#14 of So Furry Presents: The Amazing Race

On the last leg of the Amazing Race, teams traveled to Miami. They had to hit baseballs then either had to take photos of the Freedom Tower, or search for keys in the interior. The restaurant workers found the Fast Forward. The bakers cheated their way to victory. The humans showed they do have a dark side. The sorority sisters received a penalty after losing a Face Off. The graduates were eliminated and Brent and Mabel finally kissed. 4 teams are still left in the race. Who will win? This is Part 1 of the finale of... The Amazing Race.

"Welcome back to the Villa Vizcaya in Miami." Toner says. His black eye is gone. "Yesterday's winners are the first one's up. But before I get to that, I have some news: today, from here on out, is a nonstop race to the finish line. That's right, by the end of the day, one of the remaining teams will win the millions dollars. With that being said..." Claudia steps up to the clue box and takes her clue.

"Speed Bump: before you may continue, players must do the... Horseshoe Challenge?" Claudia asks. Players must do the Speed Bump before they officially start the leg of the race. In this case, each player gets 3 horseshoes and each team must collectively score 10 points before they can continue.

"Alright, Syd, we're all we've got." Brent says. "If we don't keep up with the others, we're done for and I promised Mabel we'd win the race."

"Ok. I've got it." Syd says. Toner gives everyone 3 horseshoes. The pegs were set up last night just outside the Villa Vizcaya. Syd takes his first throw and he makes it around the peg. He does it again but it only leans against it. The third one he misses completely.

"That's ok!" Brent says. "You have 5 points, I only need 5 now."

Regina steps up to her peg, bends her arm back and tosses a horseshoe. Her second. Her third. All 3 of them get around the peg.

"How the hell did you do that?" Angie asks.

"Easy. Me and Tommy sometimes do this on our breaks." Regina says. She turns to her partner and put her paws on his shoulders. "We have a huge lead. All you need is 1 point to give us the victory we need."

"I've got this." Tommy says. On the inside, he was actually nervous. He never really was good at this game before; Regina always beat him. All Tommy needed to do was get the horseshoe near the peg and they can continue. He lets one fly and he misses. He tries again and misses again. When he lets the third one go, it gets close enough to the peg to score them a point.

"Nice job." Toner says, handing him the next clue.

"Route Info: get on an Amazing Race motorcycle and travel all the way to Orlando." Tommy reads. Orlando; this is the main setting in the book Paper Towns by John Green. It was also where the movie was filmed at. However, players will not be doing anything in Orlando. Instead, they'll be heading straight to the Orlando International Airport, where the next checkpoint is. Last team there is out of the race.

"Let's go, Tommy!" Regina pulls on her partner and they start running for the motorcycles Toner has left.

"Sweet! Toner left us a GPS." Tommy says. He revs up the engine and he starts motoring off.

Brent gets all three of his horseshoes leaning against the peg and Toner gives the humans the next clue. Leaving, once again, the bakers and the sorority sisters fighting to stay in the game.

"You can do this Jen!" Angie says. Angie already scored 6 points. Hans did too but in a different way than her.

"I will not be last!" Claudia exclaims. She tosses a horseshoe and it makes it around the peg. Jen's just leans against it. Both girls take a shot at the same time. Claudia's hits the ground and slides while Jen's hits the peg and it leans against it.

"10!!" Jen and Claudia say at the same time. Toner gives them their clue and they start to run for the motorcycles.

"Claudia, I have an idea!" Hans says. As runs, he takes off his shoes and girls them both towards the girls. They both miss the girls but they crash into one of the motorcycles' mirrors. Hans & Claudia catch up and make it to the motorcycle with a mirror. Claudia quickly revs it up and drives off.

"Crap!" Angie says. "Guess we're gonna have to go without mirrors."

"But Angie that isn't safe!" Jennifer says.

"Jen! We're in last place! If we don't get on now, we could be eliminated."

"Ok! Ok!" Angie gets on and drives with Jennifer hanging onto her.

"This is gonna be an interesting leg of the race." Toner says.

Tommy & Regina somehow are in the lead. The humans are right behind them, and the trailing teams are the bakers and the sorority sisters. Orlando is about a 3 and a half hour drive from Miami. It'd probably be 3 if they're lucky.

"I wonder if Richie & Vlad are watching us." Tommy says.

"The probably are," Regina says, "and they're probably proud that we're in the final 4."

"I know! Never thought we'd make it this far!"

"Neither did I! But now that we are, let's win this thing!"

"You bet we're gonna!"

Brent is the one driving his and Syd's motorcycle. "You'd think that a 17-year-old couldn't be able to drive a motorcycle; but my dad has one and he's been teaching me." He says.

"Why's that?" Syd asks.

"Because, he's hoping one day I'll turn out like him."

"What? You mean with crazy tattoos, a beat-up motorcycle, leather clothing and shaving your hair off?"

"You do know my dad watches this show, right?"

"Oops. Think he'll notice?"

"You kidding? He can notice when a gnat gets in his soup. You might want to sleep with one eye open, Syd, when we get home."

"That was a good tactic." Claudia says to Hans. "Breaking their mirrors! Let's see them try to change lanes if they need to!"

"I know!" Hans says. "But now that I'm thinking about it, Jennifer can just turn around and see what's coming."

"Whatever, you've hindered them and I like it."

"Thanks. I also broke the humans' camera yesterday while you were knocked out."

"Really? How so?"

"With my shoe."

"What is it with you and being good at throwing shoes around?"

"Practice; I've learned from our boss. That's why he thinks twice before throwing another shoe at me. You know, I still remember the words he said to us before we left for the race."

"What? You mean these words?" Claudia clears her throat. "'You're leaving?! Good! Get out of here you freeloading scumbags!'"

"Yep. Those ones."

"That's why we need the money. We're gonna open our own bakery and shove it in our boss' face!"

"How're we doing, Jen?" Angie asks.

"We're just fine!" Jennifer says. Currently, the sorority sisters are in last place; but the bakers aren't too far ahead. If they slip up, the girls still have a shot at winning this race. "What do you want to do if we win?"

"When we win, you mean?" Angie corrects her.

"Right. Whatever."

"Well, I can finally get out of that crusty apartment. And I've been thinking about traveling all over the world on my own time."

"Really? That's cool. As for me, I really need to pay off some student loans. But when that's done, I can probably go and move to New York or maybe to Miami."

"Well, that's some smart ideas for the money. Regarding the loans, I mean. As for moving, that'd be pretty cool."

"I know. If we win this, our lives are gonna change."

The humans slowly catch up to the restaurant workers. "S'up!!" Brent yells.

"Hi guys!" Tommy says.

"Do you know where the bakers are?" Regina asks.

"Nope." Brent says. "Last time I checked, they're both behind us."

"That's good. How long until we're in Orlando?" Tommy looks at the GPS.

"About 2 more hours." Tommy says. "Hey guys? Can I ask you something?"

"Sure." Brent says.

"Why did you guys sign up for the race?"

"Because we felt like we were good enough to win the money. Plus, we need the money. Do you have any idea what two role can do with a million bucks?"

"No. Not really."

"Well, we plan on doing a lot."

"We're you guys freaked out when you found out the race consisted mostly of anthros?" Regina asks.

"We were not surprised. We were wondering why we were labeled 'humans' before the show began." Syd says.

"Can I ask you guys something?" Brent says.

"Of course." Tommy says.

"What are you guys' jobs?"

"Well, I wait tables and Regina cooks. We've been working at the restaurant Miller's in Ohio for 6 years."

"Miller's?! Man I love that place!" Syd says. "But we've only been there once. Me and Brent aren't from Ohio."

"Though now that I think about that trip, I think I have seen you two before." Brent says.

"We usually have a lot of customers so we don't really recognize very many people." Tommy says. "If we win the race, me and Regina have been thinking of opening our own place and going from there."

"Cool. What kind of restaurant?" Brent asks.

"Probably Italian." Regina says. "Either that or French. I'm good at making both."

"Awesome. If we're ever in Ohio, we'll be sure to visit." Syd says.

Meanwhile, the sorority sisters are slowly catching up to the bakers. "They're catching up!" Hans exclaims.

"Just keep driving!!" Claudia says. Angie keeps speeding up, trying to pass her enemies. She slowly catches up to them and remain side by side with them. Jennifer suddenly remembers something in her pocket. She reaches for it and out comes a small tub of Vaseline in paw. She opens it and gets a good pawful.

"Hope you guys need this!!" Jen yells. She throws it and it nails Hans in the face.

"Shit! My eyes! They burn!!" He exclaims.

"I've got you!" Claudia says. She helps wipe the stuff off his face. That's it, she thinks, time to knock them out of the race once and for all. She takes a deep breath and grasps one of her claws. She quickly pulls it off and screams. "Hey Jen! Time to learn your first lesson in reality shows." Claudia pulls her arm back. "You can never ! Outcheat! A cheater!" She throws her torn off claw at the ties of their motorcycle and the tire pops.

"Crap! Flat tire!" Angie says. Her and Jen slow down and eventually stop on the side of the highway, the bakers disappearing in the distance. Jen looks at the tire that had just blown out and pulls out Claudia's claw.

"My goodness! Claudia is seriously desperate to win this money that she'd pull out her own claw." Jennifer says.

"There's no way we're gonna be able to win now." Angie says. After a couple minutes, a car pulls aside. Specifically a police car. "Great." Angie says sarcastically. The cop comes out of the car. Hold on, Angie thinks, I recognize that honey bear anywhere.

"What's the problem here?" The bear asks.

"Officer Candors?" Angie asks.

"Angie Tripp?"

"Yes. That's me. What're you doing here in Florida? I thought you worked in Utah."

"I did. But my manager was a bitch and I needed to move here to be closer to my family. What're you doing out here?"

"Me and Jen are in the Amazing Race; we're in the final 4. But Claudia screwed us up and now we're in last."

"Really? I love that show."

"Thanks." Jen says. "But if we don't make it to Orlando, we're gonna lose."

"Hmmm..." The bear thinks for a moment. "I'm probably not allowed to do this; but we had a slow day. How about I help you ladies get to Orlando on time."

"Seriously?" Angie says. "That'd be awesome. Thanks officer."

The humans and restaurant workers make it to Orlando International Airport at 10:55 am. The four of them get off their motorcycles and rush inside. "Look! There's Toner!" Brent says. Toner sits with his newspaper right outside the door that'll lead them to the plane. The rug is right next to him along with 3 pairs of plane tickets; one of them is gold. The four of them run up to Toner and they get on the rug.

"Tommy & Regina," Toner says, "I'm still surprised to be saying this; you're in first."

"We did it!" Tommy says. He hugs Regina tight and Tomer gives them the gold tickets.

"First class! Sweet!" Regina says. They run in and the humans step up.

"Brent & Syd, second place." Toner says. "You guys are in coach along with the next team that arrives."

***

Hans & Claudia are only a few blocks away. They evilly laugh as they might finally get their goal of staying in the game and getting the sorority sisters out. They suddenly hear police sirens. "The cops! We have to pull over to let them through." Hans says.

"Forget that!" Claudia reaches up and takes the keys out. They suddenly stop and flip forward, tumbling a few feet. The cop car passes them and Angie is giving them the finger out the window.

"The sorority sisters!!" Claudia exclaims. Her adrenaline comes back as she hurls herself and her partner off the ground and they run. "Run!!!"

The cop car stops and Officer Candors gets out and open the backseat. "C'mon Jen!" Angie & Jennifer stumble out of the car and run around to the airport entrance. When they reach the door, Claudia crashes into them and pushes them out of the way. Her and Hans run inside and the girls get up and in too.

"There's the checkpoint!" Angie points out. The four of them run for it. The sorority sisters catch up to the bakers just as two of them step onto the rug.

"Third place goes to..." Toner picks up the last pair of tickets. "The bakers."

"Yes!!!" Claudia jumps and cheers and turns to the sorority sisters. "In your fucking FACE!!!" Toner opens the door.

"Get on the plane before I kick you out, Claudia." Toner says. Hans & Claudia get on the plane and get their seats. Toner gets in and let's go of the door; but it slowly closes. "Sorry Angie & Jennifer. You two are in last and you've been cut from the race. See you at the finale." The door cuts them off.

Angie & Jennifer pin their ears down and walk off. "Ugh! It irritates me that they're still in the race." Angie says.

"I know." Jen says.

"I really hope the humans can pull out a win and knock them out."

"Me too. So, what do you want to do now?"

"I'm not sure."

"How about we just go home and hope for some kind of miracle."
