This one is again story focused, I promiser there will be sex soon :p

Also it's a bit shorter than the usual chapters, but it seemed like a good spot to end it

The sun slowly coming up was what woke Matt up. He couldn't even remember falling asleep last night, everything he did remember was lots of crying. The first thing he had seen waking yesterday after his nightmare were exactly what he was seeing now, his bunny's worried eyes.

"What's the matter bun-bun?

"You were crying in your sleep Sir."

Matt reached for his eyes, Nate was right, his fur was soaked.

"Please Sir, can I do anything to make you feel better? I hate seeing you like this, it always reminds me of when you..."

"Sorry bun-bun unless you happen to have a time machine I doubt there is anything you can do."

"Do... do you want to talk about it Sir?"

"Not really..."

Matt pulled his bunny closer to him, putting his head on Nate's shoulder while petting him. He felt like a cub with an oversized plush toy. He sighed.

"... but I guess you have a right to know."

Matt told his dream as calmly as he could, stopping multiple times to fight back his tears. Starting with his happy memories he had with his master in the beginning, followed by the transitional phase and finally telling Nate about his master's death. Even as brisk as he had told the story it was enough to bring tears to his eyes.

He wiped away the tears but kept his eyes closed. He dreaded this moment. It always was the same. He'd open his eyes and the first thing he'd see was the sadness and compassion in the eyes of every partner he had told the story. He checked anyway and hated being right. Next usually came some sort of motivational speech or 'I'm so sorry to hear that' in some form or another.

"I'm so sorry Sir".

And then finally came the realization that they couldn't or didn't want to deal with someone so damaged, which shortly after meant they'd have the sudden realization that they don't want a master at the moment, or something in their family had come up, or whatever. He wondered what Nate's version of that excuse would be,would he after all the times he chose to stay finally ask to be let go?

"I'd love to say something to make you feel better Sir, but I know I can't. All I can offer you is my shoulder if you want to cry or my ear if you want to talk.

That was new. Matt didn't know how to react, so he just continued to hug and pet his bunny.

The remaining holidays went by rather spectacularly, not that either of them minded in the slightest. Both could do with a few boring days, spent mostly eating and lazily spending the remaining day on the couch or in bed. The only thing Matt had insisted upon during those days was that the bunny regularly drank a big glass of water, and check his bandage a few times per day.

About a week after the incident with the bear Leon called them, wanting to come by later that day to have a quick look at Nate's piercing as well as talk something over which he refused to discuss over the phone.

6 pm came around and the doorbell announced Leon's arrival. Matt lead him upstairs to the bedroom where Nate was waiting. Leon gave the bunny's cock a quick but thorough check, making sure there was no more blood and barely any soreness.

"Looks good so far. I'd say give it another week before you can slowly try to use your joystick for more than peeing again. Be careful though, if there is any pain or discomfort that's your body telling you to stop."

"Thank you S...Leon."

"Matt? Could we talk somewhere a bit more private?"

"Sure, let's talk in the kitchen. Bun-bun feel free to take a nap, but don't disturb us please."

Nate just nodded, beaming at the thought of maybe getting to touch his cock again soon.

In the kitchen Matt grabbed two beers out of the fridge and placed them on the table.

"So what is Nate not supposed to hear?

"It's about the bear, I now know how he found you."

"HOW!"

"He bribed one of our tech guys at another office. He has since been fired. Also I took the liberty of filing a complaint in your name as soon as I heard."

"What happened to the bear?"

"I really don't think you want to know."

"I could have killed him, and I still don't know if I'm happy I didn't."

"Trust me, he most likely is wishing you did."

"Tell me!"

"He got sold as a labour slave to some African country. I don't know where to exactly or what he'll be doing, but either way it won't be fun for him."

Matt swallowed. He'd be lying if he said he felt sorry for the bear, but still, thinking back to how he got Nate, and the things he saw and heard that day, he wasn't sure if the bear deserved that much.

"You were right ... I didn't need to know that, thanks though."

"On a more positive side, since it is the company's fault all this happened and I filed that complaint you will get some sort of compensation.

"Like what?"

"That's why I'm here. I'm supposed to negotiate, but before I make you an offer there is something I want to ask you. What I offer you will depend on that answer."

"Why is that?"

"Because I like Nate and while I think you have good intentions, some things just don't add up. Someone like you doesn't usually buy a slave. You're simply not the type. Unless I'm misjudging you and you're more on the mentally sadistic side."

"Sadistic? Have you met me?"

"I once had someone interested in the gold package, just as you, and I have him the same advice. He didn't follow it, said he wanted it to be a surprise. Then on the big day be brought the slave in and had him open the box while explaining what just had happened. The slave had a complete breakdown. He hadn't known any other life for years and being told everything was going to change ... he just couldn't cope, and that wasn't even the worst thing I saw that day. His master unzipped his pants right then and there, blew his load over the crying mess and left."

Matt was speechless, not just the fact that someone would do such a thing but that Leon thought he would be able to.

"You want to know why I bought Nate I assume."

"Yes."

The otter sighed, finished his beer and went to get another one.

"You are right with one thing, I didn't want to buy a slave. A friend of my old ... my old master invited me because I was having difficulties finding a ... relationship I guess. Because I ... fuck, I guess I need to tell the story a second time today."

Again Matt told the story of his master's death, Leon offered no sympathy though, he just listened and nodded.

"After the accident Pete took me in for a while, he said he had promised my master that should anything happen to him he'd help me get back on my feet. We kept in contact through the years, he gave me some advice when I switched from the sub side to the dom one and over the years he was the one helping me cope whenever another sub decided to leave. Then a month ago he told me he had a solution to my problem and ..."

He still couldn't believe he was driving to a slave auction, an honest to god, real life slave auction. At least he was hoping it. While Matt still hadn't come to terms with the fact that slavery still existed he was kinda hoping for it by now, because the other explanation he could come up with was some kind of government agency grabbing and disappearing people who wanted to own a slave. He'd doubt Pete would willingly send him to something like this, but still.

The drive to the abandoned office building took him a quite a while, not helping the increasing upset stomach. Why had he even agreed to meet the tiger. He had no intention of owning a slave like this. Sure, the had a few slaves during his time in the bdsm scene, but those guys had willingly submitted.

Pulling into the parking lot he could already see the siberian tiger near the entrance. Somewhat surprised no sirens started sounding as he stepped out of the car he made his way over.

"Hey Pete, so, uhm what should I expect?"

"Ha! Don't fret it. It's just like any auction."

"I'm still not sure why I actually came to be honest."

"That's easy otter, you came because you are sick of wannabe slaves leaving you, just because you have a bit of baggage."

"Still those people inside there, they had their lives taken away, and before you go on about they'll have it better with me than anyone else interested in buying them, it still feels fucking wrong."

"Well, you've made the argument for me. No one is forcing you to buy today, or at all for that matter. But if you do and regret it somewhere along the way you can always sell them again, or knowing you, release them. Let's go get registered."

The tiger lead the way down the corridors until they made it to something that once was a conference room. A short queue had formed, which surprised Matt, Were there really that many people coming to these events. Getting in line this felt more like a visit at a DMV or something like that. Finally making it to the front he got handed a registration form, a pen and was sent on his way.

He stared at the empty form, did he really want to give those people his name and address?

"Don't worry they keep these things only until the end of the auction, after that you get them back or you can tell them to burn them."

"Then why make us fill them out in the first place?"

"In case you can't pay and actually manage to run. Which I suggest you don't try, as you can imagine they'd be kind of pissed about that and let's just say the one time I saw someone trying to change his mind after the auction that didn't end well."

Finishing up his form and handing it in Matt got handled a paddle and invited into the back, where the auction would be held. The back, as it turned out, had been the canteen. It had been stripped bare except for a TV mounted every few feet. They also had build up a stage for the auctioneer.

The light flickered a few times and suddenly the room got quiet.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to this month's slave auction of the northern district. I am happy to announce that we have over a hundred items on today's agenda plus a catalogue of some of our best merchandise from other districts. If you choose to buy from the catalogue please see one of our staff as soon as you decide, as these items have to be reserved. Without further ado lot # 001."

Matt looked over to the monitors as a slideshow of the first slave got shown, together with some basic information such as name, age, previous training and the starting bid. Lot #001 was a male panther. The pictures that were shown had clearly been taken by his master, as they showed him in various sexual poses, as well as in some heavy duty bondage. The slideshow ended with a close up of the panther's cum covered face.

The room erupted with talk among the potential buyers, talking about the stats and commenting on things they'd do to the poor cat. Matt felt sick to his stomach. How these people could talk about them like they were objects was beyond him. How could you look in a person's eyes and treat them like a thing?

Turning to Pete Matt wondered whether the tiger felt similarly or if he was like the rest of them.

"I think I'm gonna need a drink, or some air, probably both."

"Sure thing, I'll come get you if something good comes up."

Matt walked towards the bar that had been set up in the back. He was shocked what he had just heard, 'someTHING' , well that settled that. Matt ordered a scotch and went through an open door into the yard. Sitting down on a bench he sighed. He was definitely wrong here. He should have listened to his gut. He should have just gotten a dog or something. Why did he even consider buying another person just to have somebody to come home to. This should have been so obvious. Emptying his glass he went back inside to say his goodbye to Pete, probably forever.

The auction was still going, though whoever was being sold now didn't seem to be all that interesting to people. No bidding was happening and the price was still sitting at the starting bid of 40,000.

Making his way through the crowd he overheard bits and pieces of conversations.

"A shame really."

"No one is going to buy that."

"Who would even want something so useless"

Matt reached Pete, who was standing next to a TV looking rather bored. The TV showed only two pictures of a white bunny wearing a blindfold, front and back.

"Why are they all complaining about that bunny, he doesn't look so bad."

"You don't want that one Matt, take a closer look. You can clearly see the ribs. Then when you look at the fingers they're basically just skin and bones. Also there is the spot on the back the bunny couldn't reach while cleaning that is still completely dirty and matted. Plus the info states it got fed balanced meals. With something this poor looking you're better off burning your money."

He almost threw up. Hearing the tiger describe everything wrong with the bunny was just too much. He wanted to do something, anything, even if it was just giving that bunny something to eat. But for that he'd have to buy him, which not only he couldn't afford but that still not sounded right to him.

"Attention please, due to lacking demand the starting bid for this lot will be reduced to 25,000."

Still no one raised their paddle. Matt felt bad for the bunny, technically he could now afford him, but 25,000 were all of his savings, and then what.

"It seems lot #006 will have to return with its master tonight, last chance to bid for this wonderful bunny."

Matt swallowed, he wasn't sure the bunny would survive going back home with his master judging by the state he was in. He squeezed the handle of his paddle and raised his arm.

"I see 25,000, anyone going 26? Going once ... twice .... sold!"

What had he just done?

"... that's about it. I haven't seen Pete since and I don't intend to to be honest."

"Ok, I believe you so far. One more question. Why go through all that trouble and money to free him? The company doesn't care what you do with your property, and you could just as easily drop him off at the nearest police station, let them do the work and he'd get his old life back."

"I ... never considered that. How could I not consider that?"

He was devastated, the solution had been right there the whole time. Why had he not seen it? Had he decided on the gold package to keep Nate with him longer? Was he really that selfish?

"Listen, I don't mean to be cruel to you, I just want what's best for Nate, as I think you do as well. So here is what I'd do, keep up what you've been doing and make sure he can handle living a free life again then talk to him about what he wants. For some slaves getting their old life back can be too much. People expecting them to be the same person is an unbelievable amount of stress."

Matt just nodded. This was going to be harder than he originally had thought.
