#7 of So Furry Presents: The Amazing Race

On the last leg of the Amazing Race, the remaining teams went to Seattle. Once there, they had to either complete a challenging obstacle course or outsmart the Seattle Seahawks. The bakers found a special power and hindered The Axis by stopping one of their teams. In a surprise, the prostitutes scored first and the movie experts were sent home. There's still 12 teams remaining and this leg's gonna be a doozy.

***

"Welcome back to the Space Needle, Seattle." Toner, the host of the race says. "We're halfway into the race. Before we start, I'm dropping another big twist into the game. It's called the Express Pass. Whoever finds it gets to keep one. The catch? They must give another to a different team before it becomes valid. What the Pass does is it allows a team to skip any task and move straight to the next one.

"Now that that's out of the way, yesterday's winners are today's first team up." Devon steps up, hits the button on the clue box and reads it.

"Route Info: Head back to the Seattle Airport and take a direct flight to... Hawaii!"

"Really?" Jon asks, excited. "I've always wanted to go there." You heard them right. Teams will take Toner's private plane on a 7-hour flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. The Express Passes are on the plane.

The rest of the teams get their clues and head back to bus and drive to the airport.

***

All 12 teams settle in for the flight. It's 7:22 am. They should arrive around 2:30 in the afternoon. Jon & Devon got to be in First Class along with Toner, who's asleep.

Robbie is already asleep as well as most of the contestants. Rob gets his pillow and sits back down. He goes to fluff it but he feels something. He reaches a paw into the pillow case and he touches something smooth and flat. Rob grabs it and pulls it out. In his paw are both Express Passes. He quickly hides them and nudges his brother.

"Robbie." He whispers.

"Mmmmmm. What?" He groggily says.

"Look what I found." He holds up the passes so only they will see it.

"Express Passes." Robbie whispers and reads the post it note Toner left. "With these passes you can skip one task in the race and move on to the next one. Before you want use it, you must give one of these to another team. Only then will it become valid."

"Give one to another team?" Rob whispers. "I've got an idea. Follow me." Rob gets out of his seat and quietly walks forward and into First Class. His brother right behind him. "There they are." Rob points to the prostitutes. He walks up to them and taps Devon's shoulder.

"Rob? Robbie? You can't be in here." Devon says.

"If you give us 5 minutes, we promise it'll be worth it." Robbie says.

"Ok. Sure. What's up?" Jon asks.

"We found these." Rob holds up the Express Passes. "But they're only valid if we give one to another team."

"Ok?" Devon thinks he knows where this is going.

"If we give you one," Robbie says, "would you agree to a possible alliance?"

"Sure." Jon says. Rob hands him one of the Express Passes and the brother quietly sneak back into coach.

After the flight, players get their next clue. "Route Info: get the Amazing Race bus and head to Hanakahi Street in Ewa Beach." Jennifer reads.

"We better go." Angie says.

"Right." Seven says. The Axis is down to only two teams: the sorority sisters and the adrenaline junkies. The rest of the teams get their clue and get on the bus. Hanakahi Street is about a 25 minute drive from the airport.

Once the bus stops, the teams get off and run to the next clue box which is right outside Toner's Hawaiian house.

"Roadblock: whoever didn't do the Jalapeño Challenge in Mt Rushmore must now do the... Kamehameha Challenge?" Claudia reads. "Ok. What does that mean?" It's a tradition in Honolulu that on Kamehameha Day (June 11th), authentic leis are put on the statue of King Kamehameha himself. For this roadblock, teams will head to Toner's backyard where a statue of him with his arms out stands. They have to toss authentic leis onto his arm before they continue to the next task. The catch is that his arm is seven feet off the ground and they have to toss is from 5 ft away.

"Looks like it's my turn." Claudia says. Her along with the others whose turn it is to do the roadblock (Cody, Jennifer, Mabel, Richie, Brent, Stuart, Tommy, Ashley, Robbie, Helga, and Devon). Their partners wait on the street for them.

Claudia gets her paws on a lei first. She steps up to the line and tosses it at Toner's statue. She misses. "Damn it." She mutters as she go gets it.

Cody and Jennifer step up and try it. Both miss by a couple inches. "Crap." Cody says. Remember when he got salt water in his eyes and still has to wear glasses? He's starting to think that's why his aim is off.

Ashley misses, Tommy misses, Helga misses. "Come on! How hard can this be?" Helga says.

"Apparently very." Devon says as he tries to make it. The wind blows the lei away.

Brent tries it and almost gets it. Mabel then steps up. "Oh. I'm sorry." Brent says, blushing. "I'll just... get out of your way."

"Thanks." Mabel says. Why am I all of a sudden nervous around Brent? Mabel thinks. I've been working with him all week. She can't stop thinking about how Brent carried her in Chicago or when he helped her out in the flag catch challenge.

"Hey pinkie!" Helga yells and Mabel snaps out of it. "You take a toss or not?" Helga tosses again and it catches on the arm. "Sweet!" Helga runs off and Mabel tries again. Miss.

Helga hits the button the clue box in the backyard. "Route Info: Reunite with your partner and run to Ewa Beach Park." Helga reads. She runs out of the yard back into the street. Her and Gretel meet up and then they start running.

"Where to?" Gretel asks.

"Ewa Beach."

***

"C'mon Stuart," Jennifer tosses again, "we can't lose another one of us."

"I know." Stuart tries again. Again, missed it.

"Let's do this teammate," Richie says to Tommy, "we've already missed this 4 times alrwady."

"5th time's a charm?" Tommy says. Both try again at the same time. Both leis make it on the arm of the statue.

"Sweet!" Richie and Tommy high five and they take their next clue. Claudia gets her lei on next.

"Where to?" Hans asks when the bakers reunite.

"Ewa beach." Claudia says. "Now run!!!" The take off.

Brent steps up. He gets ready when he hears Claudia mention a beach. He starts to imagine him and Mabel on a beach holding paws and... What am I thinking? Brent thinks. He randomly tosses the lei and makes it on the arm.

"Awesome." He says. He then bumps into Mabel. "Oh... Umm... I can't wait for you if that's ok." Brent scratches the back of his head.

"No that's fine. You can go ahead." Mabel says with an accidental giggle at the end. Brent then runs off.

"Ug. You two make me sick." Cody says. He tosses again his lei lands on the arm.

***

Helga & Gretel and Hans & Claudia are the first two teams to arrive at the beach. Helga gets their clue first. "Detour: drums or hula." She reads. "Uh... what?" For this detour, teams can either play the Amazing Race theme song on a tradition Hawaiian drum known as the Pahu, or they can do the hula dance. Do either task and the Hawaiian civilians (pink wolf and a blue fox) will give them the thumbs up. From there, it's a mile jog down the cost to the checkpoint. Last team there is out of the race

"Hula dance." Claudia says.

"Drums." Helga says. "No way am I getting in a skirt and dancing my pants off." The blue fox (Eric) is looking after the ones on the drums. He sits down in the sand and stars playing the beat of the theme tune.

"Listen closely Helga." Gretel says.

"I know what I'm doing."

Tommy & Regina and Richie & Vlad arrive next. "Drums." Vlad says. "Definitely drums."

"You sure?" Regina asks.

"Of course." Vlad says. "We're songwriters. We know how to follow a beat."

"And you just jinxed us." Richie says.

***

Mabel eventually got the Kamehameha Challenge done but it was after The Axis players did it. "Mabel, what is up with you?" June asks as they start running.

"I don't know." Mabel says.

"You've been distracted lately by something. What's on your mind?"

"Nothing. I'm just... nervous ok?"

"About what?"

"Can we talk after the leg of the race is over?"

"Fine." June gives up.

"Sweet!" Devon got the lei on Toner's statued arm and gets the next clue. This leaves Ashley and Robbie left in the roadblock.

"Forget this! I'm using the Express Pass." Robbie walks over to the clue box. There's a slot on the back behind the button. He takes his pass and puts it in. In exchange, the next clue comes out. Robbie then runs out of the backyard and meets up with Rob.

"What happened?" Rob asks.

"I'm sorry bro, I had to use our Express Pass in order to keep up." Robbie confesses.

"That's ok. The sisters are still behind us."

"C'mon Ashley! We're in last place!" Jo yells from the street. Ashley grabs another lei, focuses on the arm is the statue and tosses. It makes it. Ashley gets the next clue and runs out.

"Where to?" Jo asks.

"Ewa Beach." Ashley says.

***

As teams arrive, some choose hula dancing (Cody & Dave, Brent & Syd, Angie & Jennifer, and Seven & Stuart) while other choose the play the Pahu (Rob & Robbie and Jon & Devon).

The hula observer (pink wolf; Jasmine) watches as teams get in their hula skirts. "This is completely humiliating." Brent says.

"Would you rather play the drums?" Syd asks. "I told you, this is easier."

"I know. Where's June & Mabel? I thought they'd be here by now."

"They're behind remember? They told us to go ahead."

"We're here." Mabel says. June grabs the clue.

"What do you want to do?" June asks.

"Hula dancing." Mabel says, eyeing Brent in a grass skirt. "Because you're... part Hawaiian, remember?" She tries to make an excuse.

"True." June becomes suspicious. Although Mabel is right; June's grandparents were born and raised in Hawaii.

Helga & Gretel take their turn at the drums. They remember the song completely even though it's only 20 seconds. They starts out just fine. This is easy, Gretel thought. The song has the same beat not of the song. Towards the end, there's 8 taps and then rapid beating then it's over.

Eric gives Helga & Gretel the thumbs up when they're done. "Nice!" Helga says as they start running.

Richie & Vlad were next. However, Eric gave them a thumbs down. "What? Why?" Vlad asks.

"You guys played a bit fast." Eric says. "Next!" That would be Tommy & Regina.

"You think you know it?" Tommy asks.

"I hope so." Regina says. Eric plays the song again. When he's done, the restaurant workers begin. When they're done, they get a thumbs up.

"Nice job guys." Richie says.

"Thanks." Tommy says. "But should we wait for you guys?"

"If you want." Vlad says. "We'll get it right next time, right?"

"Of course." Richie says. Jon & Devon then step up.

***

"Let's do this." Claudia says. Her and Hans step up for their turn at the dance. Jasmine puts on beach music and the bakers starts to hula.

"Well this is slow." Hans says.

"It's not meant to be fast, brainiac."

"Oh and yet you try to speed up our performance in the race."

"If we pass this now, we'll get second place for sure."

"Make it third place!" Jon yells as him and Devon run past the dancers. Claudia's eye starts to twitch and is close to going insane.

"Claudia! Don't you dare!" Hans says.

"I'm fine." She says with a smile.

"You guys may go." Jasmine says.

"Great." Claudia says all calm. "Now Hans... RUN!!!!" The sudden change in volume scares Hans and he starts running.

"Wish me luck." Brent says.

"I will." Mabel says, blushing and smiling again. The humans then go up for their turn. Jasmine puts back on the music as they start the hula dance.

"What is it with you and Mabel lately?" Syd asks while they're dancing.

"I don't know what you mean." Brent says, getting nervous.

"I mean you two have been blushing and smiling. That's not the you I know."

"What do you mean?" Brent tries to hide behind a guilty smile.

"You two may go." Jasmine says.

"Oh would you look at that, we get to move on." Brent pull Syd as he runs down the beach. Question averted, for now.

***

Ashley & Jo arrive and take their clue. "Wanna do drums sis?" Ashley asks.

"No we're behind. We should do dancing. It seems easier."

"Ok." The sisters run over the the dancing area as the graduates take their turn.

"Mabel, are you sure you're alright?" June asks.

"Of course. What would make you think otherwise?" Mabel asks.

"I know something's bugging you. Tell me what's wrong."

"I just can't. At least not now. I don't want to lose focus on the race."

"Me neither. But it hurts us if you're getting distracted."

"I'll tell you at the checkpoint. Ok?"

"Fine. If you say so."

***

"Helga & Gretel, you came in first place." Toner says.

"Sweet! That's what I'm talking about." Helga fist bumps Gretel and they walk off.

"Bakers, you came in second."

"So close!" Claudia says.

"At least we're still in the race." Hans says. "Let's go, now."

"Jon & Devon, third place." Toner says, still shocked they're ahead.

"Yay! We're still doing great babe." Jon says as he get on Devon's shoulders again and he carries him off.

"Humans. 4th place."

"Whew!" Brent says.

"Now will you tell me what's up?" Syd asks.

"Fine!" Brent gives up. "I..." He rubs his arm. "I like Mabel."

"Wait, for real?" Syd can't believe what he's hearing.

"Yes. I liked a lot."

"Dude. That's awesome. But she's a cat and you're human. It probably won't work out."

"You're probably right." Brent looks down. Syd puts an arm around him and walks him off.

June & Mabel- 5th place

Rob & Robbie- 6th place

Cody & Dave- 7th place

Angie & Jennifer- 8th place

Seven & Stuart- 9th place

"C'mon guys!" Tommy says.

"We're trying!" Vlad says. "This is really hard."

"Let's go Vlad!" Richie says. Richie & Vlad step back up to drum again. At the same time, Ashley & Jo start to hula. Tommy & Regina get nervous. Should they have went on?

Both teams doing the detour do things at the same time. When they're almost done with the song, Jasmine turns off the beach music. Richie & Vlad finish again and look at Eric.

"You may go." Jasmine and Eric say at the same time to their respective teams. The songwriters and workers take off at the same time the sisters do. However, the two team alliance catch up fast and leave Ashley & Jo behind.

"Tommy & Regina, 10th place." Toner says. It was all down to the songwriters and the sisters. Both teams are only 10 ft away from the checkpoint.

5ft.

2ft.

"Richie & Vlad, 11th place." Toner confirms.

"Woohoo!!" The dog writers exclaim. The restaurant workers run up to then and they start to victory dance.

"Oh no. Does that mean-?" Ashley asks.

"Yep." Toner confirms. "Ashley & Jo, 12 place. You two are out of the race."

"Awwww man." Ashley pins her ears down and her tail goes limp. Jo hugs her sister tight.

"Thanks for this, Ashley." Jo says with a smile.

"You're welcome kiddo. Let's go home." Ashley picks up her sister and they walk off. "If you ask me, this was fun."

"I know." Jo says. "And I've learned that I can manage Ghost Pepper heat."

"Jo, promise me you'll never try to break a world record involving heat."

"No promises." Jo laughs.

Toner's phone goes off. "Hello?" He answers. It was his boss Mr Milton. "Uh-huh... Ok... Oh you're right. I almost forgot about that. Thanks." He hangs up. The songwriters and restaurant workers were still dancing.

"Hey guys! Guess what?" Toner asks, ready for what's about to happen.

"What?" Richie asks, stopping.

"That was my boss Mr Milton. He reminded me to tell you guys something."

"What?" Tommy asks.

"That this leg... is a double elimination. The songwriters are going home too."

"What?!?" Vlad yells. All dancing ceases.

"Yep. You guys are leaving the race too." Toner says, smiling. "Now go home! You're allowed to stay."

"You've gotta be kidding me?" Richie asks.

"Nope. Now leave!" Toner yells behind him as he walks away. Richie & Vlad look at Tommy & Regina and they group hug.

"Good luck you guys." Richie says.

"Thanks." Tommy says. "We're gonna need it." They let go of each other and walk back the other direction.

"This blows." Vlad says. "We lost all because of that stubborn drum teacher."

"Well, now that I think of it, we did go a bit fast the first few tries." Richie says.

"Whatever. Let's just go home and write a song about this. I have a few ideas already."

"Cool."
