After turning on her turn signal, Lin pulled into the library and found a parking spot near the door. She putted the car into park and killed the engine before unlocking the doors for everyone to get out. Still upset, she avoided eye contact with Eva as much as possible as they all closed the doors, turning to walk into the three-story building.

Lin pressed the auto-lock on the key-ring, she walked beside Yasmin and wrapped, her tail gently around her mate's. "Yasmin, you alright?" Lin asked in a quiet hushed voice as they walked ahead of Eva.

"Yeah I guess," Yasmin said as they walked up the front steps. "I'm just thinking about Eva right now."

"I figured," Lin sighed as she cast her gaze down to the ground. They continued up the short steps, letting the automatic doors slide open first before they entered into the warm library. Lin nervously bit her lip, tugging at her hood to make sure her horns were covered over before they ventured towards the human receptionist.

As they approached, the fair skinned human looked up from her computer and smiled at the two approaching morphs. "Hello, welcome. How may I help you ladies today?" she asked in a soft voice, looking between Yasmin and Lin.

"Uh, y-yes, by any chance would you have any books on dragon culture?" Lin meekly asked, hoping the woman couldn't see her horns.

Humming, the receptionist turned to her computer, typing into a search engine to look up if there was any books in. "Ah, yes you're in luck. There are books on draconic history, culture, and a nice cookbook for them as well. What would you need?"

"U-uh... culture, I suppose," Lin answered.

Nodding her head, the receptionist typed something into the computer and printed it onto a small card, handing it to Lin. "It's on the second floor in the far back. Good luck with your studies."

Lin nodded her head towards the receptionist, thanking her before she and Yasmin walked of towards the elevator, Eva still trailing behind them. The wait and ride up were both in pure silence as any of the females couldn't muster to say anything that wouldn't lead to any trouble. They reached up to the second floor, Lin led the other two females towards the section where the book was listed. After a quick search, Lin found the book and brought it over to a table where she could sit and read.

As Lin sat down, Yasmin sat down right beside her and Eva took a sit right across from the two lovebirds. "Wait, what time is it?" Yasmin thought aloud before looking around for a clock. 'Is that clock right?' Yasmin asked herself as the clock read almost a quarter past ten. 'I sweared it would have been later than this.'

"Huh?" Lin looked up towards the same clock, seeing the time she sighed. "Still too early to call him. Figures. Ah, forget it, it never hurts to do some reading anyway. Sorry that this is boring Yasmin," Lin said with a small frown. She had wished this to go a lot better than it had, but she wasn't going to let that, nor Eva's sudden appearance ruin their day.

"Don't worry about it, we've always found a way to deal with boredom," Yasmin said. "At least with everything that happen I'm still keeping my promise. I wonder what treat I'll get if I make it the whole weekend."

Lin blushed from the lustful undertone in Yasmin's voice, making her shivered slightly. "Great, I turned you into an exhibitionist," she giggled as her tail wrapped around her body, the flame turning a warm pink hue. "Alright, you just chill, I have a feeling I know where to look. So we won't be here too long."

"I hope so, Lin," Yasmin said rested her head besides Lin's. After a few minutes of reading Yasmin just glanced up from the book only to notice that Eva was missing. "Damn that cat, I freaking put a bell on her and she still can disappear without me hearing her."

Hearing Yasmin, Lin also looked from the book to find that Eva was no longer sitting in the chair across from them. "Hm, she didn't even push in the chair, rude. But eh, how far can she really get on foot? And if she isn't here, that's just one thing less to worry about." She merely shrugged, turning back to her reading and not caring weather Eva had bailed or not. Though, she'll definitely have some explaining to do when she does show up again.

Yasmin sighed heavily before moving out from Lin's tail and getting up out her seat. "I'm going to look for her." Yasmin turn to walk but was stopped by Lin holding her wrist.

"Do you really have to?" Lin asked, looking up into Yasmin's purple eyes. "Hasn't she already caused enough trouble as is? Sides, no doubt whatever she's up to can't be too much trouble. So stay?"

"Lin, she might be my guard and a pain in the ass sometimes, but she also my friend. I can't in good conscious leave her alone like that."

Sighing, Lin nodded her head as she reluctantly let Yasmin's hand go, dropping it to the wooden table. "Alright Yasmin, you do what you need to do. I'll just be here, heh, studying," Lin said, putting up a small smile towards Yasmin. She was happy that Yasmin wasn't able to stay, it showed that she was loyal to the end.

"Heh thanks," Yasmin said, giving Lin a kiss on her muzzle. "I'll be back soon," she said walking around the bookcase. 'I hope Lin won't be mad at me. But, they need to work this out.'

After watching Yasmin disappear behind a bookcase, Lin slowly turned her attention down to the book and began reading the next paragraph she was on. However, a few lines later, something felt... off. She blinked a couple of times, looking up from her book and looking around. "Huh, almost feels like someone is-"

Before Lin could finish what she was saying, Eva reappear at the table in a soft orange glow. "Watching you?" Eva rhetorically asked, resting her head on her hands.

"Ah!" Lin shouted in surprise. She quickly whipped her head towards the source of the voice, seeing that the missing tabby was sitting in the same spot she was before. Sighing, Lin eased her shoulders before huffing. "So you never left did you Miss Ghost-kitty?" she asked, turning her attention back to the large book.

"Keep your voice down we're at a library. And no, I didn't."

"Thank you Captain Obvious," Lin grumbled as she kept to her read, trying to stay focus so she could finish faster. However, the book didn't hold any different information than one her mother had sent her at the beginning of the weekend. The only noteworthy difference was that Lin could find was that it went into further detail than the other book. She sighed in frustration, glancing through until she found something that seemed to be of better use.

"Lieutenant Obvious," Eva mumbled as she looking away from Lin.

Meanwhile, Yasmin hid behind a bookshelf, peering around the corner to Eva and Lin. She knew Eva had used her invisibility spell again. Why, she didn't know nor cared. Despite how she acted in the car, Eva was a close friend and Lin was her girlfriend. As played out as movies have it, Yasmin did need for them to start seeing eye to eye. Otherwise, Yasmin could kiss the States and her freedom goodbye. "Well this is going nowhere fast," she mumbled to herself, sighing as she turned around, her hand clenching at her side. "C'mon guys, you need to at least talk to each other."

Paragraph after paragraph continued to yield no new insight for Lin as she continued to drily read. Her boredom started to become so prominent that she started skipping over to the fire-breathing section of the book and began messing around with different techniques that it depicted. Lin played around with how her tongue was shaped as she breath a small whip of pink and purple flames, noting the difference that came out each time. She soon gotten used to the different techniques that she started puffing out small rings of smoke that faded the moment they ran into a bookshelf or the wall.

After having her fun, she turned back to the book, now thoroughly reading through the fire-breathing section. "Yasmin sure is taking her sweet time to get back," she muttered, her tail lightly beating on Yasmin's chair. Lin sighed before looking up towards Eva, who had a bored expression on her face as she stared down at her fingernails. "And she left to go looking for you too. Said that you two were friends."

"Yeah, we -" Eva started but stopped. "Well, we 'were' friends. At least until she didn't need me anymore," she sadly said before she looking up to Lin and smiling nervously. "So, how's Yasmin been treating you?"

'Ok now they're talking,' Yasmin thought hopefully

"Wonderful actually. I mean, considering that we were friends before everything happened, it's kinda a given how we would treat each other. And to be honest, I'm lucky to have her. Especially since she's been so willing to deal with this," Lin said as she lifted up her fiery tail and waved towards it, sighing. "I don't know what I would've done by now if we hadn't become friends. And I don't ever want to lose her. That's why it's important I get this whole thing under control fast." She sighed again, glaring down at the book. "You said it yourself, I'm the biggest threat to Yasmin right now. So I have to get this worked out before something like yesterday happens."

Eva slightly flinched as she hears the sting in Lin's words. "Okay, maybe I could have picked my words more carefully." Lin gave her a deadpan stare that just read 'Ya don't say?'. "Alright, alright, sorry. I really should have picked my words better but what I said about you being a threat to her is true. You and I both know that yesterday could've ended a lot worse. I was sent here with her to keep her from doing dumb things, so how do you think I feel when there's suddenly a fire spewing half-breed living with her?"

"I'm working on that if you couldn't tell," Lin retorted, snorting a shot of smoke at Eva as her hood fell back, revealing her horns. Eva eyes widened at the sight of the two nubs, blinking in shock. Lin realized what Eva was staring at and quickly put her hood back on, turning her head away from the cat. "It's hard enough that my own mother can't be of any help when I need her. I don't need you reminding me how much danger I can put Yasmin in."

Eva fell silent after hearing the sadness in Lin's tone. She sighed and dropped her head in shame. This was the second time she misjudged Lin's character, and from the looks of thing, really hurt her feelings. "My... My apologizes then," Eva said, sighing. She noticed Lin's furrowed brow, leading her to clarify. "But now it different, I was...wrong to say that. You really care about Yasmin don't you?"

"Yes I do." Lin took a short breath, her head reaching up to her chest and grabbing at the spot where she could feel her heart beating strong. "Believe me or not, but I made a promise to myself that if ever we'd became close friends that I'd do anything to keep that friendship. Well, a few months ago, I broke that promise. And I haven't regretted it since then." She started smiling, a warm feeling growing in her chest that filled her with renewed vigor. "So that's why I was so snappy at you in the car. Sorry about that by the way."

"D-don't worry about it." Eva said dismissively, "I guess I deserved that. But you haven't really broken your promise. You still have your friendship, it's just more intimate." she said as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Heh, right, intimate." Lin giggled briefly before glancing down to the book. 'Ah to the hell with it.' "What about you?" she asked, looking up to Eva and seeing her play with her light-purple hair. "Yasmin said you two are friends, but you don't seem to get along quite well. How does that work?"

"That Lin is how a 'frenemy' relationship works." Eva said sit back up. "I don't get it either but it always been like that." 'Ever since I was named her guard...' Eva solemnly thought that last part to herself.

Yasmin's smile faltered when she heard Eva. 'No it hasn't Eva. It slowly changed to that after my parents named you my personal guard. If that hadn't happened... Guh, why can't they see that I'm not their little girl anymore?' Yasmin sighed, pressing her head against the bookshelf, thinking back to the days of her youth She smiled sadly as she remembered a time she and Eva played around with each other in the courtyard and snuck out of the castle. 'You had to join the guard, didn't you Eva? Ever since then... it felt like you've been drifting further away from me. I kinda wish you would actually try pulling a prank, at least then I would know you were still remembered.'

"Oh come on, there's no way I'm gonna believe that," Lin said with a faint laugh. She tapped the page she was reading on with her finger as her eyebrow arched slightly at the tabby. "There is no way the two of you been 'frenemies' for as long as you met. Especially not with the way Yasmin was concerned about you."

"Mmhmm," Eva shrugged her shoulders, doing her best to seem not surprised. "That's Yasmin for you always the caring type. She'll be concerned about all the people in her life. She's a... I guess I would say Saint, but she did leave you tied up so she could play video games," Eva said with a chuckle.

Lin's eye twitched faintly as she huffed out some smoke through her nose. "Uh-huh... mind not bringing that up again, Eva?" The tabby held up her hands and quickly nodded her head, reminding herself not to get on Lin's bad side. Once she calmed down, Lin thought about what Eva said. "So... question. If you're Yasmin's guard, how come I've never seen you around? I mean, I've been living with Yasmin for months now, but this is the first time I've seen and heard about you.

"I'm sure she told you this already but Yasmin came here to the States to get away from her duties as a princess. If her father had it his way, she be married to a prince by now," Eva said honestly with a slight sad tone. "You didn't know until she told you. It was because of the friendship you guys had she decided to tell you. I can remember times I've tail her and she kept mumbling to herself that she has to tell you. Seeing the way, she was in I decided to give her that space, but continued to shadow over her to make sure no one messed with her. And of course I had to keep her parents updated on her life since she 'forgets' to write to them."

Lin's face changes to mild shock when she remembered that it was looked down upon for royalty to be matted with commoners. But before Lin could ask a question Eva cut her off. "Yes they know about you, but not about how your relationship is now. I'll let Yasmin handle giving that frag to her parents," Eva said, chuckling while Lin was biting down on her bottom lip. "Don't worry, Yasmin had always been good at convincing her parents about stuff. How else do you think she was able to come here with just me?"

"You're a real piece of work Eva. A real piece of work,"' Yasmin said, dragging a hand down her face. She took a moment to think about what Eva had said. She hadn't been that distant has she? 'Let's see... I got here to the States about two and half years ago. And the last time I've even talked to them was... Shit.' Yasmin quietly groaned as she leaned against the bookshelf, coming to the realization that she had done everything to separate herself from her parents and inadvertently missed several important dates. Yasmin started down at the ground, sighing sadly. 'Maybe I should call? I doubt I can keep my relationship with Lin a secret forever. Great.'

"But, at least her parent is understanding so they 'might' not disown her. She is their only child and daughter," Eva said, looking at Lin. The half-breed's faced quickly paled - paler than her white fur - as she seemed to not like the idea. She tried to speak but her mouth kept opening and closing but couldn't manage to say anything.

Eva giggled softly. "You should see that look on your face," she teased as Lin pouted and snorted out some embers. "Relax I'm joking but like I said before, her parents are understanding. So, at most all you have to deal with is them being a bit miffed about your relationship for a while but they'll come around... sooner or later."

"Well I hope it's sooner than later. I don't want to be the case of any trouble between Yasmin and her family," Lin sighed, rubbing her eyes. She slouched in her seat and began tapping her fingers in rhythm on a page in the book. Thinking back to when Yasmin eventually told her about her princesshood, Lin should've known there be some kind of friction that'd be caused. She only took comfort in the fact that they would be understanding... hopefully.

"Fine if you say so. I'm still going to have to talk to Yasmin about it later when I have the time," Lin said after a moment of thought. Her head slipped into the palm of her hand, her eyes closing for a moment. "Guh, great. I'm getting hungry again. What time is it Eva?"

"It's quarter to eleven," Eva said looking at the clock. "You know, you really can pack food away." Eva said absentmindedly. "I meant that in a good way," she quickly added, hoping that no damage was done.

"Right," Lin dryly said as she snorted out a few embers. If she was being honest, she wasn't all too hungry. But there was that ping of tightness growing inside of her stomach and instincts were telling her that it was hunger despite having ate an hour or so ago. "Mm, where is that hound? I might as well just check this book out if it's this thick."

Without missing a beat, Eva said with a straight face, "That's what she said."

Lin deadpanned, faintly staring at Eva with one of her eyes. "You know, for a royal guard, you're pretty immature." She groaned, getting her head out of her hand and stretching for a bit. "Anyway, my point stands. There's no way that I'm going to get anything out of this if we stay here. Eva, you think you can go looking for her while I see if I can check this book out?"

"Fine I'll go looking for her," Eva said as she started to get up from the table. "Oh you should take one of the other books with you just in case, you'll never know it will come in handy," Eva suggested as she walked away.

Still sitting at the desk, Lin watched Eva walk of for a moment before she turned back to the book. More specifically, where her hand was covering. She mused the text for a while, wondering if it would be possible for her biology to digest metal or any precious minerals. However, she waved the notion off. She may be part dragon, but there was no way she would be able to that.

'But if that's the case, Mother's diet is expensive,' she giggled to herself before getting up to go search for the other book on dragon culture.

'I guess now's my time to talk to Eva,' Yasmin thought as she saw Eva walk around the bookshelf. "Psst, Eva?" she called out, trying to stop Eva from walking pass. Yasmin quickly walked down the aisle to catch up with Eva. But as soon as turned the corner Eva was there leaning up against the bookcase, startling her. She had her hand over heart as she tried to lower down her heartrate. Eva had a pleased smirk on her face as she looked at Yasmin. "I hate it when you do things like that."

"And I hate it when you try to act like a psychologist," Eva said as she stared at Yasmin with a rather dry expression.

"Heh heh," Yasmin chuckled nervously under Eva gaze. She rubbed the back of her head as she averted her eyes away from Eva's, hoping that the tabby wasn't too mad. "So, um, you and Lin managed to work things out?"

"Yes, we did Dr. Phil." Eva sighed from Yasmin's sheepish expression on her face.

"Aw c'mon on, you got to admit that you didn't mind talking with Lin and clearing all that up, now did you?" Yasmin retorted with a small laugh as she rubbed the back of her head.

However, Eva's flat expression hadn't change as she continued to leer at Yasmin. "Now how about we play role-reverse?"

Yasmin cocked her head to the side curiously trying to see where Eva was going with it. "Um, ok I guess? So what do want to meddle in then?"

"I want to know why you trying to abandon it all," Eva said, a slight demanding tone underlined her voice. Her arms crossed under her chest as she stared blankly at Yasmin. "You want to live a normal life, I get that. What I don't get is why you'd do everything in your power to separate yourself from your family. I mean, do you know how worry your parents are? They ask about you every day, so much so that I had troubles keeping up with the daily reports."

Eva paused, taking a slow breath to calm herself before she continued speaking. "Don't you even care anymore? They are your parents. Don't even think about the fact that they are king and queen. They are worried about their 'precious pup.' So how hard is it to send them a letter, an email or just to call them?"

Yasmin looked away from Eva as her ears slayed back. "That why I wanted to talk to you," she said, rubbing her arm. "When you were talking with Lin about how I acted after I left, you're right I did basically abandon them, the kingdom and my only friend. And she came after me, watching my back for more than two years. While I tried to do everything to forget about it." Yasmin sighed for a moment, looking down to the ground before looking up at Eva apologetically. "You know... I hadn't given it a second thought. Going back. I don't think I want to leave the States anymore."

"Why? You had everything back at the palace. So wh-"

That's exactly why Eva," Yasmin interrupted, gripping her arms she looked away. "I don't want that. It's fun, but everyone is expecting so much from me - the 'glory child.'" She sighed, shoulders slumping as she looked up from the ground. "I'm not like you Eva. I just can't follow in my parents' footsteps. Hell, I hadn't even thought about becoming Queen. And yes, I know that's going to be an issue with Lin being my girlfriend."

"You don't say?" Eva said as she placed her hands on her hips. "She'll have to be knighted by your father if you want your marriage to count with them because I know Lin does not make enough to buy her way into nobility."

"I know, I know... See, that's another thing you have on me," Yasmin weakly laughed to herself. "Heh, my best friend... She tried to confront me after all that time and I just ran away with my tail between my legs. But, just like before she followed me. She got into a fight with my girlfriend, which she lost by the way," Yasmin chucked, causing a blush to come on Eva's face as she looked away. "Even after all that she still had to give me the biggest reality check I needed. She made me realize how bad I made my worried them and how I taken everything for granted." Her eyes starting to tear up but he held in her tears. She did everything to choke them back, however, it was too much. "I want you to know that I'm sorry for how I left and for how I acted too. You're right I am acting like a brat and now I want to change that. I-I want to know how much did I miss, Eva. I need to know."

"You want to know? You really want to know after two years of trying to hide it, of trying to run away from it." Eva laughed, somewhat hollowly. She looked away from the sobbing princess, steeling herself as she got ready to say what need to be said. "Well alright. One - you missed two years of people's birthdays. Two - you missed two years worth of anniversaries. Three - I'm not even going to count everything less." She sighed, keeping her dry tone. "But what I want to know, what I need to know is, why? Why run away from it? Why act like you were ashamed of your bloodline? Your girlfriend as good reason to, but do you see her running away from it?"

"I didn't mean to run away from it all, ok?" Yasmin sighed, "When I ran from you earlier, I thought you we're going to get me back for the...uh...brownie." She softly said as she looked at her paws, while playing with her thumbs. "But, I'm not ashamed of my family at all. I love them dearly, it's just that when I came to the States, I didn't have to worry about anything. I didn't have to worry about what proper for a princess to wear, what a princess had to eat, what unbecoming of a princess. You of all people should know how I felt."

Yasmin paused, taking a short breath as she looked towards Eva pleadingly. "Remember the times we snuck out the palaces? When it was just the two of us going out around the kingdoms. When we were in my father's home kingdom we went out for drives, to the movies, shopping even took me to a couple auto shows. Same in my mother's' too. You're the one who gave me a bit more freedom than what I had before and when I got to the states I let it get to my head and for that I'm sorry Eva I really am."

Eva stared at Yasmin, sighing as she finally gave into the comforting memories of the past. "When a caged bird gets a taste of her freedom, she would never want to let it go. My mother said that about you all the time when we were growing up," Eva said as she slowly stepped towards Yasmin, smiling. "Alright Yasmin, I'll let you keep your freedom. But you have to promise me that you will get in contact with your parents. I mean, it was you that made the deal with them in the first place. Oh and I have something for you."

Yasmin smiled from ear to ear as her tail wagged happily behind her. "Yeah, I promise. Oh, what is it?"

Eva curled her fingers and tapped her knuckles on Yasmin's forehead, causing the princess to wince. "That's for slipping me that wonderfully delicious brownie. Your lucky no one else knows about it," she said, crossing her arms with a small huff and smile. "By the way, Lin is looking for you. She's ready to go."

"Well, catnip is a feline's best friend," Yasmin said grinning. "Well then let's go, vamonos."

"Yeah, yeah. Don't have to go ordering me around, princess," Eva said as she moved away from the section of books, leading Yasmin to the elevator.

Yasmin followed right behind her. After taking the elevator down to the ground floor and a few minutes of walked they caught up with Lin at the checkout desk.

Lin turned around from the librarian, sighing as she lifted the two, gritty books up. "Geez, there you two are," she complained as her stomach growled in anger, forcing one out of her. "Let's get going already, feels like I can eat a living horse at this point." Over in the distance, a stallion carrying a stack of books immediately turned on his heel and walked the other direction, causing Lin to blush and giggle.

"Alright, alright we'll hit up a drive-thru on the way home," Yasmin said as she took the car keys from Lin. "Will that make you happy Lin?"

As they made their way out the library, Yasmin started to look back on how crazy the past few hours have been. 'Sex in the kitchen, had a delicious breakfast, and my girlfriend grew horns.' She thought as put her arm around Lin and kissed her forehead 'My guard/childhood friend popped back to my life.' Yasmin looked over to Eva who had a small smile graced her muzzle. 'Had a mini action movie scene, watched said childhood friend get pwn'd by my girlfriend, Eva gave me the biggest reality check I needed, and she too not mad about the brownie. All in all, I guess today was a good day.' She unlocked the car doors. Eva climbed into the backseat and Lin sat shotgun. She shifts the car into drive and started up the car, driving out of the parking lot and back on the service streets.
