May 5: On to the next round!

With a minute left in the game, all I could do was wait and watch my team fight their hardest in the last few moments of the game. The coach moved the minutes around again for the team, leaving me and Josh sitting next to each other and cheering the team on in the fourth quarter. This whole experience was so...unreal. That rumor about me and Josh...still on my mind, but with everything else going on, it's better to not think about it. Funny thing is, staying close with Josh...makes it all better. Anyway, there was still the game. I got a few points up when I could and kept the offense moving. Now, I was just glad we were in the lead and time was running out. 31 seconds left. My tail started wagging fast. We're gonna win. We're gonna win the series. Josh nudged my shoulder and said:

"Hey, quit hitting me with that thing. I'm trying to watch the game."

I then grabbed his arm tight and screamed:

"We're gonna win! We got this!"

15 seconds left. You could hear the crowd go quite, but our bench was booming. We counted it down until finally, the buzzer sounded off and we cheered. We beat the Spirits 4-2. It took some fighting, some injuries, some trash talking, but we made it and we are going to the next round! I couldn't be happier.

We all cheered on the way to the locker room.

"Lets go Mayors! Lets go Mayors!"

You know what...the playoffs...they have nothing on the regular season. The team was different now. We were closer than ever and all focused on one goal. We had Hassan back, T-balt was playing his best, and Wendy was....well...lets just say that I'm glad we're on the same team. Once we all settled down in the locker room, coach calmed us down.

"Alright, alright, listen everyone." He said. "I'm going to be the first one to say that you all fought hard this series. We had a few close games, but that didn't matter. We came here to play, we came here to win, and we're gonna play even harder next round!"

We cheered one last time. High-fives for everyone. My tail was still wagging. My first FBA playoffs and we were starting of alright. I went over to Josh and threw a towel at him for fun.

"Um, why are you throwing your sweat at me?"

"Great game fluff ball." I said.

"You too...crazy tail."

"Oh, you gave me a nickname now?"

"You keep hitting me with that thing then yea, that will be your new nickname."

I laughed and then said:

"So, dinner tonight?"

"I don't think anyone is going anywhere?" Said Josh.

"No," I said while changing my shoes. "Just you and me."

Josh was silent for a while. I was getting a little nervous.

"Is that a problem?" I asked.

"Nope." said Josh "What do you want to get?"

My tail started wagged again and I said: "There was this nice spanish restaurant we passed. Could go there and celebrate."

"See you there." He said.

I nudged him on the arm and finished up in the locker room. On my way out, I ran into Wei. He was just waiting outside an office with some paperwork. I didn't think of anything to say so I just past by him.

"Did you see that coyote out there?" He said.

Of course he had to say something.

"What about her?" I asked.

"Well, she had a good game, but she really didn't play long. What do you think about that?"

I smiled and said:

"You know. I didn't see her. But I did see a very determined team kick some ass out there."

Wei laughed and said:

"You're learning."

"See you tomorrow, Wei." I said. Then I continued on my way to go celebrate with Josh. Just me and Josh....sounds fun.
