#6 of Opposites Attract

"Absolutely not!" Came the loud, booming voice of Sara's father. "Are you insane? This place is like a gold mine to his type. We let him in, the whole damn house will be emptied overnight. He is a bad seed and I don't want you having anything at all to do with him. Do you understand me?" He said, glaring deeply into Sara's eyes, his fists clenching up at his sides

"But dad! His dad is dead! He won't be able to support himself on his income. He'll be homeless and all you can think about is yourself!" Sara protested, tears streaming down her cheeks and dripping onto the floor. "You're wrong about him. Just because he lives in the projects you automatically think he is a bad seed. I hate you!" Sara shoved him out of her room and slammed the door in his face before locking it shut.

"Think of myself? Yea you'll think I'm thinking of myself when he has your ass kidnapped and locked up in his basement. Maybe that's what it will take for a lesson to sink into your thick head." With that he quickly turned and walked off down the hallway, disappearing into his own room. Meanwhile Sara sunk down in her bed and leaned up against the wall, pulling out her cell phone and punching in a number.

"Hey Marty, hun? Can you do me a favor? I have a friend who just lost his dad.. His name is Draco and he lives in the projects. He's a red dragon. Yea, really tall, bulky, and has green streaks through his black mane. You can't miss him. Anyways, he won't be able to support himself on his income. I was wondering if you could do me this small favor and give him one of your rooms in your hotel? Just until he gets back on his feet. Yea, my dad absolutely refuses to let him in our house. I know I hate it too. Well, ok hun. Thanks a lot sweetie, you're an angel." She hung up her phone and rose up from the bed, dialing Draco's number and walking to her dresser.

By now Draco was walking around the home again and looking through his fathers things. Depression was setting in again because of all the good memories amidst the bad ones. That was, until he heard his phone go off in his room. He quickly ran to his room and smiled, seeing it was Sara again. "Hello? Heh, hey there hun. I'm doing alright I guess. I'm still pretty depressed though... I really miss him." As he heard the news though, his depression went away again, his eyes going wide. "Whoa, you're kidding me.. Oh wow Sara thank you so much. Seriously I have to repay you somehow. You don't know what this means to me.. Right now? Oh my god.. Well ok, I'll get my shit packed up and I'll be there as soon as possible. Thank you so much!" Draco hung up his phone and dug out his suit case, quickly filling it up with as many pieces of clothes and toiletries as he could fit in it. He then quickly packed his Xbox up in a grocery bag and tossed his luggage in the back of his car.

Sara hung up her phone as well and smiled as she began to groom herself with a comb. Once she got most of the tangles out, she grabbed an electric hair straightener and ran in through her mane, letting her mane hang limp down her back but not straight as a stick either. "I can't take my mom's car this time though... I wonder if I can still fly..." Once she sprayed on a light coat of perfume, she opened her window and silently crept out onto the roof beneath her window, before spreading her wings and giving them a few gentle flaps. "C'mon, you've done this before..." She leapt off the roof and flapped her wings, soaring off and away from her home and towards the hotel.

Draco pulled up to the hotel and parked his car next to it, looking up at the hotel sign. "I think this is it.." He walked into the hotel, where Marty had been waiting for him up front with a room key. "Hey you!" Came the friendly voice of the young light gray, slender wolf in the black tuxedo. "You must be Draco right? I'm Marty, the hotel manager." He walked towards him and held out his paw in a friendly gesture as he eyed the dragon up and down. "Wow no wonder Sara has taken such a liking to this fellow. This guy's a hunk..." He thought silently to himself. The wolf was in fact a homosexual, though he was in the closet. "I wonder if he is bisexual...or maybe gay..."

Draco was quite a bit surprised at this. "Heh, well thank you sir. You guys have been so nice to me lately. I don't know how I could repay you, really.." He took the room keys in his paw and smiled at him, before walking towards the lobby elevator. "Oh hey I forgot. What room am I in?" Draco then pressed the elevator door button and watched the floor counter count down from 25. He really hoped he was up on the 25th floor so he would have a better view of the beach.

"Heh... I could think of a way..." Marty thought to himself as he eyed Draco's rump from behind, then snapped out of it after a few seconds. "Ohh, uhh, yea. I put you in our best suite. It's up on the 25th floor, and it has a wonderful ocean front view. And ontop of complimentary breakfast I am giving you one free meal per day. I'll send you a menu of what you can get for free later, after I decide. I can't be giving everything out, you know." At that moment, the managers cell phone rang. "Oh I gotta go take this. I'll talk to you later ok?" He then walked off into his office, as the elevator stopped on the ground floor.

Draco climbed inside the elevator and pressed the button for the 25th floor, and stood back as the doors shut closed and the elevator began to move up again. Draco was still saddened over his fathers death, but the kindness of Sara and the hotel manager had made things much better for him. Getting a free beach side suite with free would could cheer up anyone, after all. "Wow.. I can't believe this is happening.." He said with a gentle smile. Everything seemed to be going great. That is..until...

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!!!!!!!! *shudder*

"Huh?! What the hell?!" The elevator car came to a sudden and abrupt stop as the lights flickered some. "Oh come on!!" The elevator had become stuck on one of the doorways that had become loose. Above him, he could hear the elevator motor churning and grinding as it struggled to pull the car up. What he didn't know, however, was the strain this was putting on the steel cable holding the car up. "Damn it you would think they would take better care of their elevators..." He looked up and spotted the emergency escape hatch on the ceiling and lifted it up, before jumping up and pulling himself on through. The alarm in the elevator finally went off, sending a loud ringing noise through the shaft.

Sara arrived at the hotel a minute later and walked into the main lobby where the loud ringing could be heard. Marty was standing infront of the elevator on his cell phone with the maintenance. "Damn it you told me you fixed the door and I paid you for it. Now we have a guest stuck in the elevator on the 15th floor. You get your big brown ass here and you fix the elevator or you're fired!" With that he hung up the phone and turned to Sara. "I'm afraid that Draco is the one stuck in the elevator, my dear. Our maintenance guy told me he got it fixed but apparently not... But don't worry he will be ok."

Sara gasped some and nodded, bringing a paw up to chew nervously on her claw. "Ohh.. Ok.." She said, stepping closer to the elevator doors and looking into the shaft through the cracks. "Well as long as you're sure he will be ok, then I won't worry that much." But down in her gut somewhere, she couldn't help but think that something was about to go wrong any second now.

Meanwhile, Draco had spotted the maintenance access ladder. But he didn't want to leave his luggage behind either, especially since he had an Xbox 360 with him. But he knew his suit case wouldn't fit through the escape hatch. "Well, maybe I can get my Xbox now and I'll grab my suitcase later." By now the steel cables were showing signs of strain, as one of the strands of steel suddenly snapped. Draco paid no mind to it and walked up to the hatch, before lowering himself in and letting himself fall to the floor.

*SNAP*

The elevator cart began to plummet towards the bottom of the shaft uncontrollably, rocketing past floor after floor. Draco quickly reached down for the backpack his Xbox was in and jumped back up the escape hatch, as the elevator continued to plummet down past the 7th floor. He quickly jumped up and grabbed onto the nearest ladder, catching himself as the car finally crashed into the bottom of the shaft. He looked down for a few seconds, before quickly climbing back up the ladder towards the 25th floor. "He better be lucky I'm not the suing type..."

As the car crashed at the bottom, it send up a cloud of dust and smoke that blew through the cracks in the door in the lobby. "Oh no.." Sara thought to herself. Marty stepped forwards and dug his claws into the door before forcing them apart, being much stronger than he looked. "Draco? Are you ok?" He hopped ontop of the elevator car and peered down the hole, sighing in relief. "He's not in the elevator car.... Hey Draco are you up there?" He called out, looking up towards the top of the shaft. "God I hope so..." He thought to himself. He would feel terrible if Draco hadn't have made it.

"Yea! I'm fine! I'm climbing up the ladder right now." Came the faint voice from way up on the 20th floor by now. Draco continued to climb, making it up to the 25 floor with a loud and tired sigh. "MY suitcase is still in there. Could you get it for me?" He then grabbed onto the door and grunted as he pulled it apart, climbing on out through the doorway and walking down the hallway, admittedly a bit annoyed despite how kind they had been. He walked down the hallway till he got to his room. "Here it is, room 2540." He opened the doorway and smiled at what he saw. A huge king sized bed infront of a large 50 inch HD television with satellite TV, as well as his own kitchen and a small living room as well. Not to mention the view of the ocean. "Not bad. Not bad at all.."
