Wolf species
Wolves. V1.0 (See my profile description if you have stumbled upon this and wonder what the world this is about.)-
Intro-
Wolf is a generic term for humans who has been genetically altered into a new form. Specifically resembling that of a bipedal wolf. Powerful creatures who are the symbol of Earths conquest by its new owners the Ventaar. As well as their dominance over the Human race as a whole. Wolves are a tall and powerful companion species designed to be placed into the role of slave soldiers but can adapt to nearly every role the within Ventaar society. A massive majority of Wolves are under Ventaar control but a small percentage has managed to break away and thrive. Gaining notice from many established races despite their small numbers.
Physical attributes-
Imposing creatures. The typical male wolf stands seven and a half feet tall. While females stand a foot taller than that. They are powerfully built even without training. The smallest of wolves can throw around most humans with ease. Their fur is patterned after real wolves of all types. Black, varying shades of gray, white, tans, reds and others. Not as long as a real wolfs but often with more variety to fur patterns. Their legs are digigrade and they sport padded wolf like feet. They do have a tail. They stand fully upright. Their hands are highly mobile with padded fingers. Both hands and feet have short canine style claws. Head is like that of a real wolf. With mobile ears and long snout. The Ventaar give their newest creations a full range of vivid eye colors as well.
Sexually a male is equipped with a set of balls and a sheathed penis. The penis is formed similar to a canines which includes a knot. Females have a single set of breasts like their former human selves but often times their active life will leave the breasts small in comparison to their bodies. Only growing in response to oncoming child.
Sense of smell is very acute. On par with earth dogs. Their hearing is more sensitive as well. With a wider range of hearing just like a dogs. Sight is a bit sharper than that of a human but not by much. With a full range of color vision.
Mental disposition-
Wolves are a social people who are open minded and surprisingly clever. As companions to the Ventaar they have been made to serve alien societies and needs. This has the side effect of allowing them to adapt to nearly any alien society even those who are enemies of the Ventaar.
They are very poor liars both because they dislike deceiving others and their body language easily gives a lie away. Even if a wolf practices the art of deception it takes focus to accomplish. Most wolves simply do not bothering trying to lie unless it is absolutely necessary.
Wolves are pack oriented and the more alpha mindsets amongst them tend to gather followers. Typically around five but the number has been as high as nine. An alpha wolf in charge of a pack does not maintain authority by brute force but instead becomes a provider and supporter of the others. Spreading their skills to the others to bring them up towards her level. It is important to remember that wolves are intelligent creatures of strong will. A alpha who is mean or unsupportive would quickly be deposed, lose their followers or more likely never have any followers in the first place.
They are a positive people who are sensitive another's needs. Companions in heart as well as title they naturally feel inclined to aid and help others. Especially those they respect. When troubled a wolf will always receive support from another wolf. Especially an alpha in their pack. They share pain, sorrows, joys and every other emotion freely with each other. To them no one is unimportant. Everyone has potential.
A wolf will judge another's value base on three criteria. Strength of body, mind and heart. Judging not just each other but alien species based on these three criteria. Each of which is equally important to a wolf. This goes along with wolves judging others by actions far more than words. For words mean nothing without action to back them up.
They are an energetic people. Always up for a bit of fun or a bit of a fight. As a warrior species they enjoy training, practicing and testing themselves. Sometimes in the harshest of ways.
This constant testing allows them not only to know their limits but recognize skill in others. Helping establishing a natural pecking order and better perform together in battle.
They love play as well. Movies, games, swimming, running, rough housing and just about anything that seems fun at the moment. Yes, some even play fetch to the delight of their Ventaar handlers. Even more to their delight is this energy translates very well to the bedroom. Where eager wolves of both genders engage in far more passionate play.
Concerning gender the females are the superior to males. If a female and male of equal skill fight the female almost always wins. Their larger size gives them an edge with no noticeable down side to it. They are not slower or less agile in any way, but are tougher and have more endurance than a male. This does not mean a female is will not follow a skilled male alpha. A female wolf is not petty or jealous. They are intelligent, driven and capable. Able to recognize superiority in anyone be it male, female or alien. With incredibly strong will and passions.
Society-
They have not been around long enough to form much society on their own. Picking up most traits from their Ventaar masters. However, certain bands of free wolves have formed their own societal traits which are slowly spreading to the enslaved population. Mostly through watching semi illegal videos spread by the free wolves themselves. Showcasing their exploits and combat abilities.
These traits have manifested in the following ways.
Collars- Packs generally share a collar. Usually custom made by the alpha of a pack. Any wolf joining that pack is normally gifted such a collar as a sign of their devotion to it. Often times these are not simple loops of leather with a buckle but can be fitted with a host of functions. For example a Ventaar made slave collar would lock and be able to shock the wearer.
A wolf who has become a companion to an individual will often wear a collar with a mark or name of that persons choosing. In some cased the collar might even be custom designed just for that person.
In a situation where a wolf is in a pack and also a companion to someone at the same time the collar is dual marked to show the wolfs dual loyalties.
Markings- On top of collars wolves have taken to making patterns in their fur to match those of their pack. These are normally on the head and arms only but sometimes can be in other places. These markings are a simple and easy way for a wolf to tell from a distance who belongs to what pack. The markings tend to be simple but as time is passing they are increasing in complexity.
A wolf without a pack does not have markings save one. The upper jaw and head are colored white or black. Whichever color best contrasts their natural coloration. This is not a action of shame but a easy way for alphas to see who might be available to add to their numbers. Packless wolves who find them selves companions or assigned to an individual remove these markings but apply no others. Wearing their natural fur colors alone.
Hunting- Its become somewhat of a bragging right how many captives a wolf takes. Killing an enemy is easy, getting them back alive is not. So to them brining back captives is worth more for earning respect amongst their peers. War is war and killing must be done, but when opportunity knocks they will capture rather than kill.
Clothing- Wolves shed their sense of nudity along with their human bodies. They are fine walking around without clothing and many do when amongst other wolves. When among other species they wear a set of shorts. Knowing that it might seem rude to do otherwise. Beyond this wolves tend to not care one bit about clothing. "The only clothing I need is my armor." Has become a common saying amongst them. Utilitarian things such as belts or even harness are worn as well. Just so they have places to put things they need to carry in their daily lives.
Rebellious slaves- While slaves the wolves do not just accept this fate without rebellion. As emotional and strong willed creatures they act out, talk back and sometimes act like the savages they resemble. A Ventaar commander addressing wolves cannot be sloppy or he may find a wolf foot placed firmly between his legs. Especially if he is not worthy of respect. Nothing amuses a wolf more than a weeping Ventaar holding their crotch. The wolves are punished for these acts but shock collars and whipping doesn't seem to dull their spirit. Which suits the Ventaar just fine. They want the wolves to be strong and they are.
Other notes-
Chipped- All wolves are chipped after creation. This is no simple tracking device but a brain implant that comes with a host of information that anyone can access with a simple scanner. Medical data, name, status, id number, etc. Beyond that this chip is what gives wolves a great advantage over humans. For when fully activated the wolf has access to, at the very least, the Ventaar language, basic combat skills and understanding and use of common galactic devices. Any other skills must be learned the old fashion way.
Muzzled- A very large demand for authentic earth made canine restraint devices has risen amongst the Ventaar. Its difficult to find anything from earth that will fit a wolf and so both wolves and Ventaar have started finding examples and recreating larger versions of earth made things. It is not uncommon to see a rebellious wolf muzzled and with hands bound at their sides. A undercurrent of bondage demand has come along with this. Resulting in a few Ventaar exclusive clubs with wolf bondage as a theme. This theme has slipped into wolf society with some of the more playful alphas carrying muzzles and other devices with them. Applies to new wolves who they are bringing into the pack as a sort of hazing ritual. A few bold wolves have even carried such devices made for Ventaar. While this is obviously forbidden a wolf who has gained favor from someone of high rank might be allowed to get away with it.
