Liken faltered backwards from the shattering truth Carpender had just revealed to her, the Valgary's mind raced with questions too many in fact to pick the first one. The hovering necromancer laughed with his voice echoing from under his clean white wrappings.

"Its obvious, Liken, that it's a bit hard to take in all at once, but maybe I shouldn't have been so..." Carpender paused to think of a word. "...Blunt, about it.

Dread Lord Yom'thar nodded in agreement. "Maybe you should just tell the young one from the start"

Carpender turned around to face his old friend. "Capital idea!" the necromancer responded as he began to toy with the loose wrapping that hung from his arm as he thought about where to begin.

Nalfiria sighed and folded her arms. "Just tell it 'right' from the start, Carpender."

"Very well" he answered. "Like I said, Liken, my followers and I have been cooperating with the resistance lead by Lord Xross and Commander To'vash since...well since I joined Khaos really. Nalfiria, Yom‘thar and a handful of Darkspawns under my direct command are all part of the resistance as well and of course my genesis army."

The necromancer let out a hearty laugh but Nalfiria and Yom'thar didn't join the banter, instead they watch Carpender finished silently. "Now I'm sure your head is filled with questions" he smiled.

Liken stuttered. "Bu...but..."

Carpender look towards his friend, Yom'thar, and gave out and order. "Continue scanning for any would be listeners, we wouldn't want our operation to be detected."

"Of course" he nodded and the large Ra'ktan walked back to his computer station.

Carpender turned towards Liken who was now scratching her head trying to understand the situation more. "When I joined Khaos it was believed that ‘I' was corrupted. When Baphomet pretended to be my mate and then faked her own death so I would join Khaos looking for a way to bring her back, I used this knowledge against them and infiltrated their ranks where I became the Apothecary Lord."

The Valgary scratched her head again. "Makes sense bu-"

"Please hold all questions until I'm done explaining" he laughed before continuing.

"The hardest task was to keep the trust and get rid of any suspicion that Queen Baphomet or Lord Azaeal may have against me of my true motives."

Carpender floated even closer to the ground.

"In order to keep the trust of my new...co-workers...I had to display my undying loyalty through tasks I'm not proud of."

Liken watched several lasher genesis creatures shamble their way past her as they made their daily security route around the underground complex. "And these undead are?" she asked

"A sin I have committed. When I was still the leader of my people necromancy was one of the most terrible of crimes one could do in Ra'ktan law. Ironic isn't? That this is what I have to do."

"Then why do it! Why not simply be apart of House Laybrinth?" the Valgary asked.

"Queen Baphomet thought it would be most fit, since I did kill the avatar of this house when Lord Laybrinth and Lord Chrun'ell tried to assault the Ra'ktan home world. And a perfect way to test my new faith" Carpender answered.

"But why all this fighting? Why not simply split from Khaos when VALOR first showed up and helped the humans..."

Carpender's feet touched the ground and he began to walk towards Liken. "Because we needed to test the human's resolve. If they couldn't defeat my genesis creatures then there was no hope against Lord Azaeal and Malaga Darkrune."

Liken nodded in agreement as he continued.

"If we had rebelled against the rest of Khaos when VALOR forces began engaging House Laybrinth we would have lost everything we all worked so hard for if the humans weren't so formidable. The gamble was too high but I give Lord Xross and To'vash as much information as I can under the radar and before you ask, If more people knew about my true motives, then Khaos would have a much higher chance of getting that person as a prisoner."

The Valgary rubbed her head realizing she had been in the presence of the people who most likely gave her home planet's location to the humans without knowing it. "So it was you Carpender who allowed the humans to find my people..." spoke Liken building up anger in each word.

"As, I said before. I did terrible acts to gain the trust of the avatars, which included the total genocide of the Valgary race. I was told to make a battle plan that would not win the battle of Sepress Prime but end it with heavy causalities on both sides. I am sorry" Carpender took in a breath.

"When I found you Liken at the tram wreck after its destruction...I felt obligated to help you. I kept your presence a secret for as long as I could before Malaga ordered your termination, which I tried to do."

"When you tried to kill Nalfiria and I in the arena?"

"I stated in my report that you were killed by my genesis creatures, Nalfiria was there to protect you in case you were to be losing."

"Nalfiria defend me? You're joking, right?" Liken question

"Hardly." Nalfiria responded but not in her dim witted tone when Liken first arrived in her new ‘family' but as Zhakaev when he wasn't in the mood for playing around.

Yom'thar alerted Carpender that the room was now compromised and was now prone to a third party listener; the clever necromancer went back to his old act. "We will continue this conversation at a later date, now get out of my sight!"

Yom'thar grunted as Nalfiria showed herself the way out.

Grandmaster Warlock Lord, Malaga Darkrune kept his eyes focused on the stolen human text, with a nod of his head the page turned for the Ra'ktan and he continued to read the human's simple language.

"It's amazing" The warlock whispered to himself. "A race of culturally deprived Neanderthals whose language is made up of a pitiful twenty-six letters, have the technology to colonize other worlds."

"Well they are a motivated little group of insects, I... would be too.... if I was luckily... to reach.... the meagre.... life span... of two hundred... and ten" croaked Baphomet as she stood up against one of the many pillars in the central room.

The elder warlock rubbed his forehead and sighed. He handed the report to the shield solider on his right before acknowledging the presence of the avatar.

"And what do I owe the honor of this visit" greeted Malaga

The dripping clay monster gave the best smile she could before her expression was washed away from its own liquid like substance. "This... is... how you greet... an avatar of... Khaos?" rasped Baphomet

"My apologies for not arranging a welcoming ceremony for an unexpected guest, I'll be sure to gain the power to predict the future" sarcastically said Malaga

Baphomet let out a hacking cough; she thumped her chest hard and vomited out a build up of excess clay that made it difficult to talk. The white lump landed on the ground near her left leg only to rejoin the rest of her body moments later.

"You may be Lord Azaeal's heir, but I think you forgetting on how to talk to an avatar, more importantly me." She answered.

The warlock dismissed the avatar's narcissism and reached for his elaborate staff that the shield solider beside him held out. "Time is of the essence Baphomet, it only a matter of cycles before the spell bindings of Lord Khaos's prison is all but destroyed."

Malaga Darkrune slammed his staff onto the ground to activate the previously dormant offering circle, the portal cackled to life as shield soldiers began opening the confined jails of captured rebels and their human allies.

"And... what of the... Justicar?" smiled Baphomet who was always delighted to see the Ra'ktan squirm.

The warlock turned around now with his hood on darkening his face. "The human has become...problematic, but Carpender assures me that the heretic will receives what he deserves."

Baphomet laughed small white chunks of the clay like substance was coughed up onto Malaga's robe. "And... how is.... that working... out?"

"The Justicar is like no other human we have ever faced before. We have already underestimated the human's capabilities once before during the first war and suffered the repercussions. He must be the most brilliant and skilled of his race, some sort of elite alpha male..." Malaga pondered.

"That's what she said!" laughed the Justicar with his mouth still filled with food.

Zhakaev covered his forehead with his palm from Arjun's remark. "You're a moron, human"

The Justicar swallowed his meal in one last gulp before answering. "Hey, somebody had to say it"

The half Darkspawn muttered in his own language as he stabbed the instant made meal with his fork. To'vash chuckled to himself from understanding Zhakaev's comment, Arjun stood from his metal chair. "What did he call me!" questioned the Justicar

To'vash smiled and waved his hand. "It's nothing, sit back down." He ordered.

Arjun slowly fell back onto his chair as he felt some pleasure from being out of his power armor and in more comfy civilian clothing . He watched Zhakaev rip apart the unfrozen Salisbury steak with his many razor sharp teeth that his species was most noticeable for.

"Like I said before To'vash, you know before the giant zombie thin-

"Genesis behemoth" interrupted To'vash on the correct naming

"Yea...giant zombie thing, anyway... you never answered why we have a Darkspawn in our squad. Maybe I'm just crazy but I thought they were crazy zealots bent on destruction" he asked

Zhakaev raised the left set of his eyes from Arjun's question in offence as To'vash quickly responded. "He is half Darkspawn, his father was a Ra'ktan."

"Well excuse me for not being able to see his heritage but he is still a Darkspawn" Arjun's eyes narrowed as he looked at Zhakaev. " No matter what his background is."

Zhakaev meet the Justicar's eyes. "Tread carefully, human, without your armor I can rip out your skull and beat you to death with it."

"I would like you to try before I shove my foot so far up your ass you will be tasting leather!"

To'vash set aside his tasteless instant meal and folded his arms as he lay back on the metal chair. "Arjun Fiaz, you have to realize not all Darkspawns are sociopaths when they defect from Khaos not to mention your gun-ho attitude to killing is a bit concerning."

"Of course I have a ‘gun-ho' attitude! I wear the most awesome piece of technology VALOR as ever designed ‘and' I kick ass on a daily business. Hell I'm surprised I don't have my own biography!" boasted the Justicar as relaxed in his civilian clothing for once in a long time.

"No one would want to read about your adventures, human. " snarled Zhakaev.

"What do you know ten eyes! Your just mad if I had a story about me you would be some stupid-ass side character. Besides, I do amazing things ,Dorkspawn , like when you were guarding that lame ass tram of yours before I blew it up, man it rained Valgary parts for days I think" Arjun laughed.

Zhakaev didn't respond instead he got off his seat and walked away towards the mess hall's exit with his head hung low leaving his tray still at the table.

"The hells his problem?" asked the Justicar. "What have I ever done to him!"

To'vash sighed and shook his head. "I think we need to have a talk."

[Planet; Sigma 9, year 3,586, Tuesday May 28th, 5:23 PM. Supreme Demonic Cathedral of Lord Khaos. Central complex, Pit of Azaeal]

Malaga Darkrune stood at the entrance of the pitch-black abyss. He stood alone inside the darkened chamber which housed the avatar of death, himself. The very presence of the omnipotent being sent unseen ripples of dark energy through out the cavern echoing off the demigod's cavern walls. The warlock starred down the massive chasm until he was called out by a voice which boomed across the enclave.

"You dare entire my lair un announced? What is the meaning for your intrusion"

The warlock bowed to the unseen avatar. "My lord the human sinners are pushing back all of our armies. ..they are already on route to Makgana IV"

Rocks from the ceiling began to crumble and collapse and stalactites plummeted to the ground as the avatar of death rose of from the bowels of his crater, Malaga shielded his eyes with his hand or risk suffering the repercussion's of the avatar's stare.

The warlock took a quick glance at his master to see the upper half of the enormous demigod was visible while his lower half remained blocked by the unholy crater. The cavern quickly flared blood red for an instant illuminating the cavern before it went to total darkness once more, a black uncompleted halo appeared on the back of the avatar creating a giant bladed 'U', slender metal wings jetted from the evil halo before having several large blades appear acting as bird's feathers for the demigod's wings.

"This is unacceptable Darkrune! You have needlessly held back against the heathens for far to long! My personal legions will reinforce Carpender's defences effective immediately! "Ordered Azaeal

"But what about the lord‘s summoning, surely House Azaeal will be needed here to continue it." asked Malaga.

"There won't BE a summoning if your incompetence continues! The priests can continue while my more devoted worshippers will make the human's bleed for their ignorance."

The warlock bowed. "Yes my lord."

[UNSF VALOR Destroyer-class Cruiser. War and Peace, year 3,586, Tuesday May 28th, 6:22 PM. Hall-way 257]

"Wait ,wait, wait a minute! So you are telling me when I, the kickassticar, blew up the tram thingy on Sepress Prime I also blew up Zhakaev's best friend but some how survived a nuclear explosion who is now taken in by a powerful necromancer who is not really a bad guy but secretly uses his undead to test our strength to see if we can actually defeat the Forces of Khaos and when we do prove our selves we will launch a massive joint operation onto the Khaos home world and stop..."

The Justicar panted as he tried to catch his breath.

"Lord Khaos from being summoned into our realm who will bring the end of the universe as we know it. But of course you do not tell Zhakaev that Liken is really alive because you want his mind focused on the battles at hand and not have his mind wander...."

To'vash nodded. "To put it that bluntly... yes."

"Well that's some confusing shi-"responded Arjun before the entire ship shook violently sending the human face first into the wall.

To'vash look out the port of hole of the capital ship to find several Khaos warships already firing upon the human fleet, Arjun rose to his feet and wiped away the trickle of blood that ran down his nose. "Hell was that all about!"

The daemon didn't answer instead he swore under his breath in his native tongue before turning around. "House Azaeal warships."

"House whatzeal?" asked Arjun

To'vash sighed. "Now isn't the time to be moronic human, get your armour. We have a ship to defend."
