#11 of Highschool Days

Ok, so, I know I have been rushing my stories and running scenes together into chapters. Sorry about that and hopefully this will be the last time I do that. I set myself up this time. I'm going to try to not rush this one at least.

All characters are mine, yada yada yada.

If you are under 18 don't read this, if you decide to anyways, don't get caught.

Chapter 11(Adoption)

Characters: Gideon, Raymond, Kevin, Xatrin, Troy, Ron, Carol, Clarice, and the adopted kid(You don't get his name yet :P), Dean, Paulie

Gideon woke up, smiling at Raymond's sleeping face. The snow white wolf made Gideon smile even when he didn't know it. Gideon just had to look at Raymond, his lovely wolf. Gideon didn't know why Raymond was smiling in his sleep but he hoped it was because Raymond was dreaming of him.

Gideon shook Raymond and said, "Come on love. Time to wake up."

Raymond opened his eyes, slowly blinking out the sleep that had crept into the corners. Raymond smiled when he saw Gideon's yellow eyes staring back at him. "Hmm, you've never called me love before." Raymond said.

"Why shouldn't I?" Gideon said, "We are in love aren't we?"

"Yes, I'm just saying that you've never called me love before." Raymond said, shaking his head and Gideon's rambling.

Gideon just pushed Raymond out of the bed saying, "Get dressed! We're picking up my new brother today." Gideon was excited about this, Raymond could tell because when he moved he was really jittery.

"Calm down Gideon, your going to hurt yourself." Raymond laughed.

Gideon just stuck his tongue out and started pulling on his pants. Raymond laughed before moving over to him and whispered in his ear. "You're putting your pants on backwards."

Gideon looked down and blushed. The blush was mostly hidden behind his blue scales. Raymond just laughed as he scrambled to pull the pants off so he could put them on right. Raymond was dressed by the time Gideon was fully dressed, having put his shirt on backwards as well and putting his shoes on the wrong feet.

Raymond just laughed and said, "If you're this funny when you're excited I should get you excited more often."

Gideon just scowled and punched him in the arm. Raymond was about to hit his arm back before remembering the incident they had had yesterday, he changed the course of his hand and it punched Gideon in the softer scales on his stomach.

Gideon just laughed and said, "We need to toughen you up. That tickled a little bit."

"That tickled a bit?" Raymond said smirking, "Then this will tickle a lot." Raymond started tickling Gideon's stomach, making Gideon fall onto the floor kicking and laughing.

"S-stop." Gideon said, gasping for breath now.

Raymond stopped tickling him and said, "I got you back."

"If you're done tickling my brother we have to leave in ten minutes." Clarice said, putting her hand on Raymond's shoulder and making him jump.

"How long were you standing there?" Raymond asked, disappointed that he hadn't heard her. The bronze dragon could walk like a cat when she wanted to.

Her yellow eyes grinned mischievously, "From the time you woke up to now. Couldn't let you guys start doing something and making us late to pick up our new brother." Clarice sighed, "I wish they would at least tell us what species he was."

Gideon just shrugged and said, "It doesn't matter. As long as he's not a little brat I'm fine."

Clarice sighed and said, "I don't think he's going to be a brat."

Gideon just nodded and said, "Let's go. I want to meet him."

Gideon and Clarice practically bounced down the stairs, each of their moments making their bodies go at least two inches higher than usual when they walked. They almost fell down the stairs, causing Raymond to laugh. When they were all safely in the car, it bounced from them shaking their legs.

"Will you two stop shaking!" Their mother shouted at them. Gideon and Clarice struggled to stop their legs from bouncing. They managed to stop finally and she turned around and said, "Thank you." as their father started the car.

His father was a more reckless driver than Clarice and he drove fast. His eyes always seemed to glint with joy when he was driving. Gideon guessed it made him feel younger after having four kids, two of which were gay.

His father was driving really fast and he bumped a curb, he laughed as the car shook for a second causing Gideon's mother, who wasn't expecting it, to scream. His mother slapped his father and stared out the window. They were on the highway now, driving past other cars, his father slipping in between the smallest gaps possible. Gideon always admired his father for having such good reflexes even in old age.

Everytime it looked like they were going to crash his mother would grip the armrests of the passenger seat as tight as she could, Raymond would squeal slightly, Gideon would yell "Woohoo!", and Clarice would scream, "Watch out!" at her father.

His father just laughed. He knew how long this trip would take if he drove slower, especially with Gideon and Clarice in the car. Of course, Raymond was snuggling into Gideon in the backseat and Gideon had his arm around Raymond's shoulder and Raymond was laying his head against Gideon's chest.

Ron couldn't help but smile even though he was slightly disgusted at two males loving each other. He pushed that out of his head. He wanted his son to be happy and if Raymond made him happy he was ok with that. He wasn't paying attention and his wife screamed, he snapped out of his trance and swerved out of the way just in time.

"Ok, no more thinking while driving." Carol said.

Ron just chuckled. "We're almost there anyways. See how much faster it is with me driving?"

Gideon looked out the window and notice that they were there. Gideon sighed and said, "Finally."

Raymond just looked up with a look of hurt on his face. "Is it really that bad sitting next to me?"

"No, I want to meet my new little brother." Gideon told him.

Raymond nodded and whispered, "You know we aren't going to be able to do stuff with him around."

Gideon sighed and whispered back, "Yes. At least, until we decide to tell him."

Raymond nodded as they pulled into a parking space. Gideon and Clarice jumped out of the car, tapping their feet impatiently as they waited for their parents and Raymond to get out. Raymond, Ron, and Carol just laughed at their impatience.

Gideon and Clarice were at the door by the time everyone else was halfway there. They were more anxious than excited now and they weren't bouncing anymore.

They all walked in, finally, and the administrator came up to them. "Hello Mrs. and Mr. Restin. Wyatt has been anxious about this all day. He's right over there." the administrator pointed towards a small fox.

He looked up as Gideon and Clarice approached. Gideon said, "Hi Wyatt."

"Who are you?" Wyatt asked suspiciously. He had been beaten up before, and not just by kids but also by his adoptive parents.

"I'm your new brother, Gideon." Gideon said, holding out his hand.

"H-hi Gideon." Wyatt said as he shook Gideon's hand, Gideon's larger hand completely engulfing Wyatt's. Wyatt was small, only 4'5", he had burnt orange fur and startlingly green eyes. The fox's fur was white on his neck and Gideon guessed that it was like that on the rest of his torso as well. He had a big puffy, tail. His fur looked soft.

Clarice said, "Hi Wyatt, I'm one of your new sisters." She held out her hand and Wyatt took it, his hand being engulfed again.

"One of my new sisters?" Wyatt asked. "Where's the other one?"

"She's with my cousin in Texas. My cousin just got married." She said and Wyatt's ears drooped. Clarice caught her mistake and said, "Our cousin I mean."

Raymond joined them and said, "Hiya Wyatt." He grinned at the small fox and the fox backed up against the wall, cowering in fear. Raymond was confused for a moment.

"What's wrong?" Gideon asked. "Just my... friend Raymond."

Gideon felt awkward about calling Raymond his friend instead of his boyfriend but he managed. Wyatt relaxed a little bit before taking Raymond's outstretched hand. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else."

Gideon said, "Has someone been picking on you?"

Wyatt nodded before whispering, "More like everyone."

Gideon pulled him into a hug and said, "Well, if anyone bullies you at school tell me." Gideon smiled at the little fox and he smiled back. Wyatt really had hope for the first time in years. Maybe this family was the one.

Carol and Ron came over with the administrator and the administrator said, "Are you ready to go to your new home Wyatt?"

Wyatt nodded before looking into his bag and said, "I forgot something my room!"

Clarice smiled and said, "I'll take your bag to the car. You go get what you need."

"I'll come with you." Gideon said, smiling at the little fox. The fox stood up and started walking, Gideon close behind. "Do you want me to wait out here?" Gideon asked as they reached a door in the long, gray hallway.

The fox nodded and went into the room. He quickly walked to his bunk and reached under it to grab a music box. He turned around and to his dismay, there was a snow white wolf standing right behind him. The wolf grinned before picking him up by his collar and said, "What are you doing you little fag."

"N-nothing." Wyatt replied.

"You're a liar." the wolf said, slamming Wyatt into the wall. Wyatt let out a yelp and Gideon heard. Gideon burst into the room to see the wolf pounding Wyatt in the stomach mercilessly. Gideon ran over and pulled the wolf off of Wyatt.

Gideon picked the wolf up by the collar and said, "What do you think you were doing?"

The wolf just smirked and said, "Teaching that fag a little lesson."

Gideon smirked and said, "That little fag is my new little brother." The wolf's expression slowly turned to horror as Gideon slammed the obviously older wolf into the wall. "And you're going to leave him alone. Aren't you?"

Gideon slammed him against the wall again and the wolf said, "Y-yes." Gideon dropped the wolf and walked over to Wyatt, helping him up off the ground.

"Are you ok?" Gideon asked the little fox. Wyatt was crying and Gideon saw the music box with the lid broken off and the crank snapped. "Oh." Gideon said, bending over and picking up the music box. "I can fix that for you when we go home."

Wyatt looked up at him with a smile and sniffled. "Really?" he asked.

Gideon smiled and said, "Like new."

Wyatt took the dragon's hand and Gideon swung him up onto his shoulders. Gideon gasped as Wyatt's weight settled onto him but he could carry him. Gideon walked out of the room, ducking so Wyatt wouldn't hit his head on the door.

Wyatt laughed at the sudden change in height. Gideon looked up and smiled at him. "So, uh, Wyatt. Was what that wolf said true?"

Wyatt grew cold and asked, "Is what true?"

"Are you really gay?" Gideon asked him.

Wyatt said, "No! Of course not."

Gideon stopped and picked Wyatt off of his shoulders. He set the fox on the ground and knelt down so he could look him in the eyes. "Wyatt, I promise you that no matter what you are I won't hate you."

Wyatt thought for a moment, tear's forming in his eyes. "O-ok, I-I am." Wyatt looked down, not wanting to see the look of disgust he knew would be on Gideon's face. He was shocked for a moment when he felt Gideon's lips on his forehead.

Gideon pulled him into a hug. "I don't care that you're gay Wyatt. I am too." Wyatt looked up in shock and Gideon smiled. "And Raymond's not just my friend. He's my boyfriend." Wyatt was happy that someone in his new family would accept him. "Come on, everyone's waiting."

Gideon swung Wyatt back onto his shoulder's and started running through the gray, depressing hallways. Wyatt hung onto Gideon's neck for his own life. This was great, he thought. They bursted outside into the parking lot that was bathed in sun light.

Gideon picked Wyatt off of his back and Wyatt skipped happily behind Gideon. They got to the car and Gideon realized there wasn't going to be enough room. He knocked on his dad's window and said, "How are we doing this?"

"Wyatt is going to have to sit on your lap." Ron told him.

Gideon nodded and moved around to the car door. He got in and picked Wyatt up, sitting him gently on his lap. He pulled the seatbelt around them both. It was a little uncomfortable for Wyatt but he was just happy he was going to a new home.

Ron started the car and started driving as Carol turned around and said, "What took you so long any ways? And what's with the music box?"

Gideon looked down at Wyatt and said, "Wyatt went into his room to get the music box and one of his old bullies was there. I barged in on them while the kid was punching him in the stomach." Gideon grimaced.

Ron slammed on the breaks and turned around. "Did you stop him?"

Gideon nodded and said, "I beat the living daylights out of him."

Ron smiled and said, "Good. No one is going to beat up my new son."

Wyatt smiled back at him. He was surprised that he didn't yell at Gideon. Whenever he had gotten into a fight while he was staying with any of his families, even if he had gotten the shit beat out of him without hitting the other kid.

Wyatt coughed and a little bit of blood flew into his hand. Gideon noticed and said, "Oh my god. Are you alright?"

Wyatt nodded and said, "I'm fine. This is normal."

Gideon just got angrier and started wringing his hands. "That kid better hope I never see him again."

Wyatt stared at Gideon in awe. He was incredibly happy that the family that had adopted him gave him a brother that would take to him so easily. He knew that Gideon barely knew him but Gideon was protecting him like Gideon had known him since birth.

The rest of the ride was silent. Wyatt leaned back into Gideon and fell asleep. Gideon just smiled at the kit. Clarice looked over once and saw Wyatt and let out a quiet, "Awww!"

Raymond mimicked her as he looked over, a silent look of jealousy in his eyes. Gideon patted his shoulder and Raymond smiled as he leaned his head onto Gideon's shoulder. Raymond fell asleep quickly.

Gideon leaned his head onto Raymond's head and fell asleep as well. Clarice looked over again and smiled. She knew that Gideon wouldn't be able to keep Raymond away when he had that jealous look on his face. Gideon couldn't stand to emotionally hurt anybody. Physically is a different story altogether.

Carol looked back and smiled at the three boys. They were all pretty much her sons, and she loved them all. Of course, if Raymond broke her sons heart he was going to have hell to pay. She was thinking about all of this so severely she didn't notice them pulling into the driveway of their big white house.

Wyatt was up and staring in awe at the big house. Gideon grinned down at the kit and said, "What's the matter kit?"

"I've never seen a house so big." Wyatt replied.

Ron broke in and said, "Hey Gideon, Wyatt has to stay in your room until we get the basement fixed up for him."

Gideon saw the look of dismay on Wyatt's face and asked him, "What's the matter now?"

Wyatt just looked at him and said, "I don't like basements. That's where all my other families put me when they didn't want to look at me."

"Oh." He spoke up to his dad then, "Hey dad. I'll take the basement, Wyatt can have my room."

Wyatt was shocked and said, "You don't have to..."

Gideon cut him off and said, "I want you to feel welcome here, not like you're a piece of trash. You're going to live in my room. I'm not taking no for an answer."

"O-ok. Thank you." Wyatt said, he hugged Gideon at the waist and Gideon hugged him back. Raymond looked jealous and Gideon mouthed, "He's my brother!"

"Adoptive brother!" Raymond mouthed back.

"You're my only love." Gideon mouthed back.

Raymond and Gideon took Wyatt inside and up to Gideon's room. Gideon smiled as Wyatt took in the room. Gideon noticed it was only 10:00 A.M. He and Raymond had plenty of time before the dance.

Gideon looked at Wyatt and said, "How would you like to meet some of my friends?"

Wyatt looked excited and said, "I would love to."

Gideon smiled and grabbed his phone. He called Kevin up and said, "Hey man, can you and Xatrin hang out today? Oh ya, and Dean?"

"Sure, we have Troy with us. Dean is out with Paulie but I'll pick you guys up." Kevin said.

"Cool." Gideon said. He hung up the phone. "OK, so, Kevin, Xatrin, and Troy are who we are going to hang out with." Gideon smiled and said, "And Troy is only a year older than you Wy."

Wyatt smiled and said, "Awesome!"

Raymond patted him on the back. "Oh ya, and Raymond. Wyatt knows about us. It's ok." Gideon smiled as he pulled Raymond into a hug.

Raymond smiled. "So, Wyatt. Anything you want to do while we're waiting?"

Wyatt looked around and his eyes fell on Gideon's Nintendo Wii. "Could we play your Wii?"

Gideon smiled at him and said, "Of course." Gideon turned on the Wii and grabbed out two controllers.

Raymond was confused for a sec before saying, "Aren't you gonna play?"

Gideon shook his head and said, "I doubt Wyatt has played a Wii before. I'm going to show him how to play so it's fair." Raymond just nodded.

Gideon let Wyatt pick out a game. He eventually chose Wii Sports. Raymond knew that shouldn't take long to teach Wyatt how to play. Once the game was loaded Wyatt picked out one of the games that was on there. He chose bowling.

"OK, Wyatt." Gideon said, taking a hold of his hand. "What you need to do, is hold down the B button," Gideon moved Wyatt's thumb to the right button, "pull back your arm," he pulled back Wyatt's arm, "and swing it back forward and let go of B." Wyatt tried it and was happy that he didn't get a gutter ball.

Wyatt didn't know much about sports but bowling was one he was really good at. Raymond and Wyatt played through a game and Raymond won. Of course, Raymond knew the tricks to the game and how to get easy strikes but Wyatt still did good for a beginner.

Gideon heard a knock on the door downstairs and said, "That will be Kevin. Come on guys."

Raymond and Wyatt followed Gideon down the stairs. Gideon opened the door to reveal the white tiger. "Hey Gideon. What's up?" Kevin saw Wyatt and said, "Who's this?"

Gideon smiled and said, "He's my new little brother. Try not to creep him out."

Kevin just chuckled and said, "We'll see." He added to Wyatt, "Hi I'm Kevin." he stretch out his pawn and Wyatt took it.

"I'm Wyatt." Wyatt looked down and saw that Kevin's paw engulfed his. He hated being so small.

Kevin smiled and said, "Come on, let's go."

Kevin took Raymond, Wyatt, and Gideon out to his van. Wyatt got in first and took a seat next to the tiger named Troy. Wyatt looked at Troy and examined his entire body. Troy was a little taller than him but not much, which made him feel better. Troy had beautiful white fur that shined in the sun.

His green eyes were tantalizing. Wyatt wanted to rub his hands through Troy's soft fur. He wanted to feel Troy's hands on his body. Wyatt shook the thoughts out of his head. He said, "Hi, I'm Wyatt." He held out his hand and Troy looked at him for the first time.

Troy took it and said, "Hi, I'm Troy."

Gideon finally got in and said, "Xatrin, Troy. This is my new brother, Wyatt. Don't creep him out."

Troy just said, "Ok." He looked away from Wyatt so the urge to kiss him on the spot wouldn't creep up on him. Wyatt was a very attractive fox and Troy wanted him so badly. Troy didn't know if he was gay or not so he didn't even ask.

"So, where are we going?" Kevin asked as he started the van.

"Let's go to the mall." Gideon said.

"The mall it is" Kevin said. Kevin started driving. It was quite a drive to the mall.

Everyone was holding conversations with somebody else except for Wyatt and Troy. Gideon snuck into the back and said, "What's the matter guys. You're so quiet."

"I don't know these people." Wyatt whispered.

"I'm just naturally quiet." Troy said. Wyatt was hypnotized by the sing-song sound of Troy's voice.

"Get to know one another." Gideon said, "I'm sure you will be great friends."

"Maybe later. I don't really want to talk right now." Troy said.

"What's the matter?" Gideon asked him.

"My parent's got a letter from the school. They're pushing me back into the sixth grade since my grades started slipping." Troy's ears drooped.

"Well hey, that's good. You can help Wyatt out. He's going into sixth grade next year too."

Wyatt smiled that he would know someone next year. Troy let out a half-hearted smile. Wyatt was hurt by that smile for some reason. He felt like Troy didn't like him. Gideon moved back up to sit with Raymond.

Wyatt watched Raymond snuggle into Gideon and he imagined himself doing that to Troy. The van was loud with Kevin and Xatrin's conversation the whole way to the mall. Once there they parked in the huge parking lot of Alton Square Mall.

They all got out and Gideon picked Wyatt up and put him on his shoulder's again. Raymond looked at him, jealous again. "Come on Raymond. He's been to five different families. He needs some happiness."

Raymond nodded. Gideon may have said that but the jealousy was still there. They walked inside the huge building, their feet clapping on the tiled floors. "Where do you want to go first Wyatt?" Gideon asked him as he heard Wyatt's stomach growl. "Hehe, how about the food court?"

Wyatt nodded vigorously and Gideon grabbed Raymond's hand and pulled him towards the food court, Wyatt still on his shoulder's. Gideon pulled Wyatt down as he saw a group of college students come around the corner.

Gideon knew them because they were early graduated seniors and they had gone straight into college. Gideon also knew that they were stronger than he was. Kevin, Xatrin, and Troy caught up to them and they walked straight past the college students without them noticing. Gideon sighed in relief.

They were in the food court, restaurants lining the walls of the circular room. "What do you want Wyatt."

Wyatt thought for a moment before saying, "Pizza."

Gideon nodded and asked Raymond, "What do you want love?"

Raymond said, "Tacos."

"Take Wyatt and find a seat. I'll get the food." Gideon said. He jogged off towards the pizza place first since it took longer. He remembered that he hadn't asked Wyatt what kind of pizza. He just shrugged.

"Can I get a small cheese pizza?" Gideon asked the cashier. The cashier reached into the oven and pulled out a freshly made cheese pizza.

"That'll be 8$" the cashier said. Gideon gave the man the money and then ran across the food court to get the tacos.

He ordered four tacos for Raymond. He thought about what he wanted for a second before walking next door to the Chinese place to order Sweet and Sour Chicken.

He looked around once he had all the food and found where Raymond and Wyatt were. He walked over to them and sat down. He gave Raymond his tacos and Wyatt his cheese pizza. "I hope cheese is ok. I don't know what kind you like." Gideon explained.

Wyatt smiled and said, "Cheese is fine. Thank you Gideon."

"Where did Dean, Xatrin, and Troy go?" Gideon asked Raymond.

"Game store." Raymond grunted around a mouthful of food.

Gideon nodded and started eating his chicken. Once they were all done, savoring the taste of the delicious food they had just eaten, they walked down to the game store. Gideon and Raymond took Wyatt to look around the store. Wyatt was looking at a PS2 game called .Hack:// Quarantine.

"What is that game about?" Gideon asked him.

Wyatt looked up and said, "It's the fourth game of the series, I have the first three in my backpack. I've beaten all three of them. It's about an online game called, "The World" and this guys starts playing it with his friend and on his first day in the game they go to an area that has a virus in it and the virus kills his friend's character and in real life his friend goes into a coma. It's really cool."

Gideon smiled at the look on Wyatt's face. When they were done looking Gideon said, "Hey Raymond, can you take Wyatt to sit outside on the bench for a minute?"

"Sure." Raymond said. He took Wyatt's hand and led him outside to a bench.

Gideon walked back to where his little brother had seen .Hack and picked up the last copy of the game. He walked to the cashier and said, "I'd like to buy this game."

The cashier nodded and said, "That'll be 50$."

Gideon almost choked. 50$ for a video game! That's crazy. He pulled a 50 out of his wallet and gave it to the guy. He got a bag and stowed the game safely in his pants pocket.

Wyatt was fidgeting on the bench next to Raymond. Gideon smiled at his youthful restlessness. "So, Wyatt. How's the condition on the rest of your clothes, cause these are literally falling apart."

"Umm, they're about the same." Wyatt said.

Gideon shook his head, "Mom and dad will you buy you new clothes. I'm out of money." Gideon hadn't said that in a long time. Kevin, Xatrin, and Troy came up to them then. Kevin and Xatrin had an urgent look on their face.

"Do you know how long we've been here?" Xatrin asked.

Gideon looked at his watch and said, "Oh shit, the dance."

"Come on guys, time to go." Kevin said. They all practically ran out then, hopping into Kevin's van. Kevin pushed the pedal as far down as it could go as he rushed toward the tux place.

"Where are we going?" Gideon asked, forgetting about the tuxes.

"Getting our tuxes, duh." Kevin said.

Gideon looked over at Troy and noticed his ears were drooped. "What's the matter Troy?" Gideon asked him.

"I'm not going to the dance so I don't have anything to do." Troy told him.

Gideon looked at Wyatt and whispered, "Why don't you invite him to spend the night. I'm sure mom and dad will say yes."

Wyatt thought for a moment before saying, "Hey Troy. Want to spend the night?"

Troy looked excited and said, "Sure! If my parents let me."

Wyatt smiled. Gideon took out his phone and called his parents. "Hey mom." He said when his mother finally picked up. "Can Wyatt have a friend stay over?"

"Sure. We're happy he has friends already." She said. He could tell she was smiling even if he couldn't see her.

"Thanks." Gideon said as he hung up. He handed the phone to Troy and said, "Call your parents. Mine said it was alright."

Troy took Gideon's phone and dialed his phone number. After a short conversation with his parents he hung up and said, "I can. I have to go get some stuff first."

Kevin laughed and said, "Your stuff is in the back. Remember? You were going stay at Xatrin's tonight. Wyatt needs the company though."

Troy nodded and said, "Oh yeah." Kevin slammed on his breaks and slid into a parking space. He darted out the door with five receipts in hand. He came back out with five tuxedos, wrapped in plastic.

"Dean and Paulie are at your house Gideon. They called while I was inside." Kevin told him. They drove to Gideon's house and got there very quickly, passing up houses that looked like big blurs of brown and red. They all got out and walked inside the big white house.

Dean and Paulie were sitting in the front room, Paulie already in her dress. She looked very beautiful in the blue dress that had glitter all over it. It really looked good and it made her fur stand out even more. Kevin through Dean's tuxedo at him. "Get dressed."

Gideon looked at the clock. It was 5 P.M. Man they had spent a lot of time in that video game store. Each boy found their tuxedo while Wyatt took Troy into the kitchen so his adoptive parents could meet him.

Gideon looked at Raymond and laughed. Raymond was wondering why Gideon was laughing when he looked in the mirror and noticed that he had a whole bunch of fur standing straight up on his head.

Gideon ran up to his room quickly to grab a comb. On his way down he used the black comb to comb his very dark hair, making sure none of it stood up on the back of his head. He combed it straight back so his long hair hung like silk down to his shoulders.

When he got back to the living room he found Raymond trying to straighten his glistening, snow white fur with his hand. He laughed at Raymond's failed attempts and stood in front of him. He took the comb and combed down the fur on Raymond's face. He slowly combed the hair on Raymond's head back so none of it would get into Raymond's eyes.

When he was finally finished combing all of the snow white fur so that it was flat Kevin and Dean were pretty much pushing them out the door. Gideon yelled, "Bye Mom!" as he disappeared behind the door.

In the kitchen Wyatt and Troy were eating the hamburgers Carol had made for them. Wyatt and Troy were both amazed at how well Wyatt's new mother could cook. Wyatt had never had a homemade meal this good before. Then again, he barely ever had a homemade meal.

His new mother turned around and said, "So, Wyatt. How's your day been so far?"

Wyatt smiled and said, "It's been the best day of my life." Wyatt's tail was wagging and Carol laughed. Wyatt looked confused and said, "What?"

Carol said, "Your tail is wagging."

Wyatt looked embarrassed and said, "Woops!"

Clarice was standing in the doorway and said, "I think it makes him look cuter than he is." Wyatt blushed and Clarice laughed. "So, now that you're back and my brother took you out I say it's time I spend some time with my new brother."

Wyatt smiled and said, "Ok."

Clarice looked at Troy and said, "Who's this?"

"Oh, I'm Troy." the small tiger said as he held out his hand.

"Hi Troy, nice to meet you." She looked back at Wyatt and said, "How would you a Troy like to go see a movie with me tonight?"

Wyatt just said, "I've never been to a movie theater before."

Clarice looked sad at how deprived his life is and said, "Let's fix that."

Wyatt smiled and said, "Would you like to go Troy?" He figured that he should do whatever his guest wanted to.

"Sure. It sounds great." Troy said with a smile. "But I have no money." His tail drooped at that.

"That's alright, I can pay for you." Clarice said, watching as the small tiger's white face looked up with a smile.

"Are you and Gideon always doing that for friends? You guys spend so much money." Troy said.

Clarice just laughed and said, "Yes, but the difference between Gideon and I is that I make my own money. I don't mooch off my parents."

Carol rolled her eyes and said, "When are you going to pay me back for the gas money I gave you today. Or for the stereo I bought you last month after your's blew out."

Clarice blushed and said, "Soon." She looked at Wyatt and Troy and said, "Anyways! Let's go guys."

Wyatt and Troy jumped off their chairs, Troy landed lightly on the floor but Wyatt slipped and fell. Troy and Wyatt laughed and Troy helped him up. "You alright?" Troy asked him.

Wyatt nodded and said, "I"m used to it. I'm really clumsy."

"Try not to break anything." Clarice said ruffling his hair. Wyatt took it the wrong way and his ears drooped. "I meant any of your bones."

Wyatt blushed again and said, "Oh. Sorry, it's just that one family kicked me out because of me being a klutz."

Clarice just sighed and said, "They sound heartless. Now come on. We need to go if we're going to catch anything."

Wyatt walked right behind Clarice with Troy following just a little behind. Clarice unlocked the doors to her car and Troy and Wyatt climbed into the back seat. Clarice quickly got into the blue, 2009 Ford Taurus' drivers seat.

She pulled out of the black top driveway and swung her car towards the move theater down the street. She was happy they didn't have to drive far since she was running out of money for gas. Gas was expensive these days.

She pulled into the large parking lot which was practically empty since all the highschool students were at the dance. They walked in and Clarice sighed, there were three movies playing. Two were romances and the other one a horror movie.

"Ok, what do you want to see guys?" Clarice asked.

Troy and Wyatt looked at each before saying, at the same time, "The horror movie." They couldn't say the name because of how hard it was to pronounce.

Clarice just nodded before buying the tickets. "Do you guys want some popcorn or a soda?"

"Yes, please." Wyatt said.

"I really don't want you to spend more money than you need to." Troy told her.

"It doesn't matter." Clarice said. "Do you want a soda?"

"Yes, please." Troy said, feeling a little bad.

Clarice just smiled. She walked to the snack counter and bought a large popcorn and three medium cokes. She gave each of the boys a coke before they found the appropriate movie theater.

They sat down in the third row, the theater was practically empty. The previews were playing so the lights were still on. Wyatt was shaking nervously, he got scared easily and he didn't want to disturb the others. He was afraid Clarice was going to get annoyed.

The lights dimmed and the movie started, a gruesome field with dead bodies lying everywhere, floating in pools of blood that shone in the morning sun. You could hear the explosions of bullets flying out of the guns of soldiers and the whistle of bombs being dropped.

This got Wyatt and Troy's attention. They sat up straight watching the movie with interest. They sat like that for a while until the battle ended and the scene switched to a black screen that said, "Three months later."

From there it got scary. They continued watching the movie with interest. Somebody popped up behind the main character with a bloody knife and Wyatt jumped, covering his eyes and putting his head onto Troy's shoulder. Troy was shocked for a moment before reaching around and patting Wyatt on the back.

He leaned down and whispered, "What are you doing?" He had to admit he liked this feeling.

Wyatt jumped again and said, "Sorry, I thought you were Clarice for a second."

Troy's excitement dulled at this and said, "It's alright."

Wyatt looked up and smiled at him before putting his head back onto Troy's shoulder. Clarice looked over and was a little shocked but smiled anyways. She hadn't been expecting that.

Something else scary came up while Wyatt was watching, his head on Troy's shoulder with Troy's arm around him, he bent his head down and buried it into Troy's shoulder so he wouldn't see what happened. Wyatt really liked this feeling and he thought that Troy did too, otherwise he would have pushed Wyatt away. Maybe he was just feeling sorry for him.

Troy was having his doubts too. He thought that Wyatt might just be really scared and didn't realize what he was doing. Troy bent his head down onto Wyatt's to hide his eyes too. He enjoyed the feeling while he could.

The movie went by pretty fast to Troy. Mostly because he had the most beautiful fox he had ever seen with his head on his shoulder. The lights turned on and Wyatt stood up and stretched. Troy was sad for a moment as he mimicked the fox.

Clarice smiled at them both and said, "How did you like the movie?"

Wyatt grinned from ear to ear and said, "It was awesome!"

Troy nodded and said, "It was cool."

"Great." Clarice said, she led them back to her car and opened the door for them. She was disappointed to see them scoot to opposite sides and look out the windows. They were so cute together. She just shook her head and got into the driver's seat.

The ride home was silent. The atmosphere wasn't exactly cold but it was slowly getting there. They got home and walked inside, Wyatt noticed Troy's stuff was still on the couch and Wyatt said, "I'll take up to Gideon's room so you can put your stuff there."

Troy nodded and followed Wyatt up to Gideon's room. Troy looked around in amazement when they stepped in. He sat down on the futon and looked at his lap. Wyatt sat next to him and said, "Are you ok?"

Troy just nodded and said, "I'm fine."

"What was that back in the theater?" Wyatt asked, pushing him to find out if he was gay. Troy was very attractive.

"You looked really scared." Troy explained, not really thinking Wyatt was gay too.

"Oh." Wyatt said, sounding disappointed.

Troy looked at him and thought, to hell with it. "Hey Wyatt."

Wyatt looked at him and said, "Ya?"

Troy chickened out and said, "Why did you bury your head in my shoulder. I know you were scared but Clarice was on the other side of you."

Wyatt just looked down and murmured, "Because I think you're handsome."

Troy was shocked for a moment before saying, "Really?"

Wyatt just nodded, stood up, and turned around, "You hate me now right?"

Troy just stood up and walked behind Wyatt. He hugged him and said, "No, because you're the most gorgeous fox I've ever seen."

Wyatt looked up shocked and Troy smiled down at him. "Really?" Wyatt asked.

Troy nodded and Wyatt squealed with glee. He was bouncing up and down and Troy said, "Calm down." Wyatt blushed under his burnt orange fur. Troy just giggled.

Wyatt turned around and hugged him back. The small fox looked up at the tiger's face and Troy leaned down and planted a kiss on his lips. The small fox was shocked for a moment before relenting to Troy's kiss.

Troy was nervous because he had never kissed anyone before. He licked at Wyatt's lips and Wyatt opened his muzzle slightly and Troy slipped his tongue in. Wyatt and Troy wrestled tongues for a moment before pulling back for air. They sat down on the futon in an awkward silence before Wyatt leaned his head onto Troy's shoulder and said, "That was amazing."

Troy nodded. He looked at the clock and said, "Jeez, it's 8:30. That movie was long."

Wyatt nodded said, "What do you want to do now?"

Troy said, "I don't know. Video games?"

Wyatt smiled and said, "Sure."

They walked over to Gideon's TV and Wyatt said, "Wii or PS3?"

"PS3." Troy answered him.

Wyatt looked through Gideon's game and had an idea. "I have a pretty fun PS2 game. It's single player though. You can play it and I can help you."

Troy shrugged, "Sure, why not."

Wyatt smiled and went over to his small bag of belongings. He took out the game, .Hack Infection. He put it in and it went through the opening icons to the main menu. He selected new game and handed the controller to Troy.

He let Troy select his name. And the game started. He picked the Icon of the game's desktop that said, "The World" and chose it. The game loaded up and Wyatt started showing him the controls. Wyatt loved holding his hands and prolonged showing him the controls to make sure he had each one so he could hold his hands longer.

Once he had finished showing Troy the controls he let go of his hand and leaned his head onto Troy's shoulder as he played through the pointless tutorial now that Wyatt had shown him the controls.

Troy went into the first dungeon and Wyatt pointed each way he should go. Troy got to the first cut scene and was shocked at the graphics considering this was an older game.

Troy played the game for a while, getting pretty far in. He really enjoyed playing it. He got far enough into it to get two new party members, Mistral and Blackrose.

Troy saved his game so he could quit for the night and looked at Wyatt who was snoring softly on his shoulder. He chuckled and shook him a little. Wyatt woke up and said, "Huh?"

"You fell asleep." Troy said. Wyatt blushed and Troy burst out laughing. "I think it's time for bed anyways."

Wyatt nodded before getting up to turn off the PS3. Troy snuck up behind him and as he stood up Troy hugged him and turned him around to kiss him again. Wyatt was shocked but he let Troy kiss him, loving it. He felt Troy licking his furry lips again and he complied to Troy's wishes. Troy stuck his tongue into Wyatt's muzzle, exploring the fox's warm and moist muzzle.

When Troy finally pulled off for air Wyatt smiled and said, "That was amazing, again."

Troy chuckled and a thought occurred to him. "Hey uhh, Wyatt."

Wyatt looked at him and said, "Ya?"

"Will uhh, will you be my boyfriend?" Troy asked, blushing as he spoke.

Wyatt looked excited and said, "Really? Of course I will!" He jumped towards Troy and wrapped him in his arms.

They went to the futon that was set up for Wyatt's bed and they lay down together, cuddling into each other's warm fur. "I think I'm in love with you, Wyatt." Troy whispered into his ear.

"I think I love you too, Troy." Wyatt whispered back. Troy smiled and snuggled into Wyatt again. They both fell asleep, dreaming warm dreams of being happy with the person in their arms. Wyatt's were quickly replaced with nightmares but he continued sleeping in the warm arms of his new boyfriend.

Clarice closed the door softly and smiled. They really were cute together. She walked down to the kitchen and her mother looked up from the crossword puzzle she was doing. She saw Clarice smiling and said, "What are you smiling about?"

Clarice said, "I'll show you."

Her mother looked confused and followed her to Gideon's room. She Shh'd her mother to make sure she was quiet and opened the door. Carol saw the two boys cuddling on the futon and she said, "Awww!"

Clarice closed the door again and said, "They're cute together aren't they?"

Carol nodded and said, "That's the third gay son we've had in this house." She shook her head and said, "Oh well, he's still our son."

"You can't say your disappointed. He's a good kid. So what if he's gay?" Clarice asked her.

Carol nodded and said, "He is a good kid. I don't care if he's gay I'm just worried about your father's reaction."

Clarice just shook her head, "Dad won't care. How was dinner with Alec anyways?"

Carol just said, "It was good. Your dad liked your brother's boyfriend."

Clarice just nodded and went to bed.

Chapter 12 (Dinner with Alec)

Characters: Alec, Carol, Ron, Alec's boyfriend(You don't get his name yet either.)

Carol was working hard in the kitchen to get dinner done before Alec showed up. Ron came into the kitchen and hugged her from behind. "What's for dinner?"

"Spaghetti." Carol told him.

"When is Alec going to be here with his... boyfriend?" Ron asked her.

"In a half an hour." Carol said as she finished the spaghetti. She put the meatballs into the oven to heat up. "Dinner will be done by the time Alec gets here." Carol nodded in satisfaction.

Carol and Ron went to sit down in the living room, Carol leaning softly against Ron as they watched T.V. They jumped when they heard the bell ring and Carol ran to answer it. Alec and his boyfriend were standing on the porch, both looking a little nervous. "Alec! You're here early."

"We expected the ride to be longer." Alec said as he stepped inside. They walked into the living room and Alec said, "Mom, Dad, this is my boyfriend, Charlie."

Ron stood up and held out his hand, "Hello Charlie, nice to meet you."

Charlie was a black bear with deep brown eyes, he was tall, at least 7 and a half feet, and had huge muscles. From the top of his head a long stream of brown hair ran down his neck. He wasn't that big but he was still intimidating. "Hello, Sir. Nice to meet you."

Ron smiled and said, "Call me Ron."

Charlie just nodded and said, "Ok."

Carol spoke up and said, "Hi Charlie, I'm Carol." She took his hand. He bent over and kissed her hand. "Well well, he sure is a gentlemen." Carol laughed as Charlie blushed. "Anyways, dinner will be done in a half-hour."

Alec looked at her and smiled and said, "If I remember correctly, your food was always good."

Carol laughed and said, "Your memory is good then."

Ron shook his head and said, "More like very bad." Carol slapped him until he exclaimed, "I was kidding!"

"You better have been." Carol huffed. She turned away and Ron shook his head but when she turned back he was nodding.

Alec laughed and said, "You guys haven't changed a bit."

"Maybe a tiny bit." Ron said, "You don't see me kicking you out right now do you?"

Alec just frowned and said, "Did you have to bring that up? I'd rather just forget it."

Ron shook his head and said, "I can't forget it, I remember the look on your face when I said the words. It hurts to remember it."

Alec just nodded, "It hurt a lot to get kicked out of my home."

Ron just nodded and said, "I'm very sorry I did it now."

"I know you are dad." Alec said.

Ron nodded and said, "Gideon's lucky he had Clarice. It would have been a repeat of you."

Alec nodded and said, "Clarice sounds like an awesome sister. Where is she anyways?"

"She took our adopted son and one of his friends to a movie." Carol told him.

Alec looked shocked and said, "When did you adopt a kid?"

"Today." Carol said, "We felt so sorry for him. He really is a good kid."

Alec sighed and said, "Great, one more person I don't get to meet yet."

Carol just laughed and said, "Christmas is coming up soon."

Alec said, "Very soon, only three weeks. Exactly."

"Anyways," Ron broke in, "So, Charlie, play any sports? Or watch them."

Charlie nodded and said, "I played high school football and I follow the Rams pretty closely."

Ron sat up straight and said, "Really?"

Charlie nodded and said, "The Rams are awesome."

Ron sighed and said, "Ya, but their last season sucked."

Charlie nodded and said, "That's true."

Ron said, "I've got a video of one of the super bowls they won, you probably didn't see it. It was quite a bit ago."

Charlie said, "Cool."

Ron just smiled and said, "Want to watch it?"

"Of course!" Charlie exclaimed. Alec and Carol sighed and Ron and Charlie laughed at their mates reactions. "I can see where Alec got his love for sports from." Charlie added sarcastically.

Ron sighed and said, "Alec never did like sports."

Charlie nodded, "Except when he was watching me during high school games." He smirked when Alec blushed, the small amount of red showing only making his scales look darker. He punched Charlie playfully in the arm.

Ron couldn't help but smile. He knew he had grown up to believe that god hated gays but seeing his sons with their boyfriends made him disagree with those beliefs. How could god damn these two people, or any two people, who could stand in the midst of their own families and sit with another man whom they loved. Ron could feel the radiance of the love Alec felt for this man and he could feel it off of Charlie.

He was genuinely sorry for the way he had treated his eldest son. Looking at his son and his lover now only made him feel worse. He had believed that God hated people like this, but Ron saw now that there is no difference between straights and gays besides their attractions.

They still loved and felt pain and other emotions. They bled when stabbed, they cried when they're sad, and they lie when they do not want someone to know the truth. There was no way God could hate people he had made from his own flesh and mind.

Ron found the recording of the super bowl and put it in, fast forwarding through the beginning announcements. He played the movies as one of the teams were getting ready for the kick off.

Alec and Carol slowly migrated to the kitchen, not really caring about how the super bowl had been won by the Rams. Carol smiled at Alec as they sat down on the kitchen table. "How have you been Alec, I haven't seen you in so long."

Alec smiled and said, "My life has been great if you don't count the four years of foster care." When Alec said this Carol felt like she had been stabbed in the gut.

She stood up and walked around the table to sit next to Alec. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Alec nodded before starting, "I missed you guys so much the whole time. My heart ached whenever I thought about how lonely I really was without you guys." Alec's eyes were watering as he continued. "My foster parents abused the foster children, all except for the ones who could sneak out before anyone else woke up and manage to stay out until dawn."

Alec had tears running down the sides of his face, streaking down his muzzle to fall on the table with a quiet drip. "Everytime I would see one of them come into my room I would cower in fear and wish that I was home again. I couldn't bring myself to come back here and ask if you guys could forgive me. I didn't believe you would."

Alec was full out crying now, sobs wracking his shoulders, his words were watery, and his voice broke. With every word his hair bounced on his head. "I tried to commit suicide once, it landed me in a mental hospital for a month. I didn't care, I didn't want to leave. I liked it there, away from my foster parents who would beat and torture me, away from the foster parents that would threaten me with pain for their own amusement."

Carol was crying now too, leaning her head on her son's shoulder. "I was happy to see those bastards dragged away by the cops after the doctor's asked me why I tried to commit suicide." Alec's words were almost drowned out by his constant sobs as he remembered the torture, the inhumanity of those insane people.

"I told him about them and about all the scars..." Alec started but Carol cut him off.

"Please, just stop. Please." Carol pleaded. She dug her head into Alec's shoulder and hugged him tightly, "We're so sorry you had to go through that. It's ok if you're angry at us."

Alec cried into his mom's hair and said, "It's ok mom, really. I forgive you two. Promise." They sat there like that for at least ten minutes, crying about what had happened to Alec. Alec had always been really emotional, he blamed it on the hormones that made him gay.

The timer for the meatballs beeped and Carol stood and stumbled back into her chair. Alec pushed her down and said, "I'll get them."

She smiled softly as he took the oven mitts and took the now brown meatballs out of the oven and mixed them in with the spaghetti. He yelled at Charlie and Ron and said, "Dinners done!"

He heard the shouting of the announcers pause as Charlie came through the doors. Charlie took a big sniff and grinned at Carol, "Smells delicious Mrs. Restin."

By this time Carol had cleared her face up and smiled softly at Charlie, "Please, call me Carol."

Charlie flashed another grin, "Ok, Carol." Charlie twisted his face in discomfort, "It doesn't feel right."

Carol smiled again, "You could always call me mom."

Charlie suddenly looked uncertain and looked at Alec and said, "Did you tell her?"

Alec shifted uncomfortably in his seat, "No, but it's sure going to be hard to hide it now."

Carol said, "Tell me what? What are you hiding?" She asked Alec suspiciously.

Alec sighed and said, "Wait for dad to get in here." They heard the sink running upstairs as his dad washed his hands. His dad walked down the steps and walked into the kitchen. "Hey umm, dad. Could you sit down." Alec stood up and walked over to Charlie, rubbing his forearms.

"Ok..." Ron said, sitting down slowly.

"Well, umm. Charlie and I have been dating for a few years now, and about a month ago he uhh," Alec stuttered as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring, putting it on the third finger of his left hand, "he proposed to me."

The ring on Alec's hand had a huge diamond on it and the band was covered in two rows of smaller diamonds. The ring was absolutely beautiful.

Ron and Carol looked shocked before Carol smiled a grin that went from ear to ear. "Congratulations." She walked up to Alec and hugged him. "Were you planning on telling us tonight?"

Alec nodded and looked at his father who was still shocked. Alec looked at his father expectantly and Carol slapped him on the back. "T-that's wonderful son." He choked out as he stood up and hugged his son. "I'm happy for you."

Alec hugged his dad back and said, "Thanks dad."

"When is the wedding?" Carol asked as Ron loosened his grip on Alec.

"Next month." Alec said, rubbing the back of his head, "We still have a lot to do. You would be surprised how hard it is to plan a gay wedding." Alec's face twisted. "We can't find caterers that would cater a gay wedding."

"You could always ask us for help." Carol said with a smile. "I know some people who would cater my sons wedding, gay or not."

Alec smiled back and said, "Thanks again mom."

Charlie said, "Thanks... mom." Charlie said mom awkwardly and Carol laughed at him.

"If you don't feel comfortable saying it you don't have to." She said with a smile.

Charlie smiled back, "I want to though."

Alec bursted into the conversation, "Now that we have that out of the way, can we eat? I'm starving." Alec's statement was proven true by a low rumble that made him blush.

Charlie and Ron laughed as Carol leaned back and grabbed some plates down from the cabinet. Alec was eager as he scooped tons of noodles onto his plate and then scooped half the pan of mushroom sauce onto his plate.

Carol shook her head and said, "You eat like a pig!"

Alec made a pig sounding snort and said, "It's your fault for being such a good cook. If I remember correctly."

Ron shook his head and said, "What you remember is her burning water."

Carol slapped him and Alec and Charlie laughed. Alec fixed Charlie's plate too, putting not as much on Charlie's plate even though Charlie was obviously bigger than Alec.

Alec and Charlie sat down and waited for Ron and Carol to get their food. Ron and Carol sat down with their plates and they all bowed their heads to say grace, Alec took the lead and said, "Dear lord, thank you for the meal we are about to eat and for rejoining this family. Amen."

Carol sniffed once before eating her food, Charlie and Alec instantly dug in and Ron only hesitated for a moment. Charlie swallowed his first bite and said, "This is delicious... mom." Charlie still felt awkward calling her mom.

Carol smiled again, I've been smiling a lot, she though. She said, "Thank you Charlie."

They ate in silence for a few minutes before Ron spoked up and said, "You know, my only problem with having a gay son..."

Carol cut in and said, "We don't need to hear." She was really urgent since she didn't want to offend them.

"It's nothing mean, I'm just saying that I'm sad that I'm not going to get any grand kids from Alec." Ron said.

Charlie and Alec sighed in relief, realizing they had been holding their breath. "Actually, we uh, we plan to adopt after we're married."

Ron nodded and said, "Ok. What is the exact date of the wedding?"

Alec finished chewing his food before saying, "January 14th."

Ron nodded again and exclaimed, "Well, I'll make sure I have that day off." He got up from the table and walked over to grab the phone.

Alec sighed and looked at his mother, "He doesn't approve of it does he?"

Carol shrugged and said, "He'll get used to it. I'm making him go. He's not getting out of it."

Alec smiled at his mother. The rest of dinner was spent in silence except for the clanking of silver ware and glasses. Ron came back and sat down at the table and continued eating. Once everyone was done they all stood up. "Thanks for dinner mom." Alec said, hugging her. He hugged his father too and said, "I love you guys so much."

Charlie said, "That was really good... mom." He looked at Ron and said, "It was nice meeting you... dad." He reached his hand out and shook Ron's hand.

Ron smiled and said, "Don't be strangers."

Alec smiled as his dad said the same thing he had the night before, "We don't plan on it. We'll always call before we come over."

Ron nodded before pulling Alec into another hug. "Bye son. I love you."

Alec and Charlie walked out the door to their car and drove down the street. Ron leaned over and kissed Carol on the cheek. "Good night honey, I'm going to bed."

Carol kissed him back and said, "I'm waiting for Gideon to get home so go on up."

Carol watched him walk upstairs before shaking her head, "I wonder how long it will take him to accept that his son is getting married to another man." she mumbled to herself before going to watch TV.

Chapter 13(The Dance)

Characters: Gideon, Raymond, Kevin, Troy, Wyatt, Xatrin, Dean, Paulie.

Gideon and Raymond were practically pulled into the blue van by Kevin and Xatrin. Dean was sitting in the back urging Kevin to start driving. "We have plenty of time to get to the dance." Kevin yelled at him. "The only reason we're leaving so early is because we're going to dinner first."

Gideon and Raymond nodded. "On me of course." Gideon added in since he had gotten more money out of his stash.

"Where are we going?" Paulie asked.

"No where special, we're just going to Chinese buffet." Gideon said.

Paulie smiled and said, "That's my favorite restaurant."

Raymond had an idea and said, "Thank Dean, it was his idea."

Dean glared at the back of Raymond's head as Paulie leaned over and turned his head to kiss him on the lips, Dean's glare turned into understanding as he melted into Paulie's kiss and kissed her back. "Did I mention you looked beautiful tonight?" Dean whispered.

Paulie snickered, "Only about twelve times."

Dean blushed through his dark fur and said, "Well, it's true."

Gideon looked back and saw that Dean and Paulie had gone back to kissing each other. He gasped as Raymond dropped onto his lap and leaned into his chest. "You know," Raymond said, "you look really handsome in your tux."

"You look gorgeous in yours." Gideon told him before leaning his down and kissing him lightly. It was totally true. The black tuxedo made Raymond's fur so much brighter in contrast. His blue eyes glowing in the dark like a cats.

He heard a snicker from the front seat and noticed that Kevin was blushing enough for it to show from behind his dark fur and he looked down to where Xatrin's hand was rubbing the bulge in Kevin's pants. Raymond leaned forward and slapped Xatrin's hand.

"We're in a car with other people. Come on now." Raymond told him. Xatrin blushed turning his white fur red and Kevin to snicker at him. Xatrin pushed him playfully and the car swerved into the opposite lane. Paulie screamed as Kevin quickly swung the car back into the right lane.

"See what you made me do?" Kevin yelled at him. Xatrin's ears drooped and Kevin laughed before leaning over quickly and kissing him on the cheek before the car could swerve again. "I was kidding."

Xatrin just looked out the window while they pulled into the large parking lot of the Chinese Buffet. They got out and walked into the restaurant. Paulie took a deep breath and sighed in delight as her nose met the delicious mix of Chinese and American foods.

They examined the new Chinese decor. A painting of the Great Wall of China hung on one wall and next there was a huge Chinese fan. They paid for the buffet and then sat their silverware onto a table then went to get drinks. They simultaneously sat down, each having plates piled with different food.

Raymond almost tripped after picking up his plate so Gideon had insisted on carrying both of their plates. Raymond had blushed and his fur turned red. Gideon slowly got the food they both wanted so they could sit down.

They didn't get the strange looks for wearing tuxedos to a not so fancy restaurant because they weren't the only students eating there before the dance. They ate slowly trying to avoid leaving for a while so they didn't have to sit outside the school in the cold weather.

"Why did we leave so early anyway?" Kevin asked suddenly.

"Because Dean rushed us out the door." Gideon accused.

Dean blushed and murmured, "I forgot how close your house was to the restaurant."

Everybody just laughed and continued eating. Their was raucous laughter from the table behind them and Gideon's scales darkened to purple as his face flooded with blood out of anger. He was about to turn around when Raymond grabbed his arm on one side and Kevin on the other.

Raymond looked at Kevin behind Gideon's back and said, "Did you hear what they said?"

Kevin shook his head vigorously as Dean came around the table to help hold Gideon down so Raymond could calm him down. There was a rumbling coming from deep in Gideon's throats and Raymond reached up to touch his face, his hand trailing in front of Gideon's muzzle and his hand getting burned.

He screamed in pain and the rumbling stopped as Gideon looked at Raymond, concern painting his face as Raymond's face twisted in agony. Gideon quickly got up and got some ice on a napkin. He ran back and put the ice on Raymond's hand.

"Are you ok honey?" Gideon asked Raymond, concern making his voice very quiet.

Raymond held the ice to his hand for a minute before nodding his head and said, "Why was your breath so hot?" Gideon just turned his head down and mumbled under his breath. Raymond's agony was replaced by concern as Gideon continued mumbling under his breath. "Please tell me."

Gideon sighed and said, "Apparently old dragon traits are coming back."

Raymond knew what he meant instantly and said, "Just, don't get to angry."

Gideon sighed again and mumbled, "I can control it when I want to."

Raymond nodded and said, "Why did you get so angry anyway."

Gideon looked at him and said, "I'll tell you when we go back to the van." Gideon's voice was incredibly quiet and laced in anger still.

The rest of the meal was quiet and they left quickly before Gideon could have another display like that. The jocks at the table behind them were staring at him with wide, horror filled eyes after seeing what his breath did to Raymond's hand.

They practically ran out of the restaurant. They hopped into the van, not caring if they had to wait in front of the school anymore. They drove quickly and Raymond asked, "So, why were you angry?"

Gideon looked at him with horror filled eyes and said, "Never enter the showers without me. Ok?"

Raymond nodded confused. "But why were you angry..." Raymond's voice trailed off as he caught on and he shivered in fear, a reaction that was echoed by everyone. "Don't worry about me hun." Raymond whispered.

"If anything were to happen to you Raymond," Gideon whispered, his voice had genuine fear in it as if losing Raymond would be the worst thing that could ever happen, "I don't know what I would do. I love you."

Raymond leaned over and kissed him and said, "I love you too. But you have to promise me, that whatever happens to me, you won't do anything stupid."

Gideon looked at him and said, "I can't promise that."

Raymond locked eyes with him and said, "You have to, I don't want anything to happen to you even if something happens to me."

Gideon looked at him and said, "I can't imagine living in this world without you now."

"You used to." Raymond said.

"My body did, my soul didn't." Gideon said, his voice cracking. "Before I met you I was alone no matter how many friends I was with or how often I did stuff with them I was alone. I was depressed and lonely and you changed all of that. You gave me my reason to live and I can't imagine life without you."

Paulie was crying in the backseat at Gideon's story, Dean had his arm around her trying to comfort her. Xatrin looked like he was going to tear up, no doubt having felt the exact same way for the longest time.

Raymond just dug his head into the scales on Gideon's chest and hugging him. Gideon reached his arms around and hugged Raymond's head, digging his head into the fur on top of Raymond's.

Raymond and Gideon sat like that for the whole ride, Raymond occasionally turning his head to kiss Gideon on the lips. Eventually cars started pulling into the parking lot and people were getting out and going inside.

Kevin and Xatrin climbed out, followed by Gideon and Raymond, and Paulie and Dean came out last. Paulie got stared at by all the guys and some of the girls, who had looks of jealousy on their faces at how beautiful Paulie looked.

Other girls looked at the five guys of the group, all of them incredibly gorgeous in their tuxedos. Most of the girls sighed as they looked at Gideon and Raymond, by far the two cutest ones in the group and wished they were straight.

Xatrin and Kevin made it to the gym where the actual dance was being held just to hear the first song start playing. Gideon and Raymond instantly walked to the side of the gym where there was food and punch. They ate and sat next to each other, leaning against each other for support. Gideon was surprised at how hungry they were considering they had just eaten.

Gideon pulled Raymond to his feet and they walked down to the cafeteria where there were other activities taking place, such as pictures and an end of the year gift shop. Gideon saw the coach at a table with letter jackets for the school's basketball, football, and baseball teams.

The coach saw him and came over quickly and handed him the blue denim jacket with white arms. The jacket had AHS on the back of it with Gideon Restin written in smaller red letters under it. A basketball decorated the back of it, right under his name.

Gideon quickly ran outside to throw the jacket into Kevin's van, Raymond right beside him. They walked back in to get their picture taken, the first picture they would have taken as a couple. Gideon and Raymond still got dirty looks from most of the guys but the girls didn't really care, in fact, the girls all came up and told them how cute they were together.

Everytime one would Raymond blush and Gideon would laugh and say, "Thanks."

Raymond and Gideon finally made it to the photographer to get their pictures taken. They stood in line before getting in front of the blue sheet that served as a background. The photographer gave them a look of disgust as Gideon wrapped his arm around Raymond's shoulder and Raymond wrapped his arm around Gideon's waist.

The camera flashed and Gideon and Raymond got the picture from the photographer, who was still looking at them in disgust. Gideon looked at the picture and said, "We ARE cute together." He smirked as Raymond blushed again.

Gideon noticed something out of the corner of his eye, he looked and saw the usual tables and one new one, a bracelet weaving station. Gideon smiled a smile that reached his ears. He pulled Raymond over to the table and set about working.

Raymond watched him with interest as Gideon slowly formed the materials into a bracelet that, if undone at the latch and lied out flat spelled "Gideonテ「邃「ツ・Raymond." It wasn't some simple cord bracelet bent to spell it out, it was at least twelve cords intricately woven together to spell the words out.

Gideon took Raymond's arm and latched the bracelet onto his arm and smiled at him. "Where did you learn to do that?" Raymond asked in awe as he stared at the multi-colored bracelet made out of cords that were every color of the rainbow.

"My grandpa. He knew some Cherokee humans who taught him how." Gideon explained.

Raymond was shocked and said, "Your grandpa has found humans before?"

Gideon nodded and said, "It was hard, they are a dying species after all."

Raymond was awestruck as Gideon made something else, an even more intricately made necklace, the multi-colored cords weaving in and out as Gideon's claws worked them swiftly. The necklace didn't spell anything but Gideon left small holes for something to fit into it.

Gideon put the unfinished necklace into his pocket and said, "I have the materials I need at home. I'll finish it sometime."

Gideon looked at his watch and said, "Holy crap! The bracelet and the necklace took me longer than I thought." He looked at Raymond and said, "I want to dance at least once. Come on!"

He grabbed Raymond's paw and slung him into his arms and practically ran to the gym, putting Raymond back onto his feet and pulling him into the gym as the last song started playing, a slow song thankfully.

Raymond was nervous and said, "I don't know how to dance."

Gideon just laughed and whispered, "I can fix that."

Raymond started to ask how but Gideon picked him up and placed his feet under Raymond's feet so that where Gideon's foot moved Raymond's foot moved. Gideon started to dance, not in the slightest bit hindered by Raymond's extra weight.

Raymond laughed as Gideon spun around quickly and gracefully. "Hmm. My boyfriend is gorgeous, plays sports, makes jewelry, and can dance. What else can you do?"

Gideon kissed him softly and said, "I can do plenty more and you will discover each one sooner or later."

Raymond smiled at him as he spun again, coming out of it gracefully as ever. Raymond could barely tell that Gideon's feet were moving since he was moving them so gracefully. The song was coming to a close and they both knew it. Raymond leaned his head against Gideon's shoulder and said, "I love you, so much."

Gideon put is chin on top of Raymond's head and whispered, "I love you just as much."

Gideon spun them a final time as the song came to an end. Raymond yawned and Gideon laughed and asked, "Tired?"

Raymond tried to grin but his mouth split again into a yawn. Raymond gasped as Gideon swung his legs up and carried him bridal style to Kevin's van. By the time they made it Raymond was asleep in Gideon's arms and Gideon laughed as he set Raymond down on his feet and holding him up until he woke up.

Gideon grinned at him. "Wait until we get home to fall asleep, ok?"

Raymond just blushed and Gideon laughed again. They climbed into the van and Gideon saw his jacket and folded it neatly. Gideon buckled Raymond into the seat in the middle of the back so he could lie his head on Gideon's shoulder.

Kevin got in and started driving. Gideon leaned his head onto Raymond's head and fell asleep also.

Gideon woke up to Kevin shaking him and Raymond saying, "You're home. Get out!"

Gideon laughed and pulled Raymond out of the van with him, picking him up bridal style again and carrying him inside. They walked in the door and Gideon remembered the music box. He walked into the kitchen and put Raymond down so he could sit in a chair.

His mom walked into the kitchen as Gideon took a screwdriver, a hammer, some nails, and a short wood saw, just in case. "What are you doing?" She yawned at him.

"I'm fixing this music box for Wyatt." Gideon told her, looking at the broken music box and he sighed. "Does dad still have that extra wood in the garage?"

She nodded and said, "Yes."

Gideon said, "Cool." He walked to the garage and got out twelve pieces of wood. He walked back to the kitchen and put the wood on the table and set to work. He measured out the wood, eight inches by eight inches.

He used the wood saw to cut out the squares, using four slow, strong strokes to cut each side through in a perfectly straight line. He cut out each square, slowly but surely. He went to get sandpaper, hinges, springs, and walked up to his room to get one of his carving blocks.

He opened his door to see Troy and Wyatt sleeping together on the futon. He looked at them for a moment, thinking about how cute they were together before slipping in and grabbing two blocks of wood and his carving knife.

He snuck back out and shut the door quietly. He thought about saving this for the morning but decided it would be a good thing to surprise him with in the morning.

He sat back down and started carving a figure of a tiger out of one and fox out of the other. Carving both of the figures to look exactly like Wyatt and Troy. Raymond fell asleep while watching him with interest.

Gideon smiled at Raymond's sleeping form. He had a sudden idea and walked over to the cabinet they kept in the living room and took out one of the empty photo albums they had in there. He walked over and set it down on the table. He took a digital camera and snuck back up to his room and took a picture of the two sleeping boys, the flash waking them up.

Troy sat up and said, "Huh? What's going on?"

Troy and Wyatt both blushed when they saw Gideon standing in the doorway with a camera. "Sorry for waking you two." Gideon smirked. "You just looked soooo cute together."

Wyatt threw a pillow at him and Gideon laughed again before running into the room and picking Wyatt up and hugged him tight. "Oww... can't... breathe... Gideon..." his voice squeaked on each word and Gideon dropped him onto the futon.

Gideon ruffled his head fur and said, "I'm going to torture you a bit. I bought you a Christmas present that you're going to absolutely love."

Wyatt's eyes widened and he growled, "You didn't have to tell me. Now I'm going to kill myself thinking."

Gideon just smiled and said, "Have some time with Troy, it seems you two really, REALLY, like each other."

Wyatt blushed again and Troy scooted a little bit away but Gideon forced him back. "If you like each other than show it." Gideon smiled, "Besides, you do look really cute together."

Gideon winked as he closed the door and walked downstairs. He walked to his computer and uploaded the picture and printed it out. He walked back to the kitchen and slipped the thin piece of paper into the album.

He set to work on the new music box, setting the hinges onto the lid and back of the cube. He set the bottom up and put four other square of wood onto the side, setting them into place and hammering nails in to hold it together.

He cut out small circles from the other pieces of wood and used super glue to hold them over the nails so you couldn't see the heads. He opened the lid to make sure the hinges worked before setting to work on the inside.

He put the two wooden figures onto the springs and placed them in so that when Wyatt opened it the two figures would pop up next to each other. He salvaged the music chip and wires out of the old broken music box and put it into the new one. He opened it up so the music started playing.

He was shocked to hear a piano playing a song that he didn't recognize, it was a beautiful song and was so into listening to it that he was shocked when Wyatt touched his shoulder. He closed the box and looked at Wyatt.

"Who was playing that song?" Gideon asked him, wanting to know more about the breathtaking song.

"It was my real mom." Wyatt sighed. "The music box was the last thing I had from her."

Gideon suddenly felt bad and said, "Sorry, I could only salvage the music."

Wyatt nodded and said, "It's ok."

Gideon said, "It's not finished yet if you want to watch me finish it up."

Wyatt nodded and said, "Sounds great."

Gideon went back to work, rigging drawers so that you could pull them open from the top. The drawers were meant to hold jewelry and stuff. Gideon knew that it seemed kinda girly but he was sure that Wyatt would have something he could put in them.

He finished the drawers and started sand papering the outside to make it nice and smooth before he painted it. The sand papering didn't take very long. He rubbed a hand across it to make sure it was all smooth.

He turned to Wyatt and asked, "What's your favorite color?"

"Green!" Wyatt said enthusiastically.

"Hehe, ok." Gideon said as he took out a jar of green paint and a jar of red paint and a fat paint brush and a skinny paint brush. He set to work painting it, making smooth, steady strokes to paint the newly made box.

He quickly finished and the box was all green. He waited for the fast drying paint to dry and when it finally did he took the skinny brush and the red paint. On the each side except for the bottom he painted a Japanese symbol. On the top he put the symbol for love and wrote love above it, on the sides he put courage, intelligence, friendship, and wisdom.

He gave Wyatt the music box and smiled as Wyatt examined Gideon's handiwork. He opened it and saw the two figures pop up. He noticed that it was he and Troy and looked at Gideon and said, "It's wonderful."

Gideon grinned and remembered, "Oh ya, one more thing."

He took the box back and opened the lid. He used super glue to attach the photo album to the bottom of the lid. He latched the photo album shut so the top wouldn't swing down when you closed the lid.

When the super glue dried he gave the box to Wyatt and Wyatt opened it to look at the first and only picture in the album. "This is the picture you just took." Wyatt said.

Gideon smiled and asked him, "Are you and Troy together now?"

Wyatt smiled and said, "Yes, yes we are."

Gideon hugged him tight and smiled, "Good for you."

Troy came down the stairs then and joined them in the kitchen just as Gideon's mother came in. "A gathering in the kitchen?" She glanced at the sleeping wolf in the chair next to Gideon. "Going to wake him up?"

Just as she said it Gideon banged the table and Raymond shot up. Troy and Wyatt laughed while Carol gave Gideon a stern look. "That wasn't necessary." Raymond grumbled.

"Yes it was." Gideon smiled and leaned over to kiss him.

"Mom! Mom!" Wyatt exclaimed twice as he grabbed the music box and ran up to her. "Look at what Gideon made me!"

She took it and looked at it before opening it. She looked at Gideon and said, "This is beautiful." She handed it back to Wyatt and Wyatt smiled a huge smile as she hugged him. "Anyways, since we're all down here, do you guys want a snack?"

Gideon said, "Sure, I'm starving and still have one more thing to finish."

Gideon walked upstairs to grab a small box of marbles that were just small enough to fit inside the holes that he had left in the necklace. He sat down on his bed and started fitting the marbles into the holes. He thought for a moment before reaching into his jewelry box and pulled out a charm bracelet that he had gotten for his seventh birthday.

He pulled off a small fox that was on it and clipped it onto the necklace. He put the bracelet on his wrist thinking that he hadn't worn it in a while. He walked back downstairs leaving the necklace on his desk. "Hey Troy, can I talk to you?" Gideon said, an idea forming in his head.

Troy came with him upstairs and into his room. He picked up the one puppy they still had from Malcise and put it on the floor and walked over to his desk and picked up the necklace. "Do you want to give this to Wyatt for Christmas?" Gideon asked him.

Troy looked at him puzzled and said, "Why are you asking me to give it to him."

Gideon smiled and said, "Because I'm sure he would think it was sweet for you to give it to him and because I've already made him the music box and bought him a gift."

Troy nodded and said, "Ok."

Gideon patted Troy on the back and said, "I'll hide this until we're ready to wrap presents. Come on, let's get back downstairs."

When they got back downstairs Gideon could smell the mouth watering cookies his mother was making. He walked into the kitchen and smiled at his mother, "I smell cookies."

His mother laughed at the excited look on his face and said, "Yes, you do, and they're almost done."

Gideon walked over to the fridge and asked, "Wyatt, Troy, Raymond. Are any of you allergic to dairy?" They all shook their heads and he poured five glasses of milk.

He walked over and put the glasses into the microwave to heat up the milk so that they would all sleep better. The timer dinged and he beat his mom to pull the cookies out of the oven. She bursted out laughing along with Wyatt and Troy while Raymond said, "Someone's eager."

"Well, my mom's cookies are da..." Gideon started to say but his mother burst in, "Don't you say it."

"I was just going to say dang good." Gideon rolled his eyes and said, "you always assume what I'm going to say is bad."

"That's because every other word you used to say was a curse." Carol told him as Gideon started giving everyone cookies and milk. They all ate the cookies and then swallowed the milk. In unison they all yawned and everyone laughed. "Time for bed." Carol said, "Come on, let's move it."

She ushered the four boys up the stairs and pulled Wyatt aside really quickly. "Listen, if you ever want to talk about anything at all I can talk."

"Thanks, mom." Wyatt said. He had gotten into calling her mom, he gave her a tight hug around her stomach since she was so much taller than he was.

She hugged him back and said, "You may be adopted but I love you just as much as Clarice and Gideon."

Wyatt hugged her even tighter, "Thank you."

Carol hugged him just as tight and said, "Time for bed, good night."

"Night mom." Wyatt said with a smile. He walked into Gideon's room and went to lie down next to Troy. Wyatt instantly cuddled into the bigger tiger under the covers and the tiger put his head on the fox's neck.

In the actual bed Raymond and Gideon were watching them and Raymond whispered, "They are incredibly cute together."

Gideon rolled his eyes and whispered, "You know how many people have said that tonight?" Gideon thought for a moment before saying, "Well, only two but I've said it enough times for five."

Raymond just laughed softly before snuggling into Gideon's warm body. Gideon leaned his arm over and held Raymond to him. Gideon quickly realized something. "We're still in our tuxes." He whispered into Raymond's ears.

Raymond blushed and said, "Oops."

They jumped out of bed and changed before getting back into their previous positions. Raymond sighed and said, "To bad we can't do anything with them in here." Raymond pointed his head towards the two sleeping boys.

Gideon sighed and said, "You are always so horny my little wolf."

Raymond just nipped at Gideon's muzzle and gave him a kiss before lying his head down on Gideon's scaly arm like a pillow. Gideon brushed some of his hair out of his face before lying his head down next to Raymond's.

"Love you." Gideon whispered.

"Love you*yawn*too." Raymond said.

Gideon heard Wyatt open the music box and the music lulled him and Raymond to sleep, helped by the warm milk. The dreamless sleep the four boys feel into was peaceful and restful.
