#9 of Champion of the Universe

Hey guys. Sorry for the late upload. I'm kinda lazy. And I am also currently writing another story for another site. Don't hate me:( but I will never abandon this story! Anyways, happy late Fourth of July!!!

Chris was numb to everything around him. Even as he got escorted out by the F-57 drones, he couldn't stop thinking about what happened back at that planet. He couldn't get Emily out of his head, laying in her blood. He just watched her die and couldn't do anything about it.

He was oblivious as they escorted him back to his cell. It was when Chris looked up at the empty bunk that he broke down into tears.

He gripped the edge of his bunk tightly as he wept silently.

"Why did she have to die? Why did I have to get lost? Why couldn't it be me?", Chris sobbed.

He thought about her and how she will never see her family and friends ever again. Chris couldn't deny that even if he barely met her a few days ago, he still had some attachment to her.

"She was a good person? Why her?", Chris cried.

He faced the ceiling, tears staining his face. He bit his lip to quiet himself but couldn't stop the whimpering and moaning. He soon started muttering incoherent words that sounded like pained whines.

It all stopped when a peculiar thought entered his mind. He remembered that Eone stopped him. He prevented him from getting to Emily.

"Why did he stop me?", Chris seethed as he remembered Eone holding him back.

"It was his fault! He stopped me! He's working with that bug!", Chris growled deliriously.

He sat up and proceeded to punch the wall. He winced when the hard wall impacted his knuckles but he didn't care. The pain distracted him from the reality of things. The physical pain numbed his mental pain.

He did so until his knuckles were bruised and bloody. He threw himself back when he couldn't feel anything in his hands and ran out of energy.

His tears were gone, but the salty liquid left their mark on his face.

He breathes heavily. In and out, in and out. His heart which was once racing in his chest was now back to its normal pace. He was wide awake and figured he wouldn't get much sleep anyways.

With nothing else to do, he thought about the situation again back on Wroxstyl. He painfully replayed what happened back there.

He and Eone were about to go into the pods, until he heard someone calling his name. He turned around and was happy and relieved that he saw Emily emerging from the city structures. Then he saw the blizzard rapidly approaching them, urging her to run.

Then it all went bad from there. That stupid centipede thing killed her. He tried to run to Emily but Eone held him back and forced him in the escape pod. He couldn't do anything as he watched that hideous bug seal himself in the last pod. He watched her die.

Chris squirmed at the memory.

"That thing probably would've killed me if I went near it", Chris contemplated.

He replayed the thought in his head, trying to deduce what happened.

"Emily, her dying, me, Eone stopping me. Emily, her dying, me, Eone stopping me. Emily. Her dying. Me. Eone stopping me", he told himself over and over again.

"Eone stopping me. Eone stopping me. Eone. Stopping Me."

His eyes widened as he realized something.

"He didn't want me to save her. That piece of shit!", he seethed with his teeth shut.

"No, he wouldn't do that. We just made an alliance. He wouldn't break it. Would he?", he argued with himself.

"It's a competition so of course he was bound to do it", his first side retorted.

"But we made a pact!", the 2nd side shot back.

He kept tossing his head left and right, grimacing and wincing, fussing over what Eone really did.

He finally sighed when it started to give him a headache.

"Maybe I could save her", he decided.

"You could've! If only he had just-"

"No! What was I gonna do? Drag her into my escape pod and let her take my place?"

He sighed when realized that no matter how times he tried to think around it, he couldn't have saved her. That thought made him sadder nonetheless.

He slumped back against the wall, crying. Unfortunately for him, he was out of tears. He breathed raggedly, trying to calm himself down.

It took awhile until he calmed himself down. He eventually slid back down on the bed, facing the ceiling once again. He regretfully turned his head to the side and cringed when he saw the empty bunk.

With troubled thoughts on his mind, he fell asleep.

***

The ugly cacophony woke him up again. The drones entered his room flashing their buzzing weapons, urging him to wake up.

He gazed bitterly at them and got up. He walked down the familiar corridor with nothing on his mind. He didn't care at this point.

One of the F-57 drones blared at him before approaching him with its taxer dangerously close. Chris looked at it up and down before moving around it. With his back turned he didn't see the drone electrocute him in the back.

Chris shouted in pain and tumbled to the floor. He was on his hands and knees, shaking. He had never gotten tazed before.

The same drone appeared in his face and emitted a low, yet dangerous-sounding tone. Chris figured he wasn't going fast enough.

He gritted his teeth and got up, walking a bit faster. He didn't care if he got tased again. He pushed forward. He made a silent promise right before he went to bed that he would win this horrible tournament for her. She deserved that at least. When he won, he would find a way to contact her parents and tell them what had happened.

"I just hope they believe me", Chris whispered to himself.

They made their way back to the white room again. Chris looked around and noticed their were even less people in the room. Although, it's not like he expected anything else.

His eyes landed on Eone for a brief second before he looked at each of the remaining contestants more closely. It seemed that 4 contestants still had their counterpart while the other 4, including him, didn't have their other half.

Sor-dnaal popped up on his hologram, smirking as usual.

"Well, you all seem as excited as ever to compete", the alien bellowed.

Silence ensued. None of the contestants felt amused.

"The 2nd round has completed and I must say, you all seem to be doing quite well. Alliances are being crafted from the most unexpected of people which suprises me, frankly. In fact, some would be doing more than just making alliances", Sor-dnaal grinned evilly.

A picture suddenly flashed onto the hologram and it shocked Chris. It was Eone holding him while he was sleeping. They were sleeping together!

"What the fuck!", Chris said, his mouth agape.

His head snapped toward the Valraxian, who shifted his gaze elsewhere. Everybody else were gazing at the 2 individuals.

"Now now, there is nothing wrong with this. As you can see by thermal imaging, the Valxarian's body heat slowly decreased while the human's increased until they both were in equilibrium. It seems he was sharing his body heat with the human male", Sor-dnaal deduced.

"He was shivering, he...he would've died if I didn't warn him up", Eone half-mumbled,half declared.

"Oh and nothing else transpired afterwards?", Sor-dnaal chuckled.

"No! Nothing...nothing else", Eone said.

"Besides that, your bodies have adjusted to the Gnaxsus and it has been assimilated fully. Your neurological scans reveal Gnaxsus-neurofibrillary pathways are optimal and are functioning quite well under the stress. However, the human male seems to be taking it quite harder than the others. His Gnaxsus secretion is off the charts! I don't know whether you are an interesting specimen or a worthless anomaly", Sor-dnaal remarked.

Chris looked up at him with a neutral face before looking back down. Then, he heard someone crying above him. He looked up and was taken aback as he saw a recording of himself crying on the hologram, venting out his frustration on the wall.

He grounded his teeth together, trying not to act out. He gazed back at the hologram with no emotion.

"What proved to be interesting was that 2 others displayed exceptional neurological values. The male and female Akkrozs showed high levels of Gnaxsus secretion. Although, while their minds weren't processing a death and grief, their minds were preoccupied with...other things", Sor-dnaal chuckles darkly as he finished that last statement.

Another image flashed onto the hologram. This time, Chris was perplexed by what he saw. It showed the 2 creatures wrapped in each other's arms. The bottom one was moaning as the top one rolled it's hips against the other. It's 4 arms planted all along the other's body

"Yes! Yes, Traal! Harder! Fuck me harder!", the bottom one breathed. Her arms were wrapped underneath his shoulders, raking her fingers across his back.

Traal grunted as he picked up the tempo of his thrusts. The sounds of flesh slapping against flesh resonated through the room, followed by a symphony of gasps, grunts, and moans.

Chris, for some odd reason, was drawn to the hologram. He was focusing intently on the 2 beings in coitus. In fact, he could clearly see the cock plunging into the folds of the other, dragging out and pushing back in.

Chris' head snapped toward the 2 Akkrozs who were currently watching the video in shame, looking down at the ground.

His head picked back up when he heard their sounds of passion increase. Chris blushed, felt a surge of warmth flow towards his nether regions. He scolded himself. He shouldn't be getting horny at a time like this! He readjusted his stance, trying to control his libido.

"Rashnaa, I'm coming!", Thraal gasped.

Suddenly Rashnaa tensed up and barked a weird squeal while simultaneously wrapping her legs around Thraal's torso. Shortly after, Thraal threw his head back and thrust deep into Rashnaa, quivering and bucking slightly. He too unleashed a weird squeal, but his was more guttural and deep.

The video suddenly dissipated as Sor-dnaal reappeared, cocking his signature grin.

"It seems that Gnaxsus secretion increases when the brain releases hormones as event of the 2 during intercourse. Although, that's already been recorded. But I can add that it also increases when the mind processes a significant event", Sor-dnaal remarked thoughtfully.

"Anyways, The competition has been reduced to 12 competitors now. The fallen consist of the Wya, the female Ren", Sor-dnaal started.

Chris looked up to who Sor-dnaal was gesturing to and realized he was talking about that cat creature that attacked him and was subsequently killed by Eone.

"The last three are of the following: the female Eyrastaz, Yundr; Socz, the male Phoephor; and lastly the female human, Emily", Sor-dnaal concluded.

At the mention of Emily he was immediately reminded of her death. He stood quietly as Sor-dnaal explained what would happen next.

"...now with that explained, let us proceed to the 3rd round", Sor-dnaal asserted.

With no other choice, the remaining contestants traveled to the loading bay, dreading the future to come.
