"Shh shh shh, hush little one. I'm here." Cooed the female reptile as lightning flashed again and once more they heard a crack of thunder. "We'll be OK little one, it's only a storm." Her soft words soon calmed the scared child, and as he looked up into his mother's eyes, she felt a surge of happiness. "That's it. That's my brave little boy." She smiled and kissed him on his head. The happiness was short lived however as a scream was ripped from someone in the distance. The female shot up and stared at her door as another scream was heard, and another coming from all around her. Then a scream came from the home just next to her and she could hear shouting in a different language and a crash as if things were being thrown about. Next it came to her door, and it happened too quickly to understand. One second she was standing there, the next the door had been kicked in and in poured four dark skinned figures. The Dunmer. She grabbed a colored stone off of her table, if which was the only thing she had in the form if a weapon. The four men laughed at this, letting her see their own armaments (swords, axes and bows). "Drop the stone and come along now, we'd rather not have to damage the goods." One of the dark men said...perhaps the leader. "Awe, but where's the fun in that?" Another shot back. "What's fun is getting paid full price for them. We can't do that if they're all broken...now again, drop the stone." She didn't however. Her mother instincts kicking in, she stepped in between them and her child. "Get out!" She yelled and the leader's smile drained away and a sneer took its place. "Have it your way...Get her!" And in an amazing display of unfair odds the four men lept at her. She tried to hit one but the stone was wrangled from her hands and her face smashed with the flat of a blade. She fell limp and they took her and the child, as well as a great number from their village, off into the stormy night. A successful raid on a small village, no one left but the dead. All the while, the storm raged on.
