#34 of Story Commissions

A commission done for FA: Bigsol of his wolf character, Kade. My little tiger Iggy, living in a world constantly visited by titans gets a hell of a new segment for his online show, "Journey Through the Mostly Known". Involves very big wolves and paws, that kind of stuff.

"Alright, is this thing on?"

The tiger grumbled, fuddling around with the smart phone on his hand and his microphone. After finally getting it to focus on him, Ricardo let out a grunt. He panned the camera out to himself -or what he could to the best of his abilities-- and the environment behind him. What lay behind him were buildings upon buildings of the city he camped out miles away from. He couldn't get a glimpse of what else there was, but it wasn't like he was going to be here for long. Ignatius was an up and coming filmmaker in a field that suddenly sprung up a few years back. Neither Ignatius, nor anyone else could explain it, but he felt like he didn't need to and decided to let his camera work do the talking for him.

"Great, this is awesome. Okay, deep breaths, Iggy, you've done this once before..." Ignatius mumbled to himself. He soon turned the camera to record and pointed it towards the city with a deep breath.

"Alright, welcome folks to another installment of 'Iggy's Journey Through the Mostly Known'. Here I am today in some small town where there's been rumors of another titan sighting. I've no idea if these rumors are complete fact, but better to be safe than sorry. I've been camping out here for the last few days," Iggy turned the phone toward his camping equipment set up behind him. He'd found a nice and small mountain where he could get an overlook of the city and turned his phone toward there and resumed.

", in the hopes that I'm totally right about this. I've only been recording fights of the humongous proportions for the last few years by sheer luck, so here's hoping it doesn't run out." Iggy finished. It has been a crazy few years, that was definite. The Caspian tiger previously worked at a news station at his home town before the whole place was leveled by some giant freaks. They called them Titans, for lack of a better word. These beings usually popped up out of nowhere or were previously normal sized folks gone wrong. Ever since then, people have tried to find out what exactly has been causing it, but the solution has been way over their scope. Others, like himself, decided to try and record the sightings to compile the information together either for profit or for the sake of the world.

Iggy didn't think much about the grand scheme, but if something like this was happening, maybe one of these giants were peaceful and could actually help. The only public information people had access to had been the fact that these folks sometimes just appeared from thin air, which was utter bull. Nothing of that size and matter could suddenly materialize like that without some form of warning. Iggy pressed the pause button on his phone to check the time. Another thing they had in common was that all of these guys usually appeared around sunset. Someone made the connection between these guys and the "Tokusatusu" genre in that most of the shows originating from the early 60's to the 70's had fights occur at the same time as well.

"If these guys are aliens, then they have good taste in TV." Iggy chuckled to himself before putting his phone in his pocket and stretching his limbs. Ever since the first incident and his first brush with possible death, Iggy made it prudent to start working out. The feline stood at a healthy seven feet and had a rather athletic frame. He took up parkour, among other things to keep himself nimble since he really didn't feel like being between some giant's toes. At the mere thought of it, he coughed and turned his head as if someone were watching him.

"But yeah, it's approaching sunset. Hopefully this one isn't a bust, I want to keep my streak if anything..." Iggy mumbled.

The minutes started ticking before Iggy pulled out his phone and pointed it at the city once more. Before long, a loud crackle of thunder ripped through the sky alongside lightning. Iggy stared up at the clear sky. There was not a sight of a rain cloud, so wha...? He quickly pressed record once more after the second crack erupted from the sky. He didn't have time to grab his stuff; he had to find another spot just in case.

"And it seems I was right, everyone! Fair warning, don't have headphones on since there's loud sounds going around in the background. As you can see, it's clear as day with no clouds but there's obviously thunder and lightning going on. Is this possibly the sign of a Titan? Let's find out in a few minutes." Iggy exclaimed. He kept his phone pointed toward the air, watching the small bit of clouds that were there spin and warp around. It didn't take long, but something past the city's distance began to form. Iggy zoomed in as best he could before running back to his bag and grabbing the zoom lens for his phone before going even further.

"Okay, I've got visual and it seems like the first thing is...a giant foot? It looks specifically canine judging from the pawpads, but- Oh shit!" Iggy paused his recording and covered his ears. The large foot descending onto the planet soon smacked the ground with a record breaking earthquake. After iggy covered his ears, he ducked and covered for the impending effect. The roaring winds came first, then the sound of the impact from the horizon.

Once the sound faded, Iggy lifted up his head to scan the area. The trees near the impact radius were all but blown away and he was sure people in the city were freaking out judging from the blaring car alarms and sirens going off in the distance. He let out a sigh before putting up his camera alongside his lens and microphone again and pressed record. "Alright, I think that was the worst of it for now. From here, I can see what looks to be two giant canine feet, but I can't exactly spy the body. Whether he's that tall or he's lying down, we'll find out in a few minutes. In the meanwhile, this brave cat is gonna try and get closer, so bare with me." Iggy spoke.

He would have to move fast if he wanted to get a good view and remain in safe distance. The impact had kicked up a massive cloud of dirt that hung around the canine's toes, each digit reaching as far as the highest building. If Iggy was right, this would have to be one of the bigger ones. If anything, that left him a lot more time to pack up and cover ground. He left his tent and gathered all of his stuff before heading out. He'd spied another cliff even closer to the city, so he was bound to get a better look there. After packing up, the tiger shot off into the dense green forest as fast as he could.

"Okay, judging by the size of those stompers, I should be there by the time he's gotten up. That's betting on him being one of the slow ones, though." He muttered to himself. No matter how fast he was, his top priority was not getting discovered and getting decent footage. No more than twenty minutes passed in Iggy's run before the ground began to shake once more. It was less powerful tthan the last and came in small waves. If he had to guess, the big guy was getting up. Ten minutes of quakes later and Iggy arrived at the next cliff, panting for breath. He dove into his bag for a bottle of water and downed the entire thing before focusing his phone toward the newly descended giant. Sometimes he didn't like being right because it led to bad things. At least for this, he was right.

A wolf of titanic proportions loomed over the city, his feet brushing against the buildings at the edge of it. He had white fur and seemed to be incredibly tired. The lumbering beast sat on the ground cross legged, staring at the tiny city under him with a curious look on his face. He seemed to sport some odd bling on him too.

"So, our visitor for the day seems like a gigas lupus and he's incredibly curious as to where he is. He's got some sort of earrings on too, but I really can't make out what they look like from here," Iggy zoomed in best as he could, but could only get so far from his position. If anything, he'd have to try and find out later. For now, he had a job to do. "But at the very least, he seems pretty docile. All I can hear from here are the sirens and car alarms so everyone is most likely panicking and told to stay in their homes."

"If I had to guess, this one has to be around four hundred feet, possibly even more so, which shatters all the records of our prior visitors- oop, seems like he's doing something!" Iggy shushed, watched intently for any signs of action. The wolf craned over the buildings of the city, some of the poor skyscrapers brushing against his enormously muscled neck. Iggy had neglected to mention that the wolf sitting down miles away was bigger than anything he'd ever seen before in terms of muscle. He sported broad enough shoulder to carry mountains on them, wide traps, an enormous chest that they could substitute as valleys and thick, bulging arms. He seemed to be looking for something amidst the chaos most likely going down there, but Iggy couldn't tell what.

"Okay, seems the gigas lupus found what he's looking for. It seems like...he's got some people! Oh jeez, this can't be good." Concern dripped from Iggy's voice, he watched with bated breath as a small cluster of people squirmed, trying to free themselves from the wolf's hand. He kept his grip tight, yet seemingly gentle enough to not do any sort of damage. "It seems like he just wants to keep them in place. I hope the police don't do anything rash over this."

Next, the titanic wolf pulled something out from the depths of his fur. "Is...is that a string?" Iggy muttered. "It does indeed to be one, though I wonder where he comes from that there's string at those sizes. He's opening his palm up and he's trying to tie the string onto something." A few minutes later and Iggy got his answer. He blinked in surprise as somehow, a few of the people that were in the palm of his hand were now tied to the string itself! He didn't know how, but somehow he made it work.

"Okay, you guys saw it here first. I've no idea how he did it, but this beast managed to tie some people onto the string he pulled out. What's he even going to do with them..."

Iggy's previous experiences told him that there were only a few options from here; Either he would simply eat them and that would be the end of that, he'd kidnap them to do god knows what, or he could just play with them and go on his merry way. His heart beat franticly as he watched the titanic wolf stare at his victims with curiosity. Just what was next?

He wondered why the heck they were so scared. He did make a rather loud entrance, but that didn't mean that they needed to be so rude about it! He was a guest after all, and they needed to treat him as such. Kade frowned a bit as he craned his neck over toward the small city in front of him. He simply figured that it was something like a miniature toy considering the size, only few of the buildings went past his toe. Upon extending his muscled neck, a few of the extremely taller structures brushed against his neck and tumbled with relative ease. He made a note to be careful about that.

But regardless, there was fun to be had! The last planet he visited was such a bore. No one really put up a fight against him and everything was over before it started. On his way over here, Kade was able to see the multitude of civilizations just ripe for the pickings. For now, this would be a little test drive. He could feel someone or something staring him, but he couldn't tell what. With a shrug of his shoulders, he leaned into the city again. The sounds of the sirens going off alongside the screams of the citizens were getting on his nerves, though. With a grunt, he scooped up as many people as he could with a smile on his face.

"See, there ya go. Now, how's about we play a little game? Don't try to escape before the best part..." Kade rumbled deeply. To the poor folks on his hand, he sounded like a veritable earthquake so much that they had to cover their ears from the blast of wind and sound that followed.

Kade pulled out a thin string from his white pelt, keeping the grip on the cluster of people in his hand tight enough so that they wouldn't escape, but gentle enough that he didn't squish them by accident. The last time that happened, he had to clean his hand for a week.

With the intent of not having that happen again, Kade took his time tying the string around the poor tinies and their various limbs. They seemed to get the drift that escaping was pretty pointless by now. At the height they were at, falling was a much worse consequence than being subjected to his wills. Kade smiled as he finished his knots and tying to reveal a necklace made from the citizens. Each of them was bound at the waist along the whole string, like beads. He slowly put the string around his neck and tied it with a happy rumble. Each of the poor folks was now smothered against Kade's fluffy pelt and bulging neck muscle. Every expansion of his neck from the pure act of breathing forced them against Kade, the wolf's natural scent overflowing their senses. With nothing but wolf fur to see and smell, Kade looked down with a minor frown. He only had a few left in his hand and some of the folks already there had fled. He could rip up the buildings later.

"Well, may as well make some use of you guys~" Kade cheered to himself.

Within a few moments was Kade pulling yet another string out, but not before perching a few of his other toys onto his muzzle. The broad canine had his eyes on them and they would hopefully get the fact that they had little to no chance of escaping. He fiddled around, cutting the rope with his claws and simply tying the small bits of rope with the tiny citizens into a knot. Before long, Kade had fashioned some rope rings for himself out of the several folks that were left. The wolf smiled to himself at his handiwork. And people said that he had no finesse.

Kade propped up his feet into the air, wiggling his digits to let the rope slip into his toes like rings. He fashioned one for reach toe, grinning from cheek to cheek. They felt so nice, too! They were like tiny little balls massaging at your toes. He considered this side project a success, and just off of one little place too!

"Imagine with the rest of this big blue place. I could probably sell them if I know how to start up a business, hmm..." Kade murmured. He shrugged his shoulders, deciding something like that was a bit too out of the way for him and continued on.

Kade lifted himself up, the ground shaking upon his movement. He dug his feet into the ground, the squirming around continuing even then -he really needed to get more for his other foot- and started his search for some more toys.

"Come out, come out where ever you are..." Kade sung.

Of course they weren't going to, but just saying it when he simply lorded over the entire city scope and the horizon made it funny to him. He scanned around the city blocks, not a soul was there and from what h could tell, even the cars were empty. He picked up the nearest one, an unlabeled white truck and clutched it between two massive fingers. The steel groaned and folded in from his grip, but that didn't stop Kade from rolling the truck around in his fingers before dragging it along the street like a child would with a race car, sounds and all.

He didn't need to make things quick. He had all the time in the world and no one could leave without him noticing, so it was best to have some fun when it came to getting some more toys. Besides, he had the whole planet to screw around with, may as well be patient about it.

Iggy didn't know whether to be mortified or wholly curious. This titan wasn't like the others. He didn't rampage around and destroy everything in sight, but he was calculated. He was calm, knew what he was going to do and he did with without minimal effort.

"I've...never seen anything like this. This titan seems peaceful, but that's anything but. I think he's...tied the locals that he could find onto his neck and foot, but doesn't seem to be looking for more. Everything seems to have gone quiet over in the city, but I doubt it'll remain that way for long." Iggy announced. "I at least hope he doesn't find me..."

The fear snuck through his brain very easily. He was in an easily discover-able spot, he couldn't dare to outrun the best. At best, he was stretching his luck to numerous amounts. Iggy would have been lying if he said he wasn't considering fleeing. But what would happen if he did? He would still suffer the chance of being caught if this beast's eyes were good enough.

"Though it seems his game is going very slowly, for my sake at least. If I had to surmise a guess, he's simply waiting for someone to come out knowing well he could obliterate that poor place in one strike. As for the ones caught, I've no idea what's become of them. I can't even see them since they're either underfoot or meshed in with his fur, but I hope they're okay." He finished with a sigh.

This was probably the most stressful part about his job. The fact that being noticed meant a plethora of things; his life could be forfeit before he even knew it, he could get capture and reduced to a plaything by the one in front of him or they wouldn't even care do both to him. He'd never run into or seen any film of one of these guys being peaceful. At the very least, this one was smart, so maybe he could reason with it?

No, he couldn't risk it. Just because he was taking this slowly didn't mean that general reason or logic could be applied. Hell, their entire existence defied it! Iggy shook his head with a grunt. Maybe getting away was the best idea. "Alright, I'm going to wrap it up here. Whether I make it out alive or not, this is your host Ignatius signing out." Iggy said. He pressed the stop button on his phone and shoved the phone into his pocket. When he looked up, his eyes widened.

He was staring right at him! Iggy and the titanic monster shared eye contact for a few moments, but that was all Iggy needed to know that he had to get the hell away. He didn't have many options of where to go under a large gaze, but he'd take the chance anyways. He ran down the mountain, the steps of the thundering wolf shaking the ground as he fled. The forest leading away from the city was his only hope of actually getting away. His leg muscles tensed as he literally jumped from rock to rock best he could.

"Come on legs, move!" Iggy shouted.

Ooh, he actually did find someone new! Kade knew he wasn't hallucinating when he first arrived here. He felt like he was being watched and it was only a matter of time until they made themselves known. Kade couldn't tell how many of them were there, but they seemed to be quick on their feet. Sadly, quickness didn't matter when their chaser was well over twenty times larger. Kade walked over the city, his footsteps fading away from the poor tortured area and made it into the forest with a single step. The trees in the forest were nothing more than pricks against his paw pads as Kade took his time slowly strolling through the forest.

"Come on, where are you guys..." Kade mumbled. The entire area spanned for a few miles which made it easy for them to hide, but if they were smart, they would have to keep moving around for the sake of not being crushed by his feet. It was much more fun than simply leveling the place, anyways. Kade sniffed the air for a few moments, pushing out the scent of the forest and the ground in some hope to find his presumed targets. It was difficult at his size, but the prowess of a canine nose made it that much easier.

As his steps filled the land with earthquakes, his toes dug into the ground, ripping everything up for the sole purpose of adding more hazards. If he made the ground much more treacherous to cross, that made it a lot easier to find them. So with every step came small canyons formed into the forest ground. Along with the stomped trees, it was going to be a very challenging trip.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Iggy yelled as he dashed through the forest as fast he could. Every few seconds, a loud quake shook the earth under his feet. It caught him off guard, but it wasn't bad enough that he had to be forced to walk. With the trees shaking, he also had to watch his step in case one of them was toppled over. He couldn't believe he let himself get found; it was such a rookie mistake. Hopefully his size would come out in his favor if he couldn't discover him. But something in the pit of Iggy's stomach told him that the titan was far smarter than he took credit for.

The minutes that passed by proved to the most stressful of Iggy's monster hunting and documentation career. He'd chosen a seemingly random path out of the forest, but he ran into a problem. Namely, the problem was big, fuzzy and blocked his path. Iggy would have considered himself fast enough to traverse past a paw that covered the size of a city block, but when the path around said foot was covered with ripped up ground and downed trees, Iggy was forced to think twice about it.

The same thing happened time after time again. Every time Iggy would reach the edge of the forest in another section, the wolf's feet would thoom right in front of him and rip up the land with his toes. The big lug was trying to keep him trapped! He could easily destroy the place if he decided to, but he wanted to make this into a game! Iggy grumbled, climbing into the nearest tree to consider his decisions. He could risk running into the destroyed land and giving his skills a shot to try and get away, but there was the chance of death. There was also hitching a ride on the big guy and hoping he didn't notice, but that carried the biggest risk of them all.

Before Iggy knew it, something covered the sky above it. Soon enough, his vision turned black and green. The rumbles and the confined space told him that he'd been caught with just a hand. And he was being so careful, too! He should have been more careful, he should have left when he got the chance. Maybe he could bargain his way out of here. Iggy squirmed in the titan's enormous hand, the leaves providing the only bit of cushioning from his grip.

"Ahh, so there you are!" The wolf's booming voice shook his ears once Iggy's body was freed. He was staring face to face with his captor, the tiger himself standing on said captor's hand. The thing itself could have classified as a landscape at his size. The tiger gulp as he tried to take in the wolf's enormous muzzle. The minor snorts from his nose caused a back draft strong enough to have him close his eyes.

"So, you've actually been pretty fun to look for, so congrats on that. Why though?" Kade asked the tiny tiger. Iggy flinched at the sound of his voice. His ears flattened against his head in some attempt to dull the strength of his voice.

"Well...I've been doing a recording of you guys." Iggy mumbled.

"Hmm? A what? Can't hear you exactly from all the way up here." Kade boomed again. Iggy shut his ears with his hands and grit his teeth before yelling the same thing back in response. Kade's ears perked along his with brow. If he heard right, he said something like a recording. Is that why? Why risk his life over something so silly? Kade stared down at Iggy for a few moments before nodding.

"Show me, I'm curious now."

At that moment, Kade found something far more interesting than something he considered a toy and Iggy discovered something that could change his career. All he had to do was play it carefully and make sure he didn't get squashed.
