#20 of ADT-The Star's Journey

Emelia Renxiang is the Animal Tamer in one of the world's most premier traveling circus. She and her sister have tamed anything from Ferrets to mighty Lions. One day, an event leads to an introduction of a new friend, an Eastern Dragon. What happens next will shatter Emelia's world and cast her into a chain of events that promises to forever change the way she will look at the world.

It soon dawned upon me that the best time to place Master Otani's card was in the dead of night. Everyone would be asleep, so if I was quiet I could get in and out without being seen. With the box of cards in my hand, I slipped out of my room and crept down my hallway and the one directly across from mine until I came to Master Otani's room. When I peeked in through the hole, I could see he was sound asleep and snoring loudly. I slowly pushed the door open, the hinges gave a little squeak.

"Please don't be one of those guys who wakes up when a water bug enters your room", I thought to myself, a little scared to say it out loud.

Master Otani's room wasn't as big as I thought it would be. It was about the size of mine, though I guessed for a human that was pretty big. The room was set up with his bed in the middle of it up against the back wall, the stove and the kitchen area in the corner to the right and the Tv and entertainment was to the left along with a dining area to my left and a bathroom to my right. I could see a trunk at the foot of his bed, it was in a horrible location, but other than that I had no options. I retracted my claws inside my paws as I walked across the floor, taking great care to make sure I didn't make any noise. When I was at the foot of the bed, I pulled the card out of the box, set it on the floor and then opened the trunk just enough to slide the card inside, which dissipated with the sparkle and the faint twinkling sound just as the others had. I quietly closed the trunk and crept back out of the room, closing the door behind me and breathing a sigh of relief as I started back to my room.

"Finally", I said quietly, "now I can sleep at night."

I walked back to my room and lay down. Just as I closed my eyes, everything went white and I found myself transported to a completely blank area, there was nothing around but white. The material underneath my paws felt like wood, but it was just white with a sea of infinitely white white below me. I'd never seen so much white in one place.

A low, clattering clapping came into play and I turned around to find Siazach, who was now walking on two legs, still a skeleton, and wearing a cleaner, much more detailed black garment with red stitching. The chains around his wrists had gotten smaller.

"For a demon you have a hell of a fashion sense", I sighed, "every time I see you your condition has improved."

He looked at me.

"I played your game and I won", I said, "you said you'd lift the curse if I got all ten placed."

"Indeed I did", Siazach said, "and it already has been."

I just looked at him, pausing for a minute.

"If the curse has been lifted", I said, 'why am I still a dragon!?"

Siazach laughed one of the most deranged schizophrenic laughs I'd ever heard, just the pitch made my blood boil and the scales feel like they were going to crawl off my skin.

"You put too much stock in the words of a demon", he laughed, "the curse has indeed been lifted. I said you could commit suicide as you wished, I never said you would turn human again. You assumed, and you were wrong."

He snapped his fingers and the white around us fell down to reveal a scorched Earth. The ground was black with contamination, the skies were blood red. Humans and a few dragons were dragging enormous stones with ropes tied to their bodies while floating Skeletons with swords and whips forced them to go faster. Behind me was a giant stone structure that was stained with blood and had four pillars, one at each corner, with a stone table that had a sword stuck in it that was worn from use. Siazach himself, at least I assumed it was him because he wore the same robe, stood behind the table as a Chrome blue Asian dragon that looked a lot like Tyranny, but was too young to be him, was dragged to the table and tied down. Siazach whispered words in his ear I couldn't make out and then drove the sword down through his mouth and split him in half before tossing him, somehow still alive, into a pot of magma below the platform.

"Do you know who that dragon was?", Siazach smiled.

I didn't answer at first.

"No", I said, "it looked like Tyranny."

"Close", Siazach snickered, "but not quite, he's related to Tyranny, keep trying."

My mind drifted to the thought that he might be his brother, but that went out pretty fast, then I thought it might be his son.

"His son?", I asked.

He nodded and his bony face twisted into a demonic grin, "ding."

"You bastard", I snarled turning to face him, "you'll never get to realize your goals. What's stopping me from killing you right here!?"

"The fact that this is merely a glimpse of what is to come", he snickered, "assuming my undead brother stays out of my way, I will see my goal completed within a month. You should be proud of yourself, for you shall bring the Earth into an age where the few prosper on the backs of the lesser."

"I'll never help you!", I growled, "the second you enter my realm, you become mortal! I'll kill you if I ever see you again!"

"How are you going to kill me Emelia?", he asked looking me in the eyes. My blue ones meeting his black pits, "I've been dead for 60 million years. I suffered greatly before I passed at the hands of Eastern Bounty Hunters, soon the entire Earth will know the pain I experienced in the hours that lead to my death at the hands of your kind. Your time is up Emelia, it's been up for ten years!"

He snapped his fingers again as I lunged at him and I found myself colliding the wall of my room, putting a crack in the wood and sending a surge of pain through my neck and head.

"Crap!", I moaned as I stumbled backwards.

About two seconds later, Tyranny was in my door way.

"What the hell!?", he asked, "Emelia what did you do!?"

"Rammed the wall", I sighed shaking my head, trying to clear up my vision.

'The fuck you do that for?", he asked.

I sighed, shook my head and looked at him, "it's a bit of a long story, can we talk at your place?"

"Sure", Tyranny said sounding unsure.

We walked from my room to his and lay down in front of his stove. It was kind of cold outside, so the heat was nice.

"What's on your mind?", Tyranny asked.

"It has to do with Siazach", I said.

"Continue", he said.

"I placed master Otani's card", I said, "when I did, I was walking back to my room and had just closed my eyes when I was transported to a sea of white, the most pure white you've ever seen. Siazach was there and he'd gained a full body, nicer robes and the chains on his wrists were almost gone. He told me that the curse was lifted, but all it would do was allow me to kill myself, that I wouldn't become human again. He also showed me a glimpse into the future."

Tyranny stayed silent for a moment.

"And what did you see?", he asked.

"A scorched, contaminated planet", I said, "red skies, black sand and dirt and humans and dragons doing slave labor for him, he was now the ruler of everyone. Tyranny...he...executed your son."

Tyranny looked at me like I was nuts.

"He did did he?", Tyranny asked.

I nodded.

"How?", he asked, "I'm mateless..."

"I wouldn't know", I said, "regardless, he said that the entire planet, within the month, would know the pain he suffered before death at the hands of Eastern Dragon Bounty Hunters....and that I would help him."

Tyranny sighed.

"What?", I asked.

He looked at me.

"You....you knew!?", I asked, "you knew this would happen like this all along didn't you!?"

He nodded, "when your best friend guards a book that knows the past, present and future, he tells you shit. He'd been speaking for a while of a female dragon who would set the Earth on the course to destruction, through no fault of her own, but would realize what was going on and send Siazach back to the depths from which he came."

I sighed, "and...you think I'm that dragon?"

He nodded, "yeah...I do."

Neither of us said anything for the longest time.

"Can I say something stupid?", Tyranny asked.

I sighed, "sure, not like anything else is going right."

Tyranny looked at me, "never mind then."

"No", I told him, "say what you got to say."

"No it's stupid", Tyranny said.,

"Say what you need to say", I answered.

"Why is this so important?", Tyranny asked, "it was a stupid thought that popped into my head and found it's way past my muzzle. It wasn't important."

"If it wasn't important then say it", I told him.

"Oh for the...", he said, "I'm in love with you! Happy!?"

I felt my eyes widen.

"Oh crap", he sighed.

"I...you...you what?", I asked.

"I'm in love with you", Tyranny said, "I've been crushing over you since the day you showed up. I've tried to ask you out more than a few times, but couldn't work up to it."

I just looked at him.

"See?", he said, "it was stupid."

I took a deep breath and looked at him.

"Actually", I said, "it wasn't."

He looked at me, seeming shocked.

"Why wasn't it?", he asked.

"Because....", I said, "I...I kind of feel the same way."

Tyranny looked at me, I'd never seen anyone looking more confused or surprised in my life. The way he looked was the way I felt. I looked at him for a few minutes before he pulled me into a kiss. 28 years old and this was my first kiss. It felt...unreal. I enjoyed it so much I didn't want it to end. After what seemed like forever, but was probably only about 50 seconds, Tyranny pulled away from me. I saw his cheeks go red. I smiled.

"I'll be honest", I said quietly, "for a long time, I was sure I was gonna be one of those people who thought they didn't need someone else to be happy, or maybe I was one of those people who wanted someone else, but was certain they didn't exist. Well guess what? I just found him."

I could see Tyranny's cheeks turn crimson red as he breathed a heavy sigh, "wow."

I smiled as he moved so our bodies were touching, "I kinda feel the same way", he whispered, "I guess I was just to shy to say anything."

I smiled and pulled him into another kiss. This one went on, and on, and on. It was like nothing I had ever experienced, I never wanted it to end. It must have been the five minute mark or so when I found myself on my back, Tyranny was on top of me, looking me right in the eyes. His shirt had come off. It took me about two seconds to piece together what was happening. I felt my mind click off and instinct kick in as everything went blank.

When I came to, more or less. Tyranny and I were stomach to stomach on our sides. We were both panting and shaking heavily and our wings were limp at our sides. A mixture of our scents drifted through the room, causing me to smile. We had marked each other as mated. I was his, and he was mine. It was eternal, a bond that could never be broken. On top of that, I don't think I'd ever felt anything like that before.

"That was amazing", I smiled through my pants.

"Your telling me?", Tyranny smiled licking me between my horns. I purred at his affection and snuggled up against him, curling into a ball as he lay over me.

"Goodnight my mate", Tyranny whispered.

I smiled, "I'm gonna have to get used to that. Goodnight my boy."

It wasn't another two minutes before I too tired to stay awake and fell asleep.
