Hunters are like the wind. Swift, powerful, and everywhere at once. Our pack's hunters provide the main supply of meat. Without them, food is more limited.
The word "hunter" actually servers as our description for what they have to be:
Hungry- No one eats if there is no meat
United- No single wolf can takedown a moose
Nocturnal- Darkness is the ally of an unseen predator
Tough- Strength is a key that opens many doors
Everywhere- Know the land. Walk the land. Be the land
Reliable- Trust can save lives, and end them
When my brother was younger, all he wanted to do was be a hunter. Trey would follow behind my father's hunting parties until he was told to go back. Once, Trey stepped on a twig and spooked a deer that my father was about to attack.
Hunter is one of three groups that gets food for the pack. The other two are fisher and gatherer. While hunters are only males, fishers and gatherers can be both male and female. Fishers watch the streams and lake that are in our territory. They collect fish and fresh water. Gatherers do many things. They collect berries (both for medicine and eating), wood for fires, and tiny animals like mice or squirrels.
The Alpha Hunt is the private hunting group for the Alpha whenever he wants a private group. The Alpha can join any party but sometimes it is fun to hunt with close friends and family. A tip for futures Alphas: Time your hunts. Regular hunters are out all day, but if you are in a Alpha Hunt or alone, time your hunts for the right times to get certain meats. Also, if you go solo, make sure to have a guard or someone to back you up in danger.
