Paradox - Prologue

- * One thing about my story that you will need to know before you can better understand the point of it. In here, there are a few creatures who can control the power of the elements. There are a total of ten elements. They are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Electricity, Metal, Light and Darkness. Now that's only eight, because there is a combination required to create the last two. The ninth element is Life, that which gives at will, but that which also takes at will. In order to create Life, one must combine all eight basic elements. The tenth element, the rival of Life though it doesn't need them all to create, is Chaos. To create Chaos requires extreme strength of will, strength of body, and strength of mind. The user of Chaos must also be able to control the components of it, Light and Darkness. Chaos brings destruction, pain, misery, and death. The aftermath of Chaos is simple. Nothing. I explained these elements because there are four beings in the universe that can control them, making them the four most powerful beings in the universe. This is a list of their names, a description of them, and what they control. Elementius: Height - 5'11" (in human form). Weight - 180 lbs (in human form). The most powerful being in the universe. He controls nine out of ten of the elements. He took an oath to never use chaos, the power would have corrupted him. Elementius spends his days recording the history of everything. He creates lifelike projections of planets and everything that happened on them. In order to gather the information, he sends out his Oracles, creatures of pure matter with a will of their own. Their memory is never-ending, and they cannot forget a thing unless Elementius erases it from their mind, should the planet they were given to examine dies. He enjoys being in the form of a human, however, his original form is a massive creature, able to be seen from the surface of a planet. His form needs to be that large in order to hold the essence of the elements he controls. Only these four know what Elementius' form looks like, though theres a rumor that he uses the element Metal to make most of the body. The following three have massive space armadas to travel from planet to planet, using its resources for their ships or equipment, farming it for foods, or enslaving it for wealth. Although these three have extremely advanced technology, when in war on a planet, they and their soldiers stick with melee combat. They do this because, putting it simply, it is more fun. They are immortal, only the four can kill each other. Because of this, instantly conquering a planet with technology is no fun at all. However, weapons of close combat and strategies on limitless terrain, bloodshed all around and survival techniques required to live, is quite the opposite. Elementius spends his time recording history, they spend their time conquering the limitless Universe. Lockwood: Height - 7'2". Weight - 308 lbs. The second most powerful being in the universe. He, unlike the other two, control three elements. He controls Light, Darkness, and Chaos. His preferred element is Darkness, though he doesn't ignore his power over Light. He is a Black Draconian, though his head is slightly longer then an average draconian, and he also has a chin that ends at a point. His crest has a few horns on it, either as sharp as his weapons or broken from a fight. He controls a massive Armada of fellow Reptilian Furries. His weapons of choice are two scythes that have serrated edges on the inside of the blade, deepening as it nears the staff of the weapon, while spikes in the fashion of serrations but opposite, are on the outer edge of the blade, as well as a fan of sharp spikes at the tip of the staff, going the opposite way of the blade. However, he wanted to make it more deadly, so he added the exact same style of blade on bottom of his scythes, but the blades are facing the opposite direction of the ones on the top of the scythe. Though he claims he can control it, there have been occurrences where he has lost control of the Chaos when he summoned it. The element took control of his body, and in turn using it to slaughter everything around him, even his own men. When the element was finished with him, it diverged back into Light and Darkness, but then combined each other again in a harsh manner. When Light and Darkness are combined in a harsh, hasty fashion, it does create Chaos, but not in the way the user would want. When done that way, the very core essence of Chaos releases, creating a sphere of chaos, destroying everything in it's wake. The size of the sphere can range from 50 miles, to the size of the star Sun, depending on the energy released. Because of his immortality, Lockwood survived every takeover. Taeo: Height - 6'. Weight - 150 lbs. The third most powerful being of the universe, however, he is tied with the other being for their powers are nearly equal. He is a Snow Wolf, controlling the elements of Water and Air, preferring to combine them and use Ice. His armada consists of Furries categorized under 'Fur', as Furries can range from scale, to hide, to hair, to fur. For instance, his armada consists of Wolves, Foxes, Lions, Felines, etc. He is extremely fast, using Wind to his advantage. He prefers to use two Rapiers, created from his own Ice, that can pierce nearly anything. Twice, as Elementius has it recorded, Taeo found his ‘Armor'. The term ‘Armor' is used for only him and the other being. It is used for the elements they use are special in a way that it can enhance the user of it, as well as increasing it's own power. The users, only Taeo and the other so far can summon and survive the ordeal, are encased in a physical shell of that element, and so Elementius called it their ‘Armor'. Taeo's ‘Armor' is immensely condensed ice in the form of plate over his body. The knees of his armor, when bent, protrude deadly ice shards, as well as the toe and heel of his boots. On all of the knuckles of his gloves are spikes when he makes a fist. His speed, when using his ‘Armor' is increased to that of a blur, as well as giving him the ability to create clones. These clones, however, are exact copies of himself that are as strong as he is without his ‘Armor'. They carry no weapons, but are still deadly. He uses his power over ice wisely when it comes to clones, he can expand a shard of ice as big as your nail to the size of a boulder, creating hundreds of clones from that alone. Xerati: Height - 6'3". Weight - 228 lbs. The third most powerful being of the universe. Tied with Taeo. Xerati is a Water snake, her armada consists of both Reptiles and Sea life, for example, Whales, Dolphins, Sharks, as well as Alligators and other Snakes. Her elements are Fire and Earth, which can make a nasty surprise from below for her enemies. Some think it odd that the wielder of Fire and Earth has units from the sea at her disposal. It is, however, quite useful when no one else keeps units that can survive underwater, giving her a good foothold on almost any planet. Her weapons of preference are a large, wide bladed sword that would be classified as a two handed weapon, but the strength of earth allows her to use only one hand, usually using her left. As well as a massive double headed Axe, causing her to carry it over her shoulders with her right hand. Although the axe is heavy, she can swing it with grace and accuracy, but its weight can sometimes be the cause should she lose a battle. Both of her weapons are engraved with runes of Fire and Earth, though they remain inactive unless she has her ‘Armor' active. Xerati's ‘Armor' is a shell of molten rock, giving off heat yards away. Her maw, unlike the rest of her body which would be covered in heavy duty plate in the form of molten rock, is wrapped shut by molten tendrils. It is this way because when she has her ‘Armor' active, her insides turn into the essence of fire, and her ‘Armor' acts like a shell to keep it in. Only once has she had to rely on that essence to win a fight against Taeo when both of them had their ‘Armor' active. By ripping off all of the tendrils around her maw, facing the sky and opening it, she releases the core power of Fire. Elementius has named it, when she does so, Supernova. When releasing the energy, a small pillar the size of her body emits from her maw, as well as the planets surface, like a pillar. The pillar beings to enlarge, getting wider and wider, engulfing Xerati and anything in its wake. It does so for a very long distance, nearly covering the whole side of a planet. When it has reached its limit, all the energy released in the column caves in on itself, returning all the energy of it back into Xerati in the blink of an eye, and then released in an explosion as powerful as a dying sun. Hopefully, with this brief explanation of the universe and the beings of power within it, you can better understand the story that follows. I named the story Paradox because Lockwood, Xerati and Taeo are trying to conquer the universe, but that feat is impossible to do, for the universe is limitless.
- * "Lord?" shouted the Oracle, wandering around the Temple of Elements, searching for his master to relay the information he was tasked with. "Lord!?" Walking around the corner, the Oracle spotted a Human leaning on a doorway reading from a book. "You there, Meat Bag! Where is the lord, I have important information for him, and don't waste my time!" demanded the Oracle. At that, the human lazily looked up at him and said "You're speaking to your lord Dejan, how many times must I tell you about equality in my temple? Must I also remind you that I enjoy being in human form?" "Elementius!?!?" sputtered out Dejan. Mouth agape, he threw himself on the floor and began begging for forgiveness. After a few minutes of squabbling and coming up with excuses, he slowly looked up to find Elementius not in front of him anymore. He staggered to his feet and looked around, puzzled as to where his master went. "Are you coming Dejan?" said a familiar voice, echoing in his ears. "You know how I despise your excuses, now come to the Galaxy Room, I'm sure you at least know where that is." Nearly tripping over himself, Dejan dashed to the Galaxy Room. "Now then", asked Elementius, "I Expect a full detailed report from you Dejan, you've been down there for sometime now, and i'm guessing that the conflict is over now that you've returned. I put you on the job because you always give me the best reports down to everything that happened.... Sadly you don't leave out the unimportant deeds of those lesser to you..." "Well, my lord," started Dejan as he watched Elementius walk towards the Galaxy Pool, which held an unknown liquid that, when tempered by Elementius, became the shape and form of a planet. The shape was detailed down to everything on the planet, from past events to current time. After creating a sphere from the pool, Elementius looked at Dejan expectantly. "Oh, my apologies milord, it was 24,54,08 to 26,78,23." He then nodded to his Oracle and began shaping the planet to the time that was given. "Alright Dejan, begin your report" said Elementius, watching closely to his planetary model. "Yes milord. Planet Bellua. Date --" "Yes, yes, I know the planet and the date. This is a long report Dejan and you know how I feel about repeated details in a long report, especially when I've not the time for it right now" interrupted Elementius. "My apologies milord. Let's see.. Ahh, It seemed that while I was observing, the planet has been split into three separate groups. Lockwood, Taeo, and Xerati have all decided to conquer the planet, it was just luck that they all decided at the same time. Lockwood has sent down a large amount of his Reptilians, ranging from the Dragons, Lizards, Snakes, and other Reptiles. As well as taking control of half the Forest regions of the planet, most mountain regions, some water regions, mainly for resources. Oh, and all of the Deserts, seeing as his kind are the only ones who can survive there with low resources. Taeo has sent down a large portion of his troops on the planet as well. Mostly Wolves, Foxes, Bears, Felines, and some of the Avians, however there aren't many of them, Avians are rare this millennia. He holds the other half of the forest region, a small section of the mountain region that he is constantly fighting to protect for the minerals. A small water region, for resources as well, and has abandoned trying to take over any desert regions, as it would be a waste of men and resources. Xerati, landing on the planet after Lockwood, took advantage of the planet and sent down all the sea-life creatures that she could, so that she got a foundation and fast. She controls the Sharks, Whales, Dolphins, a few Alligators that would rather side with her, and whatever else she is able to scrounge up, seeing as the ocean isn't the best for warfare." "Don't be so quick to judge, she has come out the victor in such fights sometimes you know," interrupted Elementius. "I know milord, but the odds are greatly against her here. As I was saying, she controls nearly all of the water regions, and also has a few swamps inside the forests. Though she doesn't have much ground to do so, she has the best resources and equipment. Near infinite mineral veins in the water, more then plenty of food and shelter, seeing as not many venture into the water. Her soldiers have very good armor and weapons, but its evened out with her small numbers. She should thank you sometime, seeing as you helped them evolve to dwell on the land as well as the water before she got there." "Heh, I won't mention it to her, she has lost the last few battles for planets, I figured I would help her out a little." "Right you are, now then, Lockwood was beginning to devise an attack plan to gain the quarry, I believe he..."
