Heartless Dragon 5 Love within the War Aurora fired a few shots from her Chain gun, trying to withdraw their enemies but only a few die and those are soon replaced by other behind. It seemed as though they had an infinite army, but it was just that they had a shit load of troops. Wave was healed but she was still out of the fight since her injury had taken a toll on her and now was unconscious. Pyro was busy trying to care for her. It seemed as though his care for her proved that he liked her as much as she liked him. The same went for the others as well as each time, the males would try to protect the females that loved them and they them. This hurt Aurora that she had no one to do that, even though she was firing back and taking cover, she was alone in this. She just prayed that something would help them all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek had just passed the ocean that separated the U.S from the Hellfires. He was determined as night was slowly changing to day and the smell of land was not far. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurora fired off a few more rounds before she quickly she withdrew. They were getting close and all of the military's soldiers were dead or dying. Her team were still alive. She had just wasted all her ammo and now was left defenseless as the only cover they had was a trench that Terra had quickly made. She heard that sounds of Hellfire troops and tanks approaching. She looked up at the sky and saw something coming. It pained her to think that it was a jet and that it had found them. She just closed her eyes and hoped that when they bombed that it would be quickly. But after a few seconds it never came. All she heard was the sound of a jet and the sound of heavy firing. Her and her team looked up to see that the jet was not a jet but a black figure. The black figure was being shot at but it seemed as though it was having little affect towards it. The black figure fired a single rocket and when the team looked out their trench, they saw an entire group of Hellfires blown up. They watched in awe as the black figure landed a couple feet away from them. They all looked at the figure now all saw that it was a black dragon covered in their suit but it seemed more uniquely designed different then their's. They watched as the dragon turned towards them before turning around to see the Hellfires were bringing in tanks. One tank fired at the dragon. Almost in slow motion, everything happened. The black dragon took a small step back and brought out his arm. The missile came fast at him and as it reached him, the black dragon launched his fist against the missile and suddenly exploded violently, causing the team to duck and cover. Once they looked back out, they were staring wide eyed as the black dragon seemed to be untouched. The black dragon was covered in smoke but it quickly dissipated. He looked back at them, checking to see of they were ok. Once he saw they were all fine, in a single leap in the air and landed far in front of the Hellfire tank. He bent down and grabbed the tank from the bottom before he picked it up and brought it over his head. The whole team including the Hellfire troops had their mouths drop as they saw this dragon lift the tank. The black dragon then turned to the Hellfire's and threw the tank at them, causing hundreds of them to be crushed and the tank to exploded. All Hellfire troops were retreating only the tank and copters were left. He stood there as they all approached him. Again he took a step back before he arched his head back a bit and charge a attack from his maw. Everyone watched in amazement as he launched his attack and watched as he obliterated everything. All tanks and helicopters that were touched by the beam that was black and fire in a spiral, suddenly blow up. Everything was set on fire and all of the remaining Hellfire that ran away were all suddenly incinerated. Many got away but thousands were burned. Nothing was left except burned metal and ashes along the floor. The team slowly stepped out of the trench. Pyro carried Wave in his arms. The black dragon turned to them. They looked at hi helmet. It was quite before Aurora stepped out of the group and took of her helmet. She revealed her face and showing a happy yet confused one. "Thank you." she said softly. "You saved our lifes." The black dragon nodded. "Anytime." he said, his voce hidden. Aurora now dropped her smile. "Who are you?" was all she said. The black dragon gave a shine of red eyes through his helmet before he slowly lowered his head. His hands reached up and detached his helmet from his head. Everyone gasped as they saw Derek. He held his helmet to the side and smiled to them. "Hey guys." Aurora was speechless as Derek was the black dragon! He is the one who survived a missile! He destroyed an army! He destroyed tanks and helicopters and only with the suit! She tried to speak but was stopped as they heard the sounds of loud jets. Everyone looked up to see three Su-47s and four Su-37s headed towards them. Derek quickly stepped back and quickly put on his helmet. With a single flap of his wings he was in the air and he quickly fired his jets. He roared as he flew high up meeting the jets. He quickly turned the opposite direction from them started leading them away. Aurora and her team were still trying to process that one of scientist from their base is the person who build their suits. Now he just saved their lifes and it doing so again. Aurora was somewhat away from it right now as she was now only worried about Derek. To do something so serious, to save them. To protect them and putting his own life at risk. She watched along with the rest of her team, as they saw Derek beginning to out flank the enemy jets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek was glad that now the team was safe. But he had to safe them. He still had to lead the jets away from them and destroy them. The four Su-37s quickly went in front of the Su-47s which Derek guessed that they were the leaders. He flew on as the jets locked on him and all fired missiles. His helmet lit up with warning signs. He quickly barreled rolled fast. The missiles all came close to him but exploded, crashing to each other. He then stopped spinning and quickly angled his body as he seemed as he was standing. This made the pilots quickly try to stop and pull up . Derek quickly flew under their bellies before he charged up his fists and punched holes into the engines and causing the fighters to quickly ejected before their planes stalled and fell to the earth below. All that was left was the three Su-47s. Derek growled to himself. "Why did I have to build those damn jets. Fuck!" A swarm of bullets came at him. He quickly flew up as high as he could and saw the jets flying after him. He flew as high as he could before his helmet showed signs of his altitude. Reaching the height at 28,000 feet, he quickly arched his body and turned straight down. The jets quickly did the same but they kept their distances. As he fell, he looked at his legs at the perusing jets. He fired two rockets at them. Two of the side jets were hit but the one in the middle quickly barreled rolled and avoided the missile. Derek smirked to himself. "Some competition." he said to himself. He quickly arched his body to fly straight. He quickly activated his jets, quickly putting him ahead of the jet. The jet quickly fired it's jet and quickly followed. Derek saw this and smiled. "Good." He quickly brought his legs ahead of him and headed to the opposite direction. The jet or the pilot quickly saw this and pulled up, quickly avoiding Derek by mere inches and flew on for another four miles. Derek stopped and hovered there while the jet made a major u-turn. It quickly turned around and headed back to Derek. Derek waited patiently as the jet quickly came. The jet locked on and fired two Sidewinder missiles and four air-to-air missiles at Derek. Derek just smiled to himself. With a swish flick of his wrist, he brought out his Chain gun and fired at the missiles. All were instantly destroyed but one. The sidewinder. He watched as it came mere inches from him before he quickly brought out his claws and grabbed the missile. The missile using all of its jet but Derek held it still in till he brought it up to him and slammed it against his chest, exploding in front of him. The pilot saw this and quickly pulled up and fled. Derek smiled as the smoke cleared. He quickly used his jets to catch up to the fleeing jet. He quickly caught up and landed on top of the jet, on top of the windshield. He saw the pilot was startled by this and he smiled. He punched the windshield and grabbed the pilot before he punched the controls of the jet and causing it to blow. He brought the jet pilot to his face. The pilot which he could see was a wolf, smiled. He pulled the parachute cord and let the pilot fall. The chute opened and the pilot glided down to earth while his jet fell to the earth. Derek quickly taught of the team and quickly headed back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurora and everyone saw what just happened. They couldn't believe what they just saw. Derek just toke care of seven jets and he wasn't even touched. They saw him come towards them and land in front of Aurora. She was still a bit dazed but she still spoke as he removed his helmet. "Derek how did you do that?" she asked. Derek smiled. "I will tell you later. All of you but first I have to get you guys out of here. Is any one injured?" Pyro came up, holding a sleeping wave. "She got hit in the arm. She's healed but she is just tired and unconscious right now." Derek nodded. "All right. Everyone else alright?" Everyone nodded with agreement. "Alright." said Derek. "I will help you guys get back to base. Pyro, can you take Wave?" Pyro nodded as he looked down at her. Derek nodded before he looked at everyone. "I will let you all take a break until your suits and you are ready." Everyone nodded and everyone sat back in the trench were the shade provided cover from the sun. Pyro stood his place. "Wave needs water. She can't survive if she doesn't have any." Derek nodded. "I will look to see if any of the enemies or the military carried water. I will go search for some." "And I will go with you." said Aurora. Her eye carried a strange look which seemed to Derek that she wanted to know what happened. He nodded and put his helmet back on. "We won't belong." With that both Derek and Aurora took off leaving her team. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurora was silent as Derek was scanning the desert. Aurora wanted to say something but she didn't know what to say, so she quickly spoke. "How can you find water out here?" she asked. Derek continued to scan even as he spoke. "My helmet is on heat seeking right now." "How does that help?" she asked bluntly. "We are in the middle of the plain field. It's a hot day and everything should be warm so if we find any thing that is cold, it should be water. Even the dead bodies should be a leased warmed so I could have little trouble finding water." Aurora was a bit displeased by some stuff and spoke more. "Why didn't you upgrade our suits just like yours?" Derek didn't answer right away for he was trying to find away to speak. He sighed in his com and spoke to her as he continued to scan. "I didn't think that you all needed it yet. I thought that maybe you all could handle yourselves." His voice carried sadness and a bit guilt. Aurora sighed to herself. "Well we guessed that we could handle ourselves. Today we were proved wrong twice. By the Hellfires and you." Derek turned his head and stopped scanning before he looked at her. Even through the black shielding of the helmets, he knew that she was sadden that she had failed. He sighed before scanning more and finally picked up a spring source by a Hellfire camp ground with only a couple of tents and a guard post that seemed abandoned. They quickly landed their and looked inside the tents. Aurora searched for any canteens or bottles. She quickly found several bottles of water, some canteens. She also found some emergency kits, and small packs of food to feed everyone. She smiled as she picked up everything but now had to find away for her to carry everything back. She heard Derek come in. "I found a water truck from the Hellfires. It seems as they have one so they don't run out of water out here." "I found food, water and emergency kits but how can we take this all back to them?" "Well since you all have been fighting and the suns is going down, I belive its best if we brought everything to them and set camp before we go back home." "Great but how are we going to do that?" Derek smiled and scuffed. "Didn't I make it so your suits can carry twice as much as you could?" She chuckled. "Right. So I guess we make a large back and put everything in there and you can carry..." "I will carry that water truck. And anything else that may need." Aurora smiled. "Damn, that suit of yours can just do about everything, can it?" He smiled and nodded before they both started to make a giant bag that carry all the food, drinks and kits and all. While Derek got ready to carry the truck. They quickly were set and left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They arrived to see everyone was starting to fall asleep as the evening was approaching. They all woke up as they saw Derek and Aurora, coming out the distance. They were all once again surprised that Derek was lifting something they couldn't. He was carrying a giant water truck and saw as Aurora landed with the giant bag and Derek landed slowly lowering the truck. Aurora turned to them all. "Alright team. I think that we had trouble today so I think its best if we stayed here and rest and wait in till tomorrow before we head back home. Derek and I brought back some food and water for us. Medical kits and camp set as well, so relax and we will settle here." Everyone except for Wave who was still unconscious, worked to build their tents. Each couple decided to share a tent though. Electrica and Tank settled in together. Zephyr with Terra and Pyro made the tent by himself before he brought in water canteens and brought in Wave into the tent. Aurora was setting up her tent but saw Derek wasn't setting his. She stopped halfway and walked towards him who was away from the camp and was looking at the sunset. She saw him watching the sunset then looked at him. He looked at the beautiful scene before he looked down at Aurora. "Is it not the most beautiful thin you've seen." he said sweetly. Aurora smiled and nodded "It is." she said quietly. They both focused on the sunset before long it disappeared over the mountains. Aurora looked at him again and asked. "Are you going to set up your tent?" He shook his head. "No. I'm just going to keep guard incase any Hellfires come back." Aurora lowered her head. She spoke softly to him. "Alright well... if you need a tent, you can come into mine if you want." He smiled and nodded. "Thank you." She smiled softly and turned around and finished up her tent before looking back at him. "Good night Derek Skyshadow." Derek nodded and smiled. "And good night to you, Alivia White Aurora." She smiled before she entered her tent and closed it up. Derek smiled as he went in but then lowered his smile. He looked up at the sky to see it starting to slowly light up with the bright stars and planets. He smiled a bit before he jumped on top of truck and took off his armor, putting it to the side before he laid down with his clothes and gazed up at the night sky. He loved her no doubt but did she love him? There was in odd balance in his heart that seemed to tell him that she loved him back but their was a part of him telling him that if he tried to ask, she would reject him. He didn't know which part of his heart to listen to. He badly wanted to tell her that he loved her but it was so hard to do it. He knew that everyone on the team had a partner, even when their partners were their opposites but what about him? He was a Shadeian. A dark, cold dragon that is meant to do nothing but kill, while Aurora was a light dragon. Their very existence is to cause light, show hope and be loved. But could he love something that are mortal enemies since the Drake gods had put them on this planet. But then he thought back on his team. They were all opposites. Fire against water but they are together. Wind against earth. Electric against steel. But can light and darkness be as one? He didn't know. He just wanted to be with her, that's all he could only care for. He sighed as he continued to stare up at the night sky and wonder. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurora was having the same problem. She laid in her sleeping back with only her clothes on with her armor off to the side. She loved him but can darkness and light be together? Light and dark are a fight with each other but she didn't care what he was. She liked him for what he is, for who he is and for what he would do to protect her and her team. He put his own life at risk just to safe theirs and the way he would look at her would no doubt show that he had the same feeling that she did for him. She badly wanted to tell him how much she wanted to be with him. To protect her, to care for her, to love her. To hold her in his arms and never let her go. To make love to her and make her his mate and to make sure that their long lifes would live on. To raise a child in their names. To show that through love, no matter what kind of dragon you are, Shadeian, nor a different element of dragon, that no matter who you were with, that they could be together and love each other. To prove that love is a powerful thing and that it must never be broken. To be their with your mate and never let her go. She wanted that. She wanted everything like that. But the words still hung in her head; can it work? She told herself that over and over again in her head. She eventually got tired and fell asleep. During the middle of the night, she heard the tent flap open. She heard Derek get in and closed the tent flap. He was in his clothes as he laid down on his own sleeping back. Aurora didn't know if she should step in and tell him what she wanted to tell him. Dare she ask? She listened to her heart and turned around to see Derek with his eyes open, looking at her. Their eyes met and none of them moved. It was like that before Aurora whispered to him. "Derek?" He blinked once. "Yes?" he said quietly. She leaned in a bit closer closing the gap a bit. She inhaled deeply and spoke to him quietly. "Do you love me?" Derek felt a bit shocked that she would ask him that when it should have been him to say that. He kept his gaze at her and slowly lowered his head and closed his eyes. "I do love you. I love with all my heart." he said truthfully. That was all Aurora needed to hear. She leaned in brought his head up before she leaned in and kissed him slowly but love filled. Nothing but pure love was in that kiss and it was one where both of them enjoyed together. Derek knew that he would take care of her and never let her get harmed. He would protect and love her and make sure that she receives every bit of his love and never let it die. He brought his arm over her and drew her in more, making the kiss warmer. They eventually ended the kiss and looked at each other before giving each other another long passionate kiss. He brought closer so her head was under his neck and he draped his wing over and both falling into a loving sleep. The same went for the others in their tents as each had revealed their loves for each other. Wave barely woke up and looked up at Pyro who was happily holding her in his mars. She smiled as looked down at her. She reached up and gave him a long kiss and both putting their hearts in it. Through out the night love was filled and nothing was going to let it die. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow i didn't now i could write so long. Ok now i have bad news. I won't continue this for awhile. Reason being, i have to find a way to finish my other ones and close those ones so i could continue this one. So please give ideas on my other stories for this one will be the last one in till i at least get close to finishing "Lycans of the World and "Love within War." My Xenormorph story i will leave you guys up to it but just give it time with this one and wait in till i am done so, this is the final piece for now. Leave comments and anything you like.
