The Bright Eye'd Children

Hello, I was told this site was writer central of the fandom. I really want to improve my writing.

I wrote this story a few weeks ago

This is actually pretty rare for me. I usually write babyfur stuff

The Cheetah stroked the cheek of the female German shepherd doll that stood on a decorated shelf in his bedroom. "You two are so beautiful. I'm so glad we met." With that statement the cheetah turned to the male doll positioned next to the female. "A beautiful, newly married couple, joining me in my house, it's amazing." The cheetah continued.

The cheetah let out a sigh, "but there can be so much more! I have the tool to make as many dolls as I want now!" The cheetah began to pace back and forth in front of the shelf. "Children! Yes! Children would be a perfect addition to our family. Little doll children for the newlyweds to take care of!" The cheetah gazed at the two dolls and turned tilted his head. "Were you two planning on having children? I'm sorry if you were, but hey, I've made you perfect, no cubs is a small price to pay."

The cheetah scratched his chin. "There are a few cubs in the neighborhood. They would make beautiful dolls, but how can I get them in here?" Sitting on the edge of his bed the cheetah softly spoke to himself. "I have a good reputation around the neighborhood, maybe I can convince their parents to let them come to a party at my house. Hmm...No, that would never work."

Tapping his foot the cheetah thought aloud some more, "Once they are here I just need to sit them at the table. Then I can use the tool and then... Wonderful new toys to play with."

The cheetah's face lit up and he snapped his fingers. "The park! Surely I'll find some cubs at the park." With that the cheetah left to get ready to hunt his next victims.

Arriving at the park the cheetah wasted no time. The moment he stepped out of his car he started looking for any children he could find. As fate would have it, a large group of eight children were playing together on the playground that day. The moment he laid eyes on the group the cheetah knew that they were they ones. It was fate, pure and simple, that such a large group would be waiting for him when he went on the hunt.

Consumed with his desire to expand his collection the cheetah walked right up to the edge of the playground and introduced himself. "Hello children! My name is Ronald Preston, but you can call me Mr. Ron!"

The children stopped playing and turned to face the cheetah. They looked at each other with confusion, before finally the male skunk in the group responded, "er, um, hi, I'm Benjamin, but you must call me Ben."

The cheetah clapped his paws together. "Ben! It's so wonderful to meet you! Say, would you and your little friends like to come over to my house for dinner?"

As the kids shared uncomfortable gazes with each other an adult female skunk walked up behind the cheetah, startling him as she spoke. "Excuse me, what's going on over here?" The adult skunk's voice was heavy with concern, and who could blame her? A complete stranger just walked up to her cubs.

Without much hesitation the cheetah spun around. "Ah! Hello! You must be Ben's mother! I was just asking your son and his little friends if they would like to come to my house for dinner."

The adult skunk's eyes grew wide and her mouth dropped. "Listen here! We've never seen you before in our entire lives! Who do you think you are to come up to my cubs and...?"

Her voice was interrupted by Ben's "Actually, momma, we would LOVE to go to his house for dinner. We're REALLY hungry." As he said that the young skunk pointed at his eyes and then winked.

The adult skunk was taken aback, she raised her eyebrow at her son, but as she processed what his gestures meant she relented. "Okay sweetie, if you kids REALLY want to go then I guess its okay."

The cheetah's face lit up with excitement, he couldn't believe how easy it was getting his new toys. The cheetah gave his address and the time to arrive to the adult skunk. He announced to the children that he would be making 'gourmet' chicken soup and that they needed to be sure to bring their appetites.

The cheetah sped home to prepare for the evening. He put the soup on to cook and got some crackers out of his cupboard. He went to a storage closet and brought several chairs to the table. After the cubs had a place to sit the cheetah neatly arranged a bowl and silverware set in front of each chair. Finally, and most importantly, he checked the device hidden behind the dining room wall to make sure it was functioning. After he confirmed that the machine was ready to work he ran into his bedroom.

Giddy as he could be the cheetah began talking to the two dolls on the shelf. "Great news you guys! Our family is about to get eight new members! Precious little cubs!" The cheetah grabbed the female German shepherd doll of the shelf along with a small hairbrush. As he brushed the doll's hair he continued to speak. "You'll be a good mommy to the cubs won't you? I really hope you will be, you guys all need to get along." Smirking he finished his statement. "After all, toys need to stick together right?"

An hour passed as Mr. Ron played with his dolls. He was completely enthralled by them; they were perfect in every way. It wasn't until he heard his doorbell ring that he was able to pull himself away. As the cheetah opened his front door a large smile came over his face. The eight cubs from before were standing on his front porch, blissfully unaware of what was about to happen to them.

Inviting the children inside Mr. Ron quickly went and took a seat on his couch. He could barely contain his excitement, but he needed to make things seem normal as possible. He couldn't have any of the cubs getting spooked and trying to run. Remembering that he had only spoken to the skunk boy before the cheetah asked the rest of the group to introduce themselves. One by one each of the cubs complied.

"My name is Joshua." The red fox kit said as he stepped forward.

"I'm Michael, but most people just call me Mikey" the grizzly bear cub said.

"You've already met my brother." The little skunk girl commented as she stepped forward. "My name is Sarah." She added

"Heya, My name is Timothy" The tiger cub added.

"I'm May, but everyone calls me May." The cow calf said with a giggle.

The deer fawn waved his hands and closed his eyes. "My name is Lucas."

Finally, the orange and yellow tabby kitten spoke, "I'm Richard."

The cheetah grinned. "Well, I'm very happy to meet all of you! I'd like to show you something in my bedroom, and then we can eat!"

The cheetah quickly rushed down the hall to his bedroom, once he arrived at the door he beckoned the cubs to come and join him. As they entered the room the each of the cubs' attention was immediately drawn to the two dolls on the shelf opposite of the foot of the bed. The cheetah grinned as he saw each of the cubs gaze in awe at the toys.

"They are amazing aren't they?" the cheetah muttered.

The comment snapped Sarah out of her awe and she replied. "Er...yeah... they are pretty amazing, where did you get them from?"

With a smug look on his face the cheetah rubbed his paws together. "Oh, I made them myself. They were... inspired by a young couple of newlyweds that visited me a few days ago."

The cheetah immediately continued talking. "They are perfect, no? It kinda makes you wish that you could be a doll doesn't it? Free from responsibility, free from hunger or pain. The only thing that you would need to make you happy would be someone to play with. Well kids, would you like to be toys?"

Timothy turned and looked at the cheetah with a confused look. "How do you know that's all that a toy needs to be happy? If a person were transformed into a toy I imagine they would be terrified and in a ton of pain. They wouldn't be able to move or interact with the world around them. It would be horrifying if you ask me."

The cheetah shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, maybe at first, but after a while I imagine you would get used to it. I mean, wouldn't you basically be immortal? Over the span of well, forever, you would probably become immune to any pain, and after a while you'd stop being scared yeah?"

Before anyone could respond the cheetah clapped his paws together and announced that dinner would be served in a few minutes. The eight cubs left the bedroom and headed to the dining room. Each cub took a seat as Mr. Ron went into the kitchen to fetch the soup and crackers.

Mr. Ron carried the pot of soup to the table, setting it down in the prepared place at the center. He thanked the children as they told him how good it smelled, after setting up rows of crackers around the pot for the cubs to grab at their discretion he took a large ladle and began to dip each cub a large severing.

Once everyone had a full bowl the cubs started eating. The cheetah happily stood to the side as the cubs enjoyed his cooking. He really did hope it tasted good to them, might as well give them a good last meal before the change.

Several minutes passed as the cubs ate, the discussed their school lives. What they wanted to do when they got home. Told each other funny stories, and generally just sat around having a good time. The whole time Mr. Ron watched them, he was infatuated, and he just knew that they were going to make beautiful dolls once he changed them. He was using everything he had to keep from activating the machine too early.

When the cheetah noticed that most of the soup bowls were empty and the crackers were completely gone he stepped forward. Firmly planting his paws on the table he made a loud knocking sound. The sound was enough to get each cub's attention. Once their eyes met his he began to speak. "So cubs, did you enjoy the meal?"

"Yep! It was pretty tasty! Thanks so much for inviting us over!" Michael said with a warm smile.

"I'm so glad you cubs enjoyed it. I really admire your little group... so much so that I'd like you to stay here... forever." The cheetah said as his tone grew darker.

A nonchalant Ben let out a burp, "Sorry Mr. Ron, we got school Monday, we can't stay here forever."

The cheetah gave the cubs a wicked smile. "Ah yes, little cubs do have to go to school, but you aren't going to be little cubs much longer. See, I have a fancy machine that's going to make you perfect. Make you into little dolls, beautiful, beautiful dolls for my collection." The cheetah stared up at the ceiling with a whimsical look in his eyes "and in the morning I'm going to sit down and play with my new toys."

The nine children began to laugh hysterically, Lucas couldn't help but pound the table with his fist, Michael held his sides, and Joshua laughed so hard he began coughing, which caused the other seven children to laugh even harder. After a few minutes Ben was able to calm himself down enough to speak. "Oh, Mr. Ron... That's rich!"

A sly smile came across the cheetah's face. "I'm afraid you children misunderstand the situation, I didn't bring you here to feed you, I brought you here to make you part of my collection."

The smile on the cheetah's face became more and more twisted as he lowered his head and spoke in a menacing tone. "And I am quite serious about everything I'm saying."

To the cheetah's surprise the children didn't change their demeanor, in fact they seemed to be giggling almost uncontrollably, through a serious of snickers Timothy managed to say, "Uh oh guys! Mr. Ron is totally gonna turn us into toys!"

Mr. Ron just closed his eyes and smiled, "I hope you cubs are this much fun once you're plastic!" With that the cheetah slammed the side of his dining room wall, causing a strange machine to quickly emerge, before the children had time to react the machine spit a thick mist over them and began quickly beaming red lights around the room.

The cheetah crossed his arms with satisfaction as he heard cries and pleas for help come from the mist, the cries rapidly became smaller and smaller and eventually stopped altogether, the cheetah put his paws in his pocket as he waited for the machine to finish so he could collect his bounty.

The machine quickly formed itself back into the wall, after just a few clicks the wall looked exactly the way it did before the machine had been activated. Now that it was safe for him to walk into the mist Mr. Ron stepped forward into the dining room. He was giddy with excitement, already thinking of all the things he could do with his new toys. He wanted to knit little school-children outfit for them to wear as they stood on his shelf.

Walking up to the table the cheetah immediately went to where the little skunk boy had been sitting minutes ago, though the mist was thick he could tell the chair was no longer occupied, but as the mist continued to settled the cheetah immediately realized something was wrong. When they changed their clothes should have fallen off, and should now be waiting in the empty chair. "Wha..." he began to say, but before he could finish he felt a strong tug on his tail.

As he turned around he saw Richard's paw tightly grasping the end of his tail, the kitten had a nearly demonic smile on his face. Not only that, but his soft green eyes appeared to be faintly glowing.

The cheetah heard a voice ring out from the mist; he immediately recognized it was Ben's. The young skunk spoke in a tone that should have been out of the capability of someone his age. "No, no. I'm afraid YOU misunderstand, Mr. Ron. We weren't laughing at your threat to transform us. We were laughing at you for thinking that you are going to live to see the morning."

As the mist settled enough for the all the children's faces to become visible Mr. Ron could see that each of the cubs had the same twisted smile on their face as Richard, and just like Richard, their eyes were also faintly glowing. The cheetah's eyes grew wide as he began to stammer, "Wha...What the hell is going on?"

Lucas immediately responded, "Oh man, could you please talk some more? The fear in your voice is...exquisite."

May closed her eyes and pointed her finger at the cheetah. Mr. Ron felt his feet leave the ground, as an invisible force hoisted him into the air. The cheetah's jaw dropped open in disbelief; he jerked his head around quickly, trying to make sense of what was going on. He continued to stammer, "What are you doing?!"

Michael quickly hopped onto the table to put himself near eye level with the cheetah. As he did this May wagged her finger and the cheetah was tossed forward, hitting the edge of the table with his legs. Michael then walked forward and reached his paw out, placing it on the cheetah's cheek. The bear spoke in a sinister tone, "Come on now, did you really think you were going to get away with this forever? It's time for you to answer for your crimes."

The frantic cheetah blurted out, "I'VE DONE NOTHING WRONG!"

In response the grizzly cub joked, "The soup didn't have enough salt, and the crackers were stale!" The statement got a giggle from the other children.

After the quick laugh Sarah began to speak, "but seriously though, if you've done nothing wrong, why are there two dolls in your bedroom that have minds and souls bound to them that and are screaming at us to set them free?"

The cheetah almost choked on his spit at the statement, there was no way they could know about that. The panic cheetah blurted out "Just...just what the hell are you anyway?"

Lucas's face melted into a warm smile, the fawn closed his eyes and put a finger up as he slowly walked towards the cheetah. "I'm so glad you asked Mr. Ron! Truth is we've never gotten a full answer ourselves, but we like to think that we're god's angels of justice. Descended from heaven to punish the wicked."

The cheetah couldn't respond. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing coherent would come out. Strained sounds and frantic wheezing was the only thing the cheetah was currently able to produce. Richard finally let go of the cheetah's tail and began to speak. "When you turned that couple into dolls you did far more than take their lives away."

Joshua immediately took over where Richard left off. "You committed profanity against their souls."

Benjamin began talking as soon as the fox kit closed his mouth. "You defiled the natural order of the universe."

Even though her eyes were closed Sarah was able to keep the group's statement flowing. "A crime so egregious that you simply cannot be forgiven on this plane of existence."

Lucas pointed his finger at the cheetah. "Now you will pay your penance in blood."

The tiger cub stepped forward next. "When we usher you to your creator's feet, you can beg him to show you mercy."

Michael spoke softly, "Your fate has been decided."

May finished the group's words. "You are hereby sentenced to death." With that the calf curled her extended hand into a fist.

The cheetah watched in horror as the children's eyes began to glow brighter and brighter, until they were sets of glowing orbs. Ethereal light began to flow out of each of the children's paws, and a purple bubble formed around Mr. Ron. The cheetah fell a few inches hitting the bubble around him. Whatever force that had been suspending him in mid-air was gone now, and the cheetah was free to move. Though the bubble was small and cramped and he could only shift his body around inside.

A strange material formed at the top of the. It appeared to be smoke, but moved like it was a liquid. The substance consolidated into a bulb and soon dripped down, striking the cheetah's paw. The cheetah screamed in pain as a horrible burning sensation enveloped his paw. He quickly jerked it away from its former position and held it up to his face. His eyes grew wide as he watched the fur on his paw quickly dissolve, shortly after the flesh of his paw began to rapidly melt away as well.

The sinew rapidly evaporated until nothing was left of the cheetah's paw but white bone, the strange substance of the bubble quickly ate away at the tissues holding the many bones in the paw together, and the smaller bones fell to the bottom of the orb, quickly being engulfed by the material that was beginning to pool there.

The cheetah let out an agonized scream before shifting himself towards the edge of the orb where no material had begun to form. He began to shout to the children, begging for his life. "PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. I'M SO SORRY ABOUT WHAT I DID. I SWEAR I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!"

Joshua laughed and then spoke to the cheetah, "Oh, you are one hundred percent right about that last part. You're definitely never going to do it again; as a matter of fact you're not going to do much of anything after the next few minutes!" The fox's voice sounded completely different now, it was like listening to two people talk in unison, one voice belonging to a little fox kit, the other voice sounding like it belonged to a middle aged male.

Another drop of the substance fell from the ceiling and hit the cheetah's leg, causing him to let out another agonized cry. "PLEASE STOP THIS. I'LL DO ANYTHING YOU WANT, I'LL GIVE YOU EVERTHING I HAVE, JUST PLEASE, DON'T KILL ME!!!"

Not swayed by the cheetah's pleas Richard talked, "We're not the ones you need to be begging right now. You only have a few minutes left; if I were you I'd use them to make peace with God. Trust me, what we're doing to you now is nothing compared to what's going to happen if you don't."

With tears in his eyes Mr. Ron threw his head backwards and shouted "GOD! I'M SORRY FOR EVERYTHING I DID. FORGIVE ME, PLEASE!!!"

In response Sarah Spoke. "That's good, Mr. Ron, even though you've done something horrendous you're still a creation of the universe. Divine providence can still find you."

The cheetah briefly smiled, the skunk girl's words gave him a faint sliver of hope that he might make it out of this alive. That hope was quickly destroyed by May. "Yes... you're soul may yet know peace in the hereafter, but on this plane, you will die."

Shrieking as the strange substance enveloped his lower body the cheetah tried to use his remaining paw to back away, as he did so he whimpered when he saw that he had completely lost his lower body. He was now nothing more than a torso, a pair of arms, one of which had no paw at the end, and a head.

The cheetah took a deep breath and leaned backwards. His eyes were growing heavy and his vision was blurring. He knew that he was dying, even if the children let him go this very instant there was no way he was going to survive. Resigning himself to his fate the cheetah closed his eyes and rested. Soon after the substance pooled in the orb to the point that it was once again dissolving the cheetah.

The cheetah whimpered softly as the sting of the substance enveloped his abdomen, quickly rising up and consuming his chest, then his shoulders, and finally covering the cheetah's head. Within the orb the children could see the fur and meat rapidly melt off the cheetah, briefly leaving polished white bones behind, before the skeleton also dissolved away into nothingness.

Once the children were certain that there was not a single trace left of the cheetah they closed their hands simultaneously. The orb spun around rapidly before disintegrating into eight beams of light, which struck the children. The cubs took deep breaths as the light hit them, giving them the energy that they would need to undo what the cheetah had done.

Saying nothing to each other they quickly made their way to the back room of the house where Mr. Ron kept his two trophies. As soon as they saw the two dolls the children positioned themselves in a half circle around the shelf that the dolls stood on. Sarah climbed up the side of the shelf until she was high enough to grab the dolls.

With the dolls in her paws Sarah and the others went to the house's living room. Sarah placed the two dolls a few feet apart from each other on the floor. The children formed a circle around the dolls and held out their arms. They closed their eyes and allowed their energy to flow out. The dolls on the receiving end began to glow brightly.

The glow intensified until the room seemed as bright as the surface of the sun. Finally the light seemed to explode, followed directly by a shockwave that broke the glass on the cheetah's television and the glass in the house's windows.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" two voices rang out. Where two plastic dolls had stood before two adult German Shepherds now sat. The two frantically looked around as they took deep breathes. After about a minute the two began to calm down. Pulling herself together the female finally asked. "What happened?"

An exhausted Ben replied. "That guy, Mr. Ron, somehow he got a matter reorganizer. He used it to turn you two into dolls."

The male German shepherd threw his head back and let out a loud "What?!"

Ben explained once again. "Yeah, we have no idea how he managed to get a hold of one, but he lured you two into a trap and turned you into dolls."

The female German shepherd looked around worriedly. "Where is he? Are we safe just sitting here?"

Now Michael stepped forward and explained, "The cheetah is dead. He can't hurt you, or anyone else, ever again."

The two German Shepherds calmed down when their heard their attacker was no more. The male asked, "What day is it?"

Michael replied. "It's Saturday, November 21st three days since he kidnapped you."

The female German shepherd stood up and cupped her paws in front of her. "Thank you... Thank you so much for helping us... but how did you know we were here?"

The female skunk cub walked forward while speaking, "you cried out for help and we heard you."

Before anything else could be said Richard interrupted, his face glowing red with embarrassment. "Before we say or do anything else will you two PLEASE get dressed?!"

The two German shepherds gazed down in unison and saw that they were completely naked. The two dogs emitted an "eek!" while they covered their bodies.

The two dogs ran into the bedroom where they had been before. Fortunately the cheetah had kept their clothes, so they didn't have to stay undressed. An hour later everyone met in front of the Cheetah's house. The eight children and two dogs were joined by a small detachment of personnel from the nearby army base. The leader of the troops, a hyena wearing a trench coat, immediately went up to speak to the German shepherds.

"I'm glad to see you two are okay. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare for everyone involved." The hyena said.

"You've been through a lot, more than most people could ever take. For that reason I'm gonna tell you the truth about what we are going to do with you. We're gonna give you some drugs that are gonna wipe your memories of the last week or so clean, no emotional damage, and no psychological trauma. Neat huh?" The hyena continued

The male German Shepherd looked the hyena in the eye, "I... you know what? That's probably for the best. I just wanna go home."

The hyena clapped his paws together, "We can certainly do that for you!" Pointing to towards a black van that had parked in the driveway he continued, "Just go talk to the guys in the van, they'll get you home safe and sound and help you forget this entire thing."

As the two German Shepherds stood up and walked towards the van the hyena spun around to the children. With an inquisitive look on his face he asked, "Alright cubs, what the hell did you do?" without letting any of the children answer the hyena continued, "I mean, we can't find any trace of the guy, no fresh skin cells, no recently fallen hair, it's like you erased him from existence!"

Without missing a beat May spoke, "We ate him."

The hyena tilted his head, "Come again?"

Ben stepped forward and reiterated May's point, "We ate him."

They hyena put his paws on his hips, "Gonna need a bit more than that. We've never had another bright eye 'eat' someone."

Sarah sighed and explained what happened, "We combined our powers into a central point to form a bubble and trapped Mr. Ron inside of it. Then we formed an unstable stream of energy that acted like a highly corrosive acid. Naturally the stream dissolved the organic matter that made up Mr. Ron and converted it into energy, stabilizing itself in the process. Once he was completely converted we took the energy from the bubble and absorbed it, that gave us the extra 'umph' we needed to turn those two back to normal."

The hyena gave the cubs an odd look, "So... you literally created a stomach in mid air and then digested him..."

Ben smiled and shrugged his shoulders, "Yep! We totally ate the dude."

The hyena just sighed and closed his eyes. "Well... congratulations on your creativity. You could have at least let us interrogate the guy first. As far as we know he never worked for the government, so I can't figure out how in the world he got a matter reorganizer."

Richard's expression turned stone cold serious as he spoke to the hyena. "No, we couldn't have waited for an interrogation. Remember; suffer not the profane to live."
