Brandon meets his dad's side of the family.

The Life and Times of Brandon Firestone Part 2

"W-What?" Brandon said. His father? This black wolf was his father!?

"N-No you're not! My father died in a car accident!" Brandon said raising his voice.

"No, I pretended to die so I could leave the city and move on with my plans." The black wolf said not even caring for the look of anger Brandon had on his face.

"So you just left?!" Brandon shouted. "Mom was crying for days because of you, she thought you were dead! And what about me! I was only four, were your stupid plans so important you couldn't raise your own son!?"

"Shut up, boy." His father said in a dark tone.

"No! Why should I listen to you? You just abandoned your own family, and what kind of plans anyway!? Are you some criminal or something?" As soon as Brandon finished a big black paw was wrapped around his neck and lifted him into the air.

"I said shut up, Brandon." The black wolf said with a growl while Brandon tried to free himself from his grip.

"Hey, put him down." Shane said as he struggled to get out of the hospital bed. "I don't care if you're his dad or not. If you don't put him down now I'm going to bust you up!"

The black wolf turned around and stared at the brown bear. "Sit boy."

In a second Shane found himself on his knees while the black wolf turned back to Brandon.

"W-What the hell, I can't move!" Shane shouted.

"Now, Brandon, here is the deal." The wolf said as he released Brandon back on the bed. "You're a werewolf, you're my son, and I have need of your powers. In your room you'll find some things under your bed that I think you'll be interested in. Oh, and if you tell anyone about me or that you're a werewolf." He stopped and pointed at Shane, Carina, and K.C. "They die." In an instant the room was covered in darkness.

When the darkness disappeared Brandon's father had disappeared without a trace. Before anyone could say anything else the doors opened.

"What do you think you are doing?" A fairy asked as she observed Shane on the ground still on his knees.

"Uh, we were just helping him get back on his feet." K.C. said quickly as he went over to Shane and helped him up, suddenly realizing that was a mistake because of how heavy Shane was and how small he was.

"Well don't try it again, you may be healed but we still have to keep you under watch to make sure you're not infected." The fairy snapped her hands and all of a sudden K.C. lifted Shane up into the air like he didn't weigh anything.

K.C. couldn't help having some fun so he spun Shane around then kept him up with one finger. He was going to do more but a quick growl from Shane told the little human boy that he better put down the big grouchy bear soon.

As K.C. set Shane down the nurse began probing the bear. When she was done she won't some notes down on a clipboard and headed for the door.

"Aren't you going to probe me?" Brandon asked.

"Oh, no need. Another wolf came in and probed you already. Plus since there are no bite marks on either of you, I'm pretty sure your lycan free." The fairy nurse said with a smile and then left.

"Another wolf?" Brandon said.

"It was your...father." Carina said. "He came in disguised as a doctor and just waited for one of the nurses to show up. He also told me and K.C. to keep quiet about what happened."

Brandon took a deep breath as he lay back on the bed. "What am I going to do?"

"Whatever you do, just don't tell anyone you're a werewolf, because I like living." K.C. said.

"He has to tell, it's the law, all citizens with great powers are supposed reveal themselves." Carina said. "If he doesn't he'll be arrested and thrown in prison."

"I can't Carina." Brandon said. "He said he'll kill you guys, and I think he's serious. Besides I'm not sure if I'd tell anyway. If people find out I'm a lycan, everyone will treat me differently."

"Brandon I--"

Just then the doors opened revealing a tall, handsome German Sheppard with blue eyes.

"Dad!?" K.C. yelled. "What are you doing here?"

"Just trying to get some answers Kevin." The German Sheppard said as he eyed Brandon. Soon three more officers came in and directed Carina, Shane, and K.C. out of the room. "Brandon Firestone, correct?"

"Y-Yes, sir." Brandon answered.

"My name is Commander Cyan, K.C.'s adoptive father and head of the S.N.T.F. I have some questions I'd like to ask you."

****

It had been two days since Brandon was questioned by Commander Cyan. After that he went straight home and tried to sleep, but then he remembered to check under his bed as his father said. Brandon checked under his bed and found a dark suitcase. Inside of it was a book and a note.

"Not exactly what I was expecting." Brandon said as he examined the book first.

The book was full of information on shamans and elemental spirits. When Brandon checked the note all it said:

Meet us at the Museum at 2:00 p.m. Brandon looked at the clock on his desk; the time was 1: 53 p.m.

"Crap!" Brandon said as he bolted out the door.

****

Commander Cyan sat at his desk as he went over the files. Four werewolves were now confirmed to be in the city. A black furred one, a grey furred one, a brown furred one, and now one with blood red fur. "Just my luck," The German Sheppard said dryly as he looked over the file again.

Name: Brandon Firestone

Species: Wolf/Dog

Age: 15

Height: 5'8

Weight: 130 lbs

Fur color: Red with White underbelly

Eye color: Green

Background: Currently a High School Sophomore, raised by a single mother. Father died in car accident.

Government Record: None

Powers: None

Commander Cyan set the files down again and sighed just as a figured had entered the room holding a cup of coffee.

"Still looking at those files, Commander?" A brown haired human asked.

Commander Cyan stood up from his seat and walked over to the window. "I don't think the kid is telling the whole truth. He says the werewolf broke in his house and attacked him, but the glass is on the outside of his house. Then there's the fact that a blood red werewolf is seen coming from his home, but the probe spells say there's not a speck of lycan in him."

"Should there be sir?" The man asked as he placed the cup of coffee on the commander's desk.

"Well, he has red fur. That's pretty unusual for a wolf or a dog."

"What about that one kid in the east part of the city, he's got three horns on his head and we still haven't found out a reason for that."

"I've given up on that kid, Todd." Cyan said as he grabbed the coffee and took a sip. "Why do I always get the weird cases?"

"This is the S.N.T.F., boss. They don't call it the Super Natural Task Force because we go after guys in Halloween costumes."

"True," Cyan said as he took another sip. "Still, I need some more information on this kid; I want to know more about his family on both sides."

"I'll just take these to Judy then," Todd said as he grabbed the files and headed out the door. As he walked down the hallway he took a look at the picture. "Brandon Firestone, kid seems harmless enough."

It was 2:21 p.m. when Brandon made it to the museum. He was pretty tired and out of breath and he still didn't know what to expect when he got there.

"Man, your slow," Brandon looked up and saw two big wolves in a tree looking down at him. "Your part wolf kid, you should have gotten here sooner." The grey wolf said as he jumped down and removed the sunglasses he was wearing.

"Who are you and where is my dad?" Brandon asked.

"Our, dad said he would be late but that gives us some time to chat, Shorty."

"Our dad!?" Brandon yelled. "You mean I have brothers?" Brandon looked up at the other wolf that was still in the tree. This wolf had brown fur and didn't really seem interested in the conversation.

"Yep, and a whole lot more. By the way I'm Velocity, but you can just call me V." The grey wolf said as he extended his hand.

"Umm, okay, V." Brandon said cautiously shaking his brother's hand. "So, what's his name?" Brandon said as he pointed to the other wolf.

"Marcus." The brown wolf said in a growl.

"Don't mind him, he has dog issues. So let's see your powers."

"My powers?" Brandon repeated.

"Yeah, you know. You're a fire elemental, I'm a wind elemental, and Marcus is an earth elemental."

"Uh, I'm no elemental." Brandon said.

"Sure you are. You just--"

"V, show him." Marcus said as he jumped from the tree and landed neatly on the ground.

Velocity took a quick look at Marcus and then back to Brandon. His eyes glowed yellow and then he picked up Brandon and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

K.C. was in his room tossing up his baseball at the ceiling, just thinking. Brandon was a werewolf and his father was going to kill him, Shane, and Carina if he told anyone. Plus his dad was the head of the Supernatural Task Force. He could probably just tell his father, but what would happen to Brandon?

The door opened and K.C.'s father walked in. The German Sheppard looked down at K.C. with a smile as he sat down on his bed.

"K.C., how are you doing?"

"Oh, fine dad, nothing like having a werewolf in your face to traumatize you for the rest of your life." K.C. said.

Hector Cyan simply rolled his eyes, seeing that his son was nice and insane as ever. While K.C. was still tossing the ball up he caught it in mid-air and set it down. "K.C., do you remember when I told you that I adopted you?"

"Dad, this isn't going to be one of those sad moments where we talk and cry and then hold each other for an hour is it?"

"Don't get smart with me boy," Hector said with a playful growl. "I just want you to know that I love you and I will always protect you. And if there is anything you need to tell me, then you can tell me."

K.C. couldn't help but smile and hugged his father tight. No matter how many people said the German Sheppard was a cold hearted guy, K.C. loved him with all his heart and he was proud to be his son.

"Actually dad, if you don't mind I'd like to see some books about werewolves."

****

Outside of the city Velocity dropped Brandon on the ground. Brandon looked around and saw he was in the middle of a rocky field. When he tried to stand up he found his legs were shaking and he soon fell to the ground.

"W-What did you do?" Brandon said blinking in surprise.

"I told you, I'm a wind elemental." Velocity said with a grin. "Now let's see your powers."

"I told you I don't have any powers," Brandon shouted. "And if you're talking about the werewolf thing, I need a full moon to do that!"

"No, you don't. At least you won't when you unlock your lycan abilities." Velocity said as he walked backed away from the red furred hybrid. "As for you elemental abilities, you better learn how to use them fast." Velocity said as he pointed behind Brandon.

Brandon turned around just in time to see Marcus hurl a large boulder heading straight towards him. Brandon surprisingly jumped over the boulder, but before he could ask how he did it another rock hit him on the head.

"Ouch..." Brandon said as he rubbed his forehead. "What did you do that for!?" Brandon said as he glared at Marcus.

"If you don't know how to use your powers then your nothing but a weakness to our cause, but what else should you expect from a dumb dog." Marcus said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"What did you say?" Brandon growled as his eyes flashed green.

"You heard me," Marcus said with a grin. "You're nothing but a hybrid. I don't even know why dad bothered hooking up with a dog. She probably wasn't that good looking, I mean look at the results."

Brandon's hands caught on fire and in a quick second he was howling and heading straight for Marcus.

****

Shane was in his room lifting weights. He was still upset with the incident. He had lost to Brandon of all people, not that he cared but he thought he was strong enough to take on anyone.

Just then the doors to his room were busted down by a small human boy with a book.

"SHANEIGOTTHISBOOKFROMMYDADTOHELPUSLEARNHOWBRANDONSPOWERSWORK!" K.C. shouted.

Shane just stared at K.C. for a few moments before answering. "Dude, you really need to stop that." Shane said.

"Sorry, but I got this book on werewolves from my dad." K.C. said as he showed the brown book to Shane. "I think we can use it to help Brandon."

"Well then what are we waiting for let's get Carina and go!"

****

"Uhh..." Brandon groaned as he lay on his side. He was covered in bruises and his arm was bent at an unnatural angle. Marcus himself only had a few scorch marks where Brandon's fire had actually hit him, but the brown wolf still wasn't satisfied.

Marcus stomped his foot on the ground and lifted up a boulder ready to crush Brandon.

"Marcus, that's enough!" Velocity yelled.

But Marcus ignored him as an unnatural blue glow appeared in his eyes at the shadow of the boulder covered Brandon. Marcus made a gesture to release the boulder but before he could V was there with a gun in his face.

"I said that's enough, Marcus." V growled as he held the gun in his brother's face.

"You expect the enemy to show him mercy?" Marcus growled. "I'm doing him a favor."

"Move the boulder away from him before I put a bullet in your through your skull, and don't think I won't."

Marcus stared at Velocity not phased a bit. He knew Marcus would do it, but he also knew if he did the boulder hovering over Brandon would drop. Then again, Velocity would be able to shoot him then run over to Brandon in a second, either way Marcus had lost.

Marcus moved the boulder away from Brandon and let it fall. Velocity then went over to Brandon to check on him. "Hey, bro, you alright?"

"What enemies?" Brandon asked in a weak voice.

"Oh, you heard that part. Well, yeah, dad's putting together an army. So you're going to need to learn how to use those powers soon." V pulled out a vial full of red liquid and let Brandon drink it. In an instant Brandon was fully healed with all his bruises gone, except for the ones on his clothes.

"Don't worry, we'll help you out, but for now just try to get used to your new life.

In a gust of wind Marcus and Velocity were both gone leaving Brandon all alone in the field.

"An army, an army for what?" Brandon said as he made his way back into town.

"Hey, Justin, I could use some help down here." A big brown cat said as he threw away the broken screwdriver.

"Sure thing Bob," a grey cat said as he searched through the supplies. "What do you think is in there Bob?" Justin said as he examined the large steel door with strange runic writing on it.

"I don't know, but whatever it is it must be real important for someone to lock it up like this." Bob said. "Pass me the dynamite."

"Are you sure that's going to work?"

"Maybe not, but with some rune powder it should." Bob sprinkled some green powder on the dynamite and it began to glow. As he lit the fuse he and Justin took cover.

A loud explosion was heard from the door. When the two cats looked up they heard a click from behind the door as it slowly opened. Bob got up and headed for the door.

"Are you sure we should be messing with this thing Bob. I mean with the talk of werewolves and the moon being out."

"Justin, that city is miles away now help me--" The brown cat stopped as he saw the body wrapped in chains hanging in the air. "What in the world?"

The body suddenly opened its eyes, revealing a red glow as it let out an unearthly screech.
