(Fifteen years later)

For the past twenty five years I've been through a lot and endured much. Ranging from a freak accident, transformation, military test subject and a parent. My birth/human name was Devin Sentry and according to the US government I'm dead. The name I was left with upon my escape from the military was Project Zero. Fortunately during these past years no government authority has come hunting for me.

Even though I'm still in possession of stolen top secret military hardware. Despite all that's happened to me a lot of good has also come into my life also. I've settled down with a wonderful woman and we've formed a family together. Before the day our lives became intertwined every part of her life was controlled by others. Two years before my escape Luna and another woman called Tendra were changed.

Sierra Pearl an old colleague of mine was forced by her father to re-create me. She and Tendra were put into a cryo-like sleep until I freed them two years later. In Tendra's case the admiral wanted someone that could walk between both our worlds. Upon being reunited with Luna many years later I learned that Tendra was killed. According to Luna she was shot during a bar fight and to defend herself she morphed.

The media had a field day upon confirming that were wolves do in fact exist. When in reality Luna, Tendra, Sierra and myself are bio-engineered were animals. A perfect combination of human DNA and animal DNA with no side effects. Every single strength of both species merged into one being with a unique skeleton. Along with the ability to shift painlessly between anthro and feral stances at will.

In addition to that Luna and I have two other advantages to speak about. First our bones are coated with a special kind of metal that I created years ago. Undanium a unique metal I designed and created to be virtually indestructible. Second was the invention from an old friend of mine, she created bio- robotic cells. That were built and programmed to repair any injury we received without scaring.

Granted this wasn't how we predicted our live to turn out but, we're happy. Though I do lay awake most nights wondering when they'll be coming back. I know for certain they'll bring everything they can to bring in me or my family. They'll probably go so far as to use my family as bait to lure me into the open. For as long as I draw breath I won't permit something like that to ever happen to us.

My family and I live peacefully in this pristine wildlife preserve in north western U.S. Twenty years ago I met a human woman that I grew to trust with my secret. She's done so much for me and my family to the point I can't repay all her kindness. In the event something happens to Luna or I, Helan would care for our children.

With three boys and one extremely headstrong daughter our paws are busy. The sad part is she reminds me so much of myself when I was growing up. I believe it's time that I tell you the names of our children Felix, Gale, Lucas and Rogue. We raise them to be well mannered and to show respect to other living things. When they meet Helan for the first time they treated like a real member of the family.

After some discussion Luna and I decided to appoint Helan their god parent. Of course when we told her, she was more than delighted to receive such an honor. The den I originally made for myself grew to small for my family after six years. Finding a large den for my family and fit Luna's requirements wasn't easy. I still return to our old home randomly to check on the outside world and some privacy.

By doing so allows me to keep an eye out for trouble and I can take action. Until something of that nature occurs my priority is the happiness of my family. This reminds me of an old saying, never raise to many devils as you can put down. With that being said and today's date being 7-17-2027 summer is in full swing. Naturally the summer weather is going to our heads but, our children are very giddy.

Of course this makes things interesting and highly entertaining for Luna and me. Granted our children can't stand it when we tease them when they do something silly. Let's be honest here what parent in their right mind can resist such a strong urge. Even though it doesn't curry either of us any sort of favor with children when it happens. Considering they try their best to get back us when the opportunity presents itself.

One fine July morning I took our children out for their morning hunting exercises. Now they're not exactly fond of being disturbed up two hours before sunrise. Regardless that it's the perfect time for us to go out and catch some decent sized prey. Of course my three sons are more tolerant than my very outspoken daughter Rogue. Upon arriving at one of our hunting areas I had them wait while I scouted ahead.

Upon my return the boys fanned out in intervals while Rogue stayed behind. Sadly her lesson for today was going to be very hands on than she would realize. Rogue's training has been harder than what her brothers have been put through. Since someday in the near future my daughter would ascend to the rank of alpha. Luna and I want to make sure that she can handle anything that comes her way.

What she doesn't understand is that I did this to her mother once upon a time. Since that day her mother can tackle anything that comes her way without help. I see the same potential in Rogue as her mother and that's why I push her so hard. If only she could conquer that nasty stubborn streak no one would dare fight her. Even her mother agrees with me that Rogue needs to find her center in order to blossom.

Getting back to this morning hunt Rogue and I moved into an ambush position. "Come on Rogue we're still upwind so let's keep moving before the herd notices." I said. As we reached the outskirts of the forest near a popular game trail Rogue spoke. "Father we're still in a good position to rush the herd so why move elsewhere?" She asked. I reminded her that the wind can change direction and we need to be ready to move.

So by staying where we presently stood it would give our prey an advantage. Than she suggested we attack them while we still had the element of surprise. My response to her was that would be suicide and someone could get hurt. "The best way for us to catch our prey is to thin out their numbers first, Rogue." I replied. Of course that didn't sit to well with her and she voiced her disapproval of my response.

"Look my brothers are already in position and are waiting for your signal. So why don't you give it them before the herd decides to move some place else." She stated. It was with that statement of hers I told her that she was in charge of this hunt. The look of utter shock that appeared on my daughter's face was priceless. Naturally she called me out on it and when I told her the truth she really freaked out.

She couldn't believe I was doing this but, it was her chance to prove herself. Considering that she's been bragging to Helan about how good a hunter she is. What Rogue doesn't know is that her brothers won't be helping her catch breakfast. Granted when she figures out what I've done let's just say she's not gonna be happy. While Rogue moved to a better location Luna appeared then she sat down beside me.

Allowing Rogue to focus solely on her current objective without distraction. As she took the time to observe the how the herd moved around she moved in. Once she felt ready Rogue walked into the open and towards the herd of bison. Behaving like she had already eaten some time ago but, they knew it was an act. I doubt Rogue picked up on the fact the herd was aware of her ploy and was waiting.

"Mind giving me a playback as to what going on here Zero or I don't need it?" Luna asked. As I filled my wife in on the whole situation Rogue was too focused on her target. Motioning to Luna the change in the herd's body language and we smiled knowingly. "I hate to admit this but, this isn't going to end very well for our daughter." She replied. Shaking my head no just as Rogue attacked and the herd scattered like roaches.

She chased after them with everything she but, the herd had plenty of energy. When they made a clean getaway she stopped then walked back to me unhappy. Though what bothered her the most was that her brothers never came to assist. The second it dawned on her she was raging mad and decided to confront me. Sadly her mother took it upon herself to get between us and deall with our daughter privately.

"Listen, dear your father did the same to your brother and to me so relax. Reason why he did it was to make sure you can fend for yourself when we're gone. So don't be angry with him beside you faired no differently than me or your brothers." She smiled. Felix and the others were quick to backup what their mothers had revealed to her. When all three boys joined us Luna was curious to see how much her sons progressed.

While they went elsewhere to find something to eat Rogue and I did the same. "Let's go daughter if you want to have breakfast than you'd best keep up with me." I said. Giving me a sour snort as she jogged after me to another of our hunting grounds. "Would you believe me if I told you that I went a month without catching a thing." I added. Of course Rogue was curious how her mother faired her first time hunting.

To be honest I hadn't paid much attention since I was hunting for two people. When I felt confident enough to let Luna go hunting along was months later. "If I compared you and your mother she performed slightly worse than you have." I said. Than I was quick to tell her not to let that info go to her head and her response was. "Do I look like the kind of person that let's my ego get the best of me?" She asked.

To be continued.
