I felt like shit the whole ride home. I awoke the next day with a throbbing headache, and it was all from the numerous problems that were recently occurring. First was a great numerous confusion throughout the whole ship, Cougar's disturbing broadcast had brought wonder and more questions to his strategy and what he hopes to accomplish. More than likely, panic was presumed to happen amongst the citizens, and I was more than convinced that I was the center of the whole problem.

‘I'm not surprised either, he even spoke to me directly near the end of the broadcast,' I thought as I just lay there on the bed. The next thought that came into mind was about Angulo, who was currently in the training room last time I saw him. Somehow, it was just impossible to believe that he was really dead. He can walk, talk, and run out of breath. Last time I remember dead people didn't do any of that stuff. If what he said about himself was true, than he could be the true charades champion.

‘And Draxor saw the whole ordeal and made the statement,' I thought again, ‘Angulo spoke very casually with him as well, either he's very calm or there's some kind of connection to the matter.' I slowly dismissed that thought as my hunger took over, like a little orange monster who could get me to eat anything. Due to my splitting headache, I didn't feel like getting up, so I called up ROB64 for some room service, and some medication. It only took the machine a few minutes to arrive. I heard him come in.

"Here's what you requested Mr. Lewis," he spoke as I took the food and meds from him. I thanked him after and sent him on his way. As I ate I slowly put my thoughts on the backshelf. I knew for sure that all I wanted to concentrate on at the moment was eating and getting rid of this damn headache. Trust me it was easier said than done, but I somehow managed to drift myself off to sleep.

Absolutely everyone on the Great Fox was getting very worried about Ryan's well being. But none of them could possibly get any more worried about him than Slippy Toad. He spent much of his time in the hangar bay, working on fixing up and upgrading his team's ships. He took a lot pride in his abilities as team mechanic, traits that were passed down to him by his father. He was busy working on Ryan's Arwing as his thoughts were concentrated on him. Ryan would sometimes work with Slippy long after his lessons for the academic test. From this, Ryan was able to pick up more knowledge from him, although Robert and Kenji were convincing enough to have taught Ryan a few things, especially about his motorcycle. After passing Slippy's regular inspection, Slippy went to check out Ryan's motorcycle which was resting near the far wall of the hangar.

‘Kenji and Robert certainly did a top notch job on the thing,' Slippy commented in his head. He certainly admired the work of art. He gazed along the entirety of the sleek black machine. It was strong and durable and yet built for speed and great handling. It was perfect for speed racing and even combat. Slippy took a second to picture the human spinning around on the beauty and swinging his sword accurately against the pathetic enemies.

‘Hm... The more I think about him, the more I feel like I better go check on him.' With this thought he quickly wrapped up his inspections and made way for the elevator.

Peppy Hare set his book down on his desk without even opening it, he just didn't feel like reacting, nor could he get his thoughts in order to even look at the book.

"Oi Vey," He sighed aloud, "what in the world am I going to do? Am I getting too old for this?" With this phrase Peppy looked back into the days of his prime. When he first walked onto the job with his leader James McCloud at his side. He remembered the father of Fox like it was yesterday. He especially remembered the day that he and James were betrayed by the biggest stigma of their past, Pigma Dengar. The pig who led them into an ambush of Andross and caused James's disappearance, then later joined Star Wolf in an attempt to kill the new Star Fox. The pig had a rap sheet as big as his greed for money was. Peppy soon put the thoughts of Pigma behind him, fully convinced that Pigma was most certainly dead.

‘What's more important is Ryan,' Peppy thought on again, ‘right now he's caught at the center of everything. That's more than anyone his age should endure.' Peppy continued his thoughts on Ryan for a while. Peppy could tell all the changes that occurred to Ryan in the short few months since his appearance. His slim figure was now more defined in shape of some muscles, his smooth looking skin had been branded by numerous scars. Scars that could not be hidden, due to Ryan having no fur. Scenes of war, death, and evil had overwritten his innocent eyes. When he first met Ryan he was more than happy to play games and have some relaxing fun. Now, Ryan would only concentrate on work and training. He wouldn't even play chess anymore, and that if anything was a sure sign that something was wrong.

‘That's it, Ryan just needs to relax and have a little loose fun,' Peppy realized and jumped out of the chair of his desk. His chess set was quickly in hand as he was already half way out the door.

Peppy continued down the hallway quick as he could, he didn't have a minute to lose. As he turned to the hall leading towards Ryan's room he spotted someone else.

"Slippy?" The hare blurted out loud. Slippy turned sharply in surprise, putting a silencing finger up to his mouth.

"You might wake him up if he's asleep," Slippy whispered. Peppy walked up to him silently.

"So you're worried about him too huh?" Peppy asked.

"I think everyone's worried about him," he replied, "maybe I was thinking talking to him will help his self esteem a bit."

Both the hare and toad agreed to the idea and quietly knocked on the door. No sound or reply came out of the room, so they tried again, nothing. Peppy raised his hand once more to try again when the door creaked open a little. The two looked at each other for a second before quietly slipping inside. The room was dark so Slippy turned on the lights quietly. Despite Ryan's overwhelmed emotions the room was very well kept and tidy. His uniform was clean and hanging on a post near the restroom. His weapons were clean to a shine and aligned in a row. In fact the only thing out of place was the neatness of the bed, which was still occupied by the sleeping human.

Both Slippy and Peppy noticed this and walked up to get a closer look. The bed sheets only covered his lower body, which meant that his entire top naked half was exposed and showing. Peppy and Slippy were positive he was either in his underwear or completely in the buff, Either way, they grew to like the idea.

‘He's pretty cute,' Peppy thought, ‘Handsome devil at least.'

‘He's pretty hot,' Slippy thought, ‘check out that bod and that hair.' Both of them had begun thinking very naughty thoughts about him. They shortly broke it off not wanting the other, nor especially Ryan, to notice. With a quiet agreement they silently shuffled out and closed the door.

I was awakened by the sound of Fox over the intercom.

"Ryan," Fox said, "we've just entered Corneria's orbit. Please be ready to report to General Pepper in twenty minutes."

"Very Well," I stated slipping out of bed. Physically I felt much better but I was still equally occupied mentally. I was showered and back into my uniform within the time allotted. As I redressed I noticed exactly how much I've changed. From physical and mental changes, to my viewpoints and experiences, my life is certainly different now.

I slowly exited behind the rest of the team, General Pepper looked panicked. That was the first time I ever saw him like that.

"Star Fox, we're in loads of trouble," General Pepper began, "To my office immediately." We were quick to oblige and I noticed Angulo to the side, speaking with both Nordic and Jovey.

"How on Lylat will we be ready for war?" Pepper asked bluntly.

"There are many problems at hand here," Fara began stepping out of her seat in the briefing room, "Although our military is sound there is too much confusion within the civilization. Corneria is beginning to divide into 3 specific groups. The first group is still your full support and support for Corneria Ryan, the second supports Corneria's well being and believes that getting rid of you will solve the problem. The third group hoping they stay extremely small is in support of Claxan and is either terrorizing Corneria directly or breaking away to sneak into their Dawx army."

"We'd have a better chance of reuniting the people if the president's leadership wasn't being challenged," Pepper began, "elections are coming up quickly, and the president is currently in preparation for his attempt at a third term."

"A third term?" I asked curiously with a hand raised, "I thought he only got two terms."

"Corneria's presidency can serve three terms of six years a term," Fox explained. That was good enough for me.

"What can we do then?" Krystal pondered, "If war comes, than we may not survive. We don't even know how large his army is."

"Then we end it now," I said, "right at the source. Cougar said we have 30 days before he attacks. If we find them in time, then we can defeat them before they have time to act," the room was silent.

"That's a very bold statement," Pepper began, "but it just might work. We shall widen our search and pray. You are dismissed Star Fox, oh and Ryan, Nordic wants to speak to you in the training room." We got up and left the briefing. I split from the team running full stead for the training room, where Nordic was in fact standing there, holding a long large black case in his arm.

"Ryan," Nordic said with a smile, "so good to see you. How's your health?"

"Good thanks for asking," I said, "what have you got there?" I pointed at the package and smiled.

"It's a gift for you Ryan," Nordic said, "arranged by Jovey, Angulo, Snow, Krystal, and especially myself. It is to honor the completion of your training."
