#125 of Exploration

After the incredibly awful time on the half wolven planet, and rescuing Ryan Lewis and his team, although that's mostly due to Draco and Takori, I wanted a bit of a rest. However, none of the others knew my request, and so I was informed on Friday evening that we would be visiting a new planet the following morning. It was Brendan of all dragons who came and told me.

Naturally the dragon was hyped as he arrived, and he smiled at me.

"Evening, Alduin, how's it going?" I smiled at the youthful dragon, and his flicking tail. He must be excited.

"Wotcha, Brendan, what's the good news?"

"Your party, me, Landon, Orion, Silverine and Winslo are going to a new planet tomorrow. Again, no one knows what's it like, so I presume you are pinging."

I shrugged."I will if no one else volunteers."

Brendan then spotted the dinner I was just setting.

"Can I sit in?" he asked, and I looked briefly at Gareth. Gareth smiled, and I nodded, and began setting the table for three, and then mentally made it four as Alex arrived.

The human was off with Thomas, Felicia and Propani just after us, to a planet the other side of the universe, if such a direction could apply in an infinite space. The human heard dinner was being served, and forced Brendan to help as the three of us set the table.

I had made frittata, a mixture of vegetables and ham, all baked in an oven with egg and cheese, and I made a full tray, on account of the fact my Centralite friends were always keen to try some of my cooking. I doled out half the tray to the four of us, while Gareth poured sparkling grapetise into the glasses, and I sat down.

Alex and Brendan are great conversationalists, and the four made an interesting line. There was me, my sharp and direct wit, Gareth's constant bubbly manner, and the brothers' carefree relaxed style, it all lead for laughs a plenty. Gareth was speaking in English, which led to a gem of amusement.

"One of Ryan Lewis' friends said he was going to become a vegetable." I tried not to snigger, while Alex and Brendan tried to mentally run this through their trains of thought.

"What type of vegetable?" Alex asked.

"Eh?" Gareth looked confused, and then realised what he'd said. Brendan spoke next.

"A carrot, kumara, or a strange metamorphic one I don't know?"

"All right, yes, very clever, I made a mistake." the fox tried to break up a line of teasing.

I swallowed, and rubbed my chin reflectively.

"I thought it would be much easier with an axe at the right point. Saves a lot of time, rather than evolving."

Gareth shoved me, laughing."Alduin, that was tasteless!"

"What? He wanted to be a vegetable, didn't he?" there was a buffeting wave of laughter from all four of us.

"Who wanted to be a vegetable?" Ryan Lewis arrived with a bang, and looked curiously at the table of people.

"According to Gareth, one of your friends wants to be a vegetable, I was wondering what type." Brendan replied, turning to look at the arrival.

Ryan gave a short laugh." No, vegetarian, close but no cigar. But that is funny, now I come to think of it."

"Does he work with you?" I asked.

"No, but he does work."

"I wonder if he's earning celery." I suggested.

Gareth shoved me again, while everyone laughed.

"That's a tad corny." Brendan said, and everyone but Gareth laughed, and he was busy trying to wrestle me off my seat.

"Just don't make him embarrassed, then he will truly be red as a tomato." Alex commented, with another gale of laughter, and I fell off my seat with a fox who was trying not to laugh out loud.

"A sort of radish shade, if anything." Ryan suggested, straight faced. Alex and Brendan chuckled.

"If everyone could peas stop making silly jokes." I replied, and Gareth launched an new offensive, rolling sideways and bouncing the pair of us into the breakfast bar. Alex and Brendan had dropped their cutlery, and Alex had his hand holding himself, and Brendan has was holding his forehead, giggling through his jaws.Ryan Lewis had put his gear down, and was watching all of us with a look of bemusement.Gareth tried to pin me and get my clothes off, his intent to fuck me for making fun of him.

He was never going to win this one. With a roll that caught him by surprise, I got him against the breakfast bar, one hand holding his paw pressed against the wood.

"I'm trying to think of a joke involving capsicum,it might take a while."

Gareth sighed." You make one silly mistake around here, and everyone goes for the throat."

I smiled."High spirits, Gareth, and speaking of which, I'm feeling in that kind of mood."

The fox tried to struggle, foreseeing an orgy, and I raised my voice.

"Well, what does everyone think of having some sex?"

Brendan cannoned from his seat, standing next to the table, interested in any option. Alex nodded, and got up. As Brendan turned to look at Ryan Lewis, I nodded at Alex, and pointed at Brendan. Brendan turned to see what I was going to do, and I saw Alex nod at Ryan Lewis, and point at Brendan. Humans on dragon, this could be interesting.

"So who's fucking who?" Brendan asked.

I rose like a bad curry, and both Ryan and Alex charged. Brendan looked surprised at me, and backed away, straight into Ryan's tackle. He went low, trying to bring his legs out from underneath him, and as he swayed, I went for his upper chest, wrapping both arms around his golden chest, holding onto the dragon's scales. Alex was not as fast as the two of us, but quickly helped pin the dragon. Gareth got up, and realised he was off the sex list. Ryan Lewis was underneath the dragon's legs, I was on the dragon's chest, and Alex placed his knees on the dragon's shoulder and upper arm.

"I think some dragon ass would be a nice change." Ryan chuckled, removing his clothes while holding both of Brendan's leg with the other hand. I sat on Brendan's chest while removing my own, and Alex removed his shirt and after I had got stripped, got me to take his position while he removed his trousers. Brendan struggled, but Gareth came over and sat astride Brendan's stomach, making it four of us holding him down once we had all gotten stripped. Now we had to strip the dragon.

While Alex held his arms down, I unbuttoned his shirt, while Gareth and Ryan systematically removed the dragon's trousers and underwear. The scaled reptilian knew he was helpless, but struggled never the less, and when he was naked, we began to pick positions. Ryan shifted the dragon's tail to one side, and fucked his ass from behind. Alex asked his brother to suck him off, the brothers were like that, and Brendan obligingly gave head, his long forked tongue curling around his twin's cock. Gareth and me had a brief argument which I won, and he ended up being fucked in the ass by Brendan. I made it two in the dragon's ass, and thrust in tandem with Ryan.

Brendan got a bit of his own back, tail fucking Ryan, curling back and under him, and I stroked Gareth's cock as my foxy lover made out with me.

It went well. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.Suffice it to say that we slept deeply after that, and Brendan and Alex spent the night at our house. I woke first, at four thirty of all hours, my pineal system hates me, and got prepared. Checked my forms, F-22 and Tripod. Checked my weapons, C.E.O. blaster, solinium nuclear warhead, .303 rifle and sword.A days worth of food, and a one point five litre bottle of water. Tennis ball and fire lighter, Swiss army knife, binoculars, Centralite glasses, and small book of notes.

I was wearing my usual trousers and combat boots, and my shirt was black as well. I sidled past the slumbering dragon and his twin brother human, and went outside to teleport so I wouldn't wake them.

Quarter to five, I arrived in the Great Hall. A solitary glower was hovering slowly, pulsing slowly, next to the piano. I put down my gear, and whispered.

"Morning, glower."

No response. The pulse was very slow and steady, it was asleep, of all things.

Tip toeing out, I shut the door carefully. I took out my sword, and placed it in my lap as I sat down, eyes closed in meditation. I could hear the minute creaking of pipes, and then the sounds of foot steps, distant but getting closer. Someone else was awake, and was heading this way. The footsteps got closer, and I opened my eyes, although the mirrored lenses of the Centralite glasses wouldn't reveal this.

No one was about, yet the footsteps were there, and getting practically on top of me.

"Morning, Winslo." I said to the corridor. The footsteps stopped. There was absolute silence.

"I am awake, Winslo, and I know you're there somewhere. Do I have to use my thermo?" there was silence, but I felt a furry hand rest against my shoulder as Winslo sat down next to me. I couldn't see the bunny, but seeing as the only other magicians who could cast invisibility were either scaled or human, it had to be him.

I felt along Winslo's arm. "I wonder who this could be...hmmmm." I smiled, and as I went down along his chest I heard him giggle.

"It has a long robe on, it's got fur," I felt a change of texture as I got to the trousers, and then a rise that trembled as I touched it,"It's definitely male.I think it's a bunny."

"You rest lightly, Alduin." Winslo said, his words appeared from right next to my ear.

"I wasn't asleep at all, just thinking." I went back up, and then wormed quickly between the material, feeling the bunny's cock. I noticed my hand had vanished, and after I heard a brief chant, saw that I had vanished too.

"Invisible is as invisible does." I said straight faced, and took hold of the bunny's cock. I felt him squirm, and giggle again.

"Alduin,no, I just put these trousers on, you know." His hand took my arm, trying to coax me away, reluctantly.I replied by removing both hands, and then grabbing at him. I got him around the waist, and I saw his staff clatter away, visible now Winslo wasn't holding it. He gave a yelp of surprise, and grabbed at me. I got both arms around him, and got him down on the ground, facing me. I bent down, and felt my mouth against his nose.

"It is really hard, making out with someone you can't see." I commented drily, and Winslo gave a little laugh.

"And yet you manage it somehow anyway." he relaxed and placed both hands around my back. We kissed tenderly, and then with more firmness. Winslo was all too happy to make out, and we kissed and held one another for several minutes. Then we were interrupted.

"What, why has that bunny left his staff about?" The voice of a sleepy Lupogriff echoed down the corridor.

"Let's get him down." I whispered, and Winslo agreed. We got up, and while Silverine strode forwards, skirted around him. I ignited my thermo, and saw the blur that was Winslo as he went one way. I went the other, and as Silverine bent down to pick up the staff, saw the bunny tackle the Lupogriff. Silverine staggered, and I grabbed him from behind and pulled him down to the ground. He was most surprised.

"What the.... let go of me!" he shouted, as I wrapped both legs around his shoulders, keeping him pinned. Winslo sat on the Lupogriff's lower chest, and the bunny spoke.

"That's MY staff, Silverine." he said with a chuckle.

"Morning to you too, Winslo. You shouldn't leave it lying about." Silverine said wearily," Now who else is on me?"

"That would be the deranged human." Winslo chuckled, and I sighed.

"You put the invisibility spell on me, Winslo, that makes you pretty deranged."

"You made that human invisible?" Silverine sighed also," Knowing his wicked sense of humour, you made him unable to be seen by naked eye?"

Winslo laughed." It's not a permanent spell." he said, as his wore off, showing the bunny in his usual long robe, sensible clothes underneath, and neatly groomed fur. He picked up his staff, and held it cross ways, grinning at Silverine.

"This is why I don't like magic." the Lupogriff replied. Winslo dispelled my own invisibility spell, and I unwove my legs from Silverine's arms.

There was one more surprise for everyone before I actually managed to ping the planet, and that was Ryan Godsey's fault. As those of us who were about to ping, i.e., me, were getting ready, the tiger walked in, looking rather nervous.

"Silverine." he began.

"Yes?" the Lupogriff turned to him.

Ryan Godsey passed over a piece of paper. Silverine flicked down his optical translator, and started reading.

Then he looked up." You are choosing them, then?"

I whipped the paper out of the Lupogriff's hand.

"Viper. Return immediately to US, rendezvous point alpha alpha 3.Reason, report for tour of duty."

"What tour is he going on?" I asked.

"Iraq." the tiger replied, and I whirled, suddenly angry.

"Alduin..." he began.

"You.." I hissed, the words being spat out as if distasteful, I was so furious," are going to that god forsaken country..."

I threw the piece of paper in the air, changed into my Tripod form, and vaporised it before it hit the ground. Then I teleported. Iraq, of all places in the world.

I don't support Osama, I don't support any government who deals in mass slaughter and genocide, but by gods I do not support the U.S. army and their 'peace keeping' activities in that infernal argument they call a country.

I landed hard on the turf, changed back into my bionic form, and looked around.

I was in a clearing, and surrounding me was dense bush and trees. They were lighter colours compared to the trees at home, although that might not mean much, and I saw down one end of the small clearing a large dip between several trees, like a mortar hole.

"Alduin," Silverine began.

"Do not put me off. I refuse to discuss anything I just heard, and that's an end of it. Gravity is 1 and one tenth earth standard, atmosphere is slightly different, but not much different. I'll place a scanner near the crater." I walked over there, and put down a scanner deep into the earth. After nearly a minute, Silverine and company landed next to me.

"Alduin, why did you do that?" Silverine asked, sternly.

"Do you know why the U.S. went into Iraq?"

"To overthrow the guy in charge."

"That was the most moral reason. There were several others, and most of them were not good reasons at all.Think on that before you bawl me out, because I will not condone all their activities there."

"Viper is under orders, Alduin."

"Viper is a free thinking individual, like me or you.He can do what he will, but if he chooses to do that, then I will not hinder him."

"Don't you think you're over reacting?"

"Silverine," I said quietly, and everyone turned. Silence fell on the clearing.

The Lupogriff said no more, Winslo and Simba were doing computer stuff, the other five were wandering to one side of the clearing, determined to have a look around and, most importantly, not get in the way of a potential argument. I turned , just as there was a tremendous burst of gunfire.

"Cover!" Silverine shouted. The Lupogriff grabbed Winslo and dived into the depression. Simba grabbed the scanner, and followed, and I dived in, landing next to the surprised bunny.

The other five ran into the foliage on their side, and we interlinked with them. Draco was running double, phaser out, everyone had their weapons out. There seemed to be gunfire from both sides, as if two parties had run into one another. The four of us kept low, although Silverine stuck his head up a bit out of the depression to see what was going on. The gunfire persisted, and Silverine ducked back down. He shook his head.

"I can't see anyone, they're all behind cover."

Then Draco ran through some bushes, and then found one of the parties.

There were four of them. Two of them were on the ground, with bullet wounds, the remaining two were firing at another part of the bush on the far side of the clearing, and alternating between taking cover and providing harassing fire.

What they were, was lynxes. Sleek and feline, tanned fur, their tails twitching in fright. They were about six foot in height, and seemed very muscular and strong, and yet lithe. The two on the ground had been shot in the shoulder and lower side respectively, and Landon and Brendan came forwards, grabbing their hellbrews from pockets.

Meanwhile the four of us in the depression shifted into lynx forms, disguising our weapons and tech, making us look like we were unarmed day trippers who had happened to stumble into the midst of a firefight. Silverine was slightly taller, maybe six foot six, but all of us were much the same.

Landon took hold of the one holding his shoulder in pain, and began pouring half of the hellbrew on the wound, just as Brendan did the same to the chest wound on the other. Both lynxes yowled in pain, and the two surveying where the enemy were hiding ducked back down and looked to the incredible scene. They shrunk back against their cover, scared of the two dragons, two foxes and the wolf. Javid drew his rifle, and fired a round over the clearing, and Draco got down beside them as Landon and Brendan got the wounded to swallow half of the potion. Orion fired his blaster for good measure, and drew his crossbow.

Draco spoke urgently."What the hell is going on?"

"We are scouts, and we were attacked by an enemy patrol. Their prisoner camp is not far from here, we were required to have a look around." I noticed that one of the lynxes had one blue eye, and one dark red one.

Another blasted war.The lynx looked uncertain at the five Centralites.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Draco, our story is too long to explain. Do you know somewhere safe?"

"We have a small refuge a kilometre from here."

"Right, Brendan, you carry one of the wounded, I'll take the other. You, what's your name?"

"Noah, sir.This is Bruno."

"Right, you two show us the way. Javid, could you provide some cover fire while we get these lynxes somewhere safe?"

Javid reloaded his rifle as an answer, and Landon got down beside Noah, holding both dual pistols up. Orion got down on the other side of the two confused lynxes, arrow on his bow.

Draco and Brendan picked up the two on the ground, who were still weak, and ran into the forest. Noah and Bruno dashed off after them. Javid fired, his sniper rifle deafening through the intercom. Orion stood up, and aimed at a patch of bush, waiting. After a movement, he pinged the bow, and there was a howl of pain as the albino fox found a target. He dropped down, slotting another arrow, and Landon stood up, emptying both clips into the same bushes. Javid fired again as he got down to reload, and then he hissed.

"You two go, I'll fire for another minute."

Both foxes turned and dashed through the forest. Javid fired steadily and regularly for a minute, and then he turned and ran. The forest was still once again, broken by fire from the bushes who weren't aware they were no longer engaging the enemy.

"That was intense." Winslo whispered.

"Tell me." Simba whispered back.

Silverine motioned all of us to be completely silent. Our position was out of the fire zone, but someone could walk over here and be trigger happy. I was in bionic form underneath the disguise, but Winslo and Silverine were not bullet proof. We stayed motionless, hearing the sound of several lynxes shuffling about. There seemed to be quite a few, by the sounds of things.

Draco reported that all of them were safe in the hide, and that he was about to ask questions of Noah's band. We didn't acknowledge, but he knew that we wouldn't.

The lynxes got louder, they were spreading out looking for Noah's company, and it was our bad luck that one happened to stumbled across us in our depression. He had an assault rifle in his hand, and he looked surprised.

"Hands up!" he shouted, levelling the rifle at Simba.

We complied.

"What the hell just happened there?" Silverine asked of the soldier," Here we are, in the forest when suddenly people start firing at us. Why?"

"Shut up! Sir, there's a couple here!"

"He has a point, mate."I said, looking the lynx in the eye,"What are you doing, and why are you being so vicious to us?"

"I said..."

"I won't, not until the four of us get an answer."

"You four are to be taken in for questioning. Why are you here?"

"We are four, unarmed, friends who came here looking for some peace and quiet." Silverine snarled. The guard backed a step.

The reinforcements arrived, at least seven of them, and we were herded out of the depression and back towards where they had come from. Two were on the ground, three staggering from small wounds, and one was holding his shoulder with Orion's arrow sticking into it.

"Some tribal war?" I asked, putting my hands down and surveying the scene. One approached me, rifle aimed.

"Put your hands up and keep them there! You are to obey...."

"Could I just say something at this point?" I asked politely, hands in my pockets.

I brought my heel hard onto the lynx's foot.I was wearing my huge boots as normal. They wore no shoes, and the shriek could be heard from a mile away. The lynx dropped his assault rifle, and went down onto the ground, nursing his paw and rocking back and forth. Everyone looked at me, and I looked innocent as I could.

"What?" I looked bemused, as if it hadn't been my fault. Silverine rolled his eyes. The man with the arrow piercing him was gently trying to pull it out, but didn't see to have the courage to pull hard enough.

"An arrow?Who uses arrows nowadays?" one of the lynxes looked at feathered shaft.Simba broke rank, and while everyone trained their guns on him, crouched down next to the lynx.

"It hurts, doesn't it? Do you want me to get it out?"

The lynx nodded weakly, leaning back against the stump of the tree. Simba motioned to one of the nearer guards.

"Take the strap off your rifle."

The guard looked suspicious."Why?"

"Because I don't want him to bite his tongue off when I pull this out. now, hurry up."

While there were three guards and the lieutenant guarding us, there were three around Simba, and six clearing up the debris from the battle and helping the wounded back to the prisoner camp. The guard unclipped the strap, and placed it in his comrade's mouth, holding it secure. Another, under Simba's instruction, sat on his legs and held his arm, so he couldn't hurt anyone else.

Simba placed one paw against the bleeding shoulder, and delicately took hold of the arrow. The lynx whimpered in pain through the leather, and Simba began to firmly pull the arrow out, worming it back and forth to stop the barbs catching on everything. The lynx howled several times, but it was muffled through the leather. He jerked, and with one gentle twist, the arrow came out. Simba held the arrow like it was some rare metal, as the officer took it from him, and then got up, allowing the remaining guards to bandage up the shoulder wound.

The officer looked at Simba.

"Who are you, and how did you know about that?"

"I am a doctor of ailments,Simba is my name. I was walking through these woods with my friends, when we took cover in the depression from the gunfire.I have read enough ancient history to understand how an arrow goes in, and thus how to take it out."

"I am Shaw, you will call me lieutenant Shaw, Simba. The lynx you helped is Zambi. We are ordered to arrest all those in this vicinity."

"Very well, we are under arrest. I assure you, we have no weapons or anything except what we wear, we were unaware of the dangers in this forest."

"That remains to be seen." the officer replied, and spoke to his men," We are going back to the camp. Two of you, run ahead and alert the camp doctors." he turned to Simba," I would not try anything stupid, Simba.Follow me." the remaining guards stood at either side and behind, rifles shouldered. Simba walked with the officer, neither of them speaking much. The one I had stomped on jabbed his rifle as I got into position.

"Do that again, I will kill you, rules or no." he hissed. I turned and met his eyes, scowling.

"You do not know what you threaten, Corporal. I have faced things much worse than you, and will continue to do so.Now back off before I do something stupid."

The guard kept the staring contest, the two of us locked in position. I was slightly taller, and while I didn't have the wonderful scowl Silverine had, I noticed his lynx form still had the scar left by the glower, my features contorted in a way that suggested I was very angry, and the lynx could feel it. He turned and spat at the ground.

"Just walk, you."

I turned and walked, next to the Lupogriff. Silverine smiled, and spoke in Centralite.

"You might not be a fighter, but you can drive anyone up the wall and across the ceiling if you tried."

"You obviously haven't seen me at work, Silverine. Is it intentional that your glower scar is still showing, even as a lynx?"

"No.Our devices are bamboozled by anything a glower is or does. The scar still has the after traces of a glower burst, thus the disguise device leaves it black."

"Owch." I sympathised silently for the Lupogriff, and then spoke again," I wonder how the others are doing?"

"We'll check just as soon as we've got some privacy." Silverine replied,"Although they could probably guess by the shrieks."

"He was pushing me around, I just pushed back." I shrugged, and Silverine chuckled.

"Yeah, pushed hard on his toes. And you're wearing combat boots."

"I didn't say which way I pushed."I replied, laughing quietly, and then one of the lynxes prodded Silverine with his rifle.

"Stop the chat." they didn't know the language, but didn't want us talking on principle. Silverine grabbed the barrel, and there was a cracking noise.

The three guards at the back, myself and the Lupogriff all heard the tearing sound of metal in agony. The guard pulled at his rifle, looking scared as Silverine slowly crushed and bent the barrel upwards, in one hand. The guard pulled backwards, looking at his new rifle modification. Silverine walked on, and I tried hard not to giggle, looking at the odd shape. The front fifteen centimetres of gun had been wrenched one hundred degrees up, so it now pointed backwards.

Unfortunately, my giggling fit was not to be contained, and I broke down next to Silverine, who was trying not to laugh himself. The guards took several steps away from us.

"I guess it's the new thing, a rifle that fired around corners." I suggested.

"Now I couldn't do that with my rifle." he replied, still in Centralite," it's the shoddy, cheap metal they use now, bends easily.

"Silverine, your rifle is made out of titanium grade alloy, you could run a roller over it and it wouldn't be deformed."

"So?Their stuff is still cheap, and useless."

We walked along the guard with his useless rifle had drawn his pistol, but was keeping his distance lest the same thing happen to his secondary weapon. Winslo was standing in front of us, chanting some flowing script to himself. Simba and Shaw were still busy not talking to one another as they walked. I could see they wanted to ask one another things, but not in front of anyone else.

It took about quarter of an hour, but then we arrived. We arrived at the one place Noah was trying to scout before he had run into the patrol, the one thing that, we weren't to know it at the time, was rumoured to be impossible to get out of. The entire area was built on soft sand, with microphones buried in many places to prevent tunnelling. There were towers at every corner, with heavy machine guns on top, and barbed wire fences skirting the perimeter. The gate had two towers either side, and was made out of solid reinforced steel.

We had arrived at Oflagkriezer 4C.
