white one-slash-two on it) and they hand Toner their clue. "The humans officially take second place." Toner announces. The humans run off. Hans & Claudia fall to their knees along with their hearts dropping into their stomachs. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" They yell so loud the president can probably hear them.

"Hans & Claudia, I'm sorry," Toner says, "sorry that I didn't get to say this any sooner! You two are the last to arrive, so you're out of the race!" The bakers just sit there, motionless. "Huh. Thought you two were gonna act a lot worse..." Claudia thinks back on all she and Hans have done to make it this far.

All they have done.

So much.

Heat starts to boil her blood. Steam comes out of her ear and her face glows a bit red; her fists clenched harder than she ever thought she could. "Oh crud." Hans mutters. "Hit the deck! She's gonna blow!"

Claudia screams louder than she ever has during the race. She picks Toner up without trying.

"Help." Toner whimpers, his ears pinned down. Claudia throws his down on the sidewalk with a thud. She pulls one of the doors of the Capitol straight off the hinges and throws it blindly. She grabs a nearby tree and effortlessly rips a large branch off, ready to throw it.

"Claudia!!" Hans runs up to her. He puts his paws on her shoulders and shakes her. "Snap out of it!! It's over! We... we lost."

"Noooo!" Claudia tosses the branch aside and sobs into Hans' shoulder. She sinks to the ground and Hans picks her up.

"Shh! We did our best." Hans says in a calm voice. He rubs her back and carries her off. "Claudia, looking back at the race, I've gotta say, I'm very disappointed in us."

"Maybe you're right." She says. "Maybe we didn't deserve the money. After the way we've behaved the whole game, I'm disgusted at what's happened."

"Well, we can view this as a learning experience."

"You're right. I'm going to try and be a better fur from now on."

"Claudia, I'm so happy to hear that."

"Yep." She reaches and flicks Hans in the forehead. "That's what you get for making us lose." Hans gives her an evil glare. "Ok. Starting now." She rests her head on his shoulder and they walk off, Hans' tail swishing with the wind.

***

The race ain't over yet, there's only 2 teams left. Tommy & Regina and Brent & Syd. Their next destination is the Washington Monument. The workers get there first. Tommy gets to the clue box and reads the clue. "Random Roadblock: whoever is not holding this clue must take part in the... Map Challenge." Teams must make their way to a magnetic map of the U.S. set up right outside the monument. Once there, they'll find 15 magnets with the eliminated teams' faces on them. Their job is to identify which team was eliminated where. Once they finish, they must get approval from a local cartographer (pink collie). Once he approves, he'll give you the combo to their briefcases.

"Looks like it's my time to shine." Regina says. As she steps up to the magnets, Brent & Syd arrive. Syd takes the clue and reads it.

"You good with maps?" Syd asks.

"Of course." Brent says. He snaps his knuckles and goes to the board. First magnet that catches his eye is the one with June & Mabel's face on it. He remembers them being eliminated in Miami.

"How are you guys still in the race?" Regina asks.

"I have no idea." Brent says. "But there's no way we're giving up now."

"Although, it might as well be a party since we finally got Hans & Claudia booted from the race." Syd says.

"You seriously got them out?" Regina asks.

"Yep."

"Damn. About time it happened."

"Yeah. I never liked nor trusted those bakers." Tommy says. "Good luck to you guys."

"Good luck to you too." Brent says. He then goes back to the magnets. Mario & Zelda were eliminated in New York. Jack & Maria were eliminated in Seattle. There's two spots for the Hawaii one and they both knew it the Ashley & Jo and Richie & Vlad who left that day.

Both Regina and Brent got at least 9 on the board that they were sure of. The jocks were hitting while they were in LA. However, Brent wasn't sure who came next. "Was it the brothers or was it the wrestlers?" He muttered to himself.

"Where you were guys eliminated?" Regina asks, holding up Jon & Devon's magnet. She puts it in Louisiana; but she still isn't sure. She still had a couple to go. Brent only had 2 left: the wrestlers and the brothers. He randomly threw one on in one location and did for the other.

"Is this right?" Brent asks the cartographer (Jacob).

"Yep." He says, handing him three cards. Brent took them and looked at them. 9. 2. 6.

"Great. We got the combo for our briefcase but not in order." Brent says.

"Try 926." Syd says. As Brent is putting in te combination, Regina finishes and shows Jacob. She is then given her three cards. 7. 6. 4.

"C'mon, Tom!" Regina says. She tries 764 first. It was wrong. 674. Wrong.

The humans aren't any closer to getting their case open. "962." Syd says. When Brent puts it in, they hear a small click. The case opens and the humans hi5. At the same time, Regina opens their case (the combo was 467). Brent grabs what's inside: a gold colored clue.

"Final Route Info: race on foot to the White House. First one to cross the finish line wins." Brent reads. The four of them take off for the White House, where Toner awaits for them. However, he's wearing a cast on his arm and his forehead is wrapped in bandages.

"The White House," Toner says, "this is where the president works and lives. This will be the finish line for the 15-part race around the country. However, I'm not alone." Toner walk up to a crowd that has gathered on mini bleachers set up earlier that day. "With me are the 32 eliminated racers. Please welcome back... Mario & Zelda."

"I'm so excited." Mario says. "Aren't you?"

"Absolutely." Zelda says. "I've been rooting for the humans since we were eliminated."

"Me too. And it was about time those bakers said sayonara."

"Samantha & Steven." Toner points them out. They're both on their handheld games. When Toner clears his throat, they look up.

"Oh. Go humans." Steven says with an I-couldn't-care-less voice.

"Uhh.... Ok.... Matthew & Sara."

"I did now see any of this coming." Matthew says. "Did you?"

"Nope." Sara says. "Who knew that an alliance would form just to get one team out?"

"Cassie & Shawn." Toner says.

"Personally, I didn't want to come back here." Cassie says. "Too many bad memories from early in the race."

"Well, that's all done now." Shawn says. "Now we just get to watch... in person."

"Avery & Timothy." Toner says.

"I've barely noticed the restaurant workers for most of the race." Avery says. "But they've been kicking serious ass making it this far."

"Really? I think both of the remaining teams have done good so far." Timothy says.

"But the humans haven't won a single leg of the whole race."

"True; but they're still good players making it to the final 2."

"Jack & Maria." Toner says.

"After we lost, we were sure The Axis wouldn't be able to continue much longer." Jack says. "But after seeing they made it to the final 6, that was pretty cool."

"I know." Maria says. "It's too bad none of us beat the bakers though."

"That's alright." Jack puts an arm around her.

"Ashley & Jo." Toner says.

"Once the race was over, I forgot to keep watching." Ashley says. "But luckily Jo didn't and so she kept me informed of what's been going on."

"Yep." Jo says. "Just like I have to keep her informed on everything."

"Richie & Vlad." Toner points to them.

"Dude! Our allies are still in the race!" Richie says. "You know how awesome it'd be if they won?"

"Very!" Vlad says. The two put their arms around each other's shoulders.

"Cody & Dave." Toner says.

"I got my jaw fixed after our time was done." Dave says. "Now I'm just fine and I wanna see who wins this thing already."

"Me too." Cody says. "I've mostly been rotting for Angie but apparently she lost."

"Rob & Robbie." Toner says

"C'mon humans!" Rob cheers.

"Really? I'm cheering for the restaurant workers." Robbie says. He got a new piercing in his ear: a gold ring with 3 clear diamonds on it.

"Why's that? The humans were much better players." His brother says.

"No way!"

"Before a fight breaks out, Helga & Gretel." Toner points the wrestlers out.

"I hope the humans lose." Helga says. "It was their fault we lost the race. They put our photo on that U-Turn!!"

"Helga! Remember your anger managements?" Gretel says. She notices Helga's fists clenched; but she slowly undoes them.

"Jon & Devon." Toner points them out. They're sitting at the end, making out. "Uhh... boys?"

"Hm?" Jon looks up. "Oh. I'm definitely rooting for the humans. When we watched the show, we just like them so much."

"If they don't win, that's fine." Devon says. "As long as those bakers aren't handed the money, I'm happy. I'm even happier when I'm with Jon."

"Awwwwww." Jon goes back to kissing Devon.

"Okaaaaay. Moving on. Seven & Stuart, our little adrenaline junkies." Toner points to them at the very top of the bleachers.

"When we lost the race, me and Seven start going out together." Stuart says. "I've gotta say, if we hadn't done this race, we wouldn't be this happy." Seven nods.

"Even though our team didn't achieve our original goal, the bakers were still kicked out and now I'm happy." Seven says.

"I'm happy with you too, Valerie."

"Who's Valerie?" Toner asks.

"My real name." Seven says.

"Then why have we been calling you 'Seven' for the whole race?"

"It's my nickname. Me and Stuart once had a motorcycle race around our hometown; I beat him by seven seconds and it just stuck for me."

"Alright. Whatever. Next up is June & Mabel."

"Oh, I hope the humans win." Mabel squeals.

"Relax," June says, "I'm sure they will. If they've made it this far, I know they can win this race. Besides, you're just eager for that kiss aren't you?"

"Can you blame me? I couldn't stop thinking of Brent after Miami."

"Eliminated just this morning," Toner walks to the other end of the bleachers, "Angie & Jennifer."

"Let me tell you, I did not see the humans coming this far in the race." Angie says. "On day 1, I didn't think they had a chance; but, they've proved me wrong."

"And if you ask me, we didn't even notice the workers for most of the race." Jennifer says.

"Then again, they did win a couple legs of the race."

"True."

"Last, but not least, the bakers who were just eliminated about 30 minutes ago: Hans & Claudia." Toner says.

"I say to hell with the other teams. I don't think either of them have played a good game; because they didn't get down and dirty to stay in the race." Claudia rants.

"After what most of the public has seen in the past two weeks, it's clear that we shouldn't be signing up for any competitions for a while." Hans says.

"Speaking of comps," Toner says, "Claudia, I have a few things to give you."

"What?!" Claudia snaps. Toner walks up to her and gives her a piece of paper. "A restraining order?"

"Yep. After you attacked me earlier, you are no longer allowed within 50 feet of me. And to help with that," Toner clears his throat, "Officer Candors!!" A big honey bear in blue comes up behind Claudia and takes his handcuffs out.

"Claudia McArthur, you are under arrest for threat of public safety." Candors says.

"What?! What did I do?" She demands.

"First off," Toner says, "you beat the shit out me and after what you pulled back at the Capitol, people got freaked out. Plus, you intentionally threw a sharpened claw at a tire on the way to Orlando. Do you know how dangerous that could be?"

"Uh...." Claudia remains speechless.

"You can watch who wins; but after that, it's off to jail for you. Plus, I heard that jail time in DC is veeeeeeeeeeery hard." Toner gets off the brackets and goes back to the finish line. He looks off into the distance and sees 4 figures coming. "Here they come!" The crowd cheers for who they're rooting for.

"Man! My thighs are on fire!" Brent exclaims.

"Me too!" Syd says.

"I'm getting exhausted." Regina says.

"C'mon girl, almost there!" Tommy says. The teams remain neck and neck. They're 500 feet from the finish line (two flagpoles with red flags at the top and a thick strip of checkered tape between them).

400 feet.

300 feet.

200 feet.

"C'mon Tommy & Regina!!" Richie shouts. "You can do this guys!!"

"Let's go man!" Vlad shouts.

150 feet.

100 feet.

"You're almost there Brent!" Mabel cheers.

"C'mon guys!" June says.

50 feet.

25 feet.

10 feet.

"And the winner is..." Toner starts. Both team tumble to the finish line; but only 3 people are past the flagpoles. The tape gets cut. "Tommy & Regina! You have won the Amazing Race!"

"What?" Tommy says, ears perked up and excited. "We won?!"

"We won!!!!" Regina cheers. She and Tommy stand up and she jumps in his arms, squealing. "We did it!!!"

"I know!!" Tommy & Regina hug tight. Brent gets up off the ground. Syd never crossed the finish line.

"Well," Brent dusts his shirt off, "that's stinks. But, I guess I can live with runner-up status."

"Me too." Syd says.

"At least I got one thing...." Brent runs up into the bleacher sand sits next to Mabel. "I may not have won the race; but I'm not leaving without this." Brent kisses Mabel on the lips again and she purrs.

"You mean?" Mabel asks.

"Yep. I'm taking you on a date tomorrow." Syd sits next to June.

"Well, I guess this is a happy ending." Syd says. June looks back to Brent and Mabel, who are still in each other's arms and then back to Syd. She shrugs her shoulders and kisses Syd on the cheek.

"Tommy, Regina, I believe this is yours." Toner walks up to them with a big silver briefcase. He opens it up to show $1,000,000 inside. Tommy takes it and closes it.

"This is awesome!" Tommy says. "Now we can open up our own place!"

"I'm so excited for that!"

"Before you go," Toner hands them a microphone, "a small speech from our winners?" The crowd applauds and mutters in approval.

"Ok." Tommy says. "Well, the last two weeks have been the best of my entire life. I wouldn't change it for the world. Best of all, I got to do this with my pal, Regina."

"Doing this race has been really awesome. I knew that me Tommy might do good but I never expected to actually win this whole thing. Now that we have, I'm glad we did." Regina says.

"Now, I'm just ready to go back home and enjoy what's about to come for me and her."

"Nice." Toner says. "Now, how about our runner-ups?"

"Ok." Brent carries Mabel down the bleachers and Syd follows. Tommy Hans Brent the microphone and sits down to the side. "I don't know where to begin. I've gotta say this this has certainly been the most interesting experience of my life."

"Agreed." Syd says. "But then again, we got to go zip lining, I got to eat spicy hot chips and I learned more about Hawaii than I ever thought I did."

"Best of all, I got to do this with my best friend. Plus, I've got a girlfriend now! So I can't wait to go home and see how things will work!"

"Me too!" Mabel says.

"Thank you boys. Thanks you racers." Toner says. "Well, that's a wrap on this race. My name is Toner McAlister and this has been... the Amazing Race."
