#3 of Countdown

The sequel to Countdown, Dr. Ian Sirius has anthrotized much of the world with his bio-agent and only a few hold-outs are left that are trying to desperately find the cure. Can they find it in time to save their humanity or will they fall like the countless others before them?

Commission for TiranMaster

The ground shook underneath the feet of the soldiers as they ran in the wide stone corridor that ran nearly a mile underneath the stone. The entire facility was nestled deep within a huge mountain; it had originally been a decommissioned army base but when the Havensboro Downfall happened that caused an entire country, and eventually the world, to turn into furry anthros. The cause was a biological agent created by a mad scientist by the name of Dr. Sirius, a rubber-covered dragon that declared himself the leader of the world once most of the population had been converted. As far as the group of human scientists and soldiers knew they were the only humans left.

Before the spread of the anthro virus reached beyond the Havensboro Downfall the humans moved into the fortified bunker under the mountain and converted it into a scientific research facility. By the time the rest of humanity fell they had completely retrofitted the space to combat the bio-agent that plagued their world, complete with air filtration systems to make sure the gas that had transformed everyone else didn't leak into their labs. There were hundreds of people that depended on the facility to remain human, but it was put to the test when Dr. Sirius and his elite alpha dragon force finally found out about their location after one of the facility's scouting parties were captured and converted. Only a few days after they had lost the scouts their entire lab became under siege by Dr. Sirius' forces, which caused the researchers inside to grow ever more desperate.

"All of you, hurry up!" A man in a white lab coat said as he saw the squad of soldiers rush down the hallway. "We need all hands on deck right now in loading bay 2!"

The scientist and the soldiers ran together and after a hundred yards the tunnel opened up into a huge cavern with several huge metal doors on one end of it. A large group of armed personnel were huddled around a white, writhing cocoon of white netting. As the soldiers continued to level their guns at the objet several scientists in full hazmat suits began to cut away at the material. As more was cut away something black was revealed underneath, all the soldiers tensed up as a draconic, rubber covered arm was unfurled before it dropped limply to the side.

"Are you sure it's safe for them to be working so closely to one of them Dr. Mason?" One of the higher ranking officers asked the man in the coat. "What if he attacks us or tries to convert us?"

"Don't worry, the netting you see around the creature released an electromagnetic pulse that stuns most living creatures, even converted creatures covered in rubber." Mason replied. "The strands are also coated in a neutralizing agent for any residual contaminants that might be on his suit. We've taken every precaution to make sure that we've secured one of these fighters, so now we can reap the fruits of our labors and use Dr. Sirius' own weapons against him."

The soldiers continued to watch as the rest of the dragon was cut out, its limp, rubber-covered body was stripped of anything that looked like a weapon from his body and strapped him down on a medical gurney. The medical team took no chances; metal cuffs bolted to the steel device were locked around the creature's wrists, ankles, torso, biceps, thighs, upper chest, and neck. When they were finished with the restraints they put a needle in the dragon's arm, though they had a hard time as they tried to slide the needle under his scale. When they finally did they hooked up the tube to a plastic bag filled with a clear fluid that contained a powerful sedative they had concocted specifically to take down a dragon man.

Once they were sure that the subject was secure the hazmat team waved the soldiers in their way to clear a path. When they did, their guns still trained on the creature, the team wheeled the dragon back down the hallway and into the expansive laboratory they had created in the military base. They went all the way towards the back of the lab into a room carved from the solid stone, the entrance to it covered with steel and glass. The door opened as soon as they arrived in the area and once they had secured the creature and hooked him up to several machines the rest of the hazmat team left and the door sealed shut after they left.

"Containment protocols complete." Dr. Mason said as three other men in similar lab coats looked on. "Subject was captured on the side of the mountain, no doubt looking for weak points in the facility. We will begin sample extraction in order to try and find a cure to the biological agent that was introduced into the air supply months ago, hopefully finding a key in the infected itself. Extreme care must be taken during this process, the subject must remain under constant sedation and all samples are under level five quarantine protocol."

The other scientists nodded and went about their work, every so often people in hazmat suits would enter the room and draw blood or take a skin sample. They were amazed that every time they cut the rubber and took a sample the suit would knit itself back together. Dr. Mason also had a piece of the suit taken as well and sealed away with the other samples and Dr. Mason couldn't help but leave the observation room in disgust. He went to the break room and poured himself a cup of coffee as the thunder of the attack that happened on the surface of the mountain above them continued to rage on.

"Dr. Mason?" The scientist suddenly heard behind him. He looked up to see one of the scientists, a young man named Julius Forester, stand there with a clipboard and a concerned look on his face. "The subject has awakened if you wish to talk with him."

Dr. Mason nodded and walked back into the research facility, which had greatly increased in activity. With the new samples the lab had swung into full gear to find the cure, but even with the hope that with infected tissues they could speed their results they could all feel the pressure of the outside attack. Even though the fortress was designed to withstand everything up to a nuclear bomb Dr. Mason and the others in charge knew it would be only a matter of time before their defenses would wear down to the point of fracture. What scared Dr. Mason the most was that one small crack in their systems could cause the nefarious biological agent to seep in and everything they worked for would be undone in a second.

When Dr. Mason walked back into the room he saw all the other researchers had gathered around the observation window. It took a few coughs from him to scatter them back to their stations before he came up to it himself. The dragon shifted slightly in his restraints and he groaned loudly, though it appeared that the sedative had done its job. "Has it said anything yet?" He asked the others.

"He appears to be trying to communicate, but he's very out of it still." Julius informed him. "I'm not sure if he'll be able to say anything with how heavily we've sedated him."

"Then stop the sedation drip for ten minutes." Dr. Mason said, which caused a round of gasps from the other researchers.

"Sir, protocol states that any live subject has to be heavily sedated while in the facility." Julius finally spoke up.

"I was the one who wrote most of the protocols when we founded this facility." Dr. Mason replied with a bit of bite to his voice. "They were written when Havensboro was still a localized phenomenon and we could work at our own pace. The enemy knocks at our door at this very second and if we don't find a solution soon then this facility, and our humanity, will be lost. I think that a few breaches of protocol are necessary in light of that."

Julius and the rest of the research team said nothing else as Dr. Mason stood in front of the observation glass and tapped a sequence of numbers into the console. Everyone watched with bated breath as the slow hiss of the constant feed of medicines that were pumped into the isolated dragon abated. It didn't take long before the creature started to move, then thrashed a few times when he fully regained consciousness. When it was clear that the restraints would hold everyone breathed a sigh of relief and Dr. Mason nodded.

"Right then, since you seem so interested in protocols Julius you can be the one that goes in there to interrogate him." Dr. Mason said as he turned to leave. "Take Morris with you, he can do some physical tests on the specimen while you question him. I have to get a status report on how the other divisions are handling the samples we gave them. With any luck we can have a vaccine synthesized within the hour; hell, maybe we can even find a way to strike back on these freaks."

Before anyone could say anything to the contrary Dr. Mason left the room, which left Julius and Morris to look at each other. "I guess we're suiting up." Julius muttered as the two moved to the decontamination chamber.

After a few minutes the two men had gotten their hazmat suits completely on and entered the airlock, their ears popped slightly once the solid steel door had sealed shut behind them and the room became decontaminated once more. When the sterilization process was complete they entered into the quarantine room, the second door also sealing shut as they carefully walked over to the captured creature. The dragon male seemed to whisper something but Julius couldn't tell what it was through the thick rubber of the suit he wore. "Hey, can you guys hear what this thing is saying?" He asked into the intercom on his suit.

"It's faint, but I think it sounds like he's counting." The voice on the other end of the radio replied. "It's hard to tell though, we got the mics up all the way and even with that it's just slightly above audible."

Julius sighed and nodded to Morris, the other scientist set down the case that he had brought in and began to prepare the various tests that they had to administer. "Alright, beginning interview of subject." Julius dictated. "Let the record show that the creature has been taken off heavy sedation despite protocols to the contrary, but so far seems to be unresisting to its restraints. I will begin with asking the creature a series-"

"Frost." The creature suddenly said, which caused both humans to pause as the dragon looked at them with bright blue eyes. "If you're going to keep referring to me in the third person, you may as well do it by my name."

"Frost..." Morris said as he tapped his helmet a few times. "Wait a second, I know you! You're one of the six terrorists that s released the biological agent in the Havensboro air purification towers!"

"I am flattered that you know me, though less so with your choice of wording." Frost replied as his reptilian pupils bounced back and forth between the two. "I was sent here with my other brethren in order to accept the unconditional surrender of this facility and all the occupants within it. Now if you'll just undo these restraints then we could get started."

Julius and Morris both laughed, though it was mostly from nerves as the dragon continued to look at the two of them. "In case you haven't noticed, you're not here to make demands." The human explained. "Look around you, we have you locked up so tight that even if this facility were to fall it would take a week for them to find you. Now I'm here to try and convince you to see the error of your ways and help us find a way to make an antidote to the mutagen Dr. Sirius made. Morris is here to take the answers from your body if your mind isn't willing to divulge the information, got it?"

"Ohhh, a little good cop bad cop, I like your style." Frost said with a cocky grin that made the two humans nervous. "Are you sure your friends behind the mirror would like that? Perhaps you should ask."

At first Julius was about to scoff at such a claim when he saw the evil gleam in the black-scaled creature's eyes. He decided to indulge the prisoner and jokingly called in to see if it was alright with them, but their cynicism turned to fear when they heard nothing on the other end. Two more times Julius tried to call in but received nothing but static, then went up to the mirror and banged on it to get someone's attention. When nothing happened a pit of worry began to deepen within him, especially since the door controls could only be operated by those on the other side.

"Don't worry, they just all suddenly decided they needed a coffee at the same time." Frost said. "I find things work much better when I can actually view my captive audience, though I'm glad to see my little trick was able to work even when I couldn't see them."

"It must be a prank." Morris tried to rationalize as he backed up towards Julius. "They're pulling one over on us, probably getting a good laugh or something."

"Are you kidding me?" Julius shot back. "The enemy is at the gate and Dr. Mason just gave us the most chilling pep-talk of a lifetime. I don't think they're just doing this to prank us."

"Your friend could be right." Frost interjected while he shrugged as best he could while restrained. "Of course they could just be deciding what to do next, I mean, I imagine you broke ten protocols or so when you removed those pieces of your suit and got yourselves contaminated."

For as second the two just looked at the dragon in confusion, then looked down at their own bodies. Julius gasped as he saw that his hands were completely exposed, seeing the gloves set neatly in one corner of the room while Morris made a similar revelation with his shoes. "Great, now they're never going to let us leave." Julius heard Morris say as his mind raced with what had just happened.

"THAT'S what you're concerned about right now?!" Julius nearly shouted. "How about we ask how this happened in the first place?!"

"Oh, you did that about nine minutes ago actually." Frost replied nonchalantly. "Or was it eight? Either way I'm afraid you're stuck here with me until my friends come or you finally come to your senses. You probably have, oh I don't know, seven hours before they even decide to feed you."

"That's it, I've had enough of this thing." Julius said before he turned away and began to talk into the radio again. "Control! Get back in here and get the subject sedated immediately! Once he's out I'm recommending full autopsy, we'll get the answers out of him one way or another."

Julius suddenly felt a sharp force against his back as he was slammed into the window, his helmet ripped off his head and his face pressed against the glass. In the reflection he could see Frost right behind him with his flared nostrils breathing down his neck. "How... how did you..." Julius managed to stutter before he was flipped around and once more pressed against his back.

"Your friend let me go." Frost replied, his scaly head motioned to the paralyzed human behind him. "He is exceptionally weak-willed, I have a sixth sense about such things. As if five little restraints could hold me, you know nothing of our strength... yet."

Before Julius could respond the dragon brought him in for a rough kiss, the human's eyes opened wide as he felt that strange muzzle press against his own lips. He had thought that there would be a lot more fight in his response, but all he could do was brace himself as the rough make-out session continued. Mid-way though Julius felt something warm and rubbery push into his mouth and before he knew it he had Frost's tongue nearly down his own throat as he gripped the bigger male's biceps. When they finally broke off Julius was completely out of breath, he gasped for air as he slid down the wall in sheer shock. At first he thought Frost was about to pounce on him again, but was surprised when he was instead helped back onto his feet and patted on the shoulders.

"What... what do you want from us?" Julius finally asked as Frost turned and walked back towards Morris. The other human appeared to be frozen in place while the dragon moved around him, and as he watched the reptilian creature whispered something into his ear which caused him to immediately start to strip.

"I already told you, I'm here for your surrender." Frost replied simply. "But I know it won't be that easy, so my mate and I have about four other plans just in case. Now I'm going to turn your friend into one of us right in front of you, and not only are you going to watch but you're going to want it before I'm done. Unfortunately for you I have something else in mind... unless of course your think you can hold out until your friends get back. You do have quite the strong will, which is why Morris here is getting changed, don't need someone so enthralled they can hardly function."

Julius wanted to do something, anything, when he saw the dragon take a clawed finger and hook it under Morris's chin, then pulled his head up and their lips met in a deep kiss. It seemed to last forever and as they finally broke away the human tried to lean in to continue it. The dragon waved a claw in his face and then hopped up onto the table that had once contained him.

Frost took his hands and guided the completely enthralled human's head towards his rigid member. Much to Julius's surprise Morris opened his lips and slid his mouth eagerly down on the latex-clad member. He tried to look away from the lewd spectacle that was happening right in front of him but he found his eyes glued to it, especially when black fur began to sprout from his cheeks. The scientist realized in shock that while most of the samples they had gotten from the dragon were inert it appeared that the virus was still present in his seed.

Morris's face began to distort as his head bobbed up and down on the thick cock, the sounds of bone cracking could be heard as the human's fur-covered face began to push out and his nose turn a deep black. Despite the apparent danger Juilus crept towards the two males, his own maleness twitched in his suit as he made his way towards the sample bag that was being dripped on by the leaking dragon. As he got towards the table he could see the fur begin to cascade from Morris's head and down his shoulders, the muscles beneath swelled as the skin of his ears stretched and began to migrate to the top of his head. One of the half-wolf's hands grabbed his reddening cock and began to stroke it as the other eagerly massaged the dragon's groin.

Julius could see each vertebrate in the transforming human pop and stretch as a tail grew out of his spine, his mouth open in shock as his fingers wrapped around the plastic strap of the bag. With his attention distracted he failed to notice the dragon's attention until he felt a strong hand wrap around his wrist and jerk him up until he was nearly face to face with the infected creature. "It's time to end this." Frost whispered as Julius couldn't help but stare at those draconic eyes. "In three... two... one..."

Suddenly Julius found himself stumbling back towards the metal airlock, a voice in his earpiece shouted for him to get inside quickly. Frost and the newly created wolf creature's head both snapped towards where he stood but didn't stop their coupling as the human fell back into the airlock. As he looked down in his hands he realized he had not only had his suit back on but he had somehow managed to grab the specimen bag that contained the dragon's essence, a pure DNA sample that could potentially hold the key to their survival. He waited for the scene to disappear behind him, but instead he heard the crunch of metal as the second door behind him opened and he quickly scrambled through that as well into the control room. "Why the hell aren't you closing the door?!"

"The mechanism is jammed!" The control operator shouted back as he frantically inputted commands onto the console. "The emergency override has been disabled and all my codes are erased!"

Julius sighed in frustration and made his way to the control room door which was thankfully still completely operational. "I have to go to the central lab, I think I have the answer to our problems right here." He said as he held up the leather satchel he had snagged. "You stay behind and keep trying to get the door closed, and if not... just try and stall them for me."

The other humans just looked at each other as Julius ran out and closed the door behind him, then one by one they turned to see that the two transformed males were no longer there. As they stared blankly ahead they heard a small metal canister bang against the wall of the room and before anyone could react it started to emit a bright green smoke. Everyone immediately began to back away, all except for those who were the closest as fur, feathers, or scales began to sprout on their skin. As the gas continued to pour out the already affected individuals began to take off their clothes, one of them reached out and grabbed one of the unaffected scientists and kissed him deeply as his lips turned hard, yellow, and began to push out into a large beak.

"Well this is more like it." Frost said as he stood at the edge of the door, watching as all the scientists succumbed to the virus and mutated. "Wish I could join in but I have some havoc to cause."

Meanwhile a pair of scientists in hazmat suits carefully extracted the petri-dish that contained the piece of the rubber suit. The machine had beeped that like all the other tests the rubber proved to be completely inert. "You know I was expecting a little more out of these suits then just rubber and circuitry leads." One of them said as he placed it back on the counter. "Now I wish I had drawn blood sample duty."

"Well we can't all be lucky Ramses." The other researcher replied as he walked back towards the airlock. "I'll inform Dr. Mason that the suit is a dead-end, you can put the sample away."

Ramses sighed and watched the other man leave before he went down to put the rubber back in the storage container when he saw it wasn't there. A moment of confusion was quickly followed by panic when he looked around the counter and found nothing. It took him a full minute before he finally found the scrap of material underneath the table, breathing a heavy sigh of relief as he put it back into the petri dish and sealed it back up. Even though he was glad that he had found it his mind was racked with how it feel to the floor, and as he scratched his head he opened the unnoticed tear at the neck of his suit slightly wider before he went back to the airlock.

When he got back from the decontamination chamber to the suit storage room he found his partner already there, his air tubes already disconnected and air tank stored away. "Dr. Mason was disappointed." He informed his colleague. "He said to make ourselves useful in any other area in order to expedite their results."

"Sounds like a plan." Ramses said as he began to disassemble his own suit. As they began to talk about other things the already mostly undressed human looked to see his colleague fumble for the third time on his airhose. He walked over to him and asked if he needed any help, the suited man sighed and finally threw up his hands in defeat to let him. "Please get this off Hans, I feel like I'm boiling in here."

"They really do need to find a way to put some sort of AC system in these things, don't they?" Hans replied with a chuckle. His laughter faded a bit as his friend started to laugh, only to trail off into a low wheeze. When it started to sound as though he was in genuine distress Hans pulled at the suit harder and with more force. When Ramses' breaths turned to a low gurgle Hans was just about to stop and reach for the emergency alarm when the helmet of his friend's suit suddenly popped off with a loud hiss.

The helmet clattered to the ground as Hans stepped back in fear, the diagnostic screen inside the helmet flashed the words 'INFECTION DETECTED: SUIT LOCKDOWN INITATED'. The creature that had once been human twisted its serpentine head around and looked at the human. As Ramses stood up the last of the hair that had clung to his head fell away, replaced with smooth black scale as the flesh began to flare out into a cobra-like hood. His face had already formed into the muzzle of an asp, the snake creature flicked its forked tongue at Hans as he watched him began to move towards the panic button.

"Thank you for getting that cursed helmet off my head." Ramses said with an audible hiss added to his accent. "I would hate to have to repay that with violence, but if you go near that button I'm afraid I will have to use force. Why don't you come over here and let me repay you with something far better."

Hans glanced back up at the button before gazing back at the snake man. As they locked eyes Han's jaw slackened slightly, his eyes went glassy as he stared into the iridescent irises of the reptilian creature. The human still could hear the other male talking, but it all became nothing more than a gentle, hissing white noise as he was drawn in. Before the human knew it he felt a pair of rubber-covered lips press against his own.

"Ramses..." Hans said breathily, a hint of a hiss tinged his voice as the nano-rubber began to replicate and deliver their biological agent into his body. His tongue split in two as they continued to make out, and as the rubber continued to spread over his mouth his teeth lengthened into sharpened fangs. As the already fully transformed snakeman began to turn Hans around and strip away the boxers that the human had managed to put on before his failed attempt to save his friend.

For a brief second Hans' resolve came back to him as the rubber began to spread past his lips and turned to reach for the button once more, but as he exposed his back to the creature it just gave the snake man better access to the his rear. As the human reached up in a last-ditch attempt to sound the alarm he suddenly hesitated; the stainless steel wall showed him that almost the entirety of his head had been covered in the thick latex and his ears and other human features had begun to melt. Unbeknownst to him it had begun to penetrate his mind, all he could feel was an increased sense of pleasure and a growing appreciation for what formed beneath the rubber.

Ramses could feel the changing-human begin to surrender in his grasp as he ground his hips against Han's backside. As he did the black material on his groin transferred over to his rump, Ramses' entire body shook as a tail began to form over his scale-covered backside. It didn't take long until the two males had begun to moan as they were caught in the throes of each other's pleasurable embrace, Hans bent forward and put his partially rubberized hands against the wall as Ramses pushed his thick, tapered cock inside his converted hole. Almost immediately Hans let out a gasp as his transformation spread like wildfire, quickly burning away the last of his human features until it was two rubber-covered snakemen that stood there having sex. With his transformation complete he was able to focus more on what his mind had begun to crave, the embrace of his fellow anthro as he clenched his anal walls over his partner's cock and caused the already over-stimulated snakeman behind him to climax hard into his converted body.

As the two creatures panted heavily from the afterglow of their copulation they untangled themselves from each other. Suddenly they looked up when they heard the door to the room click open, a security guard that had decided to come in to check on the noise stood there with wide eyes at the scene before him as they grinned. "I bet I can get to him before you can." Hans said as they looked at the frozen human with a devilish gleam in their eyes as both their reptilian cocks sprang to attention once more.

"You're on." Ramses replied, his grin growing bigger as the guard finally gained the composure to run. "Should be good fun, though I have an idea..."

******************************

Dr. Mason grimaced in frustration as the alarm had blared overhead. Not only had Dr. Sirius' forces managed to breach the outer perimeter but several of their scientists had become infected and wreaked havoc through the upper levels of the facility. The two former humans turned naga had been corralled in the specimen storage area but not after they had managed to transform six others that had gotten in their way. To make matters worse the creature that caused it all had gotten loose and took advantage of the commotion to cause his own trouble with several creature he had infected. All their plans and work were in danger of collapsing within itself and as the doctor looked at the monitors where what remained of their security forces fought against the horde he knew what he had to do.

"Seal off the inner facility." Dr. Mason ordered, which caused several shouts from the people that had gathered there about their friends and family still outside the blast doors. "I don't care who is out there!" He shouted, the roar of protest dulled from the force of his words. "We either do this now and buy ourselves a few days or we risk letting an infected in here and our resistance ends immediately!"

When the security team continued to hesitate he pushed them out of the way and slammed his hand on the lockdown button. Everyone watched on the security cameras as those that were outside the zone saw the bulkheads locking down and motioned for everyone to retreat, only to be met with a wall of solid metal before they turned and continued to fight. Their stand was short lived, many fell with darts embedded in their anatomy before fur, scale, or feather began to sprout from the exposed flesh. Within seconds their convulsing bodies transformed into more of the creatures that originally besieged them, then the converted would rip their now ill-fitting clothes off before they pounced on their former teammates.

Dr. Mason turned away from everyone and began to walk away, still feeling the heat of the glares from his colleagues as he walked back to the lab. Their remaining workstation was the hub of the entire facility, every bit of data and possible antidote sample had made its way to this location in the event of a catastrophic containment breach. That time unfortunately was now and when he entered he saw that everyone was working frantically on the substance that would hopefully be their saving grace. "What's the status of our cure?" He asked.

"We think we managed to synthesize an antidote based on the proteins of the patient zero." One of the scientists said as he handed Dr. Mason a vial. "Thanks to the samples we received I believe we have something that can be used not only to vaccinate against the biological agent but reverse the effects of those already infected. All we have to do is a few more tests and we should be ready to go."

"There's no time for that." Dr. Mason replied. "We're at our last line of defense, as soon as bring in heavy gear they'll breach the blast doors and that will be it." All the scientists stopped and looked while Dr. Mason pulled out an autoinjector and filled it with the liquid. Despite the protests of everyone around him he took the tip of the device and pressed it against his arm, the sound of a click and hiss filled the air as the injector painlessly delivered the possible antidote into his bloodstream. Everyone watched breathlessly as Dr. Mason flexed his arm a few times, and when nothing happened the anxious gasps turned to cries of joy as the scientists all began to congratulate each other.

After a few minutes of revelry Dr. Mason quickly reminded them that they still had a job to do and set the research team on making an airborne version of the antidote. He took the autoinjector and the rest of the vaccine and quickly ran back to the security room, where everyone continued to give him a dirty look as he walked past them to the console. On the monitors he could see that the creatures had gathered around the blast doors, most of them with the tattered remains of the uniforms their security forces wore as what looked like a large drill was being set up. To the crowd's surprise Dr. Mason just smirked and turned off the cameras before he turned back around.

"Have you gone mad!?" One of their remaining guards shouted. "They're almost through!"

"Ladies and gentlemen I assure you that our situation is no longer as dire as it looks." Dr. Mason replied confidently to his entire audience as he held up a vial. "We have a vaccine to their biotoxin, and soon we will have the means to strike back at Dr. Sirius and his vile abominations. Now we need to buy our researchers as much time as possible so I thought I would go out and 'parley' with them a little bit. I would appreciate an escort but we only have enough vaccine for two more people, who would like to join me?"

After a few seconds of muttering that swept through the crowd there was a hand that finally raised. "I'll join you Dr. Mason." Julius said as he stepped up. "I was the one who managed to get the unadulterated sample back to the lab for them to make the vaccine out of."

Dr. Mason nodded and pressed the autoinjector against the younger researcher's neck, then looked back up for another volunteer. Once nearly a minute the security guard who spoke up before stepped forward and received the vaccination as well. As the three began to walk down the metal stairs to the door the crowd began to clap, the panicked nature replaced with a cautious sense of hope. When they reached the blast doors they could hear the faint noise of metal scraping against metal on the other side and Dr. Mason nodded towards the security guard to open the blast door. The man punched in the code and they heard the hiss of the hydraulics as the heavy metal began to part.

When the door opened enough for the three to step through they were met with a group of surprised anthros, most of them still in the midst of putting together the drill before they stopped to watch the three humans step through the threshold. "We're here to discuss the possibility of a ceasefire." Dr. Mason said to the creatures as the door slid shut once more behind them. "Please bring us to whomever is in charge of this little operation."

A tiger and fox man quickly rushed up to them while the rest of the group continued to have their guns trained on them. Once they were properly restrained with their hands bound by zip-ties they were brought up and led through the mountain cave. It was hard for the three to tell which ones were their own men and which ones were the opposing force, Dr. Mason frowned slightly when he saw several of the creatures groping one another while they passed. He was rather surprised at how quickly his men had converted, one of the things that was never understood when any resistance to Dr. Sirius rose up was how they quickly managed to not only transform but subjugate the population as well. Perhaps it would be something he learned now, he thought to himself as the tunnel opened into their former cargo bay that had been turned into a mobile command center for the opposing side.

The three were led to one of the tents in the center of the operation and pushed roughly inside. There stood a single dragon, clad in the same rubber suit as the one they had captured with his hands on a screen that showed the basic schematics of the mountain fortress. As soon as they got in they were ushered to empty chairs and forced to sit down at the table as well. The dragon took a quick, almost dismissive glance at them and told the others to remove their bindings. The others did as they were and soon Dr. Mason and the other two rubbed their wrists as the dragon finally regarded them properly.

"Greetings, my name is Silver." The dragon introduced. "I'm curious on what propelled you to such an early surrender, my engineers said that you would have had at least a few more hours before we could have broken into your facility. Why the sudden change of heart, finally see the futility of your actions and decided to surrender?"

"We have come to parley, yes." Dr. Morris bluffed. "You and your kind have the entire world at your disposal, why don't you let us have this one little corner of the globe for us."

Silver smirked and seemed to resist the urge to chuckle at the scientist's statement. "We would be far more inclined to acquiesce to your request if it wasn't for the fact that you're actively trying to undo the gift bestowed to us." The dragon explained. "We have humans that live among us, those that are immune to the initial virus or the communities that left the reach of the air purification systems that want nothing more to live in peace. Your group, on the other hand, has to either be brought into the fold or destroyed in order to protect our new, better way of life and to prevent you from completing your malevolent research."

"We're going to have to agree to disagree." Dr. Morris replied with a smirk, deciding to let the cat out of the bag. "But there is one thing that I am afraid you're going to dislike very much; with the aid of your friend we captured earlier we have synthesized a vaccine in order to stop the spread of your bio-agent, which means that I and my men are incorruptible. So since your primary weapon won't work anymore you're either going to have to kill us and have the blood of defenseless humans on your hands, or you and I are going to have to come to some sort of arrangement."

Silver seemed shocked at what Dr. Morris said, but as the dragon's face slowly went from one of horror to amusement and then laughter he suddenly didn't seem so sure. "Well congratulations on your accomplishment Dr. Morris, it appears you've beaten us." Silver said once his laughter had abated enough for him to talk. "You've put me in a difficult position, I don't think I could stand to have the blood of innocents on my conscious. Although... while you certainly are defenseless," the dragon moved with a speed that caught Dr. Morris by surprise as Silver grabbed his wrist with one clawed hand while the other grabbed the sleeve of his coat and ripped it away, "you are definitely no longer human."

Dr. Morris gasped loudly as the light from the overhead lamp illuminated the luscious pelt of short, black fur that led all the way up to his fingers where the nails had already started to turn black and glossy. The surprised human brought his hand up the foreign arm and felt the same all the way up to his shoulder. "Looks like your vaccine wasn't as effective as you thought." Silver gloated as he let go of Dr. Morris's arm. "Perhaps you should invest in better people."

The changing human's gaze slowly turned from the dragon towards Julius, who just stood there with a fanged grin on his face as black scales began to creep over his face and a pair of horns began to sprout from his skull. His security guard sported a similar look, a set of smaller black scales crept over his body as his nose and lips had already merged into a very serpentine look. Dr. Morris tried to say something but as he opened his mouth his jaw cracked and his face began to stretch out, the skin of his head and face itching as his short hair and beard began to grow out far longer than the rest of his body. He soon realized that he had been transforming far longer than he had realized, he could feel something wiggling just above his rear and pulled his pants down enough for a ropy feline tail to slide out as his thoughts began to grow foggy and clouded.

"Turns out the second you decided to take my mate in you started the clock on your own demises." Frost said as he watched the three transforming humans. "The serum stored in his seed and the programming in his suit performed beautifully, as soon as I heard your alarm went off I know that he had succeeded."

Dr. Morris had already shucked off the rest of his now ill-fitting clothes as he half-listened to the dragon, trying to focus on his humanity as it slipped away from his furred fingers. As his hearing sharpened from his new leonine ears he could hear what Silver was talking about, aside from the blare of the alarm itself he could now recognize a different voice counting down from ten and giving out instruction in between. He knew he had been beaten, out-smarted, and the worst part... he no longer felt that bad about it. With his bothersome human instincts burned away by the bio-agent he could see their new bodies in a whole new light, their fearsome and alien appearance replaced with a utilitarian and... sensual aspect he had failed to realize until now.

"I see someone is coming around, looks like someone who knows that they're destined to be in charge." Silver said with a chuckle as he watched the lion man's expression change. "Now no doubt the rest of your crew has succumbed as well, so we can move on to the next phase of our plan. Dr. Sirius sees a lot of potential in this facility and I can't see a more perfect fit for the one to head it then you. What do you say, ready to become the king of the jungle once more?"

Dr. Morris turned away from watching the snake and dragon that had accompanied him began to fawn over one another and gave the dragon a fanged grin. "A great new body and I get to stay in charge?" The lion said with a loud, throaty chuckle. "Should have led with that in the first place, could have gotten this done a lot faster."

"Dr. Sirius is a patient man." Silver replied as he tried not to shake his head in amazement of his master's effectiveness in hypnotic technique. "After all, the clock always has to run down sooner or later."
