Chapter 1

POV 1st person Dothurnaax

Not five minutes into my flight and it was already pitch black. None of the moons were out tonight, which gave me the advantage. Normally I wouldn't be able to see very well, even if I am a dark dragon. But the full face mask's visor gave me enhanced vision, illuminating the world for my eyes only. "Hey. What's that?" I heard a voice call out. I silently cursed as I ascended a few lengths. "You haven't slept in a few days Ructk, you really need to get some sleep." I heard another voice reply to the first. I sighed in relief as the guards dismissed my presence. 'I've got to be more fucking careful.' I mentally reminded. I closed in on the largest building in the city, which practically screamed 'Important people in here!'. I hovered around the building until I saw three large dragons, one green, one yellow, and one blue. I silently landed next to a skylight and tuned in on their conversation.

"Terrador you have to believe me! The rumors are true!" The yellow one exclaimed. "It's not possible." The green, Terrador, replied. "Yes it is! The soul dragon race isn't extinct! There is a survivor!" The yellow spat. "And what do you suppose we do about it if there is one?" The blue questioned. "I saw we kill it. If such a dragon did survive, it's too powerful and it needs to be eliminated." Terrador suggested. My blood began to metaphorically boil the longer this conversation went on. "If you say that, then you're saying that we would need to eliminate Spyro. As well as Cynder." The yellow accused. "Volteer, this dragon would dwarf the power of both of them combine! You know very well why they're race was nearly whipped out." The blue reminded. "Cyril, imagine if we were able to tame such a dragon. We would never have to worry about danger ever again!" My eyes flared, creating a sudden flash. Which, unfortunately, attracted the attention of the guardians. "What was that?" Terrador pondered. "Probably just a few of the students out screwing around." Cyril concluded. 'So that's all I am to them?! A feral weapon!' My rage boiled at a critical level. Oh how I longed to kick the guardians asses. But sadly, my mission restricted me from doing so. "It's getting late, and I'm getting tired. I bid you both a good night." Volteer announced with a yawn. 'Time to go.' I thought. I turned around and almost yelped in surprise.

In front of me was a light blue ice dragoness, about a head and a half shorter than I am, around 14 or 15 years old. "You can't get any sleep either?" She asked me in a soft and quiet tone. I thought for a second whether I should take her out, run, or just go along with it and wait for her to leave. 'Eh what the hell.' I thought. "No, I haven't been able to sleep lately." I answered quietly. "Yeah, same here. " She said as she sat down a few feet from the skylight. "Come to think of it I haven't seen you around the Academy. Why are you wearing that cloak?" She asked. "I'm new. And I don't want people seeing me after dark." I answered. "You're voice is really deep. You sound like your a 18, you look like it to." She complimented. "I'm 15." I grinned behind my mask when I saw her expression. "Are you serious? Time must have forgotten about you for a few years huh." She joked. "Yeah I guess." I mumbled. "I'm Shard." She introduced. "Dothurnaax." I replied. A few moments of silence stood between us, Shard ended it with a sigh. "Something wrong?" I asked her. "No, it's nothing. I wouldn't want to bother you anyway." She answered. I could feel the depressing energy radiating from her. I knew something was bothering her, but the question was, why did I care? "Hey. You can tell me." I assured. "Its just, I can't take it at the Academy. I'm constantly bullied by the females, and I'm sexually harassed by the males, and what does the staff or the guardians do? Nothing!" She nearly shouted.

"Keep your voice down please. I don't want to get bitched at." I warned. "Sorry, but sometimes. I know this sounds horrible saying it, but I wish Malefor was still alive to take care of the jerks and perverts of the world." She said with disgust. "I know how you feel. Sometimes people need a good pat. On the head. With a hammer." I joked, earning a laugh from Shard. "I'm happy you're not like the other guys. You see me as a dragoness, rather than a sex tool." She stated.

"I don't understand why guys chase females around. Odds are stalking them won't make them want to fuck you." I added. She sighed happily and leaned against me, which made my heart-rate spike. 'What the fuck is wrong with me? Why do I like this?!' I mentally demanded from myself. I looked down at her and saw that her eyes were closed and she was probably half asleep. For some reason, this calmed my nerves. If that is even possible. As I stared at her, I saw that she was shivering slightly. "Are you cold?" I asked her, half concerned. "I'm an ice dragoness Doth." She answered, still shivering. "And your shivering, here."

I pointed out. I blew a very small shadow flame over her body, warming her up. "Thanks. You didn't have to do that." She thanked. "Hey, I don't like seeing people in misery unless I cause it." I stated. Shard looked at me with a half shocked face. "Are you insane or something?" She asked me. "I prefer psychopath, but yes. That's only towards people who I don't like or people who deserve it." I added. "What about me?" She asked.

"Considering you're my only friend, I'd defend you to my last breath." I answered. "You're kidding, right?" She asked me, obviously not convinced. "Why would I be? You're the only one that I care about. Now with that said, I will defend families to the death as well. Children and mothers I mean." I explained. "You know, I think you might be my only true friend." I sighed. "What's wrong?" She asked me, concerned. "Nothing, I'm just tired." She gave me that how-stupid-do-you-think-I-am look. "Bullshit. You're bothered with something, I know you are. You can tell me." She practically repeated my words. "I'd rather not tell you." I said, looking away from her. She put her paw over mine, which made my heart-rate increase, again. "Doth, I opened up to you, so why won't you open up to me?" She asked me. "You can trust me Doth. I swear on my families honor that I won't tell another soul for as long as I live." I looked at her surprised. From what I know about dragon culture, swearing on one's families honor can be legally punished by death. "I'm sorry Shard, I want to tell you, but I can't. Not yet." She sighed in defeat and layed her head on my paws. "Then at least stay here with me for a few more minutes." She requested. I hesitated, then put my head over hers, and my wing over her body. With in seconds, Shard was fast asleep. 'Why am I doing this? I need to get back to Malefor, but I want to stay here. What the fuck is wrong with me?!' I mentally demanded. Soon I felt my strength wavering. I instantly silenced my mental protests and closed my eyes, not long after that I was asleep, my body guarding Shards.

I cracked my eye open several hours later and nearly flipped shit. I saw the morning sun barely peaking over the horizon. The world was still dark, but not near as dark as it was last night. "Shit!" I quietly cursed. I looked down and saw Shard happily sleeping underneath me. 'That's why I stayed.' I remembered. "Hey. Shard, wake up." I whispered in her ear. "Five more minutes." She groaned. "We're both going to be in enormous trouble if you don't wake up!" I warned. "Ugh. Wait. Doth?" I grinned slightly behind my mask. "Who did you think it was?" I teased. "Thanks for staying with me." She thanked, licking my mask. I blushed hard, fortunately she couldn't see it. "I need to get going." I said, standing up. I stretched like house cat, hearing multiple bones pop. "Oh and one more thing, what's the name of the guy you hate most?" I asked her as an evil plan formed in my head. "He's a fire dragon named Pyro. Blood red scales, black underbelly and black wing membranes. Why?" She answered and asked. "I'll set him straight soon. Thanks." I thanked her as I took off.

'She's a nice dragoness. And quite beautiful at that.' I thought as I sped over Warfang. 'Why do I feel this way about her? What makes her any different from the rest?' I shook my head to try to forget about the thoughts. 'Well Malefor isn't going to be very happy with my report. Then again everyone thinks Malefor is still dead so what would they have to worry about.' I thought as I flew over the city wall. "There! I saw something again!" I heard the dragon known as Ructk shout. "Ok bro, go home and get some rest. I'll take the heat for it later but you really need some sleep." I heard Ructks friend reply. 'I can tell I'm going to be having some fun fucking with this guy.' I thought with a chuckle.

"Ah, how did it go Dothurnaax?" Malefor asked me as I walked in the throne room. "Not well, I acquired no important information from the dragon guardians. But they do know a disturbing amount about Soul Dragons. And they know I'm still alive and the last of my kind." I reported. "I should have expected as much. Why did you take so long getting back?" Malefor asked me. "I-uh, fell, asleep." I half lied. "Mmm-hmm. With a dragoness under your wing?" He grinned as my head snapped up in shock. "How did you-?"

"I know everything that goes on Dothurnaax. No secrets can be kept from me. I know about Shard, I heard every word and thought you uttered. And I know how much you want to kill Pyro." Malefor finished with a wide smile. "Sir, if you will allow me, I will beat Pyro to death with his own tail." I requested, hearing a laugh from Malefor. "Getting bloodthirsty are we? Alright, you may do what you wish with Pyro. But be warned, if you get caught. We've never heard of you." Malefor warned. I grinned widely behind my mask and bowed. "Thank you Malefor." Malefor nodded. "It will be harder to sneak around for tonight Ephis will be full, tread carefully. Until then feel free to do whatever you wish." I bowed slightly and walked out of the throne room and towards the balcony located very close to the throne room. As I reached the balcony, I heard my stomach rumble. 'Guess it's time to eat.' I thought. I spread my wings and with a mighty flap, took to the skies and headed for the forests below the Citadel.

Weeks went by since that conversation. I kept doing recon missions for Malefor, hanging out with Shard in the process.

I was perched up in a tree twenty feet above the ground, silently waiting for a shiilok or eclosk to walk by (A/N Shiilok is my custom name for deer and eclosk is my custom name for moose). I had sort of lost himself in the peacefulness of the forest, that is until he heard a familiar voice. 'Shard?' I thought. Soon after a light blue ice dragoness appeared in my field of vision. On her face, I saw free flowing tears, and heard the sound of crying. My heart seemed to shatter seeing her like this. I silently climbed down the tree and approached her. "Shard?" I asked. Shard yelped and instantly curled into a ball, crying harder. "Shard! What's wrong?" I asked her, heavily concerned. "Everything!" She waled. "What do you mean?" I asked her. "First I walk in on my friends talking shit about me, next they assaulted me, then they stole my late mothers necklace. I have no friends left! And Pyro..." She whimpered. "What. Did Pyro. Do." I slowly asked, already feeling my rage boil. She looked at me through her teary eyes with pure fear. "Pyro... He r-raped. me." My eyes flashed in rage. "He did WHAT?!" Shard pressed her head into my chest and continued sobbing. "It was horrible. H-he trapped me in m-my room. I t-tried to call for help. But he gagged me with a c-cloth. After he was f-finished with me he left me to his SEVEN FRIENDS!" She screamed. "I swear upon my honor, he will die by my claws." I promised her. She looked down, then back at me. "What are you thinking?" I asked her, the worst of this situation going through my head. Shard sniffed as she looked at her tailblade. I instantly knew what she was planning. "Shard. Don't do it. There is still plenty of things to live for." She slowly started raising her tailblade to her throat. "What is there left Doth? No one in my family is left alive. I have no friends left. The last memory of my mother was taken from me." I slowly walked towards her. "Shard, you still have me. Please, don't do this." I began to feel tears welling up. "I'm sorry Dothurnaax. I can't live with the pain." Shard closed her eyes, lifted her head, and her tailblade rested on her neck. "Goodbye Doth." She whispered. My eyes grew wide as I lunged for her. "Shard! NO!" I shouted, but it was too late. Blood spilt from her throat as she hit the ground. "Shard! Please stay awake! Don't die! I'll get you to a hospital, just stay awake. " I begged her as tears of my own poured out of my eyes. "I'll miss you Doth." She weakly said as she closed her eyes. "Shard? Shard! No!" I screamed as I shook her in my arms. I ripped off the mask, not caring if it broke, and blew icy mist over her throat, slowing the blood flow. I picked her up and held her firm as I shot up in the air and flew as fast as I could to Warfang. I used my Wind element to bend the air around us, making myself move faster.

I didn't care what happened to me at this point, the only thing that mattered was Shards life. I shot downward to the Infirmary, marked with a large red cross on the front of the building. "Get out of my way!" I roared as I pushed past a few dragons standing on the sidewalk. I bursted through the doors breathing quickly as I frantically looked around for a doctor or a nurse. "Dear Ancestors, what happened?!" A white dragoness gasped as she ran up to me. "That doesn't matter. She's bleeding out! Please help her!" I begged. "Follow me!" The dragoness spat as she charged down a hallway.

"Place her on the table chest up!" The dragoness ordered as she lead me into a room with many surgery tools. I did as she instructed and carefully layed Shard down on the table. "I'll do everything I can to save her, but there's no guarantee she'll live." The dragoness warned. "I don't give a fuck! Just please try!" I shouted. "I'll try my best. Please leave the room and come back tomorrow for a report." She politely commanded as two other dragonesses rushed in. I sighed and walked out of the room. 'Why did you have to do that Shard?' I asked myself as fresh tears formed in my eyes.

'You're the only friend I have. And you try to kill yourself? Why?' I walked out of the infirmary with my head hung low. As I slowly trudged through the streets of Warfang, I heard a thunderclap, followed by the sound of rain. "Hey, what are you doing out in the rain?" I heard a voice, a male voice, ask me. I didn't answer. Instead, I looked behind me to see a fire dragon approaching me. 'If that's Pyro...' I thought to myself, getting ready to commit my first murder. The red sat down next to me and took a deep breath. "I'm Flame." He introduced. I looked at him for a second and turned back. Flame tilted his head when I looked at him. "Why are you crying?" He asked me. "My friend tried to kill herself. I don't know if she'll live." Flame lowered his head a little upon hearing the news. "Oh. I'm sorry." Flame apologized. _'Damn. And I was hoping to get her killed.' _I heard Malefors voice in my head. My eyes flashed red and I could feel a red mist emitting from the iris. _'She was slowly tearing you away from my influence. She had to go. Now, return to the Citadel. I have a new task for you.' _I growled deeply, reached down my cloak, and grabbed the necklace that bound me to Malefor. Flame took a few steps back as he stuttered. "T-thats a corruption crystal. Y-you're with Malefor!" Flame exclaimed. I looked at Flame and growl. "He's the one responsible for all of this. Now he's going to pay." I clenched the crystal in my paw. "Take me to the Guardians." I commanded. "You're an agent of Malefor! You will never reach the Guardians so long as I draw breath!" Flame shouted. "Then arrest me! I need to get to the Guardians NOW!" I roared back at Flame. After a few moments of silence, Flame returned to normal posture. "Fine, make one move and you're dead."

"Master Terrador, Cyril, Volteer!" Flame called out to the Guardians. "What is it Flame?" Terrador asked. "You have an unwanted visitor." Flame spat as I walked past him and stopped in front of the Guardians. "What makes him unwanted?" Volteer asked. "I want my revenge on Malefor." I answered. The guardians bursted out into laughter. "What's so funny?" I demanded. "Malefor was destroyed two years ago!" Cyril barely said through the laughter. "Oh really?" I asked, yanking my necklace off of my neck and tossing it on the table in front of them. The room immediately fell silent as they all stared at the necklace in horror. Terrador looked at me with complete rage and swung a paw at me, which I easily dodged. "Attacking me isn't going to solve shit!" I pointed out, dodging another one of his paws. "You're an agent of Malefor and you must be destroyed!" Cyril shouted, shooting an ice spear at me. I looked at him with a bored expression as I raised my right paw and grabbed the projectile. "If you kill me, you'll never find out where Malefor is hiding. And don't think of relying on torture. I've been through five years of daily torture at the hands of Malefors executioner. Half of my nervous system is dead. I'm willing to tell you everything I know. You swing at me one more time you'll never get a single word out of me." I warned. The guardians looked at each other, murmured a few things, then looked back at me. "Fine. Give us a few weeks to gather the warlords of the other eight kingdoms then you will tell us everything you know." Terrador gave in.

"Good. But in the end, I get to kill Malefor. I want revenge for what he's done to me." I added. "Agreed. Until then you are going to be assigned a personal guard. We can't be too careful. And one more thing, how do you intend to kill Malefor?" Cyril asked. "By stealing his soul of course." I grinned at their shocked and horrified faces. "Yes, I'm the soul dragon you've been talking about for the last few weeks. No, you won't kill me, and no, you sure as hell wont 'tame' me." I spoke before Volteer could get a word in. "Flame, lead this dragon to room number 86. We'll dispose of this crystal." I sighed. "Don't touch it." I instructed. "Watch me." Cyril remarked. When his paw touched the crystal. He roared in pain as it shocked his entire body. "See why you listen to me." I stated walking up to the crystal. I picked it up, and crushed it in my paw, then dropped the tiny pieces. "Lead the way." Flame nodded and walked out of the large room, leading me to my new home.

"Here we are. Be up around sunrise, breakfast isn't hard to find, just follow the smell. Avoid killing anyone, blah blah blah, you get the jist of it." Flame lazily explained. I remained silent as I walked in the room. The room was mostly black, except for the carpeting, which was a dark shade of red. Decorating the walls were numerous paintings and mirrors, along with torch stands, emitting a black fire, giving the room a purplish lighting. The bed located in the corner of the room was a large, round bed with multiple pillows . It was the same color as the floor, except the pillows were the same color as the walls. 'Nice room for a guy who was working for a mass murder twenty minutes ago.' I thought with a chuckle. Trudging over to the bed, I collapsed on the unbelievably soft mattress, lazily covered myself with the blankets, and fell into a deep slumber.

"Wake up. Wake up Dothurnaax." _A voice urged on. "Malefor I fucking swear if you ruin my good rest I'm going to kill you." I threatened, still half asleep. _"Well then fortunately for me, I'm not Malefor." The voice chuckled. I cracked one eye and looked up to see a large, aqua dragon w/ numerous books strapped to his body, looking down at me. "And who are you?" I asked, now fully awake._ "I am Ignitus, former Guardian of Fire and current Dragon Chronicler." He proudfully introduced. "You probably know who I am if you're the Chronicler." I assumed. _"Yes, I'm quite surprised the future savior of the realms is a psychopath." _I grinned. "Thank you." Ignitus smiled. _"The reason I summoned you is-."

"To discuss how I'm to take out Malefor, am I right?" I finished for him. "Y-yes. You're right. You must understand, he's no ordinary dragon."

"And neither am I." I pointed out._ "Dothurnaax, there's only one way for a soul dragon to fully destroy Malefor. And if you wish a long, happy life with Shard, you won't do it." Ignitus spoke in a depressed way. "Ok one, what makes you think I want a long, happy life with Shard? She's my friend. Nothing else. And two, as long as Malefor dies, I'm happy. Odds are Shard is dead anyway." I hung my head slightly. _"Dothurnaax I don't know who you're trying to fool. I can read your emotions like an open book. You love her, you just won't admit it." I closed my eyes tight. "She's my only friend in this world. I'm not about to watch her die before me. Not without a fight!" Ignitus grinned slightly. "Moving on. You're not a purple dragon, therefore that leaves you one option left."

"Which is?" I asked impatiently._ "To absorb his soul." _Ignitus spoke with his head slightly hung. "That's it? This'll be a fucking cake walk."

"Dothurnaax, Malefor isn't mortal. You'll be fighting a god. Therefore you'll be absorbing a gods soul. Your body nor your mind can handle that. Once you've completely absorbs his soul you'll have about five seconds left before you explode with pure spiritual energy. It will destroy any darkness that still resides on this planet, and it will destroy you." _I looked at him, at a loss for words. "Isn't there another purple dragon in Warfang?" I asked, now equally depressed. _"Spyro lost all of his powers after the first fight with Malefor. It will take him another decade to fully recover every power he has acquired over the years. If he fights Malefor, it'd be a lamb walking to slaughter. Right now, you're the only living being strong enough to even stand against the dark god." _I groaned. "Fucking perfect. As if I didn't have enough stress already. Now I have to go save a fucking planet!" Ignitus sighed. "I'm afraid it's not just the dragon realms anymore." _Suddenly, a 3D image of a bunch of dots appeared in between us. _"This, is the entire universe. Each of those dots represents a galaxy, which is made up of billions of stars, which in turn, have billions of planets. There are millions of separate civilizations on each of those planets. If you lose to Malefor, the entire dimension will fall to his rule. There's nothing anyone could do about it. You see being the Dark God, he has the ability to use every ability of every type of dragon that has ever existed. Including yours." _Ignitus explained. "So what you're saying is that the entire universe is counting on me." Ignitus nodded. _"If Malefor absorbs your soul, there will be no hope of holding him back. He won't need a dark army. He would simply open his maw and fly around the planet, absorbing the soul of every living being. Once he reaches Spyros, it's all over. We're out of time. I need you to take this to the guardians." _Ignitus announced, handing me a scroll. _"Now, wake up." _I tilted my head as the room grew brighter and brighter.

"Dothurnaax! Wake up!" I heard shouting from the other side of the door. "The doors not locked, ya know." I shouted back. Seconds later, I heard a thud, followed by Flame walked in the room rubbing his head. "C'mon, they're serving really good meat for breakfast." Flame stated. As I got up, I felt something cold against my facial scales. I looked down and saw the very scroll Ignitus had given me last night. I looked over at Flame really quickly, saw that he wasn't looking, and slid the scroll in one of the smoke bomb slots on the inside of the cloak and we both walked out of the room and down the hallway. "Hey, I just want to say, I'm sorry for the way I treated you yesterday." Flame apologized. "Don't worry about it, you had good reason." I replied. "Friends?" Flame asked me, holding out one of his paws. "Friends." I answered, shaking his paw with my own. Flame smiled a little and we continued walking for several minutes. "Hey, where are the Guardians?" I murmured to Flame. "They should be in the council chambers, why?"

"Are you Dothurnaax?" Someone asked me. "Depends on who's asking." I answered. "I'm your personal guard assigned by the Guardians." I sighed. "Alright. Can you lead me to the counseling chambers?" I asked him. "Sure. I'm Ructk, by the way." I gasped a little bit, remembering him when I spied for Malefor.

"Wait." I said, stopping before the large doors. "Do you have anything sharp?" I asked him. "A few throwing spikes. Why?" He asked me, narrowing his eyes. "I don't feel like engaging in a long ass conversation with the Guardians, so I was going to melt a spike to this scroll and hunk it at a wall. Let them figure it out for themselves." I explained, pulling the scroll out of the slot. Ructk reluctantly gave me one of the small spikes, which I proceeded to melting it to the scroll with my shadow fire. "Alright, get behind the wall, I'll open the door, throw this at a wall, then use my shadow element to shadow jump to you." Ructk nodded with a grin and hid behind a wall. I quietly opened the doors, not catching the attention of the Guardians, whom were deep in conversation. I held the spike scroll in one clenched paw and threw it like a cheetah would throw a spear, causing the Guardians to yelp quite loudly. I quickly shadow jumped over to Ructk, who was silently laughing. "Alright, lets go." I quietly spoke to him, walking back down the halls, following the scent of meat.

I regret ever following that damned meat smell. The room was nearly packed full of teenage dragons, and it was louder than I was when I was first branded.

"Hey Doth!" I heard a familiar voice call out. I looked over to the corner of the enormous room to see Flame and five unfamiliar dragons sitting at a table. I sighed and walked over to the group. "Hey guys. This is Dothurnaax." Flame introduced. "This is Volt, Bouder, Therma, and Aphis." I sighed and waved a paw at the group. "So where are you from?" Volt asked me. "Dragonwood." I answered. "Oh is that a peaceful town?" He questioned further. "If by peaceful you mean completely destroyed with a three year old hatchling impaled on top of a house as a sign of domination then yes, it is peaceful." The group stared at me in horror. "I'm sorry for bringing up bad memories." Volt apologized, hanging his head in shame. "Don't be. It's not like any of them cared about me." I mumbled. "What are you doing in Warfang Doth?" Therma nervously asked me. "One of my only friends tried to commit suicide. I don't know if she'll make it." I regretfully spoke, feeling tears well up in my eyes. "Hey, the healers here are the best in the world. If anyone can save her, it'll be them." Flame assured, placing a paw on my shoulder. "Thanks Flame." I thanked him, whipping my eye with a claw. "So are you into fighting at all?" Bouder asked me. "I guess you could say that." I answered, seeing Bouders eyes light up. "You want to spar?" He asked me, causing the rest of the group to gasp. "Sure. But could you go easy on me? I'm not that good at fighting." I lied, hiding my amusement. "Don't worry, I won't rough you up too bad." Bouder promised laughing. "You're going to kick his ass aren't you?" Flame whispered to me. I grinned, "Damn right."

The group had lead me to the training arena, where there were dozens of dragons sparring and practicing on straw and wooden training dolls. "Alright can we get a bit of room please?" Bouder requested. All of the dragons looked at us and cleared to the edges of the room. "Alright, stand right over there." Bouder pointed with his claw. I stood over to the stone circle opposite of him. "Barrier up!" Bouder called out, followed by a magical barrier surrounding us. "Ready?" Bouder asked me. I nodded. "Fight!" Bouder shouted. Seconds later the circle around him flashed red. And mine flashed black. "What? Black?!" I grinned and lunged at him, intending to tackle him. Bouder countered by rolling to the side and firing multiple earth bullets. I held up a single paw and caught one of the earth bullets. Bouders eyes grew wide as I smiled wickedly and threw the projectile back to it's owner, knocking him over. Bouder quickly jumped up and slammed a paw on the ground, making a giant rock pop out of the ground. Bouder jumped and did a front flip, slapping it with his mace-like tail. The rock hit me full force, creating a giant cloud of dust. Bouder gave a victorious smile as he thought he defeated me. "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!" I shouted as I leaped from the pile of rubble, three different elements charged. I roared and a mixture of lightning, ice, and shadow sped forward and connected with Bouder, sending him crashing into the magical barrier. I used my shadow element to travel underground and gain the element of surprise, again. I jumped out of the ground, flinging Bouder in the air. Using claws and tail, I practically mauled Bouder in the air, shoving him back down to the ground. "I'm not done yet!" Bouder shouted, surrounding himself in an earth ball. I landed right next to it, firing bolts of electricity, ice spears, shadow fire balls, miniature tornadoes, everything I had at the dragon, except my soul element of course.

"Sorry Doth. Class ten training dolls up! Aggressive!" Bouder shouted from inside the Earth ball. All of a sudden, fully armored ape look-a-likes appeared out of the ground, wooden swords and maces drawn, ready to beat me to a pulp. 'Shit just got real.' I thought as I took to the air. I charged up my fear element and shreaked, causing the dolls to run around aimlessly, swinging at whatever got in reach. I curled myself in to a spiked earth ball, and slammed myself down onto the ground, crushing the unlucky doll below me. I waited a few seconds for the dolls to regain control and surround my ball, then I spread my wings and roared, showering them in spikes, eliminating them all. "Well Bouder. It seems you're attack dogs are all gone. Come on out!" I taunted. I could see the Earth ball glowing slightly. "Whatcha charging up in there? Bet you never thought this would happen huh?" I shouted at Bouder. By now almost all of the students were surrounding the barrier, cheering on. Even some of the adults and Guardians had shown up. "C'mon. We have a crowd. Come out and fight!" I challenged. "Tell ya what. No elements for me!" I looked up and charged up all the mana I had and roared, sending a solid purple ball of light to the top of the magical dome. The lighting inside the barrier instantly turned to a dark purple. "There. I have absolutely no mana left. You should still have a good reserve. Are you scared of a newbie?" I taunted. "Wait! Stop!" I heard Terrador shout. "He's charging a fury!" Cyril yelled. My eyes grew wide as I looked back at them. "A what?" I asked, slightly nervous. Just them I heard Bouder roar, and the earth bubble pop.

Bouder was surrounded in glowing green energy, his eyes were solid green, and he had a deathly smile on his face. I grinned and resumed in my battle stance. "Alright! Let's go!" I shouted. Bouder roared and charged me. I jumped above him and swung my tail at him, intending on knocking him down. Well, jokes on me. When my tail connected, the elemental energy flung me against the top of the barrier, knocking the wind out of me. "Shit." I mumbled as I hit the ground. The crowd surrounding us cringed as a wave of "Ooo" was heard. I slowly got to my feet, feeling really, really weak. "What happened to the taunts?! Thought you were stronger than this Dothurnaax! What happened to that?!" Bouder shouted with a non-serious growl. "Fuck I love this place!" I shouted with an insane laugh. "Let's go dickbiscut!" I insulted as I charged him. I swung a paw, only for it to be flung back. But I noticed something, when I hit it, the energy around his body flickered, and it grew a little bit lighter in color. "You can't touch me! You don't have any mana left! Just give up!" Bouder shouted. I knew that if he hit me, it would break bones.

For the next five minutes I swung, recoiled, dodged, rinsed and repeated. While we were fighting, dragons started making bets. "What does he think he's doing? Nothing can penetrate that!" Terrador asked Volteer. "Watch closely. Everything he connects, the energy shield gets weaker. He's wearing him down." Volteer pointed out. "That dragon is smart. Far smarter than I gave him credit for." Terrador complimented. "I'll add another sixty gold to my wager." Cyril murmured to Volteer.

By now I could tell either one of us were going to collapse any minute from exhaustion. "You. Can't. Beat. Me." Bouder said through heavy pants. "Watch. Me." I remarked, charging him. Right as Bouder swung, I jumped over him, spun in the air, landed, and tackled him. I could feel his energy shield constantly pounding me, as I pounded it. I held Bouders neck to the ground, putting enough pressure on it to slightly cut off his access to air, but not entirely, ensuring he wouldn't be making any strikes against me as I repeatedly punched him. Finally, my strength waved enough to the point that I couldn't stay on top of him, and it flung me off. I knew one more strike would drop it. I had to win this, just for the fun of it. I rose one last time, and trudged over to Bouder. "Dude. You want. To call it. A draw?" He asked me as we circled each other. "After I kick. Your ass." I grinned and jumped forward, grabbing his face in both of my paws, I reared my neck back, and flung my head forward, headbutting the fuck out of him. We both fell over at the exact same time. The energy shield broke, but so did small parts of my head. "Who wins?" A dragon called out from the crowd. "It's a dr-." Terrador was about to declare a draw, until I slowly got up. I half walked, half dragged myself over to Bouder, which felt like miles on my tired body. I pinned his legs to the ground, and brought my tailblade to his throat. "Five! Four! Three! Two! One!" I heard the crowd count down. "Dothurnaax wins!" Flame exclaimed. The barrier fell and my new friends ran up to us both, along with the rest of the crowd, cheering. Bouder looked up at me with a slight frown. I smiled and held out a paw. He grinned and grabbed it, pulling himself up. "You lying asshole." He laughed, punching me in the shoulder playfully. "I couldn't resist." I replied, completely out of breath. "That was a remarkable fight, young dragon." Volteer complimented. "Thanks. I don't try."

"We had no idea you were a multi-element. How many do you have?!" Volt asked me. "Six." Everyone around me fell silent as they stared at me in awe. "How'd you aquire six elements?!" Therma exclaimed. I looked up at the guardians, ask if mentally asking if I should tell the truth, they replied by shook their head 'no'. "Uh, one in a million luck I guess?" Therma laughed. "Well, this is what I get for fighting someone with fifteen plus years of training." Bouder chuckled as we all began walking out of the room. "Dude I'm fifteen." I laughed. "You already lied once. Don't do it twice." Aphis giggled. "No, I'm serious. I was born on the 23rd of Darkfall, 1059." They all stared at me. "Dude, you're one big contradiction." Flame pointed out. "That's what I said a few years ago." Everyone laughed slightly. "Sir Dothurnaax!" A mole called out as he ran up to me. "Yeah?" I asked him. "It's Shard." He said. "No." I whispered. I instantly bolted through the crowd of fans and out of the Academy. Flame looked at the group, and they all ran after me.
