Lon3Wulf - Born from sin

Unlike most digimon, I did not come from an egg, but from a manifestation or formation of data. The data that bore me was of a specific genre, one based off of a certain set of emotions. Angst, hate, lust, fear, sin. I think that's why my skin is the way it is, to represent that. These emotions however, aren't the only ones I feel. I can feel happiness and the like, just like most digimon. It's just what brought me into this world that separates me from them. All the instant messages, emails, threats, blogs, files and etcetera in cyberspace feed something and created me. The purpose I serve is still a mystery: a creature born from negative feelings with no one to call a parent or a friend. Although, I have to admit, if anyone had seen me when I appeared their safety would have been questionable. I woke up on what some say "the wrong side of the bed."

It started with little particles floating in the air, fluttering about in a circle before joining together. They formed a little white ball that grew slightly as time passed on and with that constant change was its color: from white to black. After days had passed and the sphere matured, it seemed to have exploded like a flash grenade. A pulsating wave flew across an entire quadrant of the digital world, letting everyone within that distance know something big had been unleashed. A crater had formed as if a wrecking ball smashed into the tropical soil and there I was, screaming and crying in what had to be the worst kind of pain ever imagined. I wanted to die and I was just brought into this world. My skin burnt and my blood boiled for what seemed to be an eternity. After it subsided, my breathing and muscle control regulated and I stood up. I circled my position to fully absorb where I was and if there was any danger. Then, I looked at myself to see if I was wounded and what I was for the most part. A black flamedramon from what I could tell upon seeing my arms and legs. I checked to see if my tail was there and if it too resembled the aforementioned digimon's. Everything seemed to be in order; tail, snout, clawed hands and feet and posture. One thing wasn't in order, my stomach. A loud growl and rumble emitted from my lower torso and I clenched it, leaning forward a bit. And so, began my first journey: a hunt for food.

I surprised myself for how long I walked in this jungle, cutting through the foliage and walking through bogs, swamps and rivers. Hell, I already droned out the noises of caws and chirps that filled the atmosphere. North, that's where I was headed for some odd reason or another. I kept thinking about my goal and where I was headed. "North for food" replayed in my skull to keep me in line and focused on the objective at hand. Although in another hour or so, "Just kill yourself" might replace the repeated phrase if I don't get something to eat!

Thirteen hours, forty eight minutes and six seconds. That's how long it took before something finally came into view. A village of rookie digimon it looked liked from what I could see, lurking in the distance. As I approached the small town, I passed a pond and noticed children playing. One of them saw me and froze in an instant, locked in a dead stare until the rest of the group caught on, little guilmon boys and girls just standing there as if death walked up to them. Then I remembered my appearance and had to make a quick decision. I told them to be quiet and I wasn't going to hurt them. "I'm not a bad guy, I'm just hungry so if you could..." I whispered before another digimon entered the scene. A female renamon strutted in, smiling before frowning with her head tilt in confusion as she saw the kids just locked in place. "Look, I just need food, I mean no harm..." I said hunched slightly from fatigue. She noticed me then and shock took her entire body over it seemed. After an awkward silence, I moved my hand towards her and one of the children screamed. "Shit!" both the renamon and I muttered as the kids retreated, renamon following suit. Adrenaline filled my system, giving me the strength to catch up, but it was too late. I slowed down as I entered a clearing, now with a real problem. Warriors with spears and some with claws ready, all pointed at me, were ready for an attack.

"Who are you?" someone questioned aloud.

I set my sights on the speaker, an older guilmon who was standing next to the renamon I saw earlier. He was probably the chieftain or something, as he had a headdress and other assorted accessories. "I'm just in search of sustenance... if you could be so kind..." I replied.

"Answer the question, monster!" one of the poised soldiers yelled.

The elder just raised his hand and the warrior was taken away by the renamon. He was taken out of sight and she returned shortly. "Give me your name, son..." the chieftain asked.

"I have no name... answer and food is all I seek."

"No name... hurm...tell me, are you what caused that disturbance earlier?"

I just nodded, watching the militia slowly relaxing as they grew tired from their pose until they stood weapons vertical by their sides. People started to appear in the windows and doorways of their thatched-roofed homes, fear and panic filled their faces.

"Food, I can give you. Answers and shelter, I cannot provide. I am sorry. I will give you that which is possible but then you must go."

"I thank you for the offer, but I need some answers."

"Answers?" the renamon chuckled. "To what may I ask?"

"To my purpose in this realm." I retorted.

"We are greatly sorry, but we are limited to what you seek. Take what we have and we'll point you in the right direction when you leave." She sighed and offered.

"I thank you and your people." I stated as I approached the pair of leaders, the spears and bodies retuned to an ‘at arms' position. I ignored them and knelt before the guilmon and the renamon, giving thanks to him and his people.

"Here, take this basket and head west of here. There is a flamedramon shaman in the mountains. He might have the insight you seek." The renamon said with the basket in her hand.

I stood up and took the bundle from her, smiling and giving one last look around. Everyone was still afraid of me, glad of my departure. "Thank you..." I muttered before heading out with my head lowered and my stomach still growling.
