The morning after and beyond.

Not gonna lie, when I wake up in the morning my cock is feeling pretty damn worn out. I'm not complaining. No sir. Just saying.

It's at the exact moment after I wake up that I realize I very badly need a shower. I sit up, rubbing my eyes and find that my whole body feels vaguely sticky.

The first thing I see when I open my eyes is a well rounded husky butt and for a moment I think I'm having a flashback to last night. Then I realize he's bent over across the room, digging deep into the recesses of the bottom draw of his wardrobe. His fur looks just a little bit damp all over, telling me he's probably fresh out of the shower himself.

I wish I could say that we figured things out last night, made a connection, figured out what he was going to do about Marty, but honestly there wasn't much talking. The words we did settle on using didn't quite surpass the eloquence of: "Oh, fuck yeah."

When Ryan notices me absently staring at his ass he turns around grinning and brandishing some silky, red, girly underwear that he must have taken from the draw. I can feel my cock attempting to rise, but I mentally tell it off and send it back down, it needs the rest, and for once it does what I want.

"Sorry to end the show Kale," he says with a wink as he pulls the underwear on, leaving me staring at the distinct outline of his sheath and balls. As if the show has ended, pff. "Now go get a shower."

I nod and after being pointed in the right direction I head over to it. When I'm finally in and warm water is pouring over me I let myself relax, zone out and slip into thought while I wash.

When I headed out to the club last night for a fun few hours of drinking and dancing I didn't expect to end up inside some husky's house with only one drink in me, fucking his ass and getting walked in on by his maybe-ex-I-don't-know-boyfriend and, after that drama, still being here with him in the morning. This whole thing has been surreal. It wasn't that I wasn't out hoping for sex, it's that I didn't expect it to come quite in this form. Not that I'm complaining about Ryan's form. No, no, no. He's just right.

I'm left wondering what happens next as I'm drying off. Do I get dressed, wish him luck and walk out? Do I give him my number first? Do I just stay until he tells me to get lost? I don't have work until tomorrow so... but today I guess he'll be talking to Marty. I feel kinda guilty for thinking this, but I hope they don't make up. I wouldn't mind seeing Ryan again, maybe even over and over again. Everything he does surprises me. With him, life is in a constant state of excitement. In layman's terms: it's fucking awesome.

I stroll back into the bedroom, reasonably dry now, and there's Ryan, fully clothed in a white button-up shirt and smart black pants. My clothes from last night are piled neatly on the bed. It's impossible to guess what's going to happen with this dog. I head over to my clothes and start getting dressed.

"So, uh, what are you going to do about Marty?" I decide to ask before the silence starts creeping into the territory of awkwardness.

"Marty? Oh, uh, yeah. I guess I'll talk to him after I go to work." He hurries through the words and rushes around the room picking up a wallet and his phone and something else I don't see. Once I'm dressed he comes over to me, nuzzles softly against my neck and says: "I had a good night with you Kale, like, really."

"Do you, uhm, want my number?" I ask, a little scared at what the answer might be, unable to even hazard a guess.

"Yeah, of course." He says, internally I let out a sigh of relief. He pulls his phone out of a pocket and looks up to me. I do the same, ignoring the notifications telling me I have three new messages, and read him out my number, he thumbs it in. "I'll send you a text now to prove I'm not just leading you on. Okay?"

"Okay." I say, dumbfounded. That went better than I possibly could have expected. He spends a few moments typing something out and sending it, then my phone buzzes and lights up.

"Don't read it yet," he says with a mischievous little smirk on his face. "But seriously, come with me. I need to go to work now so I'm going to have to boot you out and off home."

"No problem." I say, a buzzing feeling of giddiness robbing my ability to think of anything more interesting to say. Maybe I've actually started something good here, something real. I let him guide me out of the building and into the cool morning air. We exchange a few pleasant words and I part ways with him feeling warm.

I'm back on my own in my, far smaller, apartment by the time I remember about his text. I take out my phone and bring up the messages, ignore the ones that aren't from Ryan and get his text up on the screen.

Good wolves get rewards, this text is yours. Be good to this husky and I'm sure he'll see you again soon enough.

Damn, he really must have enjoyed last night. A good wolf. He's into me too. Damn this is amazing. My mind leads itself on to thoughts of him and his naked body and It's not too long later that my belly is covered in seed once more, and in only a few more moments I fall into a welcome sleep.

*

The next day I have an off feeling that the whole thing didn't really happen. It was so strange and amazing that it feels like it couldn't have. But that text is still there. So it must have. I debate for a moment over sending him a message back, but I decide to at least wait out the day and see what happens before I make any decisions on that. I need to return to real life first.

There's nothing more real life than going into your shitty day job on a Monday morning. For a while I live and work in a half-trance, doing my office administrative duties without really registering the world around me. When I walk through the cramped walls of my workplace I say hello to my workmates, I'm not rude, I say I'm fine when they ask how I am, but really I'm somewhere else entirely inside my mind, and somewhere inside the husky.

Every five minutes that pass in my little office I get the urge to reach for my phone and send Ryan some ridiculous text about how much I want to see him again, but I know it's not the right thing to do. I should wait until the end of the day and if he hasn't said anything to me I'll text him something simple and restrained like: thinking about you, or: hope I can see you again soon. Nothing crazy. Keep it simple Kale.

Hell, what is happening to me? This isn't my first one night stand and not even the first where I met a guy who I liked enough to give my number, not even the first where he contacted me, but somehow... it's different. Ryan is intoxicating. He's a mystery... Hm, I know what I should text him. I should ask him how things went with Marty. Yeah, that way if he gets back together I can be sad about it and move on without getting my hopes up and if he tells me they split up for good, well, maybe I can get in there again. I feel my underwear tightening. Thank fuck I sit at this boring ass desk all day.

There's a knock on my door and before I can answer a slender, light red furred fox bursts into the room wearing a pale pink shirt, which is one button too far undone to look as professional as he probably should, and black pants that fit far too tightly to his legs and butt to look as smart as they could. He grins a toothy grin and looks down at me from above my computer screen with wide golden eyes. His large ears are perked up and decorated with two earrings each.

"Kale!" He yells at me, then turns around and slams the door shut behind him. He steadily swaggers his way back over to my desk, puts both forepaws on it and leans over my screen. "Oh my god. Tell me everything girl."

"Adrian. One, I can't believe they let you work here dressed like that. I mean, shouldn't you be wearing a dress darling? Two, I can't believe you have taken the generosity of your kind employer in giving a needy poof like you such a nice job as their receptionist entirely for granted. We both know you're supposed to be working." I say, leaning back in my chair and smirking.

"Oh don't give me that shit Kalie. I got the newbie to take over for me for a few minutes. And you know Dom would never fire me. You've seen him staring at my cute little ass every time he walks by, right? Don't answer that, I know you haven't honey because whenever you would have the chance to witness it you're always too busy staring at my ass too." Adrian says, finally sitting down in the seat diagonally across the desk from me so that I can see him without moving my computer screen.

"Oh you know me too well dearest." I say dryly, raising an eyebrow at him and grinning.

Adrian is a lot of things to me: my workmate, my closest friend, a giant pain in the neck and a total, flat out, for-real fag. So, of course he's here trying to get the scoop on my weekend, after all, we went to that club on Saturday together.

"Kale, Kalie. You know what I'm here for. We were barely in that place for ten minutes before you ditched me, and then I don't hear from you until I walk into your office today?"

"I wouldn't call what you did 'walking in'."

"What I'm saying is that you either had some amazing as fuck weekend or it was a disaster... Kale, girlfriend. You need to tell me everything." He puts the back of one to his paws to forehead and flutters his eyelids as if the very concept of not knowing would cause him to faint.

"Well, uh..." I rub the back of my neck and grin stupidly. "I met this husky."

"Did you fuck him?"

"Adrian!"

"Is that a no? Sucks to be you Kale, hmm, sucking isn't so bad though so don't worry about it. Wait, ooh, wait, no, did he fuck you?"

"No Adrian, I did fuck him, but-"

"Ooh, wait there. Did you do that thing where you fucked his ass then stuck your cock in his mouth before going back in and finishing off? I know that's your fetish you know."

"I know you know Adrian."

"So is that what you did or not?"

I sigh, and shake my head trying to hide a smile. Looking down at my desk I say: "Yep."

"I bet he thought you were a really good fuck, oh, and I bet you were! I know how good your cock can feel - and when you did that to me I have to admit I found it pretty sexy - but when you do the same move every time with whoever you finally settle down with, they're gonna get bored pretty fast. I mean it's all you ever did with me."

"How many times are you going to bring that up? Adrian, we only had sex two times."

"Oh baby, I know, I'm just making sure you'll be better for your next long term." I roll my eyes and he puts a paw over his mouth and giggles.

"Hey, I can do whatever I want. Especially when I'm with somebody new, like you keep telling me, you thought it was sexy." I stare directly into his golden eyes and bare my teeth in a smug grin. "I know you have daydreams about it while you're sat at reception on slow work days."

"Kalie I daydream about sucking and getting railed by your cock whether the work day is slow or fast, hell I'm doing it right now girl." He makes a scene of tilting his head to one side and staring into space then giving out a ridiculous little moan of pleasure. "Then when I get home I nightdream about fucking your ass so hard you won't be coming into work for weeks."

"You want to get me fired that badly?"

"Oh you silly wolf, weren't you listening? Dom wouldn't fire me, and if he tried to fire you all I'd have to do is accidentally drop a pen in front of him and ask him to keep you on while I'm bent over rummaging around to try and pick it up. Plus I don't need extra incentive to try and flip the roles on you, fucking your cute rear would be reward enough in and of itself."

"You mischievous switches, always causing havoc."

"Anyway, back to exhibit A, what happened next? You fucked some husky, but something wasn't the same, you started saying something..."

"You don't miss a beat do you? Well, uh, I fucked him, but then..."

"Then what Kalie? It must be bad if you can't spit it out." he gasps and leans back in mock shock. "Was he really a she and now you're convinced that you're straight?" He widens his eyes and his jaws drop. Whatever there is to say about Adrian I have to admit that it's impressive how he can stay so energetic and sarcastic at almost every waking moment. "Because, let me tell you, you're not straight Kalie. I would know. I've got fond memories that disprove it. I might still have some pictures too."

"You know darling, I would get to the point faster if you didn't insist on turning everything into a side point about your sexual fantasies about me."

"Well you suppress your sexual fantasies about fucking my tight ass so I have to fill the void for the both of us."

"Put some fat on that butt and maybe I really would be having those fantasies, have you not been drinking your daily supply of cum lately? You're stick thin, not my type foxy."

He frowns and scratches his head and mutters something along the lines of: it didn't seem like that when you were fucking me.

"That was two years ago Adrian. Anyway, where were we?"

"You were telling me about the massively obese husky you were fucking."

"Hey! Delightfully chubby is a more fitting description."

"Anyway, what happened next? What's the catch?"

"Well, I knotted him and then about thirty seconds later his boyfriend walked into the apartment."

Adrian's jaw drops open, for real this time, he leans forward, his eyes go even wider. He's speechless. I can't help but plaster a giant grin across my face, this is a rare achievement. The last time I remember getting him to shut up was when I shoved my cock in his mouth. Great, now I really am having sexual daydreams about my best friend.

"What!? Oh my god, girl, tell me every-" The door to my office creaks open and a fat weasel steps just inside. Adrian shuts up again.

"Adrian, are you here to deliver an important message to Kale or are you talking about your sex life again?" Dom asks tiredly. "Get your ass back to reception."

"Of course, Dom, sorry," he says, then he turns to me and whispers: "this conversation isn't over, I'll see you after work. Same time, same place. You devil."

Adrian stalks out of my office, Dom shakes his head at me partly disapproving, partly amused, I mouth out a sorry and he leaves me to my work with a gruff laugh. I settle back into the daily rhythm of work, more content and settled than before. I'm back where I'm used to being and with the people I'm used to being with. Everything feels a little bit more manageable.

It doesn't stop me checking my phone every five minutes.

*

Same time, same place. That means quarter past five at a nice little local coffee shop, and of course, when I get there Adrian is already sitting at a table out front, sipping something from a large mug. I sit down across from him. There's already a large latte sat there waiting for me.

"I was going to ask you to pay for it when the bill comes," Adrian says, gesturing at my coffee, "but this story sounds like it will be worth it, so don't worry."

"Very generous of you darling." I light up a cigarette and relay the events of the night between sips of coffee - making sure to keep my voice down, seeing as we are very much in public right now - and enjoying Adrian's ridiculous, overblown reactions.

"Wait so one minute he was crying about his boyfriend walking out and the next he was absolutely fine and basically telling you to fuck him again?"

"Uh, yeah." I say, looking into what's left of my coffee.

"You don't even have to tell me that you did what he said. I've met you before you know. All I want to find out is, did you fuck him in the exact same way again?"

"Very funny. In fact I did not, maybe this old dog truly can learn." I gulp down the rest of my drink and snuff out my cigarette in an ashtray.

"I wouldn't count on it. Anyway, he sounds like a crazy one Kalie, you didn't give him your number did you?" He waits for barely a second before continuing. I've always been so easy to read to him. "Oh my god you did, what if he contacts you? Don't you know the golden rule? Don't fuck with crazy. And more importantly, don't fuck crazy!" Again another split second pause. "Kale, shit, he's already contacted you? What did he say?"

I bring the text up on my phone and show it to him.

"Oh my god. You're his good wolf? Oh my god. Just promise you'll tell me when he has you on a collar and leash and let me watch, or join in. Oh my god. You even saved his name. Ryan? Oh my god, are you his little wolfy plaything?" Adrian is getting so excited he can't keep still and he starts talking far too loud. A few people on other tables look over to us with inquisitive or bemused looks. I murmur for him to keep his voice down and his shoulders fall along with his ears. "Yeah, sorry, got a little too into it there. But I mean, are you gonna act on this? He seems like the kinda guy you might regret getting close to. See how he treated his boyfriend? He slept with you behind his back just because they were arguing."

"I, uh, still haven't decided what to do about it. I know he's kinda crazy, but hell, he's sexy and sometimes its fun to be around people who are a little out there."

"Maybe." Adrian says, he sips the last of his coffee then shoves the mug towards the center of the table. A few seconds pass and he hasn't opened his mouth. I start to feel nervous. This usually only happens when something really important is going on that I don't know about. "Hey, uh, Kale?"

"What's up Adrian?"

"I have a couple tickets for a play on locally tonight, I just wondered if you wanted to go with me?" He looks at me, but his back is a little arched and his tone is a little lower than usual. I sit back in my chair and stare at him for a little while, trying to figure it out the words behind the words. When I think I have it, it hits me hard.

"Adrian are you, uh, are you asking me on a date?" I ask, unsure on how I feel about it entirely.

"What makes you say that Kale? We've been to the theater together before. That was with a group sure, but why not? We go the cinema all the time together anyway."

"The difference is that you bought me this ticket, and it was probably a lot more expensive than a cinema ticket, and on top of that we've never been to the theater alone together. And then there's the way you're sitting and talking." I speak calmly, as much for my benefit as for his. "If you're asking me on a date just say it. We've always been open with each other. Just, and this is not me preemptively refusing, but... remember why it didn't work out last time."

"I know, I know. Times change though. I, uh, hmm, let me phrase it this way: If you want me to be asking you on a date, then I am. If not..." He shrugs and puts on a smile.

"What, are you too scared too ask me out straight up?" I put on my best wolfish grin. "Afraid of what the answer might be?"

His smile falters for what could only be a small fraction of a second, but I catch it and instantly I feel worse. The answer to my question is absolutely, definitely a yes. I know Adrian too well for him to hide that, hell, he probably knows I know by now. Frankly I don't really know what my answer would be myself, I was trying to delay the thinking part until the latest possible moment. Well that's now.

"Honestly Adrian, this has kind of caught me off guard. I guess I need to think about it."

"Off guard? Really now Kalie? All that flirting we've been doing recently, starting to go to clubs together, stuff like that. I thought I had, uh, made it at least a little clear." He says, rubbing the back of his neck and turning his gaze to the gravelly floor beside the table.

"I just, uh, I suppose I thought you were just being a little more open with me again. I mean, after we kinda sorta broke up we had kind of a rough patch there. I thought it was just going back to old times."

"Well, so did I. Back to the old times where we both wanted to fuck each other and thought the other one was just leading us on until that one amazing night and morning."

"And then later that morning we both decided our friendship was too important to risk on a relationship like that, it's not like we were struggling for sex and we see each other all the time anyway."

"I think, Kalie, that if you look over the events of that day you'll find that you decided that. I just went along with it. Arguing couldn't have been the right choice. Anyway, we're a couple years older now, wiser, and, of course, sexier." He brushes a paw through his short, dark red hair in an exaggerated and overtly ridiculous movement. "I'm sure we could give this a try again, at least, I would be happy to. In fact, I would love to. I know I'm not one for much real talk, but I want to tell you one thing. I've never been as close to anybody as I have to you."

"Foxy, you know full well that I think the same about you. You've been there for me when I've had nobody else to talk to or cry onto over and over again. It's just, I'm still not sure I want to risk that on a relationship. And..."

"And...?" Adrian straightens up again, regaining some of his confidence and swagger as everything flies out into the open. "Girl, please don't tell me that you won't go on a date with me just because of some fat, insane husky you only just met. That would really make me feel worthless." He laughs a short laugh. It's clear he's joking about it all, but I sense an edge to his words.

"No, no. Look Adrian, you're an amazing, sexy fox and I love you as a best friend, maybe even more, but you mean more to me than anything. Literally anything. When I say I'm not sure about this, please don't think I'm devaluing you." My claws close across the table. I'm used to the sarcasm and silliness of my everyday talks with Adrian, not this deep emotional stuff, especially not in public. It's making me a little anxious. "I just can't risk losing you."

"How about I promise you something Kale? Whatever happens, if we get together and split and argue and bitch and get so pissed off we can barely stand to speak... Even if that happens, if you call me, talk to me or contact me in any way, if you need me in any way at all, I will be there for you. I mean it."

I'm silent for a long time, a waiter comes over and takes away our empty mugs and asks if we want anything else, I shake my head, Adrian asks for a blueberry muffin. He must be nervous; he never normally gets anything after his coffee. There's so much to think about.

Adrian is a few bites into his muffin by the time I'm ready to speak.

"Okay foxy, I'll go on a date with you." He puts on a wide and warm smile. I raise up a finger before he can say anything. "But I have one condition, this doesn't mean we're a couple, yet, and until that decision is made I'm not letting you lock me down."

"Hm, what you're telling me is that if your husky master calls and asks for a fuck I'm going to have to let you go for it?" He grumbles.

"That's exactly right, and just because he called me a good wolf doesn't make him my master." I say and he lets out an involuntary laugh. Everything feels a little better now. I still have a low buzz of anxiousness inside of me, but now it's more out of excitement and anticipation than fear.

"You're in denial Kalie, it sounds like he played you pretty hard."

"All right, all right, but if you want me all to yourself sooner than later you should get to convincing me that you're the love of my life." Again Adrian laughs, but this time it's dark and full of a meaning that I don't quite discern.

"The kicker is, Kalie, I already have, I just need to make you realize it." He wears a confident smile.

"Okay, okay, enough of that. Honestly though, I'm kinda excited for this now. So, what's the play we're going to see?"

"It's called Romeo and Julian."

"Let me guess, it's the fag version of Romeo and Juliet."

"Better, it's the modernized, fag version of Romeo and Juliet by a well respected production company and, apparently, the eponymous characters get naked in one scene. Dicks out and all." He rubs his paws together. "It should be fun."

"Until the double suicide." I point out.

"Oh, of course you had to ruin the sexy vibe didn't you Kalie?"

"Isn't that why you love me?"

"Certainly not. I'm in it for the wolf dick."

*

The theater is pretty large. When we take our seats near the stage and close to the center of the room I look around and above me to the balcony seating, I guess there must be about four hundred people here in all, and it's only about three quarters full. I've been here before, but not in a long time. It's not that I have anything against watching plays, in fact I quite enjoy it really, it's just one of those things I don't get around to doing very often. While I'm trying to gauge the size of the place I take a closer look at the people inhabiting the seats, expecting to see a large majority of male and possible female couples, but actually the audience appears to be a fairly mixed group, with only a little bias towards us gays. Not saying that you can't be gay if you're in a mixed group, it's just harder to spot unless you're in tight-fitting bright pink everything.

Adrian's excited even before the lights go out. "God, it's so great to be out here doing this with you. We get to watch a well received play together, and who knows? Maybe when it's dark you'll gather up the courage to do the old yawn-and-put-my-arm-around-you technique."

"But, Adrian, I could never find that courage. How might this beautiful girl beside me react? What if she thinks I'm a creep and runs out the theater in tears?" I put together a toothy smile and he rolls his eyes in a slow, exaggerated manner, but he's smiling the whole time and I can tell he's glad to be here. Now that we've settled down a little I have to admit I am too. Maybe he's right, maybe we're old and mature enough now to make this work.

The lights go out and the whole audience quiets down in anticipation. Adrian leans over and whispers into my ear: "Something tells me she'll be okay with it." I get a warm feeling, nod slightly, and focus my eyes on the stage.

It starts out pretty much as I expected, a modernized version of the classic tale, except with a bit of extra spice. All the Shakespeare's classic ye olde English sex jokes have been replaced with naughtier, and certainly far gayer, ones. It's funny, the actors are convincing and for the first few minutes I'm enjoying myself.

Enter Romeo.

It's Ryan.

No joke. It's fucking Ryan.

My eyes and mouth open wide and I lean forward in my chair. What the fuck? I can't believe what I'm seeing. Did Adrian know about this? No way... He didn't even know about Ryan until today, or maybe they're old friends and this has all been some big set up? No, it can't be, Adrian was sincere as I have ever seen him. This is just a crazy coincidence. So when Ryan went off to "work" yesterday, was he really? Or was it a long day of rehearsal before the opening night? Why didn't he tell me?

It has to be him. He walks across the stage wearing a white shirt unbuttoned in just the same way Adrian wears it (is this some secret gay dress code I haven't heard about?) and when it comes to his first line everything is solidified. That is his voice. Oh hell.

Suddenly there's a different voice in my ear and I almost jump out of my seat. It's only Adrian, Kale, calm down.

"What's got you so excited?" I don't know what to say, I turn to him and just flap my mouth open and closed uselessly for a while, unable to find words. He stares at me, head lopsided, confused. He looks at the stage, back to me, back to the stage, back to me. His eyes go wide. He sprouts a wide, toothy grin. "Oh. My. God. That's-" He shoves a finger towards the stage, no doubt annoying the people in the rows behind us. "Is that your husky? Ryan? Oh my god, they chose your chubby new master for Romeo? He didn't tell you anything about it did he? To be fair, he's not all that chubby; he's pretty cute actually. I don't blame you, too much."

"Good to know." I whisper, trying to block the whole thing from my mind and focus on the play. If I act like everything's fine then it will all be okay. I can talk to Ryan later, maybe, but whatever. He didn't have to tell me he was acting in a play. I don't need to feel offended, do I? Of course not. We're not together. All that happened is we got each other's numbers. Adrian just chuckles to himself and leaves me alone for the moment.

There's a while where I don't let myself get too distracted by the fact that I'm watching the husky I just fucked acting as Romeo in a play while sitting with my best friend who just asked me out on a date, but it doesn't last very long. Soon enough Julian comes out. Oh fuck. Yup. That's my mind breaking down. He's a dark furred, thin, light voiced otter. It's unmistakably Marty.

My head flips into overdrive as I attempt to rationalize quite what I am looking at. As ever, Adrian is all too perceptive. It's like he's always watching me out of the corner of his eyes. Maybe he is come to think of it. The bastard never misses a beat. The moment my eyes go wide and I go stiff he's staring right at me.

"Say no more." He whispers into my ear and goes back to watching the play with the biggest, smuggest smile I have ever seen plastered across his muzzle. I want to remind him that I didn't say anything but I know he'll say my posture told him everything he wanted to know. The fox is too damn smart. He lets out a single laugh, muffled by a paw covering his mouth, and turns back to me, beaming. "Oh, I can't wait to see them naked."

My paws are firmly smacked over my eyes before he even finishes his last word.
