Meaningless Renamon

On the edge of a great forest, there lived a very poor woodcutter with his wife and his two children, Hansel and Gretel. His second wife often ill-treated the children and was forever nagging the woodcutter.

** "Father, can you please change a new mother for us?" Hansel asked sadly.**

"Son, I' **m already sixty and not handsome anymore. Sorry, I can*' *t find a new mother for you," his father answered, smiling.**

"Then father, why you married her?" Gretel asked carefully.

"Daughter, love is blind. She was a good woman when I dated her," their father sighed.

The family had little enough to eat, and once there was a great famine in the land the man could no longer even get them their daily bread.

"There is not enough food in the house for us all. There are too many mouths to feed! We must get rid of the two brats," his wife declared. And she kept on trying to persuade her husband to abandon his children in the forest.

"Honey, why you hated them so much?" her husband asked slowly.

"Because they' **re not my children, darling," the wife answered, giggling.**

One night.

"I' **ll tell you what, darling," the step-mother said with a smile, "early tomorrow morning we*' *ll take the children out into the forest to where it is the thickest. There we*' *ll light a fire for them, and give each of them one more piece of bread, and then we*' *ll go to our work and leave them alone. They*' *ll not find the way home again, and we shall be rid of them."**

"I won' **t do that. How can I bear to leave my children? You*' *re too old and can*' *t make babies anymore,"** her husband rejected.

"Ok, what' **re you go**** ing **** to **** do now? No neighbors willing to help us *, winter is coming and we're running out of food. You can't work during winter time, nor go out to buy food," she remarked. "But if we let the kids go, both of us still can survive until the next season. There's no way for four of us to survive until the next season. So, either we all go to the Heaven together, or only the two kids go."*

Behind that quietness his nerves are jangling, he' **s in a terrible state.**

"Well, I guess you' **re right**** , ***"* he replied glumly.

The next morning, their parents carried out their plans. The woodcutter had plucked up enough courage to desert his kids, had mumbled an excuse and was gone. "Darling, don't look back," the step-mother advised.

One hour later.

"Brother, I need to pee - urgently," Gretel complained.

Hansel ** look around in bewilderment. *"Sister, look at that smoke. There must be a house there, we can borrow their * toilet," **** Hansel **** suggested. **** Gretel **** nodded **** her **** head **** fiercely, **** her **** bladder **** was **** full **** and **** was **** going **** to **** explode.**

When they approached the little house they saw that it was built of bread and covered with cakes, but that the windows were of clear sugar.

The pudding-door quietly swung open before Hansel could knock it. "Little kids," an old woman said, "** w *hat' *re you doing here?" She was hideous of appearance, mumbling to herself with that dreamy, ghastly smile. Her hair was lank and lusterless, falling around her like strings of rotting straw.

"We' **re lost, we believe that our parents purposely left us here. By the way, can I borrow your toilet?" Gretel informed** her.

"Sure, please come in but don' **t try to eat anything**** , ***"* the old woman stated.

A few minutes later** Gretel came out from the washroom.**

"Kids, there' **re some rich people at the back of my house, you can ask them to give you some food**** , ***"* the old woman declared.

"Thank you," the kids answered in one voice and left the house. They ** turned to a small road and **** headed for the houses at the back. Soon they saw a couple and decided to plead them for some food.**

"What' **re you doing here?" the** woman asked gently.

Hansel and Gretel told her about their parents** , again ***.*

"My husband and I doesn' **t have any kids, do you want to become our children?"** she asked eagerly.

"Yes, mother, father!"

**They were now leading a very happy life.

The end.**

"Oh my God! Human movies are so meaningless and boring!" a six** -f *oo* t tall yellow fox said contemptuously. She turned off the Sony LED TV and yawned. **** After all enemies were defeated and the portal was sealed, the Digimon could stay on the Earth.**

At that moment, the phone rang. She picked up the phone slowly, "Yes? Renamon here."

"Guilmon here. Will you join us for picnic tomorrow morning? Digimon only, no humans."

"Sure, I' **m already bored with the humans.** No more fighting, everyday TV, TV and TV! My paws are too huge to play PC and PS4, gah!" ** Renamon grumbled.**

"** Calm down ***, each of us will bring* along some food. Mr and Mrs Impmon will bring pudding. I' **ll bring breads. Mr and Mrs Lopmon haven*' *t decided yet."**

"Then I' **ll bring sandwiches."**

"** OK, I'll inform Lopmon family. **** Thanks Renamon ***, cya tomorrow morning.* Ciao."

The end.
