Jay was very confused as to why Pots was acting the way he was, but then Jay thought, eh, maybe he'd have to look into it later. Terrence rushed in the room to apologize to Jay and Pots, "This is all my fault, if I had never pulled the prank on Pots, then Pots wouldn't have thrashed Charles. This got you hurt Jay and I'm very sorry for that, and I'll leave if you want me to."

"No, stay, I can use the extra help, especially since Pots has to cook breakfast 'til I get better," Jay said, trying to get up but wincing back in pain.

"You said, I have to do WHAT? Nah, cooking isn't for me, I'll just go out and buy Burger King or Subway, your choice Jay," Pots said with a happy expression on his face.

"Subway it is!" Jay yelled wincing in pain.

So, later that day, Pots went to Subway and got an extra large sub, a medium sub, and a veggie sandwich for Terrence since for some odd reason he wouldn't eat meat. After Pots finished his sandwich he helped Jay eat his, and Terrence went out to buy the book that they needed for their science project. Pots sent in the note to both of Jay and Terrence's teachers, telling them that they couldn't come to school for the next week or two because Jay was hurt, and Terrence was there to help him out. The note also said that he had become the legal guardian of the two young pups since both of his parents had died and left him in charge, and Terrence's parents mysteriously went missing.

"Okay, sub for you, sandwich for you, and sub for me, we're all set," Pots said, handing out sandwiches to everyone.

After they finished eating, Terrence and Pots went to the hardware store to buy supplies for a bed that can sooth the soul that they were building. They would need 15 boards of 14x5 wood, a Tempur-Pedicâ„¢ mattress, and some space sheets and blankets, since Jay's favorite thing in the universe was space. Once they came back, they noticed Jay walking around, as if looking for something. Seeing as he could walk now, Pots told him to go downstairs to the laundry room and get the sheets out of the dryer, since they were wet from the rain. Guess who he found there; Charles.

Charles proceeded to attack the wounded pup, but didn't expect Pots to be walking down the stairs at the same time. He then acted as if nothing were happening and he was just getting his laundry.

"What are you doing here? Trying to hit my brother again?" Pots said angrily.

"No, no, I wasn't doing anything to him. Wait, he's YOUR brother?" Charles said sheepishly.

Charles then patted Jay on the head trying get out of the situation he was in and make Pots calm down. Pots didn't seem to like this.

"Stop.......touching.......my......BROTHER! I'm gonna kick your ass!" Pots yelled punching at Charles.

Charles yelped in pain at the mammoth fists flying at his face and chest. He limped up the stairs, hurt from the bruises on his legs and face, and said that he didn't want to go anywhere near Jay or Pots anymore.

"You okay? Are you hurt? What did he do to you?" Pots asked trying to be as sincere as possible.

"I'm fine, he was going to hit me before you showed up, so thanks for showing up when you did. Things could have gotten worse if you had come along," Jay said.

They went back upstairs only to be surprised by Terrence's work with the bed, it was already half done in only the three minutes that Jay and Pots had been downstairs. Terrence couldn't help but smile at his work. Pots proceeded to help him with the bed and it only took them another 10 minutes to complete it.

Wow, this bed really is comfy, Jay thought to himself but said aloud, "Thanks guys! This bed is the best!"

His smile quickly turned into a gasp of horror when he noticed that gash of blood on his leg and the round hole with a black pellet in it. He saw Charles with something shiny in his hand while he was running away.

The next day, Jay was confused as to why he had done this, or how he had gotten the gun. The only upside to this incident was that Jay had a new story to right about at school on Monday.

"Jay, Terrence, get your best clothes on we're heading to church in 15 minutes, be ready when I get back from the book story," Pots yelled.

Jay went and took a shower before putting his suit on. Terrence had already showered after he finished working on the bed with Pots, so he just put his suit on. They went to church which lasted about four hours because was taking reconciliation. Pots got this weird feeling when he saw the priest, his golden fur and crimson eyes. Pots didn't know why he felt this way, but when he revealed this to Jay, he was also confused. It didn't make any sense; could it have been that Pots...was gay? That following Tuesday, Jay invited Louis Greyhound over for dinner since Tuesday was usually Louis' friendly dinner day.

"So, I see you've recovered from that bullet wound, eh," Louis said in his Canadian accent.

Wait, how could he have known about the bullet wound? I never told anybody, Jay thought to himself.

"How did you know about that, I never told you," Jay asked.

"Let's just say...a...friend told me," Louis said with a sly look on his face.

Jay was more confused then he had ever been before in his life. Why were all these events happening to HIM? Why was he being attacked? He couldn't answer any of these questions except for one: Was the person who shot him Charles? He got some facts from people who lived under him in the apartment and across the street. They all said that it looked like Charles. So that raises the question, why?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, Jay confronted Charles and asked, "Was it you or someone else that looks like you that shot me?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about, I never had a gun on my person all weekend and I only saw you once but your brother pounded me," Charles said scratching his head, "I DO wonder who could have done it though. I think Louis has something to do with it, he is good at making masks that look exactly like people."
So that's how he knew about it, maybe it was him. Maybe Charles was just trying to throw me off the trail, I'll figure THAT out later, Jay thought to himself.
Charles knew that Louis had done it, but why didn't he tell Jay that he knew? Maybe he wanted him to figure it out himself, he was after all, a journalist. Charles had asked Louis why he did it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I'm sick and tired of that Jay kid always showing me up in class. He's such a loser! I wish that kid could just die!" Louis screamed.

"What did he ever do, so he answered the toughest question in a matter of seconds it's not like he's competing with you for the smartest student in class," Charles said.

"I know, but he IS the smartest kid in class, and if he was gone, I'd be the smartest again," Louis said admitting his own defeat to Charles.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why did Charles feel like this was his fault? He knew he didn't do it, and he knew that Louis did it. So why Jay invite him over? This was all starting to get really complicated.
