It's an early afternoon, a tan and light-grey saluki named Yasmin was hurrying around her living room getting it ready for her friend to come over, causing her long black hair to flow behind her. "Snacks are set-up," Yasmin said to herself as she walked pass the coffee table that held bowl filled with chips and dip. "Controllers are charged," she said as she unplugged the controllers from their cables.

Yasmin laid down on her sofa with a relaxed sigh. Yasmin was wearing a purple tank top with white floral design and white basketball shorts over her long dark-grey legs. "Finally, now I can relax bef-" Yasmin was interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell.

Yasmin sighed as she plopped her head on her sofa. "Lin has the worst timing, I swear," she mumbled to herself as she slowly got up from her couch as the doorbell rang again. "I'm coming, I'm coming, sheesh no patience much." Yasmin mumbled the last part to herself as she hopped off the sofa.

Once the door finally opened up for her, Lin-Lin Ayame, a white-gray hound whose purple and gray hair covered over her shoulder in the back. She was dressed in her normal oversized blue t-shirt with her favorite rock-band printed on it with her gray shorts barely visible and her navy-purple bandana around her neck along with her neon-purple and white striped arm-warmer on her right arm. After brushing her hair out of her face, she smiled at the sight of her friend.

"Hiya Yasmin, sorry if I'm a little late," Lin said in a cheery voice as she walked into Yasmin's home once the hound had moved out of the way. "You wouldn't believe how many different snacks the shop down the street has," she continued to say as she moved the blue and neon-purple trimmed duffel bag in front of her to reveal the assortment of junk-food she brought over for the sleepover she was having with her friend this weekend. "So are you ready for this weekend? We're gonna crush the competition."

"You know it," Yasmin said as she walked passed Lin, giving her a hi-five. "So what you want to start with?" she asked as stopped in front of her collection of games that packed the shelves. "I got racing, fps, action, and arcade games." she listed off the types of games she had.

As she made her way to the couch, Lin took a moment to think about the choices they had along with the games she brought with her to play. Since they had the whole weekend, and since she didn't plan on doing any real sleeping, Lin thought best to start off easy to get things kicking.

"Mm, how about some arcade games first?" Lin asked as she shrugged her shoulders, having fun just with spending time with Yasmin. She didn't really care how they did spent time together. "Just to get things started. Oh! And they have to be beat 'n' up games," she said knowing that Yasmin wasn't as good as she was when it came to anything outside of racing.

"Not funny Lin," Yasmin said as she turned around to see what she had. "Ok, I got: KI, MK 2K9, Injustice and Tekken," she said as she took the games off her shelves. "So which one to start with?" She asked as her tail whisked side to side.

"Oh Injustice, I want to play as Raven," Lin said after a very short time of thought as she made gestures with her fingers as if she was using the character's magic. "Her magic is so cool," she continued to say with a dreamy look on her face that slowly changed as she continued to think about how her favorite character uses magic. "Dark, creepy, and a little depressing, but cool. Kind of like your magic Yasmin."

"Hey! My magic is not creepy," Yasmin said with huff as she looked at Lin. Yasmin picked up the case and walked over to her 'Tower of Power' turned on her PS3 and her 50 in TV As she waited for the TV to boot a little idea popped into her mind. Two of the eight teardrop runes that wrapped around her left wrist started to glow a faint white. She looked over her shoulder to see was Lin was distracted with the snacks in her duffel bag. With a smug grin Yasmin flicked her middle finger and a loud yelp was quickly heard after that.

Without any reason whatsoever, as Lin was enjoying a large chocolate bar, a sudden force flicked against her nose, causing her to fall back on the couch with a small yelp. Her only explanation was the only someone in the house with her. "Ow, Yasmin, not cool! I was only joking," Lin said as rubbed her nose, glaring at the giggling hound. "And I didn't mean it like that. I meant to say you're magic is cool."

Yasmin smiled smugly as she turned around to face Lin. "How you know it was me?" she asked with a raised eyebrow as her tail slowly whisked from side to side. "You need proof before you can accuse someone especially your closest friend," she said as she hand cover her heart faking as if she was hurt.

"Yasmin, I'm not dumb," Lin pouted, used to Yasmin trying to act all innocent even when all evidence point straight to her. "You want to play this game again? Fine. One, I known you long enough to see through you Yaz. Two, there's no one else here that could've done it. And three, you always do it," Lin listed with an eye roll as she went back to eating her snacks. "If only you were that clever in fighting games you just may win sometimes. Huh?"

"Oh, that hurt and just for that." Yasmin pinched her fingers together with a quick yank a piece of Lin's chocolate bar broke off. "From downtown!" Yasmin said as did a toss the piece of chocolate toward herself. She opened her mouth as the piece of chocolate flew in midair get closer to her. The piece landed perfectly in her mouth, "An' it wooh." Yasmin chewed on the chocolate, humming, "Oh sweet, it caramel filled." As she inserted the game into the console.

Lin rolled her eyes at her friend taking a piece of her chocolate bar, shrugging it off since she had a half of a duffel bag filled with sweets and other treats for her to enjoy for the weekend, and knowing that she'll just sneak some of Yasmin's snacks when she wasn't looking.

"Gee Yaz, that's so not fair," Lin sighed as she sat up on the couch, moving her duffel bag out of the way so Yasmin could sit down. "What I would give to be able to use magic though," Lin mused as she always was a little jealous of Yasmin's magical powers. "Hey did you ever have to do anything for you magic anyway? Like lessons?"

"Yea, I had to when I was younger and I kinda still do." Yasmin said as picked up her purple/gray controller and walked back to the couch. "All they did was teach me how to use them and always reminded me of how many runes I had." Yasmin said with an annoyed sigh.

"How many is that anyway? Or more exactly, how are you counting them?" Lin asked as she was beginning to finish off the chocolate bar while the game continued to boot up. "Cause from what I've been able to see, you have like...seven maybe eight major runes." Lin flipped onto her back to sit upside down on the couch while she reached into her duffel bag to fish out the neon-purple controller. "And how come you don't sound too happy with your magic?"

"The magic it not bad, it has it perks. But, it was a pain in the ass to do those lessons," Yasmin said in an annoyed tone.

Lin nodded her head, still thinking Yasmin's magic was still rather impressive. "Sooo, doses the runes do anything? I've seen them glow every time you used your magic in a certain way," she noted, causing Yasmin to smirk.

"I got forty six in total. Eight on each wrist, twelve on my nice fluffy tail," Yasmin said as she wagged her tail in front of Lin. "One between my shoulder blades, three on my lower back, and four on each of my juice thighs," Yasmin said teasingly. "And one just above the middle of each paw," she said in a matter fact tone of voice. "As for why they glow, that's just the way I'm directing the magic, like this." The runes on Yasmin's wrist shone for a quick moment as she flicked her fingers up, causing a piece of candy to raise from Lin's open duffel bag. "See, sweet, but annoying at times."

"Well..." Lin took a moment to think about it to herself, still wanting to know what it feels like to have that kind of power inside of you. "I still would like to have magic of my own, even if you had to memorize all of that stuff," she said as the game finally started up to the start screen, turning on her controller so she could play with Yasmin. "Hey Yazzie, I gotta ask you something that's...sort of personal."

"Shoot," Yasmin said as she selected multiplayer and started going through the character grid.

Lin began blushing at the thought of her question as she, almost on reflex, moved her cursor straight over to the dark demon, known as Raven, that she enjoys to play as. "Yeah well, I wanted to know is, have you ever used your magic for...you know, private stuff? Like..."

"Like what?" Yasmin asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked over to Lin. But her Lin's blushing face told her what she meant by 'private'. A faint blush appeared on Yasmin's cheeks as she turned looked back to look at the TV. "Oh," was all that Yasmin said as she selected The Flash.

"Yeah...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked you that," Lin said as the game moved to the map selection part, waiting for Yasmin to take her pick. "That was something private. I was just being a little curious is all. You know since you use magic the way you do, I would've thought that you, you know, add a little 'kick' to it."

Yasmin blushed more as Lin continued talking about using her magic. 'I thought about it.' Yasmin thought to herself as she selected Joker's Asylum. "Don't worry about it Lin. But it seems that your mind always end up in the gutter."

"From hanging out with you, yeah," Lin joked with a giggle as the game started up with the two character's intros starting with Raven's mystical taunting and Flash's cocky attitude. As the female announcer started the match, Lin opened up with a swift quick jab that ended with a quick sweep at Flash's feet, knocking him to his back.

"How's that my fault?" Yasmin asked as she dashed back as Lin teleported in front of her. Yasmin went for a quick jab that was easily countered by Lin sending Flash flying with a reverse throw. "Damn it Lin."

"I told you to practice," Lin mocked as she dashed forward to float attack Flash with a few jabs and a burst of purple energy that sent Flash into the air. Following that up, Lin had Raven jump into the air to deliver a jump kick that sent Flash over towards the far left side of the stage.

When Flash gotten up, Lin activated one of Raven's grab move, launching Flash into the air only to make his flight short by a mystical raven's claw to his face, and then slamming him down into the ground. "And you can't say that you are the most innocent of hounds out there, Yaz. You pull a sex joke every chance you get, and let's not recap what happen when you were drunk."

"Lin, I thought we agreed not," Yasmin said in a testy voice as she heel kick Raven causing her to slam off the floor. Yasmin quickly time loop to slow down Raven's bounce off the floor. "To bring that up." Flash kicked Raven as she slowly glide back down starting a juggle combo.

She double kick then into a double head-butt with slammed Raven's body at the right edge of the area as the time loop wore off she quickly activated the pipe which froze Raven. "Again," she said as Flash broke Raven out of her froze state just too sent Raven crashing through the asylum doors.

"Well gesh Yazzie," Lin said with an eye roll as Raven was sent crashing into the Scarecrow's room where she was infected with his mind altering drugs and promptly enter a psychotic stage where the Scarecrow slammed in fist into her. Raven was thrown into the air where Scarecrow grabbed her midair, only to slam into the ground, coming out of the altered state.

"It isn't my fault that you tried hitting on every single person in that bar. You were lucky that I was there to keep you from getting any trouble. But if that's how you feel..." The moment Raven had gotten up, Lin counterattacked with a triple jabs that sent Flash sprawling backwards, only for Lin to trap him in Raven's magic where he was crushed into himself. As Flash bounced on the ground, Lin dashed Raven over towards him to couch punch him upwards, giving Lin the time to send an aerial attack on Flash.

Yasmin wait till Lin got close to break her combo with bicycle kicks. Raven shot to the ground and slid to a stop on her back as soon as Raven got back up she shot a shadow Raven stopping Flash's head-butt causing him to stumble back.

"Ah, this is game." With Flash dazed, and Yasmin only half as good as her, Lin decided to end the game by activating Raven's special attack. After trapping Flash in a void dimension, Raven summoned three blood-red demons that all charged at Flash to take a slash at the Flash. Once each demon faded away, Raven, in a fit of rage and demonic influence, summoned the worst demon of them all; her father, Trigon. Who promptly shot a beam of red light at Flash, sending him back onto the ground in the dimension he came from.

He had gotten back up, only to fall back to the ground in defeat, the game naming Raven as the winner. "Woo, that's victory. And come on Yaz, tell me. Have you used your magic for stuff like that? We're both grown women...who are playing video games and having a sleepover, but you get my point."

Yasmin sighed in defeat as she lose and now have to talk Lin. "Yeah, I do get it but I never used my magic like that. I'll admit I thought about it once in a while," Yasmin said with a blush as she got up. "You want to play again or something else?"

"I think it'll be best if we played something more to the spirit to arcade games," Lin said as she sat her controller on the couch so she could reach into her duffel bag, fishing around the heap of snacks she had in it. "How about...guh, where is it?" Lin slid further off of the couch to reach into the duffel bag, unintentionally causing her shirt to move just below her chest, showing off her flat stomach.

Yasmin watched Lin dig in her bag but her attention was slowly getting lower towards her flat stomach and her slim waist that widen to slender hips and discrete muscles in her thighs. Yasmin started to appreciate how well Lin took care of her body. She might be munching on snacks all day, but it don't show on her at all.

"Where is that- Oh ah-ha!" Lin cheered as she finally found what she was looking for, quickly sitting up to show Yasmin. "How about some Little Big Planet Karting? I know you don't really like kiddy games, but we'll run out of serious ones if that's all we do for the whole weekend," she said to Yasmin with a small smile, knowing that the hound wouldn't have much a trouble with the idea. "And also could we play on my account? Be easier to do that."

"I haven't played LBP in a while," Yasmin said cheerfully as her tail wagged behind her. She picked up her controller, exited out Injustice and signed out her account. She moved over to Lin's PSN named Raggie Hound. A giggle slipped out from Yasmin every time she saw Lin's PSN. "So, remind me how you came up with that name again?" Yasmin asked as she looked over at Lin who was shaking her head.

Lin started to nervously giggle at Yasmin's question, especially from the reasoning behind the name. "Uh yeah, remember how I told you that I came from a home with three other sisters' right?" When Yasmin slowly nodded her head, Lin again nervously laughed before she continued. "Well, they all were older than me, so I had last say in whatever we did. So I basically had to do what they said. And eventually, they...they started calling me a hound's ragdoll. Heh, funny right?"

Yasmin looked at Lin and shook her head. "I hate to say this, but since I'm your best friend I can tell you this," Yasmin said as she walked over to Lin. Yasmin put her hands on Lin's shoulders and looked into her bright purple eyes. "That was sad," Yasmin said as she shook her head. "Please tell me that you got them back right?"

All Lin could rightfully do was laugh as she shook her head with a small smile on her face. "No, I guess not really. The eldest inherit dad's magic so messing with her was a bad idea. The other two were a lot taller and stronger than me so...no not really." Lin scratched the back side of her head with a small laugh at how sad her life must sound to Yasmin. "Though, they all did moved out when I was sort of young. So it wasn't that bad, and I didn't mind that much."

Yasmin sighed as she took the game from Lin and walked over to her console to put in the game. "Lin, you're nineteen years old, you should know better that to let them take advantage of you," Yasmin said in a disappointed tone. "Let just get back to the games that what we're doing this weekend." Yasmin said trying to keep the weekend fun going.

Beats talking about the pit that my life was any day. "Heh yeah that'll be better anyways," Lin said with a smile on her face as she reoriented herself on the couch to sit up right so she could really see what she was doing while Yasmin returned to her seat. "And don't worry about not remembering how to play. I got a few tracks specially made just for reteaching me all the tricks."

"So, you don't think I remember the controls?" Yasmin asked with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.

Lin glanced towards Yasmin, returning her confident smirk with her own as she began switching player numbers so she would be player one. "Well," she laughed, knowing that Yasmin would be doing her best to cheer her up after reliving a bit of her past. "You did said that you hadn't played in a while, so I was giving my best friend the benefit of the doubt. But if that's how you see it..."

Quickly staring up the game, Lin skipped over all of the intro sequences so they would jump straight into her custom made pod. Her character, a light gray ragdoll with short purple hair and wearing a black leather jacket and torn blue jean pants, promptly fell into the driver seat of her gray and purple motorcycle hovercraft.

The sound of Yasmin coming was heard from the television when the screen paused to show a selection for a guest account and Yasmin's account that was humorously named Puppyrunesday24-7. "Mind telling me how you got your name? It's soooo clever."

"Heh, well it just to spite a gamer I met in a match. When I made it at the time. Now I just kinda live up to the name." Yasmin chuckle. "I joined a lobby on Battlefield 3. A gamer was bragging to the new players that joined that he was on a ten game win streak. So, I decided to pop his big head. After, let say an hour of playing I snapped his win streak, snipe and assassinated him the most times out of everyone and made him rage quit," Yasmin said laughing. He sent me a message saying I was a young pup that got lucky and I ruined his day. He must have been mad because he spelled ruin as rune. The name popped in my head. I sent him a message back saying thanks for the new PSN name and I made this." She finished with another laugh as she clawed at her cheek sheepishly. "I found him a couple days later and he laughed and added me as a friend. He a good gamer, just a bit hotheaded but you should play with him some time."

Lin began laughing at Yasmin's story, unable to count the number of times that's had happened with her on the various shooters she play. "Hah, I just might will if he don't mind getting scoped from across the map with a silenced SMG. But let's save that for later, for now just pick your account so we can shoot rockets at each other," Lin smirked, giggling at the thought of going against Yasmin in a death match arena of her own design.

"I know, I know. You know you're in a real hurry to get your ass blow up," Yasmin said with a chuckle as he selected her account. With a pop, Yasmin's sackgirl and her hoard unicycle appeared next to Lin's kart in her pod.

"Yeah, I'm sooo gonna get blown by you Yaz," Lin rolled her eyes towards her friend with a smirk on her face. "Cause you got the best of trigger fingers. You missile launching sniper." Lin got things underway by entering into her controller, the big one on the screen, and quickly moved over towards her moon where she had some of her tracks and arenas set up. "What be ye prison, Puppy?"

"Don't you mean your grave?" Yasmin quipped as she derange Lin's hair with a chuckle. Yasmin started to laugh at how quickly Lin's hair look like a hairstyle from Tina Turner. Yasmin tried to stop laughing but Lin's deadpan stare with the hair is only making Yasmin laugh hard. "Oh I'm so taking a pic of this," Yasmin said as she quickly took out her phone.

Lin bit her bottom lip with a blush on her face as she tried to fix her hair back to the way she had it. "You better not!" she said, rushing to fix her hair before Yasmin could take a picture of her. However, she wasn't quick enough as the camera-phone went off before Lin could finish. "Aw come on Yazzie, delete that. It's already hard enough for me to find a guy without you uploading stuff like that," Lin whined as she was forced to remove her white hairpin from her hair, causing it to fall over the hem of her back. "I don't even see how you deal with so much hair. I should've gone for that haircut the other day."

"Who said I was going to upload it. I'm going to keep it for myself. Only rare few been uploaded," Yasmin said, smirking with a matter of fact tone. "Think about it, out of all the embarrassing pics you seen uploaded of yourself. How many ever came from me. You know I'm right."

Lin opened her mouth to argue with the hound when she slowly closed it, dropping her eyes into a deadpanned stare. "You pick the weirdest things to be right with," she said before she went back to selecting a track to play with for a while. Smirking, Lin picked a deathmatch arena that took place in an aerial castle. "Well, you best keep that attitude, cause I'm gonna blow it apart along with your kart."

Yasmin snorted as she turn to look at Lin. "Bitch please, you wish you can blow me up." Yasmin said smugly as the screen split in two as the cameras work their way through the field of AI drivers till it lowered behind their karts. Lin glared back at Yasmin, mouthing 'Bitch you don't have nothing on this,' before turning her head back around right as the countdown started. The closer it got to zero, the tighter the two gamers gripped their controllers, and soon taking off the moment the count reached its end, gunning straight for each other in a blind fury of rockets and other cartoonish weapons.

Thirty minutes later

"Come on Lin, I thought you said I got nothing on you," Yasmin said with an evil chuckle as she lined up her shot to target Lin's hover motorcycle as they drifted out the turn onto a straightaway. Lin may be thinking she better at this than her, but that was only with the deathmatch. In a race, Yasmin was going to show hound why she was top-hound.

"You don't, just cause you're getting lucky with this race don't mean nothing," Lin retorted as she pulled out of the drift, doing her best to keep the lead she been struggling against the hound. "If I recall right, you're still in the red when it comes to wins. So don't think that-" Suddenly, while Lin wasn't paying full attention to her screen, Yasmin came up behind her, and started to channeling for the win. Luckily for Lin, there was still one last chance to bet Yasmin at her own game. 'Clutch time.'

'Got ya,' Yasmin thought to herself as she got closer to Lin's hover motorcycle. "I'm taking first!" Yasmin said as she activate the electric pulse. The pulse hit Lin's hover cycle it busted into flames and her sackgirl burn to ash. "Told you so." Yasmin said smugly as she drifted around the next turn.

Lin's right eye began twitching a little bit at Yasmin using the EMP blast on her that sent her back a few feet in second place. "Aw come on! That weapon is such a freaking cheat," she groaned as she struggled to catch up with Yasmin, only to miss the checkered line by a few seconds. "Oh well, you're mine next round, and I know the perfect track to do that with."

Yasmin snorted, "Oh, so little Lin thinks she has home-track advantage," she said smugly. "We'll see Lin. We'll see," Yasmin said as she wait for the next race to start.

"Yeah we will," Lin said in a sarcastic tone of voice as she backed into her pod again to pick another track she custom made for racers just like Yasmin. If this was just the first hour of them playing games with each other, then Lin couldn't wait to see how the whole weekend turned out with her best friend...who she wished was a bit more than that.
