Chapter Eight: Return of the Master

"So then perhaps we will have to do a little side manipulation to destroy Twilight and Riptide." Noon, a grey furred Hyena said as he twiddled his fingers, slowly formulating a plan as he tried to find an ample place for his plans in the real world. Looking down he found that a convention hall was being quickly filled with nerds and other such people.

Zooming in the world, Noon found himself staring at the Doctor Who banner. It quickly sprung to his mind as he remembered Twilight mentioning it to him multiple times. He looked around and decided to choose the evilest looking fellow to infect with his chaos. Looking around the convention hall he found a man in a blackish coat, with the most evil looking beard. Looking around their were quite a few that looked similar.

"Well strange man it looks like you are going to be the Master of my newest plan to weaken Twilight and Koji, slowly and surely we are going to drain them down and finally make them quit. He knew his plan and it sounded crazy but he knew what would work and what he needed to do.

"This shall be for the conquest of the Kagen Empire!" Noon said as he formed a portal in front of his body, exiting and finding himself on the Kagen planet. He was on his balcony overlooking his loyal followers. The sky was grey and filled with distorted clouds, the wind, architecture and even members suggested that at least Noon's part of the world was chaos.

"Now then my loyal followers, we have a few more assignments before I can invade and get the planet ready for your invasion, but we need a few more drops of Chaos energy in the pool." Noon said as he nicely asked his followers for a request, of course he was really demanding but his members were under his control.

One Hyena walked over to a massive well filled with black gooey energy, swirling around the well and chasing directions as it did. The Hyena grabbed his shirt and wringed it dripping all the chaos energy he had left and knocking him out. Noon laughed and then clapped, then the whole crowd followed him in madness.

Unlike the Kagens, Noon used his followers for his energy. Chaos energy was the lifeblood of his powers and he needed quite a bit to do major things with it. As soon as the pool was filled it swirled down to emptiness and made a toilet sound. With the chaos Noon would be able to win against Twilight.

...

"So please tell why we are at a Doctor Who convention when we could be saying searching for General Graham Cracker, or training for a confrontation with Noon, or say mastering Eric's werecrocodile powers?" Koji asked as he walked into the large convention area, that was already filled with a massive amount of fans for it being Eight O'clock in the morning.

"Well, while you don't like the show if we bring three people there is a discount, we might be a part of a secret government organization but they don't like us to spend our money on conventions but when we instead buy you a fourth doctor costume and put it under disguises they don't mind." Eric explained as Koji picked up a large multicolored scarf off the ground and flipped it once more around his neck.

"How the hell did Tom Baker carry this thing all day long, he must have been burning up the whole entire time and for seven long years in filming conditions, god bless that man." Koji said as he fanned himself, trying to deal with the heat on his body. He was wearing multiple layers starting with a white dress shirt, then an autumnal waistcoat and light red colored longcoat. Then there was the plaid tan pants and the massive colored scarf around his neck just to keep all the heat in.

"This thing belongs in the compartment of an emergency box of an Alaskan person, also seven years, he must have gone crazy, which based on his acting in some episodes he must have." Koji said as he walked forward passing a few booths with merchandise and things to sell. "Why are your two costumes so light, why couldn't I have that?"

"Well the fourth doctor is kind of the beginning doctor and that shows to the fandom you're interested and you get treated a certain way. As for us good costumes went out the door after the Sixth Doctor." Twilight said as a cosplayer in a rainbow colored coat walked by. Koji looked in amazement as he tried to figure out how someone could act as prideful as they looked like that much of a fashion disaster.

"Yeah, watch out the Fifth Doctors like to torment new guys as mental preparation for fandomness, and watch out for guys in crumbly face paint, they might take you to the top of the building and try to throw you off, and stay away from people with cactus faces, god the fandom really never did recover from the massive battle royale twenty years ago." Eric said as he was dressed in Tenth Doctor suit, with a blue pinstripe suit and a brown longcoat, he had a pair of 3-d glasses and he put his hair up and spiky.

"Hey you there! Master, Family of Blood stay away from us." Eric said as he turned around and a strange man in a black hoodie with the latest hobo look and a Victorian looking nuclear family started to follow Eric like stalker. He took out a strange silver colored device and flashed a blue light at them before they scattered.

"Be careful Koji this place is a toxic place for those that aren't use to constant mental torture, also speaking of mental torture stay away from a man with a brain dome or a man in white robes asking you to collect six keys around the convention. Unless it is time for the Key to Time scavenger hunt which is at One O'clock, I think." Twilight said as he listed off information to Koji. Twilight was in the War Doctor's costume combining the graces of both eras of the show.

"Well gezz, you wanted to go but you speak of it so badly, make up your mind." Koji said as he nearly tripped over his scarf for the fourth or fifth time. He pulled the scarf up again and wrapped another length around his head, almost so much that his neck was disappearing from the face of the Earth. "Did Tom Baker have no neck, because I feel that there was something wrong with his neck for him to need that much scarf."

"What Koji too much scarf not enough place?" Twilight said laughing at himself, as Koji left some scarf on the floor and nearly let Twilight trip over it. Koji rewrapped the scarf and decided that it might be useful for something. He looked around it and ignored the Eleventh Doctor trying to push him out of the group and put him with some sort of savage girl.

"Why didn't you guys take Jackson, I'm pretty sure that he would have wanted to go." Koji asked as he passed a strange looking group of white pepper pots with stalks for eyes, all giving them bad looks. Koji looked confused as the pepper pots met up with some sort of man in a half pepper pot suit with a mask on his body.

"Well the only costume that fits Jackson is the Sixth Doctor's and he hates that, because the Ranis and the Valeyards follow him around trying to kill him, also the Sevens try to manipulate him." Eric said as his attention was nearly taken away by a shiny thing. He looked around at all the merchandise and knew he couldn't get anything expensive.

"Ok, so I am going to the cosplay contest in order to win a production team model of the sonic screwdriver; you two have fun and don't get into any trouble with the Master." Eric said as he separated from the group and walked towards a set stage with a banner over it, "Cosplay Convention, no Sixes allowed."

"Well then let's go see if their actor interview stage?" Koji suggested to Twilight as they walked around the convention hall. They looked around and tried to find anything to do but it was mostly conversing with people and looking at people's fan made content that they built.

They finally found something worth their time as they completed the circuit around the convention hall, right before the entrance there was admission into the center court of the hall, with the banner "Science of Doctor Who." Koji noticed and looked into the court, where it seemed to be set up in a science fair like area, there were cosplayers and science looking folks in the room.

Koji walked in to the section of the hall and looked around at the first table Koji was amazed at an invisibility clock that surrounded the blue box known as the TARDIS making it disappear into thin air. Next to it was a flying TARDIS, using magnets pushing around the ground.

Koji looked around in amazement at the science around him, from explaining the timeline of the show which was nearly next to impossible, and crazy if one included the expanded universe they could be considered criminally insane. Yet people did so with a passion even in this city that seemed to be teetering between heaven and hell with all the attacks on it. Twilight walked around with a more skeptical approach; judging and offering advice as he had probably seen or thought of better ways to do was presented towards him. Both of them looked around, taking peaks at the proto-laser beams, schematics to build and ark, compressible matter and temporal manipulators. It all looked cool but most of it was math proving it could be done, but with no real working models.

However, there was one that looked like it would actually work, all the Third doctors gathered around the device looking at it skeptically and scanning it with their sonic screwdriver, trying to figure out what the Masters were doing on the stage with the strange device. Koji walked forward and looked at the device as he tried to figure it out.

"Ah hello dear doctors, today I Doctor Armets shall redefine psychological evaluation by creating a device that splits the psychological being of person into two; thus allowing a psychologist to elevate both sides and come to a better decision." The head master cosplayer said, keeping with the illusion that it was like the television show. Koji thought it was ridiculous on how deep that the people would go to put their mind into the character, but at the same time it was a bit alluring to lose yourself into a personality for a day or two be that person and act out your phantasies.

The companions to the Third Doctor all looked confused except for a series of redheads that showed up. The third doctors said something to the confused groups and then turned back towards Armets invention, pondering what it really did. Armets laughed a bit before looking out into the group.

"And now for a volunteer, don't worry it won't hurt a bit." Armets said as he "scanned" over the audience. His eyes settled on Twilight and Koji became instantly suspicious as it seemed actually not strange to pick one of the two none Third Doctor cosplayer in the crowd. Koji decided to remain optimistic and observe what would happen.

"Well then, I suppose it would be better than doing anything no more." Twilight said to the groaning of the Third Doctors. He walked through the crowds of velvet smoking jackets. Twilight arrived at the top of the stage and did a bow towards what was obviously a Master cosplayer.

"Ah respectful, I can see you have an old soul." "Armets" said as Twilight laughed a bit, he stepped onto the marked circle and the device started up. Koji waited a few seconds and suddenly he looked into Armets's eyes, he saw them turn from brown to grey. Koji tried to shout but he couldn't reach Twilight, as the spinning of the device blocked out all sides.

Energy spun around two rotating cylinder and as the device spun, Koji tried to get Twilight's attention but by the time he started to jump and wave his arms. Energy flooded down from the cylinders and engulfed Twilight. The cylinders continued spinning as Armets smiled, his grey eyes showing.

The cylinders started to extend and spread the energy out. Twilight's eternal screams were heard as his body shifted and disappeared. The energy wave spread out and reformed two bodies. One had the look of Twilight, but was shorter and had blue eyes and the other was as tall as Twilight but only looked familiar and had red eyes.

"Oh my god." Koji said gasping as he pondered what happened to Twilight. The sharks wondered off the stage and the Third Doctors and their companions looked in confusion at what was happening. Both Twilights rolled off stage and stumbled through the crowds before finding themselves next to Koji, who was confused at what happened.

"Oh Koji, what happened..." Both Twilights said as they realized that there were two of them. They turned for each other and looked at each other and scanned each other. The taller one with the strange face bent down and to scan the smaller one with his face.

"Interesting." Both said at the same time as they looked at each other waiting for something to throw their lines out of sync. "So is that what my face looks like, quite sexy." The Twilights said to each other as the Third Doctors gathered around them scanning them with toy screwdrivers.

"And this how it is going to end, Twilight flirting with himself." Koji said as he separated both of them making sure that he pushed one out of the way at different times to de-sync them. Both of them stopped and as they looked back, the crowd of Masters had disappeared from the stage and back into the convention hall.

"I think Noon might have done this, we need to find the Master that has grey or brown eyes. Also first off I can't call your both Twilight, matching face but no height, your Sundown; matching height off face your Moonrise." Koji said making sure that he wouldn't get confused.

"Ok, Sunrise follow me we're going to find the Master. Moonrise you call Jackson and get him over here, and see if any of the inventions can help us here." Koji said as they spilt up into two groups. Koji exited the convention stage and started to look for all the first Masters. He looked around and everyone looked the same, Sunrise looked at Koji with intense eyes like he was trying to protecting him.

"Ok, first off what's with you, what personality side are you?" Koji asked becoming more talkative as he took control of the situation. He looked around and knew that Noon was slowly getting into their minds; playing mental games with them and slowly waiting for them to crack. Sundown looked confused as being a secondary personality body, he would have no idea what was missing from his head.

"Ok, Noon is slowly trying to get in our heads; I need help Sundown, help me find the one that is present." Koji said as he decided to push on of Twilight's buttons to see what would happen. Sundown looked around and went into action, he flew around the convention hall with a fast speed, looking around and trying to find the Master.

...

"So can this thing be used to protect the Earth?" Moonrise asked as he looked at one of the inventions at the science fair. It was an electric charge that could connect to each other and trap someone while knocking them out. The creator looked confused as Moonrise almost interrogated him.

"Wouldn't you rather protect your other friend; you looked pretty invested in protecting him from that strange Master cosplayer." The inventor said turning the table back on Moonrise as he asked a question. Moonrise looked confused for a few seconds.

"I only help Riptide, because Sundown loves him. The Earth needs to be protected from the Kagen threat, could this be used to shield the Earth?" Moonrise admitted showing his side of the personality that he got. Moonrise was passionate for the Earth and her resources.

"What's a Kagen?" The inventor said before figuring that he misunderstood the word. "Well if these were launched into Earth orbit and given sufficient power, they could explode, hold the charge and shield the Earth, but the power source would need to be outside of the shield and could be attacked." The inventor said as he figured out something.

"By the way my name is Soren Karenna." The inventor said extending his hand and shaking it with Moonrise as the half-Kagen shark walked away and looked at all the other inventions. Moonrise walked to the next and took a look at the magnet manipulation device. After a while all the inventors were looked at and Moonrise had quite a few numbers of scientists in case he needed the help.

Soon enough an orca with a rainbow colored coat and a red polka dot cravat and a waistcoat. He looked pretty dissatisfied with what was going on. Moonrise walked over and Jackson looked confused. He looked into the familiar face and it took him a few seconds to realize that it was Twilight.

"No, I'm Moonrise right now. Noon infected a cosplayer and he made a device to separate Twilight into two personalities, me, and Sundown, who right now is all over Koji. Now we have to see if we can fix this, I've gotten all the Ms. Shaws, and they're try to see if they can reverse the machine, all the Thirds are chasing with Koji after Noon, and isn't this just a fantastic little convention. Watch out you have a Rani and a Master following you." Moonrise said as Jackson shooed off his two followers. He walked over to the machine and showed him the electrical panel on the side of the machine.

"I can't figure it out, theirs a neutron flow but its polarity keeps on reversing; it I can get it to keep in the reversed positon then it could easily re-fuse us back into one body." Moonrise said dropping some serious technobabble on Jackson as he looked confused.

"Ok, a little less technobabble, a little more ties to the current situation." Jackson commanded as he tried to get more digestible information from the half-shark. He looked at the wires and energy seemed to be traveling up the wire before going back down it in a feedback loop.

"We need to find the Master and can tell us how to reverse this." Moonrise said as he showed Jackson the wires. "If this keeps going on the feedback loop might explode, and if the wires are too strong this might take out the whole county and cause thousands of years of ecological damage."

"Ok, calm down, we might be able to slowly discharge the energy and lighten the feedback loop." Jackson suggested as he figured that the energy might be slowly released to lighten the pressure on the energy pipes. "Wait, if we can get Koji to absorb some of the energy and that should lighten the pressure."

"No, Sundown wouldn't like that he got all of Twilight's code to protect Koji, while I got his determination to protect the Earth at all cost, we are just a psychologists field day, which I also guess was the Master's plan all along, I also got the part that over extends sentences, so yeah Sundown must be a breeze." Moonrise said as he explained to Jackson what had happened to them.

"Ok, well then come on let's get going." Moonrise said as he walked out of the hall, laughing a bit as he saw Jackson with the rainbow longcoat on his body. "Nice coat orca." Jackson blushed as they walked off the stage talking the same route that the Masters did before.

They walked out into the convention hall and their appeared to be millions of people in the convention hall; they needed to find one of the hundreds of master cosplayers in the building and it appeared that everywhere it could be any one in the building. Jackson got out his phone and called the police; he would lock down the convention and prevent anyone from leaving.

"Ok, now no can leave here, question is do we believe that we can work faster if we get all the Doctors on this, as I'm sure they'd love a mystery." Moonrise said as he walked out around the stage exit, looking around trying to see if he could see the Master that did this. He looked around so many evil beards, so many people that could be the one. He knew that it would take a lot to find Noon.

...

"Ok, see anyone Sundown?" Koji asked as he looked around the convention trying to see if there was any strange or unruly behavior from any of the Masters. If Jackson arrived soon he would close the place down until they found the person, but no one was leaving through the front entrance.

"No one presents a threat to your safety, Riptide Sir." Sundown said as he showed his unwavering loyalty to Koji, keeping him safe from no one that would even thing of publicly attacking him. Koji groaned as he seemed to pick the wrong Twilight, while it was comforting to see Twilight's face still, he was bit too protective.

"Ok, search for any Masters, and assume that anyone that is possessed by Noon, is a possible threat, but first confirm with me before attacking." Koji said twisting the rules around Sundown and keeping him in line. While he couldn't stop the half-shark from wanting to protect Koji, he could at least use that to his advantage.

Koji thought about how sweet it was that at least one side of Twilight had an unwavering instinct to protect him was, and that he figured it meant the experiment went right in some sort of sense. He decided to give another hug to Twilight, when they would refuse into one being.

Koji's phone rang then, it appeared to be Jackson on the phone. He picked it up and their appeared to be arguing on the line. It was static for a few seconds before the sound of someone getting pushed away, with a large blow. Meanwhile there was the sound of people screaming in the background of the phone, and in the other side of the convention hall their appeared to be a crowd rushing toward the back.

"Hello Riptide or should I call you Koji, don't worry I won't give out your big identity but as it seems Jackson isn't powerful enough as Eric to hide his thoughts, or I'm just that more powerful." Noon said boasting for himself as he spoke through Jackson. Koji shivered as he thought of a Kagen more powerful than Afternoon.

He looked and around and signaled to Sundown. Decided not to travel around the hall but instead take the route that the Master did. He and the half-shark ran through the science area and jumped up on the stage as they passed the infernal device and towards the back of the stage.

He looked around and walked forward as he tried to keep going towards possessed Jackson. Koji walked forward and looked at Jackson as he faced them knowing that they were coming this way. Koji and Sundown looked around and Moonrise walked through the door and made his way towards Koji.

"Well then Noon, it appears you have your way into one of our minds congratulation we'll have to work on that in the future." Koji said taking the leads, he was thinking in the back of his mind that he forgot something.

"When space becomes near and time becomes weighted; beware the beast with the massive shade." Afternoon said through Jackson before Eric suddenly returned swinging through the audience and knocking him back into the stage in true Tenth Doctor fashion.

"Now then, both of you use your spilt mental powers on Jackson to free him, while we use the device on him; then you two have a connection." Koji said as he made a quick realization that it would use up the energy that was built up and allow him to recombine Twilight into one being. "Come on you three help me."

"Why are their two of you?" Eric asked as he viewed the two Twilights helping him drag Jackson over to a strange device. Koji made an I'll explain later face as he looked at the wires of the device. Eric shrugged it off and stood Jackson up as Moonrise stood on one side and placed his hands on Jackson's head while Sundown did the same, while smiling at Koji.

Koji waved goodbye as Jackson shook. The Orca's eyes flicked between both colors, but hopefully Twilight at full power would be able to block him and prevent him from re-entering like before with Eric. Koji nodded at the three and flicked the button. The device's cylinders spun with energy and it flew down. Both tornados of energy engulfed both as they used their powers on Jackson. The two energy swirls combined and slowly shrunk as two voices of screaming became one.

Jackson was knocked out of the tornado as his eyes flickered back and forth, finally changing back to normal as Afternoon was kicked out of the convention. The tornado stopped and as the energy receded Koji pulled out the wires and absorbed the remaining energy as Twilight returned.

"Oh, I'm back." Twilight said looking at his body making sure everything was normalized. Nothing looked off and he seemed to be just the right height as Koji walked over and gave him a big bear hug. However, undenounced to Koji as the stimuli was introduced his eyes switched from their normal brown color, and changed from red to blue and flickered back and forth.

...

"This isn't witchcraft; we're just using what we have." A strange man in a hooded black robe said as he put a shard of the black book he got from the site if Afternoon's death. "The Outsiders missed a spot check, one piece for a tiny rift to be open and allow some of Noon's energy to be transferred."

A man stood in the middle, over the black book shard; around him five candles and five men with mirrors behind the fire. The hooded man fired a laser pointer at the black book, adding proton energies to it and causing its power to activate. A blast fired out and went through the first fire, bouncing off the mirror and going through another, bouncing and passing through another fire. Finally the shape of a pentagram formed and the room glowed blue.

"We right ourselves out of the story never to be seen again!" The hooded man said as blue energy flowed out of his and the other four mirror holders bodies. They all passed out as the man in the center glowed blue. There was an explosion as Afternoon gave some of his power.

"When time becomes weighted and space is so near; beware the shadow beast with a massive fear. Fire and brimstone flies down upon Earth, beware the weight of its massive berth. All of it is coming so soon; all fated is the coming of the Kagen, Noon." The man said as he walked out of the fading pentagram and walked out of the room.
