Chapter 7

I was gobsmacked, the entire shopping centre was stunning. Alternating black and white stone tiles adorned the floor. Just ahead of us was a glorious water fountain, with a golden pilar in the centre. There were little angels pouring the water out of jugs on the very top. I looked around. On the ground floor, there were some extremely well know brands. I saw an apple shop further down the hall, a Target and a American Apparel. There were two very sleek looking escalators along either wall, ferrying dull looking people up and down. I realised just how funny I probably looked, staring wide eyed, jaw hung wide open. I tried to pull myself together, but every corner I took, I stood staring in disbelief. When we initially started our way through the store, Jeremy let me look in the shops and allowed me to take it all in; but, he quickly got bored of me taking so long. That is why he decided to grab my hand, I was unsure why at first, but I worked out that he was doing it so he can drag me. We made our way to Bed, Bath & Table, one of the main department store they had. Jeremy was going to grab a trolley, but stood staring at me. I looked down and saw I was still grabbing onto his hand. "Oops, sorry about that!" I exclaimed feeling flush.

"Ahh no problem." Jeremy replied shrugging it off. "I was actually starting to enjoy it."

That helped to relax me and I smiled fondly at him. We went down aisle after aisle. I lingered around the Lego sets, for longer than should be acceptable for a eighteen year old. We got towels and mats for the bathroom; enough food in case of an emergency, as we aim to got to the canteen more. I also got a few Lego toys as well, because why not. After that we went over to the game section and pondered over what we should get. "I know it's got a shit story, but Black Ops has Zombies!" Jeremy pleaded.

"Yeh, Halo we can do Co Op and enjoy a STORY!" I responded defensively. "Also..."

I was quickly shut up by Jeremy kissing me hard and passionately. My defences were torn down and I caved, "Okay, you can get Black Ops."

"Ha, I can't wait until I can use sex as a weapon." Jeremy mentioned causing me to blurt out laughing, that resulted in a few people turning their heads in our direction and gave us some funny look.

We left the shop. We walked past a small Italian restaurant. My stomach rumbled louder than I would of thought possible. 'God, I could go for some food right now!' I thought to myself. I saw Jeremy looking at me with a grin plastered on his face. "Hungry?" he asked, already knowing my answer.

"Yeh, you don't mind do you?" I responded sheepishly.

"No, not at all! In fact, I was starting to get hungry myself." Jeremy replied as he led me inside.

"Hello, how can I help you today?" asked a tall panda stood behind a wooden stand.

"Table for two." Jeremy answered, taking lead.

"Right this way gentlemen!" the man led us to a booth by a window looking at a park.

I couldn't help myself from thinking how nice today was going, we were having fun. We were playing about like we've known each other for our entire lives. Now, we were on a date. I was drawn from my thoughts by Jeremy clicking his fingers in front of my face. "That's the second time today I've drawn you from your thoughts!" exclaimed Jeremy with an expression of concern on his face. "Okay, what's troubling you?"

I started to panic a bit, 'Ok, it's a bit soon to state that I'm head over heels in love with him. How the hell am I going to explain this?' I sat there awkwardly stuttering trying to give myself time to think up an excuse. "Well, I... err..."

"Are you ready to order." asked a waiter, obviously not happy to be there.

"Yes, can I have the..." I was quickly interrupted.

"Actually, can you give us a few more minutes?" Jeremy asked, well it would be better to say he demanded.

"What ever!" exclaimed the waiter as he walked off.

"So what's up with you today?" Jeremy asked for the second time today.

"Well... you see... politics... history..." I nonsensically mumbled.

"You don't have to hide anything from me." Jeremy said, it pulled on my heart strings and I just deflated.

"Well, I really like you and I can't help but place you in all of these locations, like on a farm together or a log cabin. I think I love you." I sank in my seat immediately, believing that I had just destroyed one of the greatest friendships I had, had since Rick.

"I think I love you too." I sat up in my seat immediately, a grin spread from ear to ear. "I can't explain it, I just connect with you, unlike with anyone I have ever known."

I grabbed Jeremy's hand on the table, just as the waiter returned. We ordered a pizza and some spaghetti and meatballs to share. The pizza arrived first and we dug in. We were hit with Pesto and Garlic mixed in with the cheese. The sauce was very tangy and complemented the ground beef on top really well. The sweetness of the sauce also contrasted well with the smokiness of the onions and peppers which adorned the top. But, all of this did not diminish the hunger that we both felt. Our Spaghetti and Meatballs arrived twenty minutes later, we dug in. Part way through, we found ourselves eating the same piece of Spaghetti, (oddly reminiscent of Lady and the Tramp.) After eating that until we kissed, we couldn't help but play with our food. Jeremy even rolled a meatball over the plate for me, by pushing it with his muzzle.

After finishing our meal, we headed back to my car. I learnt that day, just how easily I got distracted. I smelt a really nice smelling scent of coffee. I followed the smell, and Jeremy followed me so I wouldn't get lost. It led to a small little Mom and Pop cafe. I was kind of shocked at who I saw in the window. There Helen was sat with Mellany, they hadn't spotted us, so I devised a plan. Both Jeremy and I bought Mellany and Helen a drink, to try and get them to wonder who's hitting on them. "Excuse me miss, two fine gentlemen bought you these." announced the waiter who we had payed.

"Ohh my god, I can't believe it. Who do you think ordered them." Mellany squealed with excitement.

"Oooh, I bet they're hot." exclaimed Helen.

"You could say that!" I remarked with a shit eating grin spread across my face, I felt like a kid making his first prank call.

Jeremy and I stayed a while and chatted with the girls, but eventually we parted and head on back to the campus. It was a quick drive, where we asked each other would you rather questions. We got back to the campus completely beat. It only took us two trips to get all the stuff we bought. Once back in our room, I put an ice pack on my leg and rested it. Jeremy cooked us up some jiffy pop and we settled on watching a film, not just any film though, A Serbian Film. After it was finished, we curled up together and fell asleep on the sofa.

'God I'm lucky!' I couldn't help but think to myself. I quickly fell asleep.
