The Reader's Choice

by Mog Moogle and the Readers ^.^

The cool metal of on the frame of the glass door radiates to your paw pad as you push it open and step inside. Your nostrils are greeted with an olfactory overload of ground coffee beans and frothed milk as the hardwood floor creaks under your feet, but the sound of it is covered by the bustle of the small shop. Patrons sit around tables and in the lounge chairs and sofas, some of them with their muzzles in laptops or books, others talking among themselves.

The walls are decorated with paintings and photographs from local artists, there are bookshelves, a few low tables and high tables around the room. Most of the tables are occupied. The service counter is in the middle of the shop in an island style with room on both sides of it to the walls. You notice there is no line at the register and you could go up and place an order with no wait if you desired.

With a quick scan of the interior, you see a male tiger sitting at a high table by himself. He glances up at you and locks eyes for a moment before looking back at the paperback novel in his paws. As your eyes shift away from him and toward your left, you see a vixen sitting on a couch near the door. She has a mildly-stoic expression as she looks at the steaming cup in her paws. She also looks up at you and gives you a small smile before looking away.

You decide to approach the tiger.
