The first part of an upcoming story that I'm working on. I have a feeling this story is going to take some real twists from what I originally had planned. This has barely been proof read, feel free to point out any issues with it, please. Though, don't be rude! This teaser may not have any real adult content to it, but the story to come is sure to have some! Please let me know what you think!

He was just a lonely mutt, sitting in a bar, drinking alone. What a sight he must have been. It was clear there was a lot weighing on his mind, but yet he brushed off anyone who approached him. Even turning down some rather attractive canines who clearly wanted more than just a drink with him. For someone who looked like he could use some company, he sure wasn't being very friendly. Though, he also wasn't being rude; it just wasn't in his nature.

As he sat there, on his bar stool, he sipped at his drink and was thankful for all the noise around him. He didn't feel quite so alone with the noise, yet he was still battling that feeling of isolation. He knew it was partly his own fault, but he wasn't looking for what most of these women were offering. He only wanted a little companionship; someone to take care of him, if only for a little while.

So lost in thought, he didn't even notice the tigress who was now sitting beside him until she spoke to him and startled him out of his train of thought.

"I hope you don't mind," she began, "If you could just pretend like you know me for a few minutes, I'd really appreciate it."

There was a quiet desperation in her tone, and what looked almost like fear in her bright green eyes. The dog had never seen such emotion in another's eyes before, and he instantly wanted to help her. Maybe it was just the fact that he could never say no to a woman in trouble.

"It's so great to see you!" He said, a little more loudly than was necessary, as he leaned in and gave her a friendly hug. As he pulled her close, he muttered into her ear, "Who are you trying to get away from?"

He pulled back from her before she could actually answer and finally really took in her form. He tried to hide the shocked look on his face as he noticed for the first time that her fur was a lovely shade of slate grey; she was a Maltese. He'd heard stories of Maltese tigers before, but seeing one in person was a completely different matter. It took him a moment to realize that she wasn't wearing any clothes; not something entirely uncommon at this place. Though she had nothing on, her fur perfectly hid her most sensitive parts and she was still completely modest.

"Yes, it's been far too long," she had replied, though he barely heard her. Not because she was speaking too softly, but because he was completely enthralled with studying her appearance. He found himself entranced by her already, and wanting, needing to know more about her.

Just then, a rather large and burly bear came strolling over. He only wore a pair of faded and tattered jeans and, though his fur was shaggy, you could see the rolling muscles on his upper half. A large brown paw landed on the tigress' shoulder and she tried to hide the grimace from her face at his touch.

"I've been looking all over for you, Kenzi," he growled in a voice deeper than the mutt had ever heard before, "It's time to go, I don't like this mongrel drooling all over you like this!"

Before she could say anything, the dog stood up and casually shoved himself between the two, easily pushing that large paw off her tiny shoulder. If he had seen the look on her face, he probably would have simply burst out laughing. She was horrified, probably that she had dragged him into this and now he was likely about to get his tail kicked all over this bar.

The dog wasn't extremely well built, but he was fairly fit. His flopped ears shifted forward a little as he stared up at the bear, who was easily six inches taller than he was. There was no fear in his face, and actually a smile on his lean muzzle. A small chuckle rolled through him, shaking his shoulders slightly.

"I was just about to buy my friend Kenzi here a drink, though," he said, as calmly as ever, "She looks like she needs one, doesn't she?"

The bear let out a low growl, and his body stiffened, "If she needs anything, I'll be the one to provide it." He snapped in retort.

Still, the mutt didn't back down, in fact, he turned and grabbed the tigress' paw and eased her off of her bar stool, "I think he was right," he spoke slowly and softly to her, "It is time that you left this place."

Her eyes widened in fear and she looked up at the bear who towered over her small frame. The dog could feel her whole body begin to tremble and instead of handing her over to the bear, like they had both expected, he tenderly wrapped an arm around her and pulled her up against his side and began to walk out of the bar.

"You think I'd let you walk away that easily with MY tiger?" The bear hissed as he reached out to grab the dog's shoulder. However, the lithe mutt was faster than the brute bear. It was clear to the canine from the beginning that the bear relied on his strength alone, and that had probably worked quite well for him over the years. However, this particular dog was quick and smart to boot.

He spun around and managed to push Kenzi out of the way without hurting her all at the same time. The giant bear missed him and almost fell over with the momentum he had put behind his own action. This stumble was all the dog needed to get the upper hand in this little battle. He got hold of the bear's wrist and spun him around swiftly, pinning his arm up behind his back and shoving him face first into the bar top. The bear's head made a loud banging noise as it hit the solid wood of the bar.

Several of the bar's patrons had turned to look at the pair now, baffled by the sight of the smaller canine getting the better of the massive bear.

"I suggest you leave the lady alone now," he growled softly, in a voice so low and menacing that it was hard to believe it was coming from the mutt who looked like he didn't have a violent bone in his body.

The bear, not used to being bested at his favorite game, was clearly shaken now and he simply nodded his head emphatically and grunted his agreement. The dog shoved his arm upward hard, putting pressure on his elbow and the bear moaned in pain. Then, just like that, he let him go and walked out of the bar with the astonished feline.

The bear didn't follow them.

"You didn't have to do that for me," the tiger whispered as they walked down the almost deserted street, "In fact, you probably shouldn't have..."

He could feel her trembling now, and at this he pulled her close against his side again, wrapping a strong arm around her shoulder, "Don't you worry about me. Let's worry about you. Do you have a safe place to stay tonight?" He continued leading her along, heading towards a more well lit road, "I'd feel better knowing you won't be alone."

The care in his voice startled her more than anything else. Clearly, he meant what he said. Slowly, it dawned on her that she actually had absolutely no where to go that night. She couldn't find her voice to answer him and simply shook her head no.

"You'll come with me, then." He said softly, and gently he stroked her shoulder. It surprised him how protective he felt over this little tiger, but he wasn't about to let anything happen to her now. "Don't worry, I won't try anything. I think you could just use a good nights sleep in a nice warm, safe, bed. You can have mine for the night, for as long as you need."
