Hey guys, just wanted to add in, the prologue has nearly double the views of the rest of the chapters combine, so please, if you're just going to read one chapter then leave, don't read at all. Now, relax and enjoy my work:)

"Another failed experiment master." The ape scientist informed as he knelt down on one knee. "Damn. Let's try something new, grab the Soul Dragon." The master ordered. "Maybe he will be the one." The master continued. "Yes, Master Malefor." The ape bowed and walked out of the room, shouting orders to the ape underlings.

1st person Dothurnaax

I opened my eyes and yawned. I looked up at the wall and made another tick mark scratch with my claw, then began counting them up. It took two and a half hours to count up the tick marks by fives. It has been 1826 days since I was taken. 1826 days since everyone I knew and loved were ripped from me. 1826 days I've had to listen to the screams of pain and suffering of young dragons. I was the age of eleven when that tragic day struck. Malefor's forces came and layed waste to my village, killing everyone in sight. Then Malefor himself decided to spare me, only to use me for testing. Lucky, the fatal tests that the scientists were using on the others have yet to been placed upon me. For the last five years, the apes have done small tests. Giving me artificial crystals, medicines. Over the course of five years they had figured out that I had in my possession six elements: Shadow, Earth, Fear, Wind, Ice. And one stupid-rare element. One that could easily rival the power of the purple dragon.

Soul. I had the power to tap into the energy of the dragon souls willing to sacrifice themselves for me, to literally rip the soul from the body, giving me an undead thrall to do my bidding. I have only used it once, and that wiped out half of the scientists in this damn lab. Ever since then they have kept my cell encased in dark crystal matter, preventing me from using this ultimate element.

While in deep thought, I failed to notice the two ape guards and the scientist behind me. The guards unlocked the collar that chained me to the ground and grabbed me by the neck, slightly choking me. "Put him down now!" The scientist shouted. The apes grunted and dropped me. The scientist immediately ran to my side and placed a hand on my neck. "I'm so sorry for what they've put you through. I'll make this as painless as possible." The ape promised me. I coughed and looked up at him with hatred in my eyes. "I understand your hatred for the apes, but we don't have a choice, now please don't make this any harder than it has to be." The ape practically begged. I sighed and got up, causing the guards to jump. "Let's just get this over with." The scientist smiled and nodded. "I'm Chuck by the way." The scientist introduced as he lead me to the testing facility.

As we walked in, I almost toppled and threw up from the smell. It wreaked of death and chemicals in here, I looked around to see the corspes of dragons around my age lying about. "You're probably going to end up like them you know." Chuck warned. I remained silent. The two guards roughly picked me up and tossed me in a small solid crystal platform. I took a step forward outside the ring and was greeted by ten thousand volts. "Please remain inside the ring." Chuck instructed. I growled and obeyed, sitting down in the middle of it. The scientist picked up a blood red crystal and drilled a small hole in it, then slipped a steel chain through the hole. Approaching me, he put the chain over my head and onto my neck, immediately I felt a stinging pain impact my body. "Everyone out of the room!" Chuck ordered, quickly walking out of the room, sealing the door shut behind him. I tilted my head in confusion, until the pain in my body increased tenfold.

I dropped to the ground roaring in pain, it felt as if my body was going to explode into a thousand pieces any second. The pain only increased as I felt my entire body stretching and growing at an unnatural rate. The muscles and bones increased in everyday; strength, size, weight, density, etc. The grueling pain went on for hours, I could feel something tugging at my soul, I then realized what the necklace was for. It was for Malefor to control me. Like hell I would allow that! My roars deepened to a demonic level as they turned from roars of pain to roars of pure rage for Malefor. I slowly stood up, gritting my teeth. I used all of the strength I had left to take one measly step forward before collapsing, unconsciousness overtaking my mind. The last thing I heard was the doctor, Chuck saying, "Test subject #666 sucessfully transformed. Inform Master Malefor immediately!"

"Wake up. Wake up Dothurnaax." I heard a very familiar demonic voice urge on. I groaned and opened my eyes, seeing none other than Malefor lying down on his stomach, paws crossed, head up staring at me. "You survived. You're the first to survive since Cynder's generation. Most impressive." Malefor complimented. I remained silent, seeing no point in wasting words. "Not the talking type? Good. I need more obediant dragons such as yourself." I stayed silent, as it seemed to please my master. "First, you must prove your loyalty to me." I looked to my left, hearing the sound of rocks moving. I saw a bound dragoness, no older than five being tossed onto the floor in front of us. "Kill her. I know you were once a dragon with a heart of gold. Prove your loyalty to your master. Now!" Malefor ordered. I walked up to the child and stared down at her. She began to cry and scream behind the cloth gag in her mouth. "I can't." Malefor seemed taken back by this. "Why not?" He demanded, a growl intertwined with his words. "I can't kill children. I'd happily slaughter an entire city but I refuse to murder females or children unless the situation demands it." To my surprise, Malefor laughed. "I like you Dothurnaax, you're the perfect dragon in my eyes. Although I do not expect any mercy to be shown to anyone who physically opposes you." I turned to my master and smiled. "Did I say I would?" Malefor laughed even more. "You're so much better than Cynder ever was. Guards!" Malefor shouted. A heavily armed and armored ape rushed forward and knelt down on one knee. "Take Dothurnaax to the armory and get him suited up." Malefor ordered. "Yes Master. Follow me." The ape instructed as he lead me through the citadel.

After a few minutes of walking the ape opened a large door leading into a room with multiple forges, grind stones, work benches, anything required for forging armor was in this room. In the center was a female black dragoness wearing a heavy leather apron. "New recruit?" She asked the ape, who nodded in response. "Alright, what would you prefer?" She asked me. "Something black and good for stealth missions." I answered. The dragoness nodded and walked through a doorway, humming to herself. "Ah! Here we are." She announced as she grabbed a smallish chest. "Full body, solid black, semi-fireproof cloak made primarily for stealth missions. A thin layer of black titanium for added protection. It comes with a few leather strips made to hold special smoke bombs and flash bangs. Also a full face mask to completely conceal the identity of the wearer." She explained. "Sounds perfect." I replied, quite impressed with the set. "Alright, hold still so I may strap ya in." She instructed as she pulled the plates out of the chest. For the next five minutes I stood like a statue as she tightened numerous straps around my body. Finally, after one last jerk she grunted and stated, "Alright, I'm done. Now before you go I'm going to show you how to put on and take off the mask. You see it's made so it can't be ripped off." She explained. "Alright, to put it on you hold it to your face and press this button, then this one, and pull back this buckle in that order to firmly attach it. And to take it off you do the same thing but reversed." She finished with a smile. "Sir, we need to be getting back to Master Malefor." I looked at the ape then back at the dragoness. "Thanks." I blandly thanked her as I walked out of the room, the guard close behind me. "One more thing! A few mages infused that set with a muffle spell, to keep you silent. So try not to get it destroyed!" The dragoness called out to me.

"Ah, you're back." Malefor stated as I walked in the room. "I see you favor stealth and maneuverability over brute strength. How unexpected." I sat down with silence and awaited my task. "Your first task is to spy on the Dragon Guardians in Warfang. Gather information of their battle plans, learn when the city is going to be most weak, find out where they hide the cookies, etc. And don't get caught, that would raise their alarm... And displease me." Malefor warned with a chuckle. I nodded silently. "I'd advise you wait until dark." Malefor added. I nodded and walked out of the room. "How do I get out of the citadel?" I asked the nearest ape guard. "Follow me." He ushered as he began walking down the hall. I followed the ape for a good ten minutes before we finally arrived at a large balcony. "Dragons take off here." He stated before turning around and returning to where he was posted. I looked out and saw that the sun was on the horizon, signifying that it was twilight. I looked off to the right and saw the dragon city, probably a ten minute flight away. 'How do they not know about the citadel?' I thought. Then I remembered what the dragoness who gave me the armor said. 'Well if they can create a personal sound barrier then why can't they cloak an entire fortress?' I mentally concluded as I took flight for the city.
