#10 of The new dinosaur

sorry for the short part, there is a scheduled power-outage happening and I wanted to get something out tonight

Instead of having a single incubator with three eggs and 50 people around it, we have three incubators each with one egg.

The room is packed, 50 guests, three people from national geographic, me and Gena... Me and Gena are allowed to be closer to the incubators than anyone else, even closer than the guys from national geographic.

The egg in front of me cracked, I crouched next to the incubator and said "ITS TIME!" the guests cheered. I said "No flash photography... We don't know haw they will react to the light"

The entire top half of the egg shattered and the head(and neck) poked out of the jagged shell, the scaled head trailed into a soft brown downy-feather covering the rest of the body, except for the hands and feet.

The tiny Albertosaurus made a noise, kind of like a hiss and a peep mashed together. Another egg cracked and hatched, followed by the next. After the guests thinned-out, we put the Albertosaurus chicks(?) into a much larger containment incubator than the others.

The chicks had black and green scales on its head, on its feet and hands where brown and black.

We watched the chicks play in there incubator for a few minuets than I left to check on how the enclosure is going.

The enclosure is a pit, five feet deep, five feet of cement wall and five feet of chain-link fence. It isn't quite finished... But will be done two weeks before the Albertosaurus are ready to go in it... more or less.

I walked to the duck pond, the ducklings now three months old. They are darker colored, as many birds are at a young age. The modified ducklings are standing on the side of the river, fishing quite differently than the un-modified adults who dive and swim to catch fish, the ducklings wait for a fish to swim-by and than they snatch it-up.

I went back to the lab, Gena is still watching the Albertosaurus. I took a steak and sliced it into small chunks, I tossed the chunks into the incubator and they ate-up.

We fell asleep watching them.
