[edit] Will it work this time? Maybe?

It was a spooky day in the town of Wormwood. The wind was blowing hard, the sky was cloudy but not dark, and the grass was covered by the Autumn leaves. The entire town was inside their homes, on their computer or reading a book on their laptops about happy things for Halloween day. No one out and about or with candy to give or to plan on getting. All, except one, littile squirrel.

This squirrel wasn't a Wormwood citizen like the rest of the people living there. He had moved from his old home to this new one in the hopes of finding new ideas for his stories and his drawings. He had not been in this city for no more than a few days. He was not no more than 20 but with his short height and his childish looks, he looked less than 12 in age.

One day, while he was walking the sidewalk by his lonesome, he noticed the lack of Halloween spirt in everything he saw. No windows had spooky stickers on them, no lawn was covered in Halloween decoration, no railing had webbing and the didn't smelled the hint of carved pumpkin like it always had in his old home.

"This city," The squirrel thought. "Has no Halloween spirit in it. I shall help this place by decorating it!"

So the squirrel did just that. He went to the back of every store that he could get into, bought all of the Halloween decorations that he could muster, and began spreading them individually onto all the homes that he could see. Soon, every home in the town was fulled with Halloween's decor, but not it's sprit. Nobody had notice the decorations or even looked out their windows to glance at all the squirrel has done.

"Hmmm." said the squirrel. "This town still has lost it's spirt for the Halloween terror. Maybe if I can convince the people with candy, then they may rechared with the spirit of Halloween."

So again, the squirrel went back at it. He went to every candy store that was avalible, purchased all the greatest brands of candy that they had such as "Twisties", "Kat Kitters", "ButterPaws", and "Jolly Dragons", and poured them into bowls infront of everybody's houses. Then, after placing the bowl, the squirrel knocked really hard on the doors and shouted "Trick or Treat!", then he ran away, hoping the person would come get the candy and be fueled with Halloween spirt. After the squirrel had filled all the doors and knocked on all the doors, he waited a bit then went back to see if his plan has worked. When he walked back through all the houses, he saw all the doors still had the bowls and all the candy inside them. From this, the squirrel knew his plan has failed.

"Hmpft" The squirrel angrily mumbled. "Why isn't anybody wanting the enjoyment of Halloween? Has this town completely forgotten this faithful time of the year? The year to scare and enjoy instead of scare and hate?"

And just then, the little squirrel realized, this town must not have had a proper Halloween before. Maybe, they just didn't know what Halloween was in the first place. If nobody knew what a "Halloween" was, they cannot celebrate it because they haven't heard of it.

So, with the power of Halloween tightly grasped upon the squirrel's little paws, he went back into action, trying to find a way to make everybody know what a Halloween really was. He went to all the houses that he went to earlier and grabbed all the candy he could hold. Then he got all the decorations from all the people's homes and started making costumes and masks out of them. When he was finished, it was the darkest point of the afternoon. A prime time to start Tricking or Treating people.

With all the candy in his bowl and one of the few spooky costumes that he made, he set off, starting from house one to house ten, ringing their doorbells and handing whoever came out the door candy while saying: "Happy Halloween". After giving out the candy to the first few houses, he decided that it was Tricking time. He rang the next ten house's doorbells and hid till somebody came out. When they did, the squirrel would jump out of a bush or jump down from the roof and scare them while shouting "Boo!" or "It's Halloween!". It worked most of the time. Their were a few however that didn't flinch at all, so if the squirrel had tried to scare a person and they didn't react or be frightened, he'll have to apologize or give them some candy that he had.

After clearing all the houses in town, the squirrel looked back to see if he had made some progress. From the empty streets and the blue light flashing from most of the windows, he had not. The squirrel, being disappointed, slowly walked back to his house, dragging all the costumes and candy he had left over. He got in his bed, hid himself in the covers and felt sorry, as the Halloween Spirit just won't be taken into this town. All the squirrel could do now was sleep. Sleep the sadness away, and forget about all he has done.

However, before the squirrel could fully go to sleep, a knock came at his door. It was a quiet knock, but it was loud enough to be heard from the squirrel's bed. When the squirrel goes to answer it, nobody was there.

This made the squirrel angry, but not in a mad way. He stepped outside and looked around. When he looked down the street, he saw something glowing far away, but it felt very close. As he took his first step towards the glow, a rabbit jumped down from the squirrels roof and growled at the squirrel, making him panic and fall towards the ground. When the squirrel got back up, the rabbit, with a radiant smile looked at the squirrel and said "Trick or Treat" then ran away.

The squirrel was so happy. When the rabbit ran away, he was able to see that the town was full of people, running up and down the streets, scarring people and giving out candy to children.

The squirrel ran inside, grabbed his costume and a bowl of candy, and then ran back inside to began his Trick or Treating with all the people of Wormwood.
