Hello again! I'm still trying to catch up to where we all should be in Dragon Storm. After this chapter I will need to post two more to catch up. Things aren't looking so good for Rio, but lets hope for the best. In case anyone was wondering I have based Rio off of myself in real life, but most you might have already guessed that. It's true I'm afraid.... Ever since my parents got divorced I have always tried to fill the void by making them feel proud of have the son they have. Anyway please feel free to leave a comment and enjoy this chapter! ; )

Dragon Storm

Chapter 6: Lazz's Lament!

"Mwhaha!!" Takeshi Obata laughed evilly.

Lazz struggled to get up after that last attack and used what little energy he had left to push the rocks off of him. While doing so he happened to notice something. He noticed that the rocks were surprisingly light for it to be so many and so big. When he stood up Takeshi Obata stopped laughing and shrugged. Lazz noticed something else also. He also noticed that Takeshi Obata's scales were now a different color than before. Instead of it being brown it was now a black and orange combination.

Lazz pondered about everything that had taken place so far in his mind.

‘It seems that this Takeshi Obata is a fake. So who or what is he? Further more with all this damage I've taken shouldn't I be dead? Also what was that last attack he just performed? Was that really a lightning bolt? Hmmm.................' Lazz thought.

As Lazz finished thinking to himself he noticed that Takeshi Obata's scales returned to their normal color. Lazz decided that he should end the battle quickly before he was caught off guard by anything else. Lazz picked up his R.P.G.(Rocket -propelled grenade) launcher. He took aim and fired it at him again. It hissed through the air as it soared right toward Takeshi Obata. Lazz then quickly ran a whole 180-degree angle from where he fired the R.P.G.

"What's this?" Takeshi Obata said.

The explosive warhead was about 5 meters away, when suddenly Takeshi Obata quickly held his hand out and a stream of lightning emerged from his hand again just like before. Takeshi Obata destroyed the explosive warhead with his lightning and after it's huge explosion he laughed again.

"Mwhahahaaha!!! You thought you could fire that thing and hit a moving target-Huh?!" Takeshi Obata yelled, but was quickly interrupted and smashed by a falling stalactite.

Just then Lazz fired his grenade launcher at the crushed Takeshi Obata and when the grenade hit, it caused a massive explosion. There were strong gusts of wind and then smoke filled the cavern. Lazz took this time to reload his heavy weapons. When the smoke cleared Lazz's jaw dropped with disbelief. He saw Takeshi Obata holding up the stalactite with lightning using only one hand while the he used his other to block the grenade. Takeshi Obata smiled at Lazz.

"You thought that would work? Impressive, but not good enough. You fired the R.P.G. at me as a decoy, so you could run around me 180 degrees to fire your grenade launcher at the stalactite above me and timed the explosions of the R.P.G warhead's and the grenade's godly loud noise so I would not be able to tell when you moved and the stalactite falling from above." Takeshi Obata said.

‘Looks like he figured me out only halfway.... I still may have another chance to end this quickly. I need to hurry before he catches on to me.' Lazz thought.

(Elsewhere in the griffin stronghold)

Rio was lying dead still on the floor bleeding like no tomorrow. Rio woke up in slight pain because he was being licked in the face. It was the female Hokkaido wolf. It licked Rio's face a few times with its slimy tounge then barked a few times. Rio wondered why it was still here. Just then Rio noticed that his wounds were not as bad. Rio was confused; he thought he was not going to make it. He could have sworn he had lost too much blood.

"What are you still doing here?" Rio asked.

"Woof!" the wolf barked and tackled Rio as he was getting up to lick him in the face again.

"Alright, alright! You can stay with me I guess!" Rio said in between laughing.

After saying that Rio stood up again and unlocked the rest of the animals from their cages. They all rush at him.

"Not again!" Rio said.

They all dog piled Rio to thank Rio for freeing them from their cages and with that they all ran into the next room to escape this place. However the Hokkaido wolf did not move. She instead sat on the ground next to Rio.

"Why me?" Rio asked.

The wolf looked at him and rolled its eyes. Rio got up off the floor again and looked at the wolf. He took the time to notice its features. It had a nice snow-white coat of fur and it was a little shaggy. Her nails were also white. Her nose was black, cold, and wet. Her eyes were two different colors. Her left eye was green and her right eye was blue. Her white tail was fluffy and had a patch of black fur on the end of its tail. Her ears stood up and had black fur around the rim. On her front left leg she had a ring and a tag for ID. Rio looked at her ID tag as it read: Subject 0061082.

"What are they doing to you guys?" Rio asked.

The wolf picked up one paw and pointed with her nose toward the open door leading into the next room.

"You need a name.....how about Amy! Come on Amy!!" Rio yelled as he ran toward the door.

He looked back to see Amy following right behind him. Rio smiled. He had never been this happy before. It was the first time he had ever had this much fun with an animal. Rio could not explain where this sudden burst of happiness was coming from. The two of them ran down the hallway that had many flights of stair leading downward. They ran beside each other with trust and not looking back.

(Meanwhile in the griffin stronghold)

"Well..... I would like to say yes and no." Lazz said.

"What dose that mean Lazz?" Takeshi Obata asked.

" It would be easier for me to show rather then me tell you." Lazz said.

"Okaaay....show me then!" Takeshi Obata said.

‘I feel confident that this should work. If what I have seen so far is correct then he can only emit lightning from his hands. If I take his hands out of the picture he should be defenseless.' Lazz thought.

Lazz quickly shot another R.P.G. warhead at Takeshi Obata. Takeshi Obata's widen and then he reacted by holding his hand out and forming a little wall of lightning to block the explosive warhead. Just then he had noticed Lazz moved from his spot again. Takeshi Obata quickly looked up to find another falling stalactite heading right toward for him. He quickly and effortlessly jumped back to avoid it and as he landed on the ground he skidded a little. Then he noticed a noise that sounded like hissing. Something was coming, but from where. Takeshi Obata looked around and caught a grenade headed right toward him and closing in. He quickly used both his hands to block it with a larger wall of lightning. As he was doing so he heard another shot from behind him. Takeshi Obata quickly crossed his arms and pointed both hands at each side of him and blocked both explosives at the same time. He then saw where Lazz was standing. It was a shadowy figure of him because of all the smoke. He quickly blasted that spot with 12,000 volts of electricity and watched the massive explosion and sparks fly everywhere. More smoke filled the room.

"Agrgrgrhhh!!!!" Lazz screamed at the top of his lungs.

Takeshi Obata laughed evilly as he knew that screamed was proof he had hit his target. Just then in the midst of his evil laughing Lazz snuck up behind Takeshi Obata and restrained him then put his KM2000 combat knife against his neck.

"Don't move!" Lazz shouted.

"What the.....but when?" Takeshi Obata asked.

"I screamed just now to lower your sense of security. I led you to believe you had hit me with a lightning bolt. When really you did not I expected you to hurl one my way and effortlessly evaded it." Lazz said calmly.

"Not bad.....however...." Takeshi Obata said.

Suddenly Takeshi Obata lit his whole body in an electrical current. This action shocked Lazz with more then 15,000 volt of electricity and sent him flying into the air. Takeshi Obata quickly shot a long stream of lightning at Lazz while airborne and shocked him. Lazz quickly saw the attack coming and crossed his arms over his face to protect himself. Then as he landed he started to skid. He used his knife to reduce the skidding by stabbing the ground and applying pressure. He finally came to a halt and looked up to see Takeshi Obata's scales a different color again. Just then Takeshi Obata shot more lightning bolts at Lazz. Lazz began to dodge each one and tried to come up with a new plan. However one of the lightning bolts hit the wall behind Lazz and caused the wall to begin leaking with water. It was a tiny amount of water, but it still flowed endlessly from the wall. Lazz turned to look at this.

"Interesting. I see." Lazz said.

"You shouldn't have turned your back on me." Takeshi Obata yelled.

Takeshi Obata ran at Lazz as fast as his legs could carry him. He started to charge up all his electricity in his body and lit up the whole cavern. Lazz smiled and shook his head. Then he pulled out a detonator and pressed the only button on it and suddenly the whole area Takeshi Obata was running toward exploded. One giant explosion after another occurred in a chain reaction. The strong gusts of wind rushed past Lazz and sent the smoke everywhere. The whole cavern was now one big smoke screen. There was zero visibility. Lazz looked at himself and noticed more first-degree burns on his body from Takeshi Obata's last attack.

"What the heck was that just now?!" Takeshi Obata said.

A strong gust of wind blew from him as his whole body once again lit up with lightning. Lazz walked closer to Takeshi Obata and looked at him. He saw that his scales had returned to normal yet again. Lazz decided to cut himself with his knife very carefully and non fatal to anything. He began to bleed a dark crimson red on his left arm. He then looked at Takeshi Obata again. He saw his scales turn a different color once again. Lazz finally figured it all out and smiled.

"I have finally figured you out Takeshi Obata.......or should I say Thunder Pegasus!" Lazz yelled.

"Ohh....when did you figure out it was me?" Thunder Pegasus said.

"Well, first you use lightning based attacks, that was a dead give away. However there is more to it then just that. Next I noticed your power other then lightning.....illusions. You can cast an illusion anytime you want. Hence why my commanding officer Quicksilver named you "Thunder Pegasus, master of disguise" in his report. Master of disguise huh? Of coarse.... Because you can cast any illusion to disguise yourself." Lazz said.

"Not...bad....you...worm." Thunder Pegasus said.

"That's not all. You also called me by my name earlier. How could you have known my name even though I never told it to you? I figure you had to be my old partner since you six other then my current partner and commanding officer know my name. Finally I noticed your illusions slowly wearing off because of your power. It requires you to hold the cast you performed so if either one of us get hurt it will disrupt the illusion but not the hold on the cast. It seems the pain reflex in our bodies allow us to see right through your illusions. In other words only when I get hurt can I temporally negate the illusion and see the truth. However, since you use your illusion to help your lightning attacks seem more powerful then what they really are, when I feel the pain I negate the illusion and feel less pain thus making the illusion cast itself again before I realize what I am seeing or going through. I must admit at first I thought it was a poison or something and could not do anything about it, however now that I know that it is just illusions I feel more confident that I can beat you and complete my mission!" Lazz said.

" You really figured all that out whoa..." Thunder Pegasus said.

Thunder Pegasus began to sweet, as he could not believe what he just heard from Lazz. How long had he known this? How long was he just playing along? Thunder Pegasus took a step back and kept gaze on Lazz.

"To answer your earlier question, those explosions were caused by my C4 I planted during all the earlier smoke screens. You ran right over them as you rushed at me blinded by rage. To be honest, I did not think that my R.P.G. and grenade launcher combination would work as well as it did. I guess there is a first time for everything." Lazz said.

Lazz looked at Thunder Pegasus. He was now bleeding a light purple color all over him. He was breathing heavy and could hardly stand. His professional business tuxedo was now ripped to shreds and parts of his scales could be seen. His scales were now a different color yet again. Thunder Pegasus's ambush was nice, however the tides have turned in Lazz's favor. Lazz knew it was over for him; one more attack would finish this. Lazz started to plan out his next move while reloading his weapons.

"I didn't........ think ..........I would........... have........ to..... use this!" Thunder Pegasus said.

Just then Thunder Pegasus lit up again and this time his scales began to melt off of him. His light purple blood melted away with his uniform and his entire outlook. Lazz knew this was no illusion this was real, this was his true form as a member of BLACK FANG. After he finished melting away his old outlook he stood up completely healed and unharmed. He began to laugh at Lazz because he knew he was dumbfounded. Lazz looked at him with enlightenment. His new look suited better. He was a Pegasus with two heads and lightning for wings. One of the two heads had black fur. While the other one had red fur. His fur was spiked and stood right up because of all the electricity. His wings were spread out far and wide and were made out of lightning, which helped him to slowly rise into the air by flapping them. He also wore golden rings over his hooves and torso and even had a golden headpiece. He also had a long tail made of lightning as well and it swayed back and forth. His eyes were an aqua color and shined thanks to all the lightning. Electricity surrounded him and surge from him rapidly.

"Behold my true power!!!!" Thunder Pegasus yelled.

"Oh boy. This isn't good." Lazz said.

Lazz quickly shot his R.P.G at Thunder Pegasus, but it was no use. Thunder Pegasus had shot a lightning blast from his month so big it collided with the explosive warhead and kept going and hit the spot Lazz was standing in. Lucky for Lazz however he had avoided it. Good thing he did to. Because now that Thunder Pegasus had transformed he was packing over 32,000 volts of electricity. Lazz ran behind a large crate and tried to rest up a little. Lazz needed to come up with a new plan and quick before it was too late.

"It's no use hiding!" Thunder Pegasus yelled.

(Elsewhere in the stronghold)

"Hey wait up Amy!" Rio yelled.

Amy barked as she kept running ahead of Rio and entered the next room. Rio finally caught up to become shocked and afraid. This room was covered in research lab equipment and animal size test tubes filled with water. Rio did not know what was going on he looked inside the test tubes to see animals inside. They didn't look alive anymore. This room was huge and seemed to go on forever and was covered with those test tubes. Rio suddenly stopped to look around at a desk that had paper documents all over it about the matter at hand. However before he could read one he heard a voice he had never heard before.

"Step away from there!"

Rio looked at Amy and smiled.

"Wow! You can talk? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Rio asked.

"Over here you moron!"

Rio looked behind him to see someone he had never seen before. It was a black and white dragon with scales. He had brown eyes and he had a small amount of black hair on the top of his head. It was spiked to give him more of a cool look. He was carrying a sword in his hand and pointed it at Rio. He was wearing a black shredded robe like outfit. More swords could be seen everywhere on this dragon. A high tech gadget could be seen on his left arm.

"Who are you!?" Rio asked.

"That's not important! Just step away from that thing!"

Rio looked behind him to see a huge test tube with a creature he had never seen before inside.

"What the hell is that thing!?" Rio asked.

Just then Amy barked at a doorway and the gadget on the black and white dragons arm began to make a beeping noise.

"Damn it, not again!"

Rio watched as the doorway filled up with eight griffin soldiers each with an assault rifle. Rio snapped his finger and Amy ran back to his side. All the griffin soldiers pointed their weapons at Rio and took aim.

"There he is!! We found the intruder!! One griffin said.

"Wait who is the red dragon?" The second griffin asked.

"It must be his partner! Kill them both!!" The third griffin yelled.

"You're the intruder?!" Rio shouted.

Amy barked as the eight griffin soldiers opened fire on the two helpless dragons.
