#1 of The Dragon Warrior

Hi all, it's been a while!

This story started as my interest in the space opera genre arose after watching Jupiter Ascending and replaying Mass Effect, so I happen to want to start another multi-genre

This is but a prologue to explain of the new world I'm making, but the main story would include many genres that expanded from Science Fiction Space Opera, with a little element of Adventure, Horror, Action, and in depth Character. Because of that, I decided that each chapter would be far longer than many of the stories I wrote before.

Anyway, please enjoy the prologue. The first chapter will be simultaneously uploaded.

The History of the World we know as Terra

The world of Terra is the world where this story takes place, where all of the things we know of the real world is different, if not the same, with the world we usually called earth. Terra, while it's almost the same, with the atmosphere and topography that reflects the earth, is not similar with Earth. To say the least, here I give you the history of the world as Terra.

So many years before the story starts, the world of Terra, with countless other worlds in the universe, were nothing but grounded race with no knowledge for space travel. The world was populated by all sorts of beast races, including men and other races based on animals. The world was full of creatures out of the real world's storybooks, including dragons and many others. There was a time when the men and the beast races finished cataloging the current known species, and everything was well.

With the advancement of technology, the humanoid races of Terra created spaceships and spaceports in the galaxy, meeting up other alien races that inhabited the galaxy. True, during the exploration, there were wars that destroyed many planets and killing many people as the result. Only recently, around 10 years before this story, a federation was formed of five space-faring aliens, including Terrans, Aquros, Scyllas, Birones, and Aldoon. Since them, 30 other aliens had joined the federation and helped the people of Terra to flourish and advanced into the second age of Enlightenment, yet that's not our focus.

During the war, the Terrans had a formidable special ops unit that's still in operation today, called the Warriors. This group consisted of specially-trained beast races and humans in peak physical condition and superb ability, yet to be a Warrior, one must follow the Rite, which influenced the mind and body to the breaking point, often killing more candidates than getting one, even if they were dragons. Those who survived became a dangerous person with specialties in one type of skill that depends on what school they were in. The dragons were an exception. Due to their natural ability, they were usually a skilled magic user that employed magical augmentations to their weapons, which had a different twist with the use of technology. For this purpose only, the Terran military created unique weapons with high sync rate with magic. A distinctive feature of a Warrior could be seen from their eyes. Some Warriors have black sclera, and depending on what race they are, may have different eye color. Other distinctive feature was the unnatural skin tone, with the dragons had a darker color (no black scaled draconians existed in this world) for their scales, regardless of race.

The warriors were notorious for their anti-heroic attitude, something the new federation was wary of. During the galactic wars, many warriors became war criminals for the massacres they committed, despite of the nature of the war itself being chaotic and dangerous. After the war, despite being operational, the Warriors had no high positions in the Terran government and military, and resorted on bounty hunting and other sorts of jobs that's not accepted in terms of morality. Ironically, despite of being treated in disdain, many alien races referred to their help, albeit reluctantly, in sorting out many of their own problems. Some off-Terran colonies reluctantly resorted for their help, and some Terrans even hail them as a hero.

Yet somehow, everything in this world will never be the same again as it was before, all because of the involvement of a warrior....
