#3 of Rhysoning With One's Heart

Pokemon belongs to nintendo not me.

I guess that you could say I didn't know what I was getting myself into, or how many people didn't want me to go. Though I knew I had to and right now standing face to face with a Vaporeon, the one Pokテδゥmon that I didn't want to become. We were both glaring at each other, he was my only choice and honestly he hated me just about as much as I hated him. Tatsuya on the other hand, well he wasn't behind me or even beside me, hell saying that he was in front of me would be saying that the sky was pink. I can't say exactly where he is but I know he isn't around. I guess by now you were wondering where I was and how I became face to face with a Vaporeon. Well it's not that hard of a story to tell, so enjoy...

It was the day after I was sent home, and Tatsuya couldn't be happier with our plan. We weren't going to bring anything major; hell I wasn't going to carry a damn thing. The lake was only a few hours away and I planed to be back before dusk. Tatsuya who knew nothing about the lake, which was why he was so giddy about going, followed my lead and didn't bring a thing either.

We left early morning and had no problem getting to the exit/entrance of Twinleaf. Since that time long ago (you know the one) the trail has overgrown, becoming a forest of sorts, with no boots or people to clear the way. The entrance into the forest was open and void of debris. We started at a slow walk murmuring between ourselves.

"So you think we'll actually be able to meet Mesprit?" Tatsuya's voice was filled with hope.

"I don't know Tatsuya, honestly I don't."

"How will we get to the island?"

"Again I don't know Tatsuya. Though hush down, recently a gang of Geodudes have been spotted in the forest."

"Alright I'll keep quiet."

I looked around the forest my ears perked and eyes open. It was way to quiet and honestly I didn't know what to expect. Though I guess what happened I can't really say surprised me.

I was thrown into a tree along with Tatsuya; a rock with arms was on the ground in front of us. "Geodudes!" I yelled jumping up looking around. A bush shook to my left and right, I had no idea how many there were but I was afraid, I knew that Tatsuya was weak against them.

"Tatsuya stand up!" I ordered rushing to his side to help him stand. He was shaking and honestly didn't look to good. "Hold on, I'll take care of them." My voice wasn't so good as the two Geodudes floated into my vision. I sucked at two versus one fights, then again who didn't, except maybe Hitmontops, them and their spinning, but that wasn't here nor did that help with what was going on.

Shaking my head to rib the thoughts of spinning I confronted the two Geodudes. I tried to look intimidating while covering Tatsuya. "Hey George let me handle this punk." One of the Geodudes spoke floating more forward the over one staying back.

Luck was with me as I didn't have to fight them both at the same time. I stepped forward and squared off with the Geodude, moving so his attacks wouldn't hit Tatsuya. I took the first move and sprang into the air, stars forming around me before flying towards the Geodude. "Watch it Frank." The other one yelled before the stars could hit.

The one called Frank took the impact rather well which didn't really surprise me much. I knew what I had to do, I was just afraid that I would hurt myself again. Iron Claw, though powerful against rock types, wasn't my best attack.

Frank picked up a rock and chunked it, landing on my foot. As I pushed the rock off and jumped back dodging another rock. The pain from that was going to slow me down sooner or later. My jump landed me by a tree and I had a few options from there. Climb the tree and attack with Swift, run forward, dodge rocks, then tackle, or try Iron Claw. I went with the first plan and turned around. I ran up the tree and onto a branch. The stars formed around me again and flew again. Frank was over confident, though I couldn't blame him.

The stars bounced off and hit the ground vanishing. I wasn't all to shock at the out come. I knew I had little options here my fore paw was hurting and attacking close would be suicide. So I stayed in the tree and fired off round after round of swift attacks until Frank knocked me down from where I was with a quick Cross Chop to the tree. As I was falling from the branch of the tree I pushed off the tree trying to make sure I fell away from where Tatsuya is who looked like his breathing was returning to normal, I hoped this meant that he would wake up soon.

I looked at Frank who had a smug look on his rocky face least from what I saw I figured I could gamble on trying to get close to him now. I had to try an Iron Claw, it was me and Tatsuya's only hope. I focused and felt my right front leg start to harden trying to ignore the pain in it because it was the one hit by the rock earlier. When it felt right I ran forward, Frank smirked and opened his arms, "Come and get me."

I chuckled inwardly at his overconfidence would be his end here. I jumped into the air and slashed down. I felt rock chip away and my feet hit the ground. He screamed and I laughed, I couldn't believe that worked. Looking at him I closed my eyes, most of the rock around his face was cut off. He didn't look that good and I honestly didn't blame him for screaming out in pain. I was a bit cocky despite the pain in my right paw which I was doing my best to ignore.

He turned towards George and floated off, "The kid's yours. I'm going to go get the others. Frank floated off as fast as he could while George floated forward.

"I bet you're happy aren't you, though you should know that he was the weakest of us." George laughed and threw a rock though he launched himself at the same time, the rock throw was a feint, and he used Cross Chopped hitting me with that instead of the rock. I flew back and hit the tree that Tatsuya laid near. I coughed up blood and staggered back to my feet.

I tried to focus again my foreleg becoming like iron the pain seems to increase tenfold. I leaped forward and slashed down as soon as I was close enough. George was smarter though and caught my paw and threw me back. I gasped out as I hit the ground standing again. I ran forward in one last desperate attempt, my leg became iron like again and I jumped. I flipped over George and slashed down.

I landed but didn't hear a scream, or even feel any rock pieces under my foot. I gasped the attack failed. Turning towards George I gasped, the attack failed, like I thought. With a stone in hand and an evil grin on his rock face, he tossed another rock at me.

As I jumped back to avoid the rock it seemed that was a bad judgment call on my part. Because all I did was jump into the rock path which hit me hard; I whimpered and tried shake it off the pain of the hit. I had to finish this fast, I had no idea where Frank was and who he was returning with, but I was out running out of options.

"Iron Tail!" The voice came from almost no where, but I knew differently. It was Tatsuya; he was awake, with a vengeance. George was taken aback by this new attack that seemed to come from out of the blue. His back was torn up, chunks of the rock missing from everywhere. He looked like years of harsh erosion. Safe to say, George wasn't getting up for a while, "Let's get out of here Rhys."

"Couldn't agree with you more my friend." I yelled dashing towards the lake with Tatsuya next to me. "You had me worried for a moment." I spoke lightly looking at Tatsuya.

"I couldn't have you show me up, worry about your own hide."

"Says you, mister take a nap while in the middle of a fight."

"I was attacked and surprised, or else they would have been mine." Tatsuya yelled his voice distant.

"I was joking; I can see the lake ahead, run faster!" I looked behind me and gasped, "Make that super sonic fast!" A group of Geodudes were behind us gaining the ground on us. "Hurry!"

I looked towards Tatsuya and stopped as he turned around, "Go on, get to the lake, you need to be there more then me. I'll take these guys, and then meet up with you later." He dashed towards the group turning around I noticed his tail glowing silver.

I didn't want to leave, but didn't want his effort to help go in vain and I dashed forward. I took a few turns just in case the Geodudes split up to follow me and arrived on the south side of the lake in a matter of minuets, the north side being where I was wanting to go. This meant more walking with this sore body of mine.

I looked over the lake; the sun was high though not as high as it could be, towards the West. I smiled, at the small cave in the center of the lake, that looked like it was floating there I would find Mesprit. The problem would be getting to Mesprit, seeing as I couldn't swim that far, or swim that well.

"I can help you know." I turned around trying to find the owner of the voice that made me worry. I turned back towards the water the voice speaking again, "For a price." The voice was behind me I jolted and turned around nose to nose with a Vaporeon.

As I mentioned earlier my least favorite evolution for Eevee's, out of the six (Author's note: I understand that there are seven forms, but his home doesn't know about Glaceon, being as Ice Rock is so far away.), such as myself, the only Vaporeon I liked was my father, who was the greatest to me, though my Dad's family all Vaporeon hated me, and him for marrying my mother who was a Flareon. They just couldn't see how he could marry someone that weak to him.

"What do you mean, Vaporeon?" I spoke bile rising in my throat of the thought of being helped by a Vaporeon.

"I can get you to that isle, for a small fee of course." His voice became normal and flowed like water. I didn't trust him, but curious about the fee. "All you have to do is get me an item, and I expect it not now but later."

"What is the fee?" I asked, hoping that it wasn't too much.

"I just want you to bring me a Water Stone. Nothing to hard to find, just bring me one, and it can be at anytime, I trust you, though if I don't get the stone, you will have a fight on your hands. "

"Won't I evolve as soon as I touch the stone?"

"Not if you don't touch the water drop in the center."

I didn't trust him, though I had no other choice, and I had a Water Stone available, my parents gave me each stone in order to allow me to choose my evolution when I choose.

"Fine, I accept, after I return from the cave, in two days time, the stone will be hidden under a hollow rock, the will be resting by the trail's start. That is as far as I can bring the stone, cause of the Geodudes haunting the woods."

"That will do." He turned towards the water and slowly sunk inside, till only his back was showing. "Hope on."

I jumped on his back and he started swimming, we were about half way to the island when he stopped. "What's wrong?"

"There are whirlpools up head blocking the island, if you want to get there I can shoot you over but it will cost extra."

Of course it would cost extra, it always does with guys like him. "What's the price?"

"A Fire Stone, and Thunder Stone, left in the same place."

I thought about that price, at the moment I wanted to be a Jolteon, "Fine."

He rose out of the water and looked back at me, "Good, now this will be simple." He looked towards the island and back at me. "Jump into the air, curl into a ball and I'll shoot you towards the island."

I nodded and tensed on his back ready to jump. "Now!" he yelled, I jumped into the air, curling into a ball just as a blast of water slammed into my back. I was rocketed forward and the water stopped.

I opened my eyes, which I closed due to the water. I felt not land hit under me but water. I gasped out and sputtered, water filling into my mouth and lungs faster then I had expected.

I swam for the surface, my wet fur pulling me under. It was hard for me to pull myself to the surface with all that damp fur of mine also the point that I seem to be taking in more water than air at the moment; my right foot was also killing me.

I broke the surface at which to me was a miracle in itself, I looked around, still choking on the water, which I learned fast was not totally fresh, I believe that it got saltier by the island. The only thought that was going through my head at the moment was that I might stiff that vaporeon on poor travel arrangements.

Well at least I was closer to the island despite being slowly dragged under by the weight of my fur. I started swimming towards the island, breaking surface to get a quick breath before being dragged under. This was getting bad I am not water type. I hate the water.

When I reached the shore of the island I crawled on to its sandy shore, I vomited out loads of water and the breakfast I had earlier not one of the most pleasant feelings to have. I tried standing but failed falling flat to the ground, the waves washing away the vomit and my sweat.

I was on the island at least, and I crawled towards the entrance to the cave, out of the waves reach. I laid there letting my fur dry in the hot sun. "At least I made it."

An hour or so later, my fur was some what drier, and I could stand up, despite the pain in my foot.

Mesprit's cave was right in front of me, I was a few steps away from finding out what those dreams and visions meant, and why I get sick come the time of heat.
