First time writing with a bird. Through anxiety and some other things I managed to make it readable, don't think it is the best I've written by far. I hope at least some enjoy it <3

Spit in the face of gods and demons if it means freedom. These were the words that Enya lived by, and the words that her fellow villagers were most concerned with. From a young age she had no respect for authority or tradition, basically anything that held her down in any way was never good enough for her. None had been able to tame her, and in fact, her father who had lost his wife during the early years of their daughter's life stoked the flames of her burning spirit by teaching her those very words. Enya's father had always told her to be free, to be unrestrained in both speech and spirit and so she was, and a bit too much for the tastes of the villagers around her, still, she helped with the labors of the village, she had even helped patrol for the local caravan. She would help anyone she could in the village, even if she did it in her own way and perhaps with disastrous results and so the villagers were very fond of their trouble making girl. At age nineteen she was a restless girl who desperately needed direction, or a change of scenery.

The village she lived in was separated from the rest of the kingdom they resided in by a mountain, a great and powerful one that housed a being of great power that the villagers called their god. Harvest had always been good, traders always had safe passage, and so they thanked their god and offered tribute each day. Enya had always considered the god a common beast an overgrown creature, but she had to admit that looking at the mountain itself filled her with a great sense of relief and happiness, one that she couldn't explain. Today it seemed that the mountain wouldn't give her any relief though, her mind was too muddled with thoughts of the future. A small village in the wake of a large mountain could only provide so much entertainment, and only so few paths to follow.

Settling down was a thought and her father had always wanted grandchildren, but there was problem, no man was worth her time and truthfully she only wanted to see her father proud and happy with grandchildren. Enya needed a man that could follow her anywhere she went, a person who could handle her explosive personality at that, but no one seemed to be able to. Many had attempted to court her, and many had themselves a place in the village's healing ward. It was just a bit frustrating to think that none could handle her, truly though she just wished she had someone who accepted her wild personality without prejudice. She could handle a weak man in all truth, but she could never handle one who tried to see her calm. Enya despised being lost in thought for so long, she was beginning to disgust herself and so she decided a trip to the wilds would clear her mind; bow in hand. A hunt would take her mind off of the men of her village, and it would provide her with a challenge.

Unfortunately the game was not out that day. Either too wary, or alerted to her presence, the animals did not come. She watched from bushes, from treetops and more and yet she could not find hide nor tail of a creature worth hunting. In fact the entire forest was quiet. There didn't even seem to be small game, no birds in the trees, no rabbits in bushes; nothing. Her boredom was mounting and she was yet again thinking of the men of her village, thinking perhaps that her village was just not the place she would find her husband or anything of value, "Then the hell with it. Really only wanted to make father happy anyway...he'd love havin some grandkids even if he says otherwise...ah well." Perhaps she would move, she would leave the village and take her father, if he allowed it and if not then she would go on her own. Suddenly through the trees she felt the sunlight burning, intensifying, until suddenly she yelped and turned shielding her eyes. Even through the leaves she could see that the light was coming not from the sun, but from the mountain her fellow villagers held so dear. It was a source of excitement, something new and interesting, and something that had her rushing back to the village.

At the center the village clergy were all gathered along with the normal folk looking up at the mountain. Prayers were being shared until they were halted by the sound of a terrible screeching. Making her way through the crowd to get a closer look Enya's heart seized and nearly stopped upon that sound. It felt horrible, and most of all she felt deeply pained by it. None of the other villagers seemed to care much at all. Her father who had been within the crowd touched her shoulder and spoke in a light tone, "Dear...are you all right? You look pale...far paler than usual, is that noise bothering you that much?"

Enya breathed out and cleared her throat, shaking her head. Once the screeching stopped her pain seemed to subside, "No no...I'm fine...It was just a shocking noise." realizing that she had dropped her bow she knelt to pick it up in an attempt to retain some semblance of her composure.

It was then that one of the priests began preaching aloud, "The mountain has been defiled and our god has been angered...we must bring offering to it, we must see what our god needs! Who among us would take this mission, who would face our god with tribute and question in hand!"

Enya frowned, the great so called god had been seen before. It was nothing more than a bird cloaked in red feathers. Nothing more than a large beast. It was no god, but she could see that no one was up to the challenge of bringing up this tribute. If it was true that the creature upon the mountain was causing such a horrifying noise, then she would silence it, through force or tribute whatever the method, she didn't care. Enya just wanted that noise to never happen again, for that feeling of dread and pain to never take hold of her body and so she stepped forth raising her hand, "I'll go. I don't want to hear that noise again...give me the tribute whatever it is and I'll see that your god is quiet again and pleased again."

Chest of goodies under arm, and bow slung over her shoulder, Enya made her way to the mountain. It wasn't a difficult trip by any means. The roads to the mountain were well taken care of and no bandits or feral creatures made trouble for any on the road. Approaching the mountain itself was again just as safe, in fact it was an almost relaxing walk. Honestly, Enya had needed a bit of relaxation after that noise, she hadn't admitted it, but the noises shook her to the core and even now she still felt an odd shiver from whatever it was. Truly she only wanted to come face to face with what made the noise, and silence it herself if she had to.

She had never been on the mountain itself, but as soon as she began the trek up the thing, she felt an immense change in weather. The heat was almost unbearable right from the first step she took near the damnable rock. The priests and priestesses of her village had never mentioned anything so unnaturally hot, and in fact they gave her no warning when she volunteered. Something was terribly wrong with this supposed god if it was the cause of the heat, or it was just being an ass. With every step she felt herself becoming that more exhausted, the heat penetrating her very core. Even where she stepped felt hot through her boots. At this point she was more afraid that she was going to melt and become one with the mountain than dying of exhaustion. With a frown she pressed on, she was determined to see this through, and see the true cause of this heat.

The home of their god didn't so much reside at the top of the mountain, so much as it lived upon a flat portion of the giant rock that none could look upon from the ground level. The only thing that had nearly stopped her progress was the immense heat that seemed to grow worse the further she got to what she figured was the source. Upon arriving on the flat she set down the chest and breathed out, hand moving immediately to wipe at her brow. It was then that she saw a great ball of red feathers and a beak curled at the center of the flat. Blinking she moved to approach the thing, curious as she had never seen it up close.

A mistake had been made as soon as she made the first step. With alarming speed the large bird uncurled and let out a terrifying screech, wings spread wide and head lowered close, feathers rustled and chest heaving. Enya attempted to bring out her bow, but was blown back by a sudden force, a sudden pressure. Panting, unsure of what had just happened she got up slowly to see that the red feathered beast was watching her. She could see closely now that its crest and head were coated in a more orange toned feather, and its eyes were amber gems that were gazing straight at her. She felt truly as though she were facing a god at that point. Standing from where she sat, she backed up slowly, it was then that she could see that the thing was bleeding from its neck. A gash, a deep wound that looked man-made. She had no idea what foolish man would challenge a beast like this, but whoever it was had managed to strike a deadly blow. Again it seemed ready to screech at her and step forth to frighten her further, but this time it doubled over and let out a weak chirring that sent shivers up her spine, "N-no.." she said quietly as she began approaching it. The poor thing was hurt, that was the terrible noise she had heard, she had heard this creature in pain, but why then had it troubled her so? Again it lifted its head to stare into her eyes, but this time it made no sound, it made no motion to attack her, it only continued its pained noise without end, the large avian watching her, assessing her.

Enya finally just before the creature and her hands were still. She had proven she was no harm and so the fiery bird lowered itself and seemed to collapse, eyes closing. It was then she heard a rocking a voice, one that seemed to breath from the mountain itself, "...you are the first that has come here in such a long time...the first without ill intent...you are from the village of humans who are pure...forgive my state please, what is it that you wish."

Enya's eyes were wide and shining as she heard the thing speak, she could hardly believe what she was hearing, rather that she was hearing words at all. With all the power in her soul she resisted hopping up and down, and instead bit at her lip taking a deep breath before shutting her mouth again. Looking at the giant bird in pain she closed her eyes and crossed her arms, speaking as if he were a child, "Who did this to you?!"

The large bird only seemed to let out a shaky rumble that caused it to wince and drop again in pain, "...babying me? That is a first...I was hurt by a kingdom knight seeking the glory of a phoenix's feather upon his cap, he met his end and I met his blade...fear now, I am in no danger of dying. I simply need...time."

Enya looked the phoenix up and down and with a small smile she tilted her head, "Hm...time huh? Well it would go a lot better if that thing weren't gushing so much! I'll be back bird, back by tonight probably if I can, bird what is your name anyway?"

The phoenix raised a brow, had he not said he was a phoenix, a proud avian of might and magic? Regardless with a sigh he simply replied, "Emb...what is your--" already too late. She was rushing off nearly tripping over a rock and leaving her bow behind. Humans had always confounded him from the very beginning. With a shaky breath he folded his wings and closed his eyes, it would do him well to get rest, especially before dealing with a firecracker like that again.

Emb's eyes broke open as he heard his name being called. The moon was high, he had been asleep for some time, but the pain was still there, warm blood still oozing. Looking down he could see the human was there with a large pack of sorts. She was setting it down and from it she brought out a bottle, a needle and thread as it seemed and a few other things he was confused. Had she come to mend his wounds? When she beckoned him he tentatively lowered his head. Upon his neck he felt her hands work, gently she caressed around the wound with that strange liquid that stung just a bit, but soon brought upon a soothing cold. Closing his eyes he allowed himself to let the girl do her work. She cleaned his wound and perhaps that was enough.

When Enya finished she was covered in blood stains. It had been hard enough to hide what she had been doing, but now with this she would have to explain that she had been tending to the wounds of her village's god. What an odd thing to say. Still, she felt satisfied with her work and what's more, she felt amazing. No longer did that burning heat crash down upon the mountain either, it seemed that Emb was just protecting himself by warding away anything dangerous, "Well, now that uh...that is done I'm sure you won't be making any terrible noises ever again...nearly killed me with those noises...hah."

Emb picked up on the message and raised a brow, "You felt my pain?"

Enya thought about it for a moment, if she should confide in the creature or not. She was never a believing sort, but this was close enough to anything magical she had ever experience and so she said, "Yes. It was a terrible thing...felt like I was about to just drop dead from all of it."

Emb ruffled his feathers in thought, spreading his wings for a moment as he got up to stretch. If this was true then perhaps the girl was a special case, perhaps he had found his match, "Tell me...what is your name?"

Enya blinked and replied quietly, suddenly feeling very small, "Enya..."

Emb let out a curious chirp and craned his head, amber eyes locking to hers, "You're perhaps more than just a simple human...you felt my pain and rather than flee from me you came forth and even eased my pain...would you stay with me for the night? I wish to ponder upon this connection of ours...and late at night the roads can be somewhat dangerous."

Enya felt a bit odd at having a large bird ask her to stay the night. Where would she even sleep? She then noticed that one of his wings was outstretched to her. In a way that was adorable, in other ways she felt strangely nervous. He wanted to examine her, to see if this strange connection was anything special, but it couldn't harm, she would come back in the morning and explain everything to her father, nothing to worry about, nothing to wrong. With a sigh she rubbed at the back of her head, "I guess I can stay until the morning."

Stepping to the wing she allowed herself to be enveloped by the phoenix, closing her eyes, shaking just a bit. It was oddly comforting to be around such a large creature, and the closer she got the more safe she felt. It was only until her cheek was firmly pressed against the creature's body did she realize that she was nearly dozing off already. Was she that tired? Or was this part of their connection. She could hear Emb breathing calmly, it seemed that the phoenix had already fallen asleep. He must have been so tired, he had lost so much blood and perhaps his life. It was a thought that frightened her in ways which were inexplicable and she certainly had no reason to be so scared, still, everything would become clear in the morning, or not, either way she hated thinking too much. With a sigh she closed her eyes again and allowed herself to fall asleep safe underneath the phoenix's wing.

When the morning came her eyes opened slowly and she looked up to see Emb watching her, staring at her. With a huff she gave his side a light tap, "That is the most frightening thing about you thus far! You don't just watch another while they sleep..."

Again the phoenix gave a rumbling version of laughter and replied, "I am sorry...I was only trying to suss out the source of our connection...and whether you or I accept it or not, it is most definitely there and of an arcane nature...what has caused it I would like to know, but I enjoy thinking that fate simply brought us together."

Enya snorted. Now the bird sounded as if he were trying to court her, still, it wasn't such an unpleasant thought. He was certainly nicer than any man she had met back at the village, and much more interesting. Yet again she tapped at the bird's side, bringing herself from him afterwards to stretch, grateful that his wing was already off of her, "Well, make sure it doesn't happen again...and I don't know how to feel about being connected to a giant bird, it isn't too terrible...just have to keep you nice and safe."

Emb tilted his head, "You intend to safeguard me?"

Enya smiled, "Why not? That pain was real, and if I felt it, what would happen if you just suddenly died? I'd rather not find out...plus...this is exciting, something so entirely different besides, if I do you enough favors you'll let me on your back right?"

Emb closed his eyes and let out another rumble, "Perhaps...but only if you agree to be my wife."

Enya's cheeks flared. Never imagining that the great phoenix that seemed so stuffy would know what a joke was she took the comment seriously. Placing a hand over her heart she looked away and laughed, "I've never thought to be courted by a bird...your words are certainly more welcome then most of the men at my village, but I don't know if I'm ready to settle down just yet."

Sensing that she hadn't caught on to his joke he continued on, "And yet if we were together then I could take you to any place in the world...we could travel together, away from this mountain...I do believe that I am no longer welcome here after all, except by your village folk." now though, he had to admit the sound of traveling together with a young human was appealing, perhaps it was the connection they shared, but she seemed to be quite fetching to his eyes as well. Moving around her his head was now next to hers to hear her response.

Enya frowned and huffed crossing her arms, "I...well...I guess that would be fun, but as your bride? You're asking for a bit much aren't you...trying to hold my hand marriage hostage in exchange for a ride...or perhaps all you're after is my body, what a perverse supposed god you are."

Emb cooed and shook his head, "Not at all. Although it started as a joke, I would indeed enjoy traveling with you. This place is far too dangerous for me...I need to move, and yet I find myself unable to leave you behind, so the offer is serious now, would you come with me?"

Enya blinked, a serious offer? Raising a brow and turning her head to him she bit her lip and rubbed at the back of her head, "Hrmph....well...I guess that'd be fine and dandy...travel from this place might be kind of fun, and what of these people that are giving you such trouble? Shouldn't we give them hell in return for what they've done to you?"

Emb raised a brow. He hadn't figured the girl for a dangerous one, "That would only cause more strife between human and creature...would it not?"

Enya smiled, "Or it'll tell them to stop hunting, especially if their homes are razed to the ground."

Emb let out a breath, a sigh that seemed to rock the mountain itself "You're far more dangerous than I thought you were..."

Enya huffed, "And you're more boring than I thought you were, besides...what if it is just one home, or even just a show of fire from the mountain, can you imagine the fear upon their faces?"

Emb had to admit, a frightening display may at least keep the weaker willed humans away, but still, "We will be rid of this place soon enough...there is no need--"

The phoenix's words were interrupted by a light peck upon his feathered cheek coming from the lips of the human beside him. The kiss was followed by a pleading response, "At least just a light show, that'll show them...it'll also give the villagers faith that you're yet alive..."

Emb had to find a way to free himself of her influence. He was beginning to enjoy the thought of seeing humans frightened by his might, a thought that he would have never usually entertained, quickly he made a desperate play, "Then accept my offer, be my wife and take my seed and we'll frighten the petty humans..."

Enya let out a laugh and cupped his cheeks as best she could while calling his bluff, "You have a deal then...you'll get your sex you perverse bird...in exchange for a bit of hell and a flight of fancy"

Though the pun grated on his nerves quite a bit, he was stunned in awe of the audacity of this girl. She had turned a joke into a serious offer and was now pushing him into sex in exchange for a display of might to frighten some humans as a joke, and he had no time to refuse. Already she was against his body, hand feeling low, far lower than she should have gone. There she found his slit where already the tip of his cock was poking out. He had to admit the talk of sex had aroused him somewhat. He was a lonely phoenix after all, not many others of his kind or stature existed nearby. It was a difficult decision only made more so by the influence that she held upon him as well as the hand that was now stroking at his growing erect cock. Letting out a coo, his body shook and he allowed her to take control, closing his eyes, just a bit shamed at how easy it was for his mind to be swayed by a human.

What a thrill. To take such a large and godlike creature down with the touch of her hands. All she needed to do was grab hold of his thick member and say all the sweet things in the world and she could have this bird doing whatever she wanted. Really, she liked emb, she thought he was an amazing creature, a beautiful one at that, but he was also her ticket to true freedom, and perhaps to basically whatever she wanted. Enya could even start her own nation if she pleased.

Turning to her thoughts to the cock in hand, she smiled and gripped on just a bit tighter, it was so very warm and much thicker than anything she had experienced certainly, it was to be expected after all. Kneeling down she moved to inspect her catch, staring over the pink member with a small smile. For such a large thing it looked cute to her. Leaning in she gave the tip a light kiss and giggled as it twitched, pre already dribbling from the tip. Tongue coming out slowly she gave the tip a lick, capturing some of that pre and only just barely regretting it. The stuff was spicy, hot, but then it cooled down in her mouth quite pleasantly, an odd sensation for sure and one that she continued to feel as she stuffed the tip of the phoenix's cock into her mouth, both of her other hands working to stroke and milk the large avian's member. Already she could feel him move, thrusting lightly, trying to work more of his cock into her mouth. Of course that was too much to ask, but she did grip on tighter, stroking faster, her mouth moving to lick down that shaft to lube it up nicely. Breathing out she gave a light kiss to the tip yet again and looked up at the phoenix, "So...are you still so unsure of this?"

With a flutter of his wings Emb let out a sigh and moved his head to push her over, "No...I don't think I'll have any regrets..."

On her back she blinked as suddenly her clothes suddenly burst into flames. She yelped and covered hers pale curvy form up as soon as she realized she was safe, "What in the hells name do you think you're doing you oversized chicken!?"

Emb only let out a rumbling laughter as he leaned over her, his massive form overlapping hers, his thick member resting upon her crotch now, twitching, that warm stuff dripping out on to her body causing her to squirm just a bit. Enya had to admit that the added danger of those flames not only gave her quite the fright, but it had her excited as well. She loved danger, excitement, the difference from everyday life that she so craved right there, and now it was poking against her crotch. Letting out a groan she squeaked when she suddenly felt the tip of that thing poking against her entrance, pushing and shoving until finally it stretched her. Gasping she bit at her knuckle and winced. It hurt so damn much to be thrust into so firmly by such a large creature on first penetration. He wasn't being nice anymore and he was taking charge of the situation rather than just letting her walk all over him. In this Enya realized that she had been beaten. She was on her back and being thrust into again and again, her insides tightening on that thick thing piercing her insides, and perhaps the fact that she had been defeated so handily was only that much more of an interesting venture. Giggling and gasping as she was thrust into she stared up at the bird with such a silly smirk, loving the fact that she had gotten him to show his fire to her. In fact the longer they went, the more of that unbearable heat she felt, except this time that unbearable heat was such a pleasure to have. Toes curling she did her best to hook her legs around the avian while he thrust into her, licking at her lips as she felt him twitch inside of her pussy, she knew he would be cumming soon, whether from their connection or just from the fact that his thrusts were getting so quick, so desperate!

Emb was indeed close. His thrusts were much faster, his cock throbbing, swelling just a bit inside of her as he pushed as deep as he could inside of her without harming her. Clenching his eyes shut he let out a loud cry that perhaps the entire world would hear as his orgasm finally came through.

Enya squealed as she felt that massive cock twitch and spurt out so much warm liquid inside of her pussy. She cried out and her insides clenched tight as she felt her own orgasm. Red hair sticking to her sweaty face she giggled and sit up only to gasp as her insides were being still filled by that cock as if he were a damn pump full of the stuff. She grunted and groaned as her insides constantly assaulted by that hot liquid sticking to her insides and traveling so far deep inside of her she could barely believe it. Once he was finally done inside of her his cock slipped free with a wet pop. Gasping, chest heaving she finally sat up and let out a laugh, "That was amazing! Oh we'll have to do that again once we finish our fun! C'mon Emb let's go now!"

The phoenix raised a brow. The girl was an infinite fount of energy, and an infectious one at that. No longer being able to argue with her, he crouched down low and folded his wings allowing her to get on his back. Naked, dripping and most importantly sore she clambered on to his back and flicked red hair out of her face, "Let's go show those idiots a thing or two and then well....uh...well we should probably go back to the village for supplies hah, or we could ransack one of the outer kingdom towns or something right?"

Infected with her influence Emb gave a slight shrug as he rose, his large wings coming out, flapping as he took to the skies, "Well, I suppose a bit of thievery won't be the worst of our crimes if you're leading the charge." Enya could only laugh as they took the skies.

They say that day a dark omen came over the skies. A woman cloaked in flames riding a creature of immense proportions crashed into a small farm outside of the castle. The family there had been out on business and had only returned just in time to see the large creature emerge from the flames, only to take flight, the woman on its back laughing, laughing so mischievously almost like a child. Struck by awe, none had enough time to register where the beast flew to, or even if they were it seemed to vanish into thin air, that oppressive flame disappearing with it.

Enya had her plans, she had perhaps too many plans. She would come back to her village one day when she was older. She knew her father would be fine without her, and she knew he would know she was fine. She had made sure of it by leaving him a present of royal gold just outside of his home so he could do whatever she wanted without her. Lying on the back of Emb while he flew, she wondered where they would even go. She had never even been outside of the village. Perhaps she would take her hand at bounty hunting, or more importantly...she would take her hand at finding more phoenixes. She couldn't be the only one connected to such a creature and so her search began, but not without a bit of fun on the way.
