Lyenu of the Sauia

Part 1 of the "Song of the Sauia" Series

Judith woke up with a throbbing headache, the cheerful chirping of the faens nesting just outside her window irritating her when usually they served as a welcome addition to her morning routine. She stood up and winced as her thigh complained, taking a look around her sun-lit room. A knock came from her door, pounding against her head.

"Breakfast is ready. Wash up and get ready before you're late again."

Her mother, of course. "I will, Mother. Give me.. a second or something to wake up." she said through cracked lips.

Her throat felt dry, her head hurt, her thigh hurt, her stomach hurt. It wasn't the start to a day one hoped for. With a sigh and more than a little determination she stood up and limped to the glass mirror she kept in her bathroom. Staring at herself the first thought that came to her was one she was expecting, really. It wasn't a dream... she thought to herself without much feeling. Of course not. It would of been too easy if it was. But no matter how much she wanted to it was beyond the point where she could pretend it was a bad dream. Her bed sheets were stained and reeked of sex. Claw tears marked it clearly where she had torn it in ecstasy. Strips of her pink cotton panties littered the floor and bed and dried lines of blood on her aching thigh detailed the size of the claw that had made them. She even had a barely visible bulge on her usually flat stomach.

She knew she had little choice but to tell her parents. Hopefully they would know what attacked her or take her to someone who did. She only hoped the eggs were not lethal or harmful to her. Gathering her resolve she prepared to march to her door and call her mother into her room to explain what happened. As she moved towards the door of her bathroom however she felt a surge of regret and fear. What if the eggs in her were harmed? They were just trying to be born and survive in a world that cared little for struggling life. She couldn't tell anyone, they would only want to harm the eggs. Especially her parents, they would take her to someone who would remove the eggs from the warm safety of her body.

Judith backed up against the wall in surprise, her heart racing as she panicked. She wanted the eggs out of her at any cost and she didn't care what happened to them. She didn't deserve to be forced into this situation. Yet every time she thought of doing anything that might lead to the eggs being harmed she was overwhelmed by an urge to protect them. Whimpering loudly in frustration and confusion she came to the conclusion that something was forcing her maternal instinct to flare up and overwhelm rational thought. She wasn't sure if it was something that her body did normally, after all at the age of sixteen she had never given birth, or if it was something that feline creature had done to her last night..

Sighing heavily she glanced back into the glass mirror in her bathroom and closely examined herself for any changes. Aside from looking tired, the dried cuts on her thigh, the slight bulge in her belly, and random clumps of matted fur her body seemed to be the same as usual. She was a fit lioness, her body lithe and softly curved. Her creamy brown fur had the silken smoothness and shine granted to a healthy lion. The shorter white fur on her front side was especially soft, smoothly running down from the base of her neck-bone down across her breasts and all the way down to the base of her tail. Her round ears were tinted the warm shade of pink on the inside that many males found attractive and her long tail trailed elegantly behind her. The small nose that rested on her short muzzle shared the same attractive soft pink color her ears and nipples did. Her breasts were not as large as she wished they were but at least they were a nice handful. Finally, her fangs were firm and sharp just as her obsidian claws were, both also signs of health in a lion. All in all she was a very attractive and healthy female. The brutal night she had shared with that strange beast could of been worse, thankfully it seemed it had not done anything to her that she couldn't hide, allowing her to avoid being controlled completely by the maternal fear.

Stepping away from the mirror and taking a deep breath Judith decided she could mull her problem over the day. She was sure she could find a way around the urge to protect the eggs. She needed to do research and possibly find a way to subdue it. Or maybe she could find some way to get herself taken to a healer for examination. Feigning sickness at home wouldn't get her much but her mother's soup unless she said it was serious and already she could feel the fear of harming the eggs creeping at the edges of her mind.

Well, she'd figure it out later. She quickly washed herself in the little tub, not bothering to use the device underneath that heated up the water. The cool water felt wonderful and invigorated her. She quickly got dressed, tossing on a fresh pair of panties and her favorite black cotton slacks and tunic to cheer herself up. Feeling good in the loose clothing she quickly ran downstairs after carefully hiding the torn panties and bed covers in her trash bin. She quickly grabbed a muberry muffin from the table for breakfast and said her farewells to both of her parents, explaining she would skip sitting down for breakfast to make sure she made it on time.

Judith glanced up as she ran out into the bright sun. The clear blue sky was as cloudless as the day before which again meant no rain. Munching on her muffin she began following the dirt road towards the direction of the Alau Academy. An institution with many purposes such as research and alchemical practice it also was used to school the youth of the city on a wide range of topics. Some of it she found useful or interesting but most of it was just boring. It was also probably the best place to get help for her problem since it was also home to many who researched the wildlife around Lortrum. But that would come with time.

"Morning, Judith." a cheerful brown ferret her age greeted. Judith turned towards her friend Aneth and gave her a smile. "Morning." she replied.

"What's wrong, you don't sound so happy? And you look like you've been up all night." she asked as she moved alongside Judith and matched her pace.

"Nothing much.. it's just a long day and the day hasn't even started yet."

"Oh my..well hopefully it gets better."

"I do too."

They walked in silence towards the academy while Judith finished her muffin, idly waving her tail behind her. They soon reached the grounds of the towering building, looking as impressive and intimidating as when she first saw it. Pondering over what her first course of action would be she nearly fell over in surprise when a warm presence followed by the same gentle voice from the night before entered her mind.

"Did you sleep well, little one?" it asked gently.

Judith looked around in shock as Aneth eyed her curiously. "Where are you!? Leave me alone!" she exclaimed, a touch of fear in her voice.

"Where is who, Judith?" asked Aneth, fear creeping into her voice as well. "Are you ok? I'll go get someone if you want.."

Managing to calm herself down to avoid making a scene bigger than she already had, she slowly shook her head. "Uh..no..sorry, I think the lack of sleep is getting to me."

"Lack of sleep?"

"Don't worry about it.. I'll explain later. You go on ahead , I'm going to splash some cold water on my face."

Aneth nodded, though she seemed worried. Judith tried her best to put her at ease by smiling but didn't think it worked that well. She leaned against one of the stone monuments littering the academy grounds and took deep breaths.

"I apologize for startling you... come to the west side of this building. It is secluded and quiet. I wish to talk to you, little one."

Judith laughed out loud. That was the last thing she planned to do. She began to run up the stairs leading into the building before a wave of uneasiness stopped her as the voice returned.

"I suggest you heed my words, little one. I will speak with you one way or another even if I have to drag you away in front of all the other eindriel. I would rather not, however, as I do not want to risk harming the eggs. "

Once again Judith felt the protective urge bubbling inside her, causing her to clench her teeth in anger. Giving up, she slowly walked over to the west side of the building. It was largely unused and rarely saw traffic. After all, it was mostly just trees and other random foliage, but of course that made it a perfect spot to hide. She approached carefully, looking around her as fear and the protective urge to defend the eggs inside her began to rise.

"Wh..where are you?" she asked frightfully as her eyes darted about.

"Here." was the only reply she received

She heard something walk through the brush behind her and quickly turned around. The large feline beast that had placed these eggs inside her last night slowly moved through the brush, pausing to look over Judith. Even knowing this thing was the source of all her recent problems it wasn't fear or anger that sprung into her mind, but awe and admiration. The creature before her was quite possibly the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. It's angelic fur was as smooth as silk, flawless and perfect. Hued the softest cream she could think of she could only describe it as white though she also felt it only ever slightly dipped into the color. A whitish pink tipped the short muzzle and the inside of it's gently curved ears, her own attractive color paling in comparison. A lovely tail trailed behind it, seeming to float gently in the wind like a playful ribbon. It's well toned body gave off nothing short of a sense of elegance and power. Even the few things she found odd spoke of beauty, such as those endlessly deep emerald eyes and the soft black patterns that decorated the white fur all over it's body in thin, wispy, and elegant patterns. Judith was breathless, amazed by the sight before her, and it was not until the soft voice spoke to her again that she returned from her daze.

"Thank you. I am happy you enjoy my appearance. You look lovely as well."

"Um..thank you." she replied, unsure of what else to say.

"Think nothing of it. How are you feeling?"

"Fine I suppose.. am I suppose to be feeling different?" she asked, worry creeping forward once more.

"I do not know."

"Oh..um..you're talking into my mind, right?"

"Yes, I am. I lack the ability to speak vocally like your kind, but this is more than enough. Language is not a barrier, for example. Eventually you too will be able to speak to me in this fashion."

"Huh..!? Why would I be able to do that?"

The angelic creature sat back on it's hind legs, curling it's tail around itself calmly. It stared at her with those emerald green eyes for a moment, seeming to gauge her.

"Call it a...benefit of the process you will undergo to give birth to our children." the voice calmly replied.

That reminded Judith of her current situation. She raised her hand angrily and pointed at the beast before her. "Your children, you mean! I want nothing to do with this and as soon as I find out how I'm getting rid if these eggs! I don't even know what or who you are!"

"I am a Sauia and my name is Lyenu. A pleasure to meet you, Judith."

"How do you know my name?!" she asked, surprised.

"Only the surface of your mind is open to me for the moment. Even so, something as simple as your name is easy to obtain."

For the moment? She didn't like the sound of that...ears flicking and tail curling about nervously, Judith took a deep breath and told herself it was nothing to worry about at the moment. "What do you want with me? I didn't ask for this.."

"No you did not, but I had little choice. As for what I want from you, it is simple. I want you to give birth to our children and raise them with me until they are ready to leave us."

Holding back her rage with amazing willpower, she spoke through clenched teeth. "Let's say I somehow agreed to this. How long would it take?"

"I do not know." Lyenu replied calmly.

"Why me? Can you only breed with us eindriel?"

"We can breed with any female large enough to hold our eggs."

"Then why me?" she asked, desperation and frustration in her voice.

"When is the last time you have seen one of my kind? Have you even heard of the Sauia before today?!" Lyenu demanded.

Lyenu was surprised to hear the strength and anger in the usually calm voice. She shook her heard. "No.. I haven't."

"Then that is reason enough."

"That makes no sense..." Judith complained.

"Our fates are entwined at the moment..to myself this ordeal is simply about our children and your continued health but perhaps for you it will eventually become more. For now all you need to know is that you need me."

"Need you? What ever for? After all, these eggs won't be here for long and I don't want your company." she spat, feeling annoyed.

The Sauia looked at her with the same calmness as before, peering into her with those deep green eyes.

"Your body is changing, Judith. Slowly, but it is changing none the less. The first changes are simple. Already you have difficulty doing anything that would harm our eggs. Soon your first craving will start accompanied by sexual desire not unlike the heat experienced by your particular breed of eindriel."

"My body is...is doing what?!?" she asked, stunned. Lyenu ignored her outburst and continued.

"The craving will only occur when the eggs are not constantly seeded by myself. It is their dry surface that causes it according to what I was told by others of my kind, an effective natural reaction that ensures they receive the correct nutrients often. The sexual desire is caused by your own body, however. Because your body is slowly becoming attuned to mine you will not be able to satisfy yourself through any other method besides using me. If harm should come to me you would eventually grow insane having lost the only way to satisfy the increasing sexual hunger inside of you. The ways of nature are potent, little one, and the worst pains are the ones that should instead grant pleasure. The eggs would only worsen the effect as only I can seed you and dull the aching of the eggs. "

The elegant creature paused for a moment to let it sink in. "You may choose not to believe me, but I will chance on the rational thought your race is supposed to have that heightens you above us 'beasts'. The choice is yours...I will not resist if you call out for the others but in the end we will both suffer and eventually perish. Or you can decide to believe me and save yourself a slow and embarrassing death."

"This...this isn't fair..I didn't want this.." she whispered, twisting her tail as she thought nervously.

"No, it is not. If it makes you feel better, it is not fair for myself either."

Judith didn't bother asking for Lyenu to clarify. She simply didn't care at the moment. Her choices were as limited as they were before. "And you have no idea how long it would take to..you know...and if it would harm me?"

"I am sorry, but I do not know how long it will take. I do however know you will be unharmed."

"Then...," she paused to take a deep brief before continuing, "Let's say I believe what you say. That no one can help me and that if I don't let you..uh, seed me, I'll die. What do you mean by seeding..? What do I have to do?"

"For now you simply need to come to me whenever you feel the craving and I will service you, little one. That is all for the moment. Seeding is..."

Judith felt the warmth from before touch her mind for a brief moment, feeling almost as if someone had caressed her mind.

"Though it is not exactly the same the motions are similar to what your kind calls mating."

"Huh? Mating..? You did say something earlier about sexual cravings... but.. you're a female..or..at least, I think you are.." she replied, confused.

"You are not entirely wrong, but neither are you entirely correct...I will explain later. Still, I prefer to be referred to as a female if that is fine with you, Judith. Now then, do you wish me to service you now?"

Judith didn't like that answer very much but didn't comment. "Er...no. I'm not even sure I'm going to agree with this. It's..to be honest...unbelievable. If I told all that happened to me last night and what you told me today to anyone they would think me insane..I'm not sure I even believe you."

"I can only speak the truth, little one. Sauia are incapable of telling what you call a lie. But I will let you think on it. I will slumber here for the rest of the day. When you are overwhelmed with desire, you know where to find me."

With that Lyenu lowered itself onto the soft grass, curling up and closing her eyes. It was evident the large creature was not going to say any more.

Judith sighed as she stood up and began walking back towards the front of the building. That had been an interesting exchange.. but she wasn't sure she could trust Lyenu. After all wouldn't Lyenu want her to believe her only choice was to be a good little girl and allow herself to be used as a breeding tool? That thought gave her strength. She resolved to continue with her original plan and have herself examined by a healer. She was positive the greater minds of her kind would find a way around nature yet again. Lyenu hadn't counted on that, likely. But first she would have to find away around the maternal instinct keeping her from doing anything that might lead to harming the eggs..

Well, she had all of her first class to think it over. Mathematics was boring enough as it was, made only worse by their boring instructor. It was the perfect lecture to spend drifting off in thought. She began humming to herself as she walked up the stone steps, allowing herself to feel hope and cheer herself up. With luck this will all be behind her soon so she could quickly go about forgetting it.

She could only hope it would be that simple.
